LMS 4.0 Fault Management Module alert doesn't show CurrentUtilization

Hi,
I would like to know if there's a way to show CurrentUtilization percentage within the messages generated by the Fault Management Module in LMS 4.0
EVENT ID                = 00008Z1
TIME                    = S
STATUS                  = Active
SEVERITY                = Critical
MANAGED OBJECT          = switch
MANAGED OBJECT TYPE     = Switches and Hubs
EVENT DESCRIPTION       = HighUtilization::Component=PORT-switch/11150 [Gi3/0/50] [---> TRUNK ];ComponentClass=Port;ComponentEventCode=1057;TrafficRate=5.2261432E7  BYPS;DuplexMode=FULLDUPLEX;UtilizationThreshold=40;MaxSpeed=1000000000;Type
NOTIFICATION ORIGINATOR = Fault Management Module
As you can see above CurrentUtilization percentage is not shown in Event Description section.
Could someone help?
Thank you!
Massimiliano.

To my knowledge nothing can be configured here.
You have to take traffic rate and max speed and do the calculation yourself
FAD! functioning as designed

  • Cannot generate a Key. Manage Account menu doesn't show up even after following Help articles. Correct username, e-mail and password. I already have a Firefox Sync Account but cannot Add a Device. No way to Sync due to no Key.

I cannot generate a Key to Sync between two computers. Manage Account menu doesn't show under Options > Sync > Firefox Sync Setup > I already have a Firefox Sync Account > I don't have the Device with me. No Sync Key no matter how hard I tried.

Yes I did. '''''I solved this issue last night.''''' First I had to Clear My Sync Data, then Yes I Already Have a Sync Account [enter User, Password] and only then the Key appeared in its proper field. Went to the 2nd computer and wrote down the Key after I Already Have a Sync Account. The bottleneck was to enter into Mozilla server after resetting pass and user, and then, clear data.

    Hi,
The unidentified trap message in fault manager is expected when LMS receives a trap that is not in the list of traps that the fault manager is capable of processing.
Here are the traps that fault manager can process:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management_solution/4-2/user/guide/lms_monitor/lms_mnt/TrapFwd.html
The SNMP traps are only processed by the fault manager and as per the document above the ones that will be identified are pre-defined and the list cannot be modified.
    Clearing an Unidentified Trap
You can manually clear Unidentified Traps from LMS. To do this:
Step 1 Select the Unidentified Trap and click Clear.
A message appears prompting you to confirm the clearing.
Step 2 Enter your user ID.
This will be used as a reference to identify who cleared the Unidentified Trap.
Step 3 Click OK to confirm.
    The Unidentified trap is cleared.
To retain the trap click Cancel.

  • LMS 4.01 Fault management says "Sorry there was an error"

    Dears,
I find myself confronted with an indcation of multiple errors bu no way of viewing them in Faultview.
Other parts of the application do see the errors
At the same time I find the events from syslog ar no longer visisble in LMS.
They still come in the syslog.log, they are read by LMS because the automated action still fire.
But the syslog reports are empty.
What is the common factor here that can cause this.
    Cheers,

    Thanks Nael,
I've click on the number 47 in the faul panel as well as refreshing the entire page. This does not help
I've also tried to select various device groups and sometimes the router group say there are no errors. Going back to the switches group or "all devices" give the same "Sorry an errors occured"

  • Transunion alert doesn't show up?

I've received emails and text messages showing an update on my fico but when I login the only thing showing is my update from a week ago. Any ideas?

In iTunes, you can enable disk usage for your iPod Classic. which means that you can store notes, contacts and others things. If this is enabled, than you will see the iPod icon on your desktop and you can eject it. However, if it is turned off, then, the iPod will be safe to eject automatically after you have sync your things.

  • Profit Center Report doesn't show data

    Dear Experts,
I've posted some data thru FB50 in FI, with different cost center assignment 1201 and 1202.  Both cost centers are assigned to profit centers, YB110 and YB120 respectively in master data.
Then, I tried to run a profit center report, S_ALR_87013326 from Profit Center Accounting (PCA) module but doesn't show any data.
Do I need to do any period-end processing in order to get the data out from PCA report?
By the way, the selection required for plan version, I just keyed in '0'.  Not sure of the number, where to find the plan version as I didn't create any plan before this.

  • LMS 4.2.2 Fault manager does not resolve hostname for some devices

This is Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.2 on Windows 2008 R2
As far as I understand it Fault Manager need to be able to do reverse lookup for ip adresses to show the correct name in the "device name" column. I have double and tripple checked and all devices that only is shown as an ip address do have a reverse in the dns used by the LMS server.
The device is correctly registered and inventory have been run. If I hold the mouse pointer over the crosshair on the row of the offending device all info is shown including correct device name and fqdn.
The server is upgraded from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 and we have the same problem before the upgrade.

