If you have the Media you can use it to create a bootable USB key via boot camp assistant.
It will create the usb and has the option of pre-downlading the drivers and bootcamp utilities for windows.
It is pretty much all automated and quite simple.

Hello. I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a new-model Mac Mini ('Late 2012'), which I just bought from Apple. [Specs: 1 TB Fusion drive, 2.6 GHz intel Core i7, 16 GB RAM, OS X Mavericks (latest), Graphics: Intel HD graphics 4000, Screen: LG Flatron 24"].
After following instructions on Bootcamp, I tried installing it through my external USB Apple Superdrive (DVD), but for some reason as soon as the system finishes getting things ready and reboots to begin installing Windows 7, I get a black screen with an error message as follows: "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". Pressing the keys on my keyboard does nothing (even though it's a wired model, not a wireless one.) I'm forced to do a hard shutdown using the power button and hold down the Option key in order to get the system to show the Mac HD where OS X is. It also shows the Windows DVD as another option, but when I select it and the system boots, I just get the same error message again. So I go back to a hard shutdown and reboot to go into OS X again.
Not sure what to do, I did some online research and in one post in the Frequently Asked Questions for Bootcamp, it says for installing Win 7 and Win 8, the computer won't work with external USB drives (*totally nuts in my opinion - Apple has to fix this stuff if they want to entice Windows users into buying their sleek, quiet hardware). Instead, the post recommends creating a Windows 7 ISO file from my Windows 7 DVD and putting it on a USB thumbdrive that Bootcamp is going to use to put all the Apple/Windows drivers on for the installation process. I'm also told I have to unplug my Superdrive (no explanation given for why). So I do all this and get Bootcamp Assistant running again. Unfortunately, as soon as the system reboots after going through all the usual preparation steps, I get another black screen with a new error message: "Non-system disk Press any key to reboot". So I'm at a loss for what to do next.
(I've also have an iMac that I bought more than a year ago that I also put Windows 7 on, with no problems that time. Go figure.)
If anyone here has an good answer for how to proceed, I need to know. Thanks in advance!

Win vs. Mac File Paths

I have a script that Peter Kahrel helped me with (actually he pretty much wrote the whole thing). The script saves out each page of an Indesign doc as jpeg. It also takes the text from a text box tagged "jobnumber" and inserts it into the name of the saved jpeg.
It works great on the Mac. When I move it over to Windows it inserts a weird character before and after the "jobnumber".
On the Mac I can take the folder name which is a variable called 'path' and insert that into the filename as well but it doesn't work on Windows. Does anyone know what the differences are between Mac and Win paths in JS? I tried a few things to no avail.

How can I install Win XP instead of Win 7 on mac?

I bought a MacBook Pro 2.3GHz dual-core Intel i5 (Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard) and found out the Boot Camp requires windows 7.
I don't have windows 7 but windows XP (SP3). I have already finished the partition by bootcamp and succeed in windows XP installation, but when I put the Mac OS X install DVD to finish the installation, it showed the sentence that windows 7 is required.
Is there any way that I don't need to buy a win 7? Thanks

Apple has abandoned BootCamp support for XP and Vista with their 2011-released models.

It might be possible to get the basic drivers from the various hardware manufacturers (like Intel, ATI/AMD, Broadcom, Realtek, etc.) but any Apple-specifc hardware component won't work.
You might be better of getting/using Windows 7

Convert Adobe Illustrator CS6 Win license into Mac license

Dear All,
some time ago I've purchased Adobe Illustrator CS5 as well as CS6 upgrade Win. Now I converted from Windows 7 to Mac OS X Maverics.
On the page "My Products and Services" along with the serial numbers the Adobe Illustrator CS5 and CS6 Upgrade have as platform in both cases "Win" instead of "Mul". How can I get the "Mac" versions in conjunction with these Serial numbers?
I'm aware that it is still possible to run the Windows versions within Parallels 10 (Windows Emulation within Mac OS X), but I think this is no good solution.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Migrating from PS Elements 6.0 (WIN) to LR (MAC)

Hello all...tried searching the forums for advice on migrating my PS Elements 6.0 (WIN) library to LR (MAC). No success. Hoping that someone here can offer advice on how to successfully make the move. My PS Elements library is fully organized into albums, lots of keyword too.
Any advice on how t make this the move with as little pain as possible will be greatly appreciated.

