LMS 3.2: DFM3.2.0 error

I faced one problem about my ciscoworks 3.2 which is DFM3.2.0 cannot up. others likes RME,CM and IPM was successfully running and configured.
i have added devices to DFM, the devices on learning status. so that, all other functions cannot be configured as normal.
at DFM home page, on High Severity Alerts, the error message states "an exception occured. Please Check the AAD.log file for further details".
i have check the file and it has said about "ogs_server_urn cannot be found". i have checked to process status and restarts all the ogs_server but DFM still not function.
please guide me, i am beginner to ciscoworks.

Hi,
kindly make an entry of cisco works in the HOSTS file.
Location: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
x.x.x.x
for e.g
10.78.141.29    ciscoworks
then restart the daemon manager and check the issue.
Thanks

  • LMS 2.6 User Tracking - Application error: URN_NOT_FOUND

    Hi,
When I run a quick report in Campus Manager (User Tracking  > Reports) I get the following error appearing in a window:
    Application error: URN_NOT_FOUND :  urn "ogs_server_urn" : Not found !!.
    Could anybody help me?
    I attach the ctm_config.txt file
    thanks

From which directory did you get this ctm_config.txt?  I need to see the ones under NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/campus/WEB-INF/lib and NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/cmapps/WEB-INF/lib.
Since this is LMS 2.6, I also need to see the output of the pdshow command.

  • LMS 3.2: Software Distribution - Generic Error

    Hy.
I need to roll out an IOS on r.a. 250 devices. But when I try to distribute any software image via RME I always get the same error. I'm unable to start the job because in step one after selecting image and devices I get "failure" for all devices. When I click on "failure" a pop-up window opens telling me "generic error". Please have a look at the attached screenshot.
What does this mean and how can I fix this? This is really urgent!
All devices are completely managable (and managed) by the LMS.
    Thank in advance!
    Marc

Which IOS image are you trying to deploy and which device ?
Go to Common Services --> Software Center --> Software Update and provide screenshot.
Go to RME --> Admin --> Software Management ---> View/Edit Software Prefrences and check to see if "Include Cisco.com image "  for recommendation is selected.  If not, check them.
Try a different image that is higher that the current one and or use a GD image.

Have you installed 4.2 first? The 4.2.x releases require a working installation of 4.2 to build upon.

I upgraded CiscoWorks LMS from 3.0 to 3.2 today.  Everything worked prior to the upgrade.
The upgrade was successful, with no errors, and all services started.
Can anyone help, and check everything and I see no problem. The system creates the file MDCSupportInformation.zip me clean without any content.
    I add the installation log file;
And tell them that after upgrading to 3.2, you carge the following patches:

You have a BUNCH of the ChannelSocket$SocketConnection exceptions.
    The next step for you:
Check the running processes via cmd line (pdshow -brief).
Check that all processes are running as expected.  If they are then take a look at what is keeping ports open on your box (netstat -anob).  From above, the reason may be an application occupying a port LMS needs.  Also check the Windows error logs.
Check the following services, they should look like:
    Ciscoworks ANI database engine :Manual

    CiscoWorks RME NG database :Manual
CiscoWorks Tomcat Servlet engine : Manual

  • LMS 4.1 - dbreader.html -- Authorization error with DB-Users

    Hi all,
in our lab-environment we installed LMS 4.1 from scratch.
Trying to connect to eg. ani-db via URL (https://<server>/dbreader/dbreader.html) with user cwsiSA I got error message
    stating "Authorization error".
    Is that default behavior?
We need SQL-Connect to DB-Tables, as some "self-written" perl-scripts try to collect data.
Are there any steps necessary to enable access to DB-Tables (and Views) ?
    Thanks for your feedback
    Lothar

Probably the user role is missing this authorization.  Go to Admin > System > User Management > Role Management Setup, and make sure the role assigned to this user includes DBreader access.  You are looking for Lan Management Solution > Admin > System > DBReader Access.

  • CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 SMTP configuration giving error

    HI Friends,
I have installed Ciscoworks 3.2 on Dell poweredge 2950 server, when i try to configure SMTP email notification settings, it's giving me error "Invalid IP address or server name please enter valid SMTP server name"
Request you to all please help me.

    Hi,
I had the same situation on my LMS 3.2.
I had to change the SMTP server and got the message, that the IP-address or name of the server is invalid.
I changed the file, too. But it is not working.
For testing I created a new discovery job and the system sends a info mail to for such activity.
I got the following error message:
MailID is not given by user. Hence, No mail will be sent for this scheduling.
Maybe somebody can give more advice to this.
    Thanks,
    Sven

  • LMS 3.2 for Windows Installation Error

I'm trying to install LMS 3.2 by either upgrading our current 2.6 installation or installing a fresh server.  In either case I receive the following error:

    @Windows Server2003 Service Pack 2 (3790)
    IE Version: 8.0.6001.18702

Try downloading the software from cisco.com/go/marketplace and click on "Cisco Promotional Store" > CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution (Windows) 3.2.
This would download an .exe and when you run this .exe file, it would download the LMS 3.2 application. With your existing license file, you will get a full blown version of the software.

  • LMS 4.1 - Job approval Disable error

    Hi all,
I have created VRF from LMS 5.1. some days ago i created it sucessful but now it gives me job fail and reason is Job Approval Disable.
Can anyone give hint what is the problem
    Please help.
    i have attached the images

Job Approval is an option which it just notifies, that it is disabled. Like other options, ie Email Notification, Parallel Execution, Job Password etc.
Job approval is an option where help desk users after creating any job need to wait for execution of job till a user with Approver priviliedge has not approved the job.
The Failure may have some other underlying problem, like incorrect credentials etc. On fail device you should check the failure reason.

I had this same error last week and found that I just needed to add a course description to the .crs file.  Here's what I did:
    - Opened the .crs file in WordPad or NotePad
    - Found the spot in the .crs file were it said [Course Description]
    - Typed the name of the course after this field.
It seemed to do the trick.  I'm still not able to get the AICC package to play correctly or record the score, but it loads to our LMS without the CRS error, at least.

currently running LMS 3.2 get the following error message when running the Eol/Eos report: under reason for failure get unable to get data from Cisco.com try again later. using the same login that is used to login to Cisco.com.

The online version of this report is currently broken.  We have been working to fix it for a while now, but unfortunately, I do not have an ETA.  The workaround is to use the offline report mode, and download the data from http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cw2000-rme .

  • Cisco LMS 4.2.3 - Nexus VDC - SNMP

    Hi All,
I am having some trouble with getting inventory collection work for the VDC's of a Nexus 7k from LMS 4.2.3.
The collection works for the main VDC, just not any of the others.
I have verified (using SNMPWALK) from the LMS server that the snmp credentials in use on the LMS for these VDC's is correct.
    We are using SNMP V3.
The error I am getting when trying to run an inventory collection is:
Device Collection Failed. Failed to fetch Containment details.
Does anyone have any experience with getting VDC's to work in LMS and may have seen this error before?
    Thanks in advance.
