LMS 4.2.3 device and system update failing

I have upgraded to prime LMS 4.2.2 (from 4.0.1) and can not perform system or device upgrade. Using wireshark I can see why. it looks like LMS is trying to go to this old web link http://cco.cisco.com/cgi-bin/login to get software. I believe this was fixed years ago in bug CSCto46927.
Can I reapply bug fix CSCto46927 on 4.2.3 or is there another fix?
Thanks.

"It is fixed now and the issue should resolve for all the LMS server's."
Are you sure?
The error message is missed, so I asume the web page is answered correctly,
but something is wrong with package checking.
For example, at my LMS 4.2.3 the ASA package is 7.0. After checking it shows there is no package to update (Popup - "No updates available in Cisco.com for selected products")
Tcpdump shows:
            284259296
Cisco Prime LAN Management Solution 4.2
                    283418817
LMS Inventory Config And Image Management Device Package Updates
                            ASA(7-1)
                            ASA(7-1)
                                7
                                4.2.2
                                1
So there is an update to 7.1. Same problem with NAM (my ver is 6.0) and the newswest at cisco.com is NAM 6.1,
On the other hand the  " 4.2.2" is weird.
If a have a newer (patched) version, the packages are not available to me??
Dont understand...

has firefox os Device independent system updates freature?

To receive updates on a device with a custom build of Firefox OS you would have to either compile and build the updates from the source code, or download an image from someone who already did that.
Please be aware that flashing the system can cause your device to become unusable.

I need to update my iTunes and iPod touch,iPad and iPhone but they were set up with a hp laptop that i sold i tried to update my iTunes and apple devices but it tell's me if i update i will lose all media on my devices and to update with the original computr

Go to www.ecamm.com and d/l PhoneView.
To prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - hold down the 'option' and the 'command' keys when plugging in the iPod/iPhone - key the keys down until the iPod/iPhone is listed under the Devices list in iTunes - this will prevent a sync from taking place.
With PhoneView you can take the content from the device to the iTunes library.

I have just tried to update my ipod touch and the update failed but it has locked my ipod.  All I get is a picture of the itunes logo and the usb lead.  I am unable to get the ipod to move and I don't know what to do.  I think I should be recompenced by Apple if I have to pay to get it fixed!

The logo is saying connect it to your computer with iTunes installed on the computer.  I assume when yo do this that the iPod is not seen in iTunes. to make iTunes appear try:
    - Resetting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Place the iPod in recovery mode.  See:

If you are using Help 》updates, it is outdated. You can however go to Product Updates on the Adobe.com website and download your updates there. I am not at my desk b<t when I get back, I'll get the links unless someone else can do that sooner.

  • Network drives and System Update updating itself (Error 1327.Invalid Drive)

I have a Windows network share permanently mapped as a network drive on my system. This prevents Lenovo System Update 5 from updating itself.
    Here is what happens:
Launch Lenovo System Update and click Next to look for updates.
When 'Searching for agent updates' it will tell me: 'System Update is updating itself. Your copy of System Update needs to be updated. Click OK to begin updating System Update.'
Click OK, Lenovo System Update will download the update and appear to install it.
At the end it will tell me: 'System Update was installed successfully'
Click Close, just to be sure I wait for a while so System Update can finish whatever it is doing in the background (if anything at all).
When nothing appears to happen I launch Lenovo System Update manually and it will tell me it needs to update itself again, and go to the same process as above. The update did not install successfully at all. System update keeps updating itself in a loop.
Next thing I tried is manually downloading the latest System Update version from http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=TVSU-UPDATE
I downloaded systemupdate503-09-17-2013.exe for my Windows 7 machine.
The installer detects to old version of System Update and offers to uninstall that. I click Yes.
A moment later the real error appears: 'Error 1327.Invalid Drive: S:\'
The only thing I can do now is press OK to close the installer.
The S:\ drive is my network drive which is permanently mapped to a share on my NAS.
It is not an invalid drive, S:\ opens fine in Windows Explorer.
I don't know why the System Update installer wants to access my S: drive in the first place. All my applications are installed on C:. While I did move some special folders like My Pictures and My Videos to S:, the relevant folders My Documents and Desktop are still on C:.
I have found a workaround to the problem above:
Close Lenovo System Update completely when it says it needs to update itself.
Run Command Prompt as Administrator (find it in the start menu, righ-click it and 'Run as administrator').
Type 'subst s: c:\' without the quotes. Replace s: with the drive letter of your network drive, and c: should be an existing regular drive.
Now run Lenovo System Update again and let it update itself.
You'll notice System Update now restarts itself after updating and there are no problems.
Once you are done with System Update, type 'subst s: /D' to delete the substituted virtual drive. Don't worry, this will not delete your actual network drive.
The workaround does the job, but it would be nice to see an actual fix from Lenovo. I have a ThinkPad X230 running 64bit Windows 7 Professional if this is relevant.

Please try either of the workaround.
    1. Create a new Admin user, log on in that and then you can install Adobe Reader,
    or
    2. easier solution is just create a dummy folder on your machine anywhere, lets says Folder name "Dummy"  in c:\
    not go to command prompt
    and type subst I: c:\dummy
and you are all set to go.
once you are done, you can remove that virtual drive mapping by
    subst I:\  /d
please let me know if works.

  • Note edge / device and os update delays

Why is it verizon has not yet released the Note edge and all the other major companies have,  making it Not possible to upgrade for the holidays? It makes it seem as though verizon has no faith in their tech support to handle issues regarding new devices or os updates ( aside from putting in bloatware) being they usually have one of the longest delays on releases.  This phone was basically released over a month ago everywhere else and now their are talks about skipping android 5.0 to 5.0.1 which week probably take another lengthy delay after the phone is finally released. Is there going to bea release date anytime soon?

