LMS 3.2 DFM email notification problem

Hi,
I got a problem in a newly installed LMS 3.2 with the DFM email notification.
I can see the alerts appering on Alerts&Activities, but DFM would not send any emails.
I can get emails from other moduls of LMS. CS sends me emails from successfully backups.
The SNMP Server works fine. The settings are ok.
I already reinstalled DFM.
I have seen a thread exists on supportforum.cisco.com with the same problem.

Maybe anyone have the answer to this problem.

This looks like an issue I am currently tracking.  I have written a patch which should correct this.  You can get the patch by opening a TAC service request, and having your engineer contact me directly.

    By deafult DFM does not use the DCR Display Name. check the below link:

    To overcome this :
    1> Added the Device Name and IP address on the DNS Server
    2> Modified NMSROOT/objects/smarts/conf/discovery/discovery.conf, and changed the DisplayNameFormat from "AUTOASSIGNED" to "MIBIISYSNAME". 
    That caused DFM to display the sysName as the display name.
    Also set the NameFormat to TM_USEAUTONAME, then restarted daemon Manager (net stop crmdmgtd && net start crmdmgtd )
    Open name-resolver.conf file and make same changes that we have made in  discovery.conf.  ie, the following entry should be there in this file  also.
      #NameFormat = "TM_USESEEDNAME"
      NameFormat = "TM_USEAUTONAME"
    3> Delete and re-add a device in DFM

  • DFM email notification is randomly sent

    Hi,
    on 30 devices that are managed by LMS DFM, at least 10 of them have not generated email notifications, when their serial interface went down. In the past, they used to generate the notification correctly.
    I checked the following:
    - Device in Questioned state? : no , they are fully known in DFM
    - Device is in notification group? : yes
    - Device interface is managed under Device Detaile?: yes
    Are there any logs I can check, so that I can know if it's an LMS-related issue or an email  issue?

  • DFM email notification setup

    Hi All,
    I have LMS 2.6 and DFM 2.0.10, configured email notification for one Subscription "INL" as sender address [email protected] to [email protected]
    Recently I have configured another Subscription "POY" for another bunch of devices as sender "[email protected]" only to [email protected]
    I am receiving mails to [email protected] but not to [email protected]
    Can someone look into this issue and tell me what needs to be done.

    Hi,
    First thing I'd check is if you are generating alarms for "POY" in the Alerts and Activities. If they are present then I'd verify I can send email to [email protected] from the LMS server. If you can then we will need to examine some files.
    You can start troubleshooting by verifying the configuration of your second group.
    Creating a Notification Subscription
    To create a notification subscription, perform the following steps:
    1.  If you want to monitor a specific set of events, create an event set that contains the events you want to monitor. Otherwise, all events and alerts will be monitored.
    2.  Create a notification group that specifies the criteria DFM should use when generating notifications:
    One or more event sets (if no event set is specified, all events and alerts are monitored)
    Devices, alert severity and status, and event severity and status
    You can specify the notification group name, along with entering identifying information (using the Customer ID and Customer Revision fields).
    3.  Create a subscription by doing the following:
        a.  Select the notification type (SNMP Trap, E-Mail, or Syslog).
        b.  Name the subscription and apply a notification group to it.
        c.  Specify the recipients (hostname, e-mail address).
        d.  Save the subscription. It will automatically start running.
    Troubleshooting SMTP
    From the LMS server, telnet to your SMTP server on TCP port 25, and make sure you can:
    1.  Connect to the server
    2.  Issue the following command:
        HELO IP
    Where IP is the IP address of the LMS server. The mailserver should grant you access to send email.
    If that works, start a sniffer trace filtering on all tcp/25 traffic between the LMS server and the SMTP server. Generate new DFM events which should trigger email notifications, then check the sniffer trace to see what is happening.

    In these options there are UserDefined fields. I would like the IP address added to our DFM email alerts and was wondering if that can be done by defining one of the UserDefined lines. If so, where do you modify these?

  • IPhone 4 email notification problems! Please Help

    Email notifications wont work anymore on the iPhone 4 anymore.  I have to manually click the email app.  Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know how to fix this problem?

    Oh, OK, so your big issue is with Notification Center.  Personally, I have mail off in Notification Center, but my iPhone buzzes anyway when locked, which happens to be enough info for me.
    But I see your original post says you have set up Notification Center properly to give you visual as well as audio clues you have email waiting, but it's not working.
    I wonder if resetting your iPhone would help.  Try holding the home and on/off buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

    Just want to see if anyone/everyone out there has the same problem getting email notificaiton using default email app for gmail or any other email with all the setting enabled.   (I am not talking about gmail email app)

Just checked my Account Profile and found that the Bill Notifications box was not checked and I think that is the setting that controls the bill notification email (and/or SMS). I have been getting notifications each month for quite a while, so I am guessing some Verizon maintenance update caused the check to be removed. I have activated Bill Notification again so now I guess I just have to wait and see if I get one next month.
    I suggest you check your account profile to see if the Bill Notifications setting has somehow been turned off.
    Edit: I See you edited your post while I was writing mine.  I do not use paper-free billing so that is one difference.

