LMS 3.2.1 netconfig error

Hi,
I am using LMS 3.2.1, and while deploying the configuration to the device via Netconfig job, I receive below error message. All commands deploy successfully but Netconfig job status always failed because of below error message;
Command(s) failed on the device TFTP: Failed on the device.
However I can sync archive the same devices successfully.
Transport Settings->Archive management = SSH TELNET TFTTP RCP
Transport Settings->Config Deployment = SSH TELNET TFTTP
Please advise how to rectify the issue.
Thanks

Hi Rizwan,
You are using system defiend templates to push the Netconfig job or you are using the ADHOC option ?
If you are using system defiend templates use the ADHOC job and see if it makes any difference.
I remember there were few bug on this issue ,I found one :
CSCeh40578    netconfig reports success on failure

  • LMS 4.2.1 Netconfig job CLI output empty

    Hi,
I have run a netconfig jobs in LMS 4.2.1 with these settings:
    Task Details
    Task: AdhocCommands
    show interface status
    Devices
    switch-1
    switch-2
    switch-3
    Task: AdhocCommands
    show versionDevices
    -----------switch-1
    switch-2
    switch-3
After running the job the "Device Details" of the jobs say "Successful Devices" for all three switches:
"Deploy successful (Primary Login Succeeded   / Primary Enable Succeeded  )"
For the devices switch-1 and switch-2 I get the desired output:
    CLI Output
    show interface status
Port      Name               Status       Vlan       Duplex  Speed Type

    Gi2/1                        notconnect   1            auto   auto 10/100/1000-TX
But for switch-3 the output is empty:
    switch-3
    *** Device Details for switch-3                          ***

    CLI Output
    Template ==>                                  Adhoc_IOS
    CLI Output
Any ideas why there is no output although the job is successful?

You Seems to be using incorrect module of ciscoworks to do this. You are using NetConfig.
Netconfig is one of the Configuration Management applications, and it allows you to change the configuration of network devices, provided the configurations are archived. Netconfig automatically updates the archive when it changes the configuration. When you use it it will try to execute the commands to configure on device and would not be interested in collecting the output.
For show commands you should use the NetShow (Nwtwork Show) module. Network show (NetShow) commands represent a set of read-only commands. These are primarily, show commands that you can run on devices that are managed in LMS.
You can specify the commands that you want to group together and then run these commands on one or many devices. The output is displayed in a browser window.
For more details see the Using NetShow Commands section of Monitoring and Troubleshooting with Cisco Prime LAN Managmement Solution 4.2 guide.

  • LMS 3.2 Invalid license error.

    Hi there
I recently installed LMS3.2 in the setup process it asked me for the *.lic file which I provided. I then installed diffrent updates and patches for LMS. LMS is working int the common services tab. but anything else gives me a error: The license file is invalid. Please click this link for information about obtaining a valid purchase license or click here for current licensing information Otherwise, please contact your Cisco representative for purchasing information.
Can anyone give me a tip on how to fix this error and get all the modules working. The license is a full license for all the add ons.
    Regards

you need to have to original license file
    go to NMSROOT\etc\licenses and backout all the .lic files;
    restart dmgtd (on Windows)
        net stop crmdmgtd
        net start crmdmgtd
after this procedure you should be able to login and re-install the original license file under
Common Services > Server > Admin > Licensing

  • Prime LMS 4.2.1 Netconfig and Template TFTP/SSH issue

I have cisco Prime 4.2.1 installed and am trying to deploy templates and Adhoc Netconfigs. The jobs are failing with the following message:
Command(s) failed on the device TFTP: Failed on the device. SSH: Failed to establish SSH connection to 10.104.114.231 - Cause: Authentication failed on device 3 times.
If I deploy a Netconfig Task, say just adding a Syslog Server to the same switch it succeeds, no problem.
I am using Cisco ACS 5.2 - TACACS and have configured the tacacspromtps.ini file for the username and password prompt. I can log onto the switch with the Prime Account no problem using Telnet. SSH has not been configured on the switch. I can't find where the protocols for connecting to devices are configured within Prime LMS?

    hi gary,
based on my understanding, its because the device is not configured with SSH.
is the device running SSH enabled (K2 or K9) image? if yes, you can enable the SSH.
if no, then perhaps you want to try find it here to change it to telnet

  • LMS 3.2 Apache 403 Error on CGI Scripts

I've been chasing my tail for a couple of days now, and see no other option than to ask here.  It's probably something reall
y dumb that I'm just not seeing.
On a Windows 2008 server with SP1 LMS 3.2 is running fine (as long as no one uses stupid scripts ;o)) on a good day, but whenever I try to access any of the cgi scripts installed under Program Files/CSCOpx/cgi-bin it get the dreaded "You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/dbadmin/pdbadmin/nph-dbreader.pl on this server".  The httpd.conf section for the CGI handling is as follows:
    ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "D:/PROGRA~2/CSCOpx/cgi-bin/"
    <Directory "D:/PROGRA~2/CSCOpx/cgi-bin">
    AllowOverride None
    Options +ExecCGI
    AddHandler cgi-script .pl
    #ScriptInterpreterSource Registry-Strict
    ScriptInterpreterSource Script
    </Directory>
    LoadModule perl_module modules/mod_perl.so
What I would like to know is what have I missed..?  You can see my first attempt by replacing the ScriptInterpreterSource from Registry-Script to the default, Script, to no avail...
Also, if I make any modifications to the httpd.conf file I cannot just restart the Apache daemon, I have to stop and start the daemon manager, otherwise no one can access the web login page: is that normal..?  As in the following:
    The Apache daemon is restarted:
[Fri Dec 11 15:14:38 2009] [notice] Child 6088: Child process is running
[Fri Dec 11 15:14:38 2009] [notice] Child 6088: Acquired the start mutex.
    [Fri Dec 11 15:14:38 2009] [notice] Child 6088: Starting 500 worker threads.

