LMS 4.2.2 Device Interface Monitoring

HI,
On LMS 3.2 there was a way to disable the monitoring of Device Interfaces.
Examples are ISDN30 Channels, which go up and down during calls. I could disable the channel monitor on the relevant device and only monitor the Circuit as this is the main device to monitor.
I can not find the same option in 4.2.2
Could some provide the link.
Thanks

Monitor -> Fault settings -> Setup -> Fault Device Details
From there you select the device you want do modify.

  • LMS 3.2 OperationallyDown & unmanaged interfaces

    Hi,
I get a lot of OperationallyDown notifications on email. So, on DFM->Device Management->Device Details->View, all device interfaces are put to the "false" value. I guess this means no interfaces will be managed on the device?
I made sure that the device is reachable from LMS. In Notification Services, I created an event set A with only "OperationallyDown" type of event.
I still receive a ton of email notifications
    any idea?

    Here's the email I get:

  • Queries on Business Process Monitoring (BPM) & Interface Monitoring

    Dear all,
I have got a few queries on the subject and would greatly appreciate any valuable inputs.
Before I proceed, want to clarify that I have downloaded all overtly available  documents (PDFs, SIMs) from the following URLs:
    http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman
    http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager  Media Library
    http://service.sap.com/bpm Media Library
I may not have read them all though since I come from a Functional angle.
Kindly reply to whatever query you can please. Not all of them are sequential.
    Queries:
    (1) How are Interfaces with External Systems (beyond the firewall of the enterprise) monitored ?
    (2) Is it really worth listing all such External Systems as Logical Components in their own right ? I guess this makes sense if at a Process Step level, one wants to list a 'specific' Logical Component involved instead of 'generic' term like External System. However, it would benefit only if Interface Monitoring is feasible; isn't it ?
    (3) There are Interfaces which are built between SAP and External System and serve various Business Processes under various Business Scenarios. In such circumstances,  it is not easy to list which Process 'owns' the Interface. Therefore, under a normal Implementation Project structure (SOLAR02), choosing a particular Process Step, getting into 'Development' Tab and listing the Interface Program name may not be feasible, since there is no particular place where it belongs.
Is it therefore a good idea to create namesake Scenario for capturing all interfaces and list a library of all interfaces and store documents right there ? If so, will these namesake processes be of any use in BPM at a later date ?
    (4) If my primary objective is to accomplish Interface Monitoring and not Business Process Monitoring per se, is it a good idea to create a new Solution Landscape, and manually create Business Processes that are suited to list Interfaces than to assign Template or Implementation Project to the Solution Landscape, and inherit those Processes ?
    (5) What is it that a SAP Competence (Support) Centre will find as a 'major' gain in activating BPM to monitor Interfaces alone - is there something that SolMan's BPM based Interface Monitoring gives more than what PI level reporting may provide them with ?
    (6) In Interfaces with Non-SAP Systems (some of them are old/ proprietary legacy systems with Credit Card companies; some of them are like 'Active Directory' servers), is it possible to define Metrics for BPM that such systems will contribute to SolMan, for reporting purposes ? Or, is it too much to hope for
Thanks again, for your patience and advance thanks for your kind responses.

    Hi,
    Welcome to BPM
You have asked too many questions in a single Post, Please read rules of engagement before posting
You can monitor the following without any trouble.
    ●      ALE/EDI
    ●      qRFC
    1) Its obvious, if your firewall blocks all your request to external enterprise, it is not possible to monitor.
    3) These interfaces are not the one related to development tab in SOLAR02, you have to map them from BPM.
    4) Yes, you don't have to depend on any project for your processes, you can add it in your Solution Landscape.
    5) Post a Separate Thread!!!
    6) Post a Separate Thread!!!
Hope this gives a better idea.

  • Interface Monitoring - any example from your experience please ?

    Hi Gurus,
In Interface Monitoring (as a subset of BPM), as you may be aware, as of Software Component ST-SER Release being  700_2008_1, a new functionality is supported:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/2c/40328724e2431ba71958275b15e9fb/content.htm
Well, I am keen to learn from your experiences if you have already used this.
My specific question is: Can you please share an example, from your experience, an example of Interface Scenario, Interfaces and Interface Steps  for SAP interacting with Non-SAP systems inside/outside the company?
    Best regards,
    Srini

    Closing this for housekeeping sake.

  • Interface Monitoring by Business Prozess Monitoring

    Hallo,
I have implement the first Steps for Business Process Monitoring. I have create the IDocs in the Satellite System an i want to select the Interface in the Solution Manager. I open the Business Process Monitoring from my Solution and open the Process. In the Process is the Step Interface Monitoring. I will choose my Interface but I have no chance to selection. Have anybody a Answer on this Problem?
    Thanks

    Hello Roland,
Martin's tip should be sufficient to select the interface. Anyway you should perhaps have a look under https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Technical Information --> Setup Guide - Interface Monitoring.

  • FWSM interface monitoring and best practices documentation.

    Hello everyone
I have a couple of questions regarding vlan interface monitoring and best practices specifically for this service module.
I couldn’t find a suggestion or guideline as for how to define a VLAN interface on a management station. The FWSM total throughput is 5.5gbs and the interfaces are mapped to vlans carried on trunks over 10gb etherchannels. Is there a common practice, or past experience, to set some physical parameters to logical interfaces? "show interface" command states BW as unknown.
Additionally, do any of you have a document addressing best practices for FWSM? I have this for other platforms and general recommendations based on newer ASA versions but nothing related to FWSM.
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards
    Guido

    Hi,
If you are looking for some more command to check for the throughput through the module:-
    show firewall module <number> traffic
Also , I think as this is End of life , you might have to check for some old documentation from Cisco on the best practices.