Buy 2.0 when it comes out. 1.x came out before Elements 6 and so doesn't support migration. 2.0 will, but only on Windows. So you'll need to migrate it on Windows then move it to mac.

Converting PSE Win to PSE Mac with saved keywords

Tried several times for three years to go from PSE Win 6 to 9, then to PSE 9 Mac. At that time intstructions used to say to save keyword tags to slide files before backup, then restore on Mac. Could never get this to restore on Mac. Has this been solved with later versions?

Thanks so much. I think I did this all right, because at least one of the times an Adobe tech did it from scratch logged in to my computer. (It is a Mac with Parallels/Windows, and PSE 6 and 9 on that, so all versions actually on one box) And the Mac PSE 9 is on the Mac. So just so I am clear finally, are you saying I don't have to do this save tags process first? In which version? And my keywords will come with the catalog? Is this due to some software upgrade? I didn't see anything in a recent search.

Upgrade to CS4 Win using CS2 MAC

Before we actually purchase the upgrade, we want to make sure we can do this - We have Creative Suite 2 Premium for MAC and want to upgrade to Creative Suite 4 Design Premium for Windows. We are phasing out the older MAC's and moving to Widows based workstations.
We're looking to purchase the following from CDW:

Cross platform upgrades should be handled directly via Adobe Customer Support. I don't believe that what is carried in the "channel" will suffice for this purpose. Call Adobe Customer (not Technical) Support and they can confirm as to how to proceed.

Installing Win version on Mac via Parallels

I'm currently running Photoshop CS2 and the trial version of Illustrator CS4 on my Mac. I'm going to be purchasing Creative Suite for Windows and installing/running this via Parallel, which allows you to run a Windows OS and it's programs on a Mac.
My question is...will I have any problems in installing or running CS4 for Win seeing as how I have other Mac versions of the same programs on the same hard drive? I plan on uninstalling these to make room for the new ones, but of course Adobe leaves behind difficult to locate files.

CS 4 will install under Parallels with no issue. Just make sure you have
a large disk image set aside.

Printing from WIN XP to MAC OS X using Bonjour

I am trying to Print to my Powerbook using bonjour, with the printer connected to a WIN XP machine. I downloaded WIN Bonjour and installed it, but it seems as if this is more for people who have the printer connected to the MAC. Is there a way that I can keep my printer connected to my PC, and print on my MAC?
I should mention that I have a CANON i560 and that Canon's drivers for the MAC don't seem to work for the printer. I print over the network and the text is shrunk, which is a driver issue. Is there any way to make Bonjour work with my PC?

No you can't use Bonjour and the usual process won't work with the Canon drivers.

If you purchased it from the Adobe Store on the web then you need to contact Adobe. If you purchased it from another party on the web then you need to contact that third party vendor.

How to share mobile wireless connection from Win XP to mac?

I have two comupters,one mac and one PC (win XP). I am trying to share the mobile wireless broadband from my PC to the mac. I set up the sharing from mac to PC successfully quite a while ago, but now I need to work extensively on mac. So I tried to set up the sharing in the other around and nothing worked at all. Here is what I did.
1. I enabled the sharing of the mobile wireless connection on PC.
2. I tried to set up a small/home network, but it didn't work on Mac as the windows softwares can't be run on mac
3. I also tried to set up a peer-to-peer connection from PC to Mac which also didn't work.
Does anyone how to do the sharing from PC to Mac? Thanks a lot!

Okay, firstly some routers or mdoems come with 2 ports on the back so you can connect two different computers so simply plug them both in
if not, then i advise you buy a router which allows you to add numerous computers to the same network via wires or add numerous computers wirelessly
i have one computer connect to my netgear router -wired
i have one computer wirelessly connected with a Netgear USB wireless reciever
then i got my laptop which is connected via wireless
i have xbox live which i connect to the internet via my laptops wireless connection, this can be done with any pc or laptop aswell
what you do is
wireless networks - where it showws any detected networks
change advanced options - on the side
advanced tab
then allow other computers to use this computers internet connection
simple as
all you do is plug in your other pc or whatever