The problem may occur if the lookup was not possible when the device was added to fault management.
Faultmanager, unlike the rest of LMS, does not update the display name.
If the resolver.pl in /opt/CSCOpx/bin is able to get the device name, then resolution is fine.
The only workarrounds are to the delete the device from LMS and re-add it, or use cli tools on the server to remove and re-add the device from the DFM repository.

  • LMS 4.2 Fault Monitor - Device Name and Frequency of Events

    Hi all,
I've just installed LMS 4.2, like it a lot so far.  But I'm running into a few problems, and I'm hoping someone out here has a suggestion.
In the Fault Monitor, the Device Name column shows the device's IP address rather than the host name.  We need for it to show the host name, for ease of troubleshooting; most folks don't have the IP addresses memorized.    Likewise, when an email is sent out for an event, the managed device field also shows up as the device's IP address.
The devices were all discovered with their IP addresses rather than a host name...should LMS have automatically found their host names?  Regardless, I manually updated all of the device's host names, yet they still display as an IP address in the fault monitor.
Also, it appears I need to figure out some way to throttle alerts.  One particular device will report an event (ie a temperature out of range) dozens of times in a polling period...several per second, even though it's the same alert.  Any suggestions on where I can throttle this?  My inbox is exploding.
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it!
    Jen

I am having the IP vs. device name issue as well. The funny thing is if you hover over the IP of the device in Fault Monitor, you can see the device name listed. I was on a conference call with Cisco recently and pointed this out. One of the reps said the faults and alerts showing IP address issue should be fixed in version 4.2.3, but I don't know if he was basing this on first-hand knowledge or was just assuming. Does anyone know if this is the case?
As for throttling alerts. I had a false positive alert from a device that I put in a custom fault group and changed the threshold on to keep them from firing. You probably have already resolved this issue, but I didn't see a resolution listed here. You would have to determine if raising a threshold for a device is adequate for your situation.
    Thank you,
    Mark

  • General Protection Fault in module WIN87EM.DLL while Running Windows XP Mode

I am attempting to run a legacy, 16-bit program, P3, on a Windows XP Mode Virtual Machine, hosted by a Windows 7 x64 box. When performing various activities in the program, I receive "P3 caused a General Protection Fault in module WIN87EM.DLL
at 0001:02C6." This occurs on multiple platforms (Core i5, Core 2 Duo).
Based on my research, I have found "The Windows 80x87 emulator library,
WIN87EM.DLL, works at the 16-bit-Windows level
to virtualize the coprocessor among multiple Windows-based applications that run inside the system VM."
It appears to me that, with the Virtual Machine using a Virtualized Processor (not related to the above reference to "virtualized coprocessor") as opposed to an emulated processor, the Virtual Math Coprocessor Device (VMCPD) and/or WIN87EM.DLL
generate an error from the virtualized processor (perhaps they do no recognize it?)
In addition "When the kernel loads an application, it checks to see if floating-point hardware is present. If a coprocessor is not present, the kernel uses the
fixup records to replace the actual floating-point instructions with
Interrupt 3x calls to emulation code in WIN87EM.DLL."
I have found some information that points to "hiding" the math coprocessor from the Virtual Machine, so it doesn't go to the processor. This apparently can be achieved by using a program called WinFloat which includes a tool called HIDE87, which is suppose
to hide the math coprocessor from the kernal.
The issue I'm running into is, to properly achieve this, HIDE87 must be loaded before Windows. I have tried a couple techniques, but I think I'm doing it wrong. I have tried adding the HIDE87 program to the System32 directory and then adding
HIDE87 (just before autocheck autochk *) to BootExecute under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
    key.
For a little more info, when you run HIDE87 from the command prompt it reads "HIDE87: Int 11h hook installed (must reboot to remove)." The documentation says this is what needs to occur before Windows loads. You can find WinFloat here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/97265.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

This link helped point me to winfloat to solve the very same issue with WIN87EM.dll crashing under Windows XP on VMware 5 for an old legacy Windows 3.1.  I thought I would mention that the original approach taken by tstock_sjc should work fine.   First
off, winfloat is a self extracting executable and we really don't want to run winfloat, but rather hide87.com which is a tiny TSR that is inside the winfloat archive.  When you run any DOS or Windows 3.1 executable, Windows XP first boots up (if one isn't
already running) a mini-MSDOS 5 environment called NTVDM.exe.   Just as with the original MSDOS, when the shell loads, it loads files similar to config.sys and autoexec.bat.   Of course, there are more restrictions on drivers and not everything
under MSDOS is emulated but nevertheless, it is a fairly good approximation of an MSDOS 5 environment.  The issue that tstock_sjc had was NTVDM.exe looks for %WINDIR%\system32\autoexec.nt and %WINDIR%\system32\config.nt instead of autoexec.bat
and config.sys.  If you extract hide87.com out of winfloat.exe and place it into the %WINDIR%\system32 directory and add a line like %SystemRoot%\system32\hide87.com to the end of autoexec.nt , NTVDM will indeed load this TSR before launching its emulated
copy of of Windows 3.1 (wowexec.exe).  When the 16 bit application is finally launched after wowexec.exe, the coprocessor is then masked.  It worked fine for me anyway (after applying changes and rebooting).  Under process monitor I could clearly
see NTVDM.exe reading autoexec.nt and hide87.com and the WIN87EM.dll GP fault went away.