[Fri Dec 11 15:14:38 2009] [notice] Child 6088: Starting thread to listen on port 443.
Lots of the following messages appear in the error.log file:
[Fri Dec 11 15:14:38 2009] [error] [client 10.185.64.101] client denied by server configuration: com.cisco.nm.cmf.servlet.LwmsMainServlet

Any help would be most appreciated...
    Regards,
    Sean

I have no expirience with the W2008 OS yet.
I get the impression it does things differently.
If you know the casuser password, I asume you can try to log onto the server and try an run the perl script in a dos box.
Maybe it will provide a clue.
if you don't know the casuser password you can set it using CSCOpx\bin\resetpasswd.exe.
    Cheers,

  • LMS 3.2 common services error

    Hi all,
I am facing a problem with my LMS 3.2 server. Suddenly I found there is no device reflecing in common services-> device management as well as RME also. I restarted LMS services, server multiple time, reseted casuser, demoted the server from ACS mode to local mode but no luck. However in "dcrcli" i can see all devices and exported all devices to CSV file.
After this I restored from a backup 3 month old when devices were reflecting under common server and RME device management. this also not resolved the problem.
I uninstalled LMS, performed system cleaning and reinstalled LMS 3.2. Then I imported the devices from CSV file i had. Now also the problem not got resolved . I can see devices in dcrcli but none of the device is reflecting under device management of any module.
In Dcmaservice.log i found the error" ERROR,[main],com.cisco.nm.rmeng.config.netshow.server.admin.NSCommandSetManager,getAllCommandSet,8661,Invalid MDF data file:D:/CSCOpx/lib/classpath/com/cisco/nm/cwcs/mdf/mdfdata.xml"
Hence I restored teh mdfdata.xml file from another server. However now i can see the following errors
    1) in common service -> software center -> device updae -> device count are 0 for all module
    2) no device is reflecting under any module
    3) one progress i saw when tring to add any device if selecting device type, it is showing me the list of device type along with OID. before restoring mdfdata.xml it was also not comming.
Please help me to resolve this.

    Hi Martin,
Yes you are correct. I did the fresh installation. Imported all devices from the CSV file. However
    1) none of these device is showing up in CS>device & credential >device manag
    2) Also none of these device are showing up in any other module
    3) In Dcrcli i can see al the devices are there
    4) for testing I added few device manually. Those are also not showing in any module.
Just to inform all the modules are configured with Auto mode along with manage all devices in Auto Allocation settings under device management.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Satya

The issue was not the password, but the security settings.  It seems someone decided to remove the assignment "Log on as a batch job" from the CASUSER rights...  The script itself is a simple perl script that calls DCRCLI to perform additions or deletions...

and compare the content to the clean files Joe posted in this thread:
        https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3153454#3153454
    Note: the parameter DYNAMIC_PORT_ALLOCATION=0 can be added to both files;
If your files (or at least one) are different, then stop the daemon manager. When services are stopped, replace the corrupted file with the one Joe posted. Also move the ctmregistry and ctmregistry.backup files in these directories to a location outside NMSROOT (like C:\Windos\tmp)
    Restart the daemon manager.
If everything is working you can remove the ctmregistry and ctmregisry.backup files you previously moved to C:\Windows\tmp

  • LMS 4.2.5 Netconfig changing port config based on port settings

I am trying to use netconfig to change the port config on my switches. I want to use an adhoc rule to determine if the port already is configured for 802.1x (authentication port-control auto) authentication and then modify those ports to "authentication open".
    IS that possible?
    Thank you for your reaction?
    Regards,
    Robert

  • LMS 3.2 Syslog Collector error

    Hi,
At RME: ToolsSyslogSyslog Collector Status screen at table Collector Status No records.
I had changed hostname on this server and i have ran /opt/CSCOpx/bin/perl /opt/CSCOpx/bin/hostnamechange.pl script with proprer parameters.
Now I cannot add collector, because of  "SSL certificate status" error:
SSL certificate issue occurred, check if:
    1. The Self-signed Certificates are valid. For example, Check the certificate expiry date on the servers.
    2. The Self-signed Certificates of this server are copied to the Syslog Collector server and vice-versa.
To do this, go to Common Services > Server > Security > Multi-Server Trust Management > Peer Server Certificate Setup. and add the certificate. See the User Guide for CiscoWorks Common Services for more details..
3.The SyslogCollector process on Syslog Collector server and the SyslogAnalyzer process in the current working server are restarted after Step 2.
4.Both hosts are reachable by host name.
Collector status : Could not connect to the collector _myhostname_._mydomainname_ due to SSL certificate issue
I use an third party Certificate, and https access is working propery for user access.
I want to run Syslog Collector locally, syslog file is a local server hence I use syslog-ng for other reason.
    This is my SyslogCollector log:
SyslogCollector - [Thread: main] INFO , 24 Mar 2011 16:47:45,305, Logging System Initialized.

How can I correct this situation, how can I run Syslog Collector.
    Balazs

Try unsubscribing and subscribing the collector so it can accept the updated info. If that does not work, post the SyslogAnalyzerUI.log and SyslogCollector.log from CSCOpx/log directory.
