LMS 3.2 factory default Archive Mgmt Exclude commands

I'm working through LMS 3.2 initial setup and got to configuring device config commands to be ignored for alerting.
I notice that the Archive Mgmt Exclude commands for the Device Category "Routers" has a factory default Exclude list
"end,exec-timeout,length,width,certificate,ntp clock-period"
However, it seems that the "Switches and Hubs" Device Category has no exclude list configured by default, so I'm getting ntp clock-period alerts for my IE3000 switches for example.
Does anyone here have an opinion or reason why I shouldn't copy the default exclude list from the Routers category "end,exec-timeout,length,width,certificate,ntp clock-period" to the Switches and Hubs category?

Actually, on this subject. It's quite difficult to show which entries have which settings and therefore which item in the hiearchy is taking prcedence. Would be nice to have a similar kind of system ala the DFM overriding group.
Anyway, until then
is there some config or properties file somewhere where I can see a better overall view? (and maybe reconfigure them) [fingers crossed]

Config Archive Mgmt failed LMS 3.2

Archive mgmt failed for 14 devices and working fine for only 2 devices..The communicaion between the LMS and Switches is through SSH,but ssh also failed.

i have tried from ur below instructions,i have attached logs from packet capture and the tftp permission denied error.
Am receiving an error permission denied while copying vlan.dat file from switch to tftp server (LMS Server) same error i can see in packet capture,Is it anywhere in LMS server i have to give permission for TFTP server.
I tried installing a different vendor TFTP server but the LMS TFTP is listening on this port.How can i disable the tftp port on LMS server and open for open vendor product such tftpd32.exe OR solarwinds tftp server.
LMS Server IP add 10.28.73.50 and the switch IP add 10.28.72.2

Factory Defaults in Mac Mini and Possible Trade-Up?

I have questions that have probably been answered or maybe not, so I'm sorry in advance.
I'd like to restore my Mac Mini to its factory defaults. Since I'm a Windows-user-almost-turned-Mac-user, I'm still learning, but it's just difficult for me. The reason I'd like to do this is so that I can hopefully sell it and eventually buy a Macbook with the money I get on it.
That being said, I'd also like to ask if there is possibly a way I can bring my Mac Mini to, say, a local Apple Store and "trade up" to a Macbook--and pay whatever difference with cash. Again, I'm very new to this, so thank you all for your forebearance.

I'd like to restore my Mac Mini to its factory defaults.
Easy enough to do, insert the install disc, restart the Mac and hold the C key down. You can select erase and install, which wipes everything out, or archive and install which preserves your home folder.

If you are in the 14 day purchase period then yes you can do a return/purchase. After that no, and in fact I don't know any computer company that will let you trade up to another model after you go beyond the return period.
The mini and Macbook are nearly identical in specs and the speed difference in the mini's clock rate is minimal. If you need a portable solution I suggest you purchase the Macbook as opposed to the mini. I own both and I'm very pleased with both of them and I think either one you buy will be a great computer to work and play with

Need help resetting the Surface Pro 3 Back to factory Defaults

Hey guys need some help. I have a Surface Pro 3 we were trying to image. No Luck. We have given up for now and tryingto go back to factory defaults. Luckily I made a restore USB before I did anything. Here is the problem:
Somehow we screwd up the UEFI settings and it wont even find the drive. I Keep changing the settings but everytime i go to "Reset Your PC" and repartition drives I get a "Unable to reset your PC. The system Drive cannot be found"
message.
I See no clear way of setting it back to Factory Defaults but here is the Screen BIOS/UEFI screen settings
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Enabled
(Tried Both No luck)
Secure Boot Control Disabled
(Tried Both No luck)

Yes you can. From CLI of Mars:
[pnadmin]$ pnreset -h
Usage: pnreset or pnreset option.
        Default. With no options pnreset restores the appliance to factory
        defaults and purges all configuration and event data (certificate and
        fingerprints stored to validate reporting devices, topology settings,
        archived logs, and the license key information).
    -h Displays this usage information.
    -g Removes the Global Controller data from a Local Controller, leaving
        the Local Controller-specific data and the Global Controller
        communication information untouched. Use this option only after
        a Global Controller crash or recovery. In this case, "pnreset -g"
        must be executed on every Local Controller that was monitored by
        the failed Global Controller.
    -s Removes the Global Controller communication information and resets
        a Local Controller to standalone mode. It removes the Global Controller
        data and connectivity data from the Local Controller as well as the
        default Controller zone information. Use this option only after
        a failed Delete of the Local Controller entry from the Global Controller
        "Local Controller Management" web page.
    -o Resets the tnsnames.ora file to factory default. The tnsnames.ora file
        is required for the Oracle client to connect to the Oracle server.
    -j Resets the web server scheduler depending on Local Controller's
        running mode. A restart of web server is enforced.