  • LMS 3.1 Multiserver management Snap ins

    I have two
different LMS 3.1 servers at two different locations.
    1st @ Site A &
    2nd @ Site 2
Both have diffrent (site spacific TACACS+) ACS servers. Now I want to monitor Site A DFM alerts from Site B LMS Screen. What are the ways to do that & any extra license is required for same ?

    1. Go to LMS site B from the server you want to monitor Site A .
    2. Common Services ---> Server ---> Home Page Admin ---> Application Registration ---> Select Device Fault Manager --> Register.
    3. Select Import from other servers ---> Next ---> and input Site A information.
    4. Click Next.
    5. The import application page appears with list of registered servers.
    6. Select one or more of the application you want. (DFM) in this case.
    7. Click Next.
    8. Click Finish.
The imported information will appear on the home page of Site B.

  • Ciscoworks LMS 4.0 – Fault Device Details Issue

We currently use Ciscoworks LMS 4.0 but when I go into,  Monitor > Fault Settings > Setup > Fault Device Details
I get the following message (see attached document with screenshot) and being a LMS newbie am unsure what to do? As have tried to search for this
           file but no luck.
So thanks in advance for any advice.

Check if the fault management rediscovery page shows device as discovered and known or does it have any errors?
Are you able to generate any fault management reports and view other pages?
Just try to reboot the server/restart daemon to see if it is goes away.
Else it is mostly corrupt FM DB. Which would need to be re-initialized.
Fault Mgmt reinitialize is very simple task, which doesnt removes a lot of data, except past 31 days of FM history and custom notifications, if configured.
    Thanks

  • Configuration Manager Module - modify expanded property?

I am playing around with the Configuration Manager module  - specifically I am trying to modify properties of a maintenance window.
If I run: get-CMMaintenanceWindow -collectionID xxxxxxxx
It pulls back the collection by the ID and displays some other properties (duration, name, description, etc). I am interested in modifying the property called "IsEnabled". I can narrow down to this property by piping into:  | select -expandproperty
    "isenabled"
How can I modify this expanded property? Currently the value is $true but I want to set it to $false (then eventually back to $true)
I don't think I am getting creative enough. Any suggestions?

    I am stuck.
I can query via cmdlets and acquire a collection's maintenance window and view all the properties - but cannot modify the IsEnabled (or haven't discovered how yet)
    Get-CMDeviceCollection -name "sccm-mw-prod - 1we*" | select -expandproperty collectionid | foreach-obj
    ect {Get-CMMaintenanceWindow -CollectionId $_ } | select *
As suggested, I started digging into WMI. I was able to pull collections by name and get their members
query for collections with "1we" in the name
    gwmi -class sms_collection -namespace "root\sms\site_xxx" | where name -like "*1we*" | select name,collectionid
If I put the above line into variable $test and pipe it like so, I can get the members of each collection
    $test | foreach-object {gwmi -class sms_collectionmember -namespace "root\sms\site_xxx" | where classpath -lik
    e "*$_" | select name | sort}
NOW, if I take $test and change the query so it selects * instead of just name and collectionID - I can't find any properties that indicates maintenance/service window. All I see is one that says 'ServiceWindowsCount' which is useless.
    $test = gwmi -class sms_collection -namespace "root\sms\site_xxx" | where name -like "*1we*" | select *
I then started playing around with a different WMI class called "sms_servicewindow".
    $test2 = gwmi -list -namespace "root\sms\site_xxx" | where name -like "sms_servicewindow"
If I type: $test2.properties I get a list of properties but they seem like a generic list; aka, they don't pertain to a specific maintenance/service window. I do see familiar properties like IsEnabled, description, duration, etc. I could be wrong though.
*Ultimately, I would like to have a script that I could pass certain collections to and it would set the "isenabled" field for their maintenance windows to $false instead of $true. If we need to delay patches for a specific weekend, I don't want
to have to manually go in to each window and disable it by hand - I can just run the script. This doesn't seem possible unless I am missing something.
    Any help is appreciated!
EDIT: and of course, if there was an easier way in the GUI to select multiple collections and disable all of the maintenance windows I would use that too - doesn't have to be a script. But I haven't found any other way to do this in the GUI besides manually
doing it to each collection > MW.