BigLefty if you don't like my post you are free not to read them. As tired as you are of my posts I'm tired of posts constantly asking about updates and when a certain phone will be available since it common knowledge no Verizon rep has that info nor would they hand it out if they did. Also tired of seeing threats of leaving if people don't get their way. If one is going to leave then do it. If I felt wronged by Verizon I wouldn't hesitate to leave, but I sure wouldn't be posting about it here I'd just do it and move on.

  • Time Capsules and System Updates

Why must I always erase my Time Capsule and re-backup after every system update?

    TexasRose58 wrote:
System Preferences > Users & Groups doesn't have an Advanced Options button...at least I don't see one in Mountain Lion on my iMac.
Yes, it does.  Follow the instructions in the pink box.
I repaired permissions, turned off Time Machine, and then upgraded from the Apps Store. After I upgraded the system, it showed Oldest Backup: None and Latest Backup: None, but it showed only about a third of the space as available, so the old backups were there.
Yes, that's confusing.  It just means the preferences window hasn't been updated.
I tried to go ahead and just backup, but it would only go about halfway into the backup and quit.
Quit how?  Did it fail with a message?  If so, what?  See #C2 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.   It will show you how to locate the message(s) that describe the problem, then help you fix it.    If that doesn't help, post back with details, including all the messages.
Or did it just hang?  If so, what is/was shown on the Preferences window?
Inside Time Machine itself, on the sliding scale to the right of the "starry sky" the old backups were red (no badges or extra icons, just the usual bars and dates).
Ah, that means those backups are on the external drive;  any white/gray ones indicate "Local Snapshots" that are on your internal HD.  See Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #30 for details.
If you can't access them, see the pink box in FAQ #15A.
Should I have left Time Machine running during the backup? Is that where I messed up? I thought I did when I backed up from Snow Leopard to Lion, but maybe not. I don't recall for certain.
I assume you mean the browser (the "Star Wars" display).  If so, it shouldn't matter, but you won't see the new backup until and unless it completes normally.

  • T43 won't read DVD that has safedisc DRM encryption and System Update not showing BIOS update

I've just acquired a second hand T43 (2668WZT) that is working fine with one exception. I cannot get it to recognise a game DVD that apparently has safedisc DRM encryption on it to prevent copying. The DVD works with no problem on my desktop system but I thought it would be useful to be able to run it on the Thinkpad as well when travelling.
Does anybody have any ideas on what the problem might be? I'm on BIOS level 1.24 and the BIOS level is now up to 1.29 which raises the other slight mystery. I've installed the latest version of system update but that is not flagging any BIOS update as available so I'm a bit reluctant to download and install in case there is some pre-req missing.
All advice on either issue gratefully received!

Yes. It is possible that the DVD could be bad.
It is also possible that your corrupted installation is preventing the DVD from working right.
It would seem strange, except that this happened with another guy as well. But, once we disconnected his internal hard drive with the corrupted OS 10.4.7 install, the machine booted from the DVD and worked properly. We then connected a different hard drive to install to, and it worked fine. Then, we connected the drive as a secondary and formatted it and it resumed working.
But, with an iMac CoreDuo, you cannot open the machine to unplug the drive. So, you'll be a bit stuck if you require the same solution. He had a PowerMac G5.
But, basically, his corrupted OS 10.4.7 installation was preventing booting from a CD, booting into safe mode, booting from an external drive, or any other kind of booting.
So, for him, the only option was disconnecting the internal drive and installing on another one.
I hope this doesn't turn out to be necessary on your system as well. If so, you'll need to take it into the shop for servicing.
The only other option I could think of is to try and boot it into Target Disk mode, and format it's drive with another computer. Perhaps that would work.
Once your internal drive has been cleared (formatted), then it may boot from the DVD again (assuming your problem is the same as the other guys).
You can read about Target Disk Mode here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58583
You can read about the steps we took to troubleshoot and repair the other guys machine here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=2629919#2629919
Perhaps that will help explain what I described above.
    I hope this helps.

  • Safari and System Update are not working.

I have been trying to fix these for days,no dice yet.
I have done the Repair Permissions, and that didn't work,I have also reinstalled Safari, and the problem persists, where it loads 1/4 of the bar and the page stays blank. The system update says there is a network error, but I connect to the internet fine, well at least of FireFox. I have a back up account which I accessed and tried to go to Safari with, but the same problem happened, and same thing with the System Update.
I've been looking and people recommend reinstalling my system, now the problem with that is it will,as most of you know, delete all my downloaded data. I have hours of downloaded things, and I'm ready to look for another solution.
I have just come back from a one month vacation, and this happened,I also did a virus scan with iAntiVirus, didn't find anything.
    Please Help!

  • Itunes update and system update

Hi. I have a new imac and am having problems connecting to the itunes store and doing a system update.
Whenever I try it says that I am unable to connect and refers me to check my network settings. These are fine as I am able to connect to any website.
Is this a known problem with apple or is it more local with me!?
Any help would be appreciated as I would like to buy some music from itunes!
    Thanks,

  • Scheduling downloads and system updates in Yosemite?

We  have sattelit broadband with a cap but unlimited from 12 am to 5 am. Is there a way to schedule App Store (Mac and IOS) updates?

Not in the OS, that I'm aware of.
You could possibly set up your Mac to automatically turn on after midnight and shut down before 5 am. Then set it for automatic updates before shutting down in the evening. Seems a bit too difficult to manage. I also don't know if an active download would interrupt the shutdown.
If you can find a download manager that you can schedule, most of the OS updates are available on the Apple website. Disable automatic updates in the App Store preferences and when a new one is available, you could schedule it with the download manager to grab it from Apple website.