CSM 4.0 SP1 - Restore Factory Defaults

Hello all. We need to restore factory defaults on a CSM 4.0 SP1 server, and need to do it without re-installing the server. Can't find an option to do this, so that CSM can start from scratch with no devices or policies, and with all default settings. Is there a way to do this? I believe just deleting devices and policies will not cut it, we need to make sure that the database is clean and factory default.

mm, I could not find the proper documentation (i see it for LMS...) anyway, you can try the following:
1- stop the server
net stop crmdmgtd
2- Erase the DBs
set NMSROOT=c:\progra~2\cscopx
%NMSROOT%\bin\perl %NMSROOT%\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=cmf dmprefix=Cmf npwd=admin
%NMSROOT%\bin\perl %NMSROOT%\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=vms dmprefix=vms npwd=admin
If using Performance Monitoring (MCP):
%NMSROOT%\bin\perl %NMSROOT%\bin\dbRestoreOrig.pl dsn=mcp dmprefix=mcp npwd=admin
NOTE:
NMROOT is the root where CSM is installed. I am assuming you are using default settings for Win2008 but you need to change if you installed somewhere else
3- restart the server.
net start crmdmgtd
Please note that all you data will be lost. Also, make sure to have the license handy as it might be required to install the license again.
Also I would suggest you do a backup of your DB before you perform these steps

But now, there is a processing circle on top of the logo, but the circle spins once, and stops at about halfway to the bottom. It just stays there, and about every half to one hour it becomes a white screen and starts all over again. (not the loading bar part, just the circle). I've tried holding the power and the home button, and it works, but it just goes back to the circle screen with the apple logo. HELP PLEASE?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

How do I reset an iPad 2 to factory defaults when I can't recall the Restriction passcode?

I have tried all of the suggested reset methods and still cannot reset to factory defaults. Somehow I setup a restrictions passcode that I can't find or remember so I seem to bee stuck.

The only option is to wipe the device clean and restore it to factory settings.
Follow the instructions in iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 to restore the device to factory settings.
Once you have setup the device as a new one, you can then sync it back with your iTunes account and all your music, apps, contacts and any other content sync'ed with iTunes will be loaded on the device. Any content that is stored only on the device and not sync'ed with iTunes, like app logins or data, will be lost during this process. Be forewarned that this is a long process and can take a couple of hours or more to complete. This can be painful, but it is necessarily so to prevent users from working around the security settings. After the restore is complete, you can setup a new Restrictions passcode. Make a note of the passcode to avoid this situation in future.

I was thinking that some of the songs in your library may have been purchased under a different apple id. You have already done the first thing I would have done by de authorizing and re authorizing. To verify this, highlight one of the songs that will not sync over and use File>Get Info. In the Summary section there will be an Apple ID entry. If it shows something different than what you are currently using then I recommend signing into the Apple ID it shows and authorizing the computer for that one as well.

Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Try a reset of your iPad by holding down the power button and hone button simultaneously until your iPad screen goes black and the Apple Logo reappears on screen, then let go of the buttons.

C855-S5190 restored via recovery to factory defaults, ran the Toshiba updater, no Windows Update

I'm desperately searching for help! My elderly father has a C855-S5190 and after trying the update to Windows 8.1 from the store, the laptop doesn't boot all the way up - kept giving various errors. So, he dropped if off for me to try to fix. I couldn't get around it so I did the restore to factory defaults from the restore disks.
After that all finished, I tried the Toshiba service station and it gave me about 7 updates that I installed. After that, I rebooted and then wanted to see about doing the Windows 8.1 update. Went to Windows Store - it says I need to do Windows Updates. I went to search, and now there's no Windows Update showing anywhere. I checked settings, and everything is empty under there as well. What happened??
If someone could tell me how I can possibly do the Windows Updates. I tried this once before trying the service center, the updates either fail, or they install, then it reboots, can't configure them, and gets stuck in a loop of trying to roll things back. That caused me to have to do another restore to factory defaults - I've had to do it 4 times so far, and I just don't want to get stuck in that loop again. So, I need to know what happened to my Windows Update, how do I get it back, and how the heck do I get this thing updated to 8.1?
I booted a Linux live media before starting and was able to recover the files, etc., he had on it to a USB flash drive since I knew doing the restore would wipe that all out.

Here's the link to the Microsoft page, I had to do this to get Windows Update to run. The Windows 8.1 upgrade would not let me do the upgrade until Windows Update was run, and I kept getting this error. It takes a *long* time for this to straighten out if you've done a factory defaults restore - several reboots, etc..

So, I found out how to fix this issue. In "My Computer" right click on the iPod and format it. I chose to format it using FAT and Default allocation size. After that, I opened iTunes and it recognized my iPod Shuffle. It said it wasn't formatted properly but gave me the option to restore it to factory defaults which fixed everything. Way to go Self. It is a brick! But I did somehow get into the iPhoto section and was able to find the Former owner that owned the iPad and was able to contact him VIA FaceTime. on my iMac. He was of little help because he was not the original owner, but he bought the iPad as I did from a huge supplier and i was able to contact that supplier who refused to give out any information about the previous owner. I had the iPad hooked up to my somehowiMac via the USB cable and went through the setup procedure to no avail. Then after pressing the Home button several times it somehow went to the iPhotos that were on the iPad? There were 2 pictures of the owners email address. I then copied them to my iMac and used iPhoto app to enlarge the photos. It worked.So there is a way,just takes time to somewhat hack into Find My iPad?Phone.
Personally, it is not Apple's responsibility to protect customers of their personal DATA. With such a high security application. Then of coarse it is a great idea. Then again it is the responsibility of the former owner to wipe and rest the iPad before reselling it. This being the case like those sold on eBay and elsewhere that are ID Locked should not be allowed to be sold. Personally the ID lock is much like a VIN number of a car. In most states one cannot sell a car without the VIN Numbers. Somewhat the same thing should be true of ID Locks