  • DFM Email notifications not working - HTTP status 500 error in DFM 2.0.10

    I have recently upgraded...
    CiscoWorks Common Services from 3.0.5 – 3.0.6
    Campus Manager 4.0.6 – 4.0.10 - 4.0.13
    Device Fault Manager 2.0.6 – 2.0.10
    Now Email notifications stoped working, it was working fine before.
    Even when I was upgrading CM from 4.0.6 to 4.0.10, it worked fine meanwhile. After upgraded it from 4.0.10 to 4.0.13, it stoped working completely.
    Before I had same issue and resloved by creating new notification group and subscribed.
    Now when I am trying to create new notification group I am getting the below error message

  • Email Notifications problem with iphone 4

    I can't seem to turn of my email notifications sound for either mbox mail or "iphone mail" (googlemail account), unless the phone is on silent. For the mbox mail I've gone to settings>mbox mail>sounds and turned them off for new mail and sent mail, but I still get an alert sound when new mail comes through. The only way I can stop it is to turn off push mail notifications in the mbox mail program itself, but then obviously I have to then manually fetch my mail which is not ideal.
    For the "iphone mail" i've gone to settings>sounds>new mail and turned it off, but I still get a notification sound.
    Has anyone else found this or am I doing something wrong?

    Ok, so now I've managed to turn the sounds off for "iphone mail", but now push mail is not working for mbox mail. Do I need to turn the phone off and on for changes in mbox mail to take effect?

  • HTMLDB/APEX - Email notification problem

    Email notification is not sent AUTOMATICALLY to the user's email address when 'reset password' functionality is used or the administrator changes the password.
    I managed to do that by drilling down to Home> Manage Service> Manage Mail Queue and pressing 'Send All Mail'. Is there a way to get it automated?

    Once your mail request has been submitted try pushing the queue using apex_mail.push_queue(). The default wait time is going to be 10 or 15 minutes if set up to do so.

  • Email notification problem on the scsm additional server

    Hi all :)
    we have a SCSM management server with some OS issues, i have been asked to install additional SCSM management server and remove the old one, so i prepared another server and i did install a SCSM management server role on that server (in the installation
    wizard i did point to the Service manager DB from the old server) then the installation has been completed successfully and the new server shows the exact same data as the old one, i have also promoted the new server to be the main server,
    when i shutdown the old server the new server works fine but
    the outbound emails notification doesn't work for some reason, i have
    tested sending an email via telnet using the SCSM workflow account and it works fine !! , any one can help me please ???

    you can make the new server a workflow server by following the guide under Step 1 - Reconfigure the Workflow Server, from the article I posted:

    but you said, that you have already done it, so your new server has to be the workflow server. This you can check again with the query:

  • LMS 3.2 DFM Event Summary problem

    Hi all,
    I have two issues, and one question:
    Issues:
    1)
    In the DFM portlet, under DFM Evnets Summary I see a list stating that I have 2 devices that have Event Name as Duplicate. When I click on the number 2, it opens up Device Fault Manager - Alerts and Activities, but it's show with no records. This has been like this for quite some time now... Any ideas on how to fix this?
    2)
    I've got 5 devices in DFM that are in the DFM Device Status as Questioned. They don't exist in CS, RME nor any other place. I went to DFM Device Management and under Rediscover/Delete, and was going to delete the devices from DFM, but the delete button is grayed out. How can I remove the devices from DFM?
    And now for the Question:
    I sometimes get an event in DFM Alerts and Activities that looks like this:

    It sounds like your DFM databases may have gotten out of sync with the rest of LMS.  You can clear the first two problems by following the steps in https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-8796 to reinitialize the dfmEpm, dfmInv, dfmFh, DFM.rps, and DFM1.rps databases.  Do not reinitialize the others.
    As for the delete button being grayed out, this is expected when DFM is in auto-manage mode.  To activate this button, go to DFM > Device Management > Device Import and disable auto-manage mode.
    The config management trap you're seeing will occur whenever the config changes on the device.  This event should clear on its own.

  • Email Notification Problem

    Hi,
    We are currently having a few issues with the email activity. We can send email successfully, but at present only with the email body text as an html attachment.
    The few queries we have are:
    1 ) Does the email body have to be sent as an attachment (i.e. is this the functionality of the email activity?)
    2 ) The multipart message setting doesn't always retain the value entered. For example, if i was to set the value to 0, Jdeveloper would reset it to 1. At present i am assuming this is because of the email body being sent as an attachment. Does Jdeveloper have rules governing value settings?
    3 ) When setting an attachment such as a pdf, copy rules are created automatically by the email activity according to the multipart message setting. The problem we are having is that when editing each rule we get the message:
    "XML schema type 'anyType' and xml schema elements 'any' and 'anyAttribute' are not supported in the UI, but it is supported in the server. You can still try to type in XPath in the text area below."
    This means that we have to manually enter the multipart message path in the XPath textbox to set an attachment. Is there a better way than this?

    When you add an email activity to your process,by default it sets the email body as multi part.In case you want to send a plain text email ,you can try out a work around i applied (Though i have not applied any patch).Go to the source .bpel file of your process and comment the section in the main sequence where the mixed message content is stated.
    1.Comment or remove that particular section.

  • EWA Report Issue: Email notification problem

    Hi,
    I am running into a problem while sending EWA notifications to the concerned members. I have defined the needed user ids in table "DSWP_SYS_EMAIL" and all the members are duly getting all the EWA alerts defined against respective systems except one user. I have checked in SOST, this user name is not displayed every monday when these EWA reports are sent. I am not sure where else I have to look for solving this error. May any one please help and guide me in this?

    Thanks for your reply. I had updated the respective user id in the above way mentioned by you last week and it seems now the user has received it (checked in SOST and user was sent EWA report).
    However, if the BADI is acitivated (as we are specifying the user ides for each system) why I need to mention this user in separately? I believe, any one of them will be active...Am I correct in this/