  • Cisco PI 2.0 API - GET Device Interface Description

    Hi,
we are using Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 as our central device discovery and inventory for all network equipment. Then we export the database to multiple other systems, primary through the REST API. My question is if anyone have used the PI API to retrive a device interface descriptions?
Looking at the documentation at https://[prime IP]/webacs/api/v1/data/InventoryDetails?_docs you'll see under the value PhysicalPort[] a description field, but it seems like it only get the port name i.e. FastEthernet1/1. Basically the same as the Name field.
Do anyone know how to get the description on an interface through the Cisco PI 2.0 API?
    Cheers // Mattias

Because you would think that GET InventoryDetails -> PhysicalPort -> Description would be it... but no, it shows exactly the same thing as "name"!?
    PhysicalPort[]
    physicalPort
This nested field provides information about the physical ports associated with this device.

  • Sending a message from PXI CAN Series 2 to device interface

Is it possible to send a CAN message to a device interface? What VIs should be use? I need to send a single message ("x92") to a device interface in order to enable its function.
    Thanks!

Great! That worked smoothly! Thanks DirkW
We now have this VI that sends a message to enable a sensor and then starts reading raw data. We understand this data is CAN frames which now we need to convert to channel in order to get scaled values. We tried "CAN Frame to Channel vs 2_2_2" from NI but it needs some cRIO parameters that we don't have. We also looked at the "CANConversionLibrary" but nothing that applies to our case.
How could we process the "Data" shown in the last column of the attached VI?
    Thanks!

  • How the LMS 4.2 calculate average interface Utilization

    Hello!
    I have interface Tunnel1 with bandwidth 5000.
How the LMS 4.2 calculate average interface RxUtilization or TxUtilization on this interface?

    Hi ,
Below is how LMS calculates this value:
    RxUtilization = (ifInOctets*8*100)/ifSpeed
    TxUtilization = (ifOutOctets*8*100)/ifSpeed

  • Getting 6A82 error code while selecting PPSE(Proximity payment system environment) applet from device interface

    Hi,
I am developing an Wallet app in Android. For this I have to select PPSE applet in secure element to update some data from my android app. But the problem is I could not select the PPSE from the app. I can select other applet like VMPA from my android app. But every time I send select APDU in secure element to select PPSE from my android app, I am getting error code 6A82.
But I can select the PPSE from contactless nfc reader and also can see the PPSE is installed into my Secure Element.
Is there any configuration that I should follow to make the PPSE selectable  from device interface?
Please help me on this regard.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi, Could you share more information about your software architecture? Which framework did you use to access the secure element, seek-for-android?
For secure element, GP mandates the so-called access control.
It is a standard that enables several parties to independently and securely manage their stakes in a single Secure Element. It can be ensured that only allowed Android applications are able to access specific Java Card applets depending on the device APK certificate.
You should check whether your android application is allowed to access the PPSE or not. But for what you have described in your post, it seems to me that your app is not allowed.
    Hope that helps,
    BRs,
    JDL

  • Where is LMS 4.0 Detailed Device View ?

Can someone tell me how to get the Detailed Device View in LMS 4.0 please?
From what I have been able to find out I should be able to go do Monitor> Fault Settings> Setup> Fault Device Details, select a device, click View and then click the device name link.
Unfortunatly the device name(s) displayed are not links, just text.
I need to get the the Detailed Device View so that I can block certain interfaces/events from generating alarms, specifically ISDNB channels when voice calls are made.
    Steve

I just checked mine and following the navigation you noted above it works for me - I can navigate down to unmanage individual interfaces. See the screenshot below.
FWIW, I am running LMS 4.2.2 on soft appliance and am logged in as admin.

  • Ciscoworks LMS 4.0 – Fault Device Details Issue

We currently use Ciscoworks LMS 4.0 but when I go into,  Monitor > Fault Settings > Setup > Fault Device Details
I get the following message (see attached document with screenshot) and being a LMS newbie am unsure what to do? As have tried to search for this
           file but no luck.
So thanks in advance for any advice.

Check if the fault management rediscovery page shows device as discovered and known or does it have any errors?
Are you able to generate any fault management reports and view other pages?
Just try to reboot the server/restart daemon to see if it is goes away.
Else it is mostly corrupt FM DB. Which would need to be re-initialized.
Fault Mgmt reinitialize is very simple task, which doesnt removes a lot of data, except past 31 days of FM history and custom notifications, if configured.
    Thanks

  • RME Detailed Device interface Last Changed date reporting

How do I create a custom template rule to get ports that have changed since a particular date?
    LMS 3.1 RME 4.2
when creating a custom template rule for "interfaces" "Last Changed", the date format in the rule is different than
the field in detailed device reports.  I thought the field " last changed " was the point along the sysuptime timeline
but the sysuptime is less than the number of days in "LastChanged".
    any help appreciated..

That explains why the last change numbers are sometimes higher than the sysuptime.  Thank You!!!!
is there a particular way to select the "Value" in RME-Custom Template Reports-Custom Template-rules when choosing
    Inventory group= interface ,   Attribute = Last Changed (yy:mm:dd:hh)  ?
The format requires years, months, days and hours while the value of the field is xxxx days, hh:mm:ss
I seem to be unable to get the correct results...
