Lms 4.2 Cannot enable End Host Discovery on Trunk

Hi...
I have noticed that our LMS does not collect any information about wireless users connected to autonomous access points, although I can see the mac address of the wireless users on the switch (2960) Trunk port connecting to the AP via CLI. I can also get the IP address from the core switch. Even after selecting 'Perform Data Collection' on the AP in the topology, the Wireless End hosts report remains blank.
I am trying to enable the option 'End host Discovery on Selected Trunks' in the 'Acquisition configuration in Trunk' menu and after selecting the switch where the AP resides and clicking 'show Trunk' I get the message 'there are no trunks in the device(s) selected', although there are several trunk ports on this switch, other than the one connecting to the AP. The switch and the AP are managed by LMS. We are facing this problem with all Autonomus APs. We do not use WLSE. Is there something missing to discover these Wireless hosts ?
All help is appreciated

Is it safe to set UTGetVlansWithUserPorts=0 in the NMSROOT/campus/etc/cwsi/ut.properties ? I have seen this in a previous discussion, but thath was related to LMS 3.1, not 4.2

    An immediate report is successful.
I tried to change the "Report Publish Path" from "C:/Program Files (x86)/CSCOpx/" to "C:/PROGRA~2/CSCOpx/", but that did'nt worked.
    Has anybody an idea?

  • LMS 4.1 with CUCM 8.0.2 Phones only detected as End Hosts

    Hi,
looks like I still have an issue with LMS to recognize the IP Phones in UT as IP Phones.
SNMP RO on Call Manager is enabled and is green in CM (e.g. topology) - so SNMP get is basically fine.
The Phones are recognised as End Devices in UT.
As far as I understand, now if I start a Phone Aquisition, the CUCM is polled by LMS to gather additional information about the phones.
So it seems there is a problem with the SNMP polling of the Callmanager?
    thanks for any help!
    br.herwig

    Yes, its in DCR
below the device status of the Callmanager:
    20.
    192.168.2.10
    Callmanager
    192.168.2.10
    1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.583
    Cisco 7825H Media Convergence Server
The phones are collected by UT as end hosts (it is seen through the voice vlan called "UC"):
But this phones are not recognized as phones in UT:

  • LMS 4.2.5 - UserTracking Connected End Host Report not useable

    Hi all,
trying to understand the different available UserTracking-Reports (Active End Host Report, Dormant End Host, Connected End Host) provided by UserTracking Summary Portlet I struggled with understanding the Connected End Host Report.
In Docs an End Host in status connected is: End hosts that are connected to the network but do not have its MAC address entry in the connected switch CAM table.
Executing this Connected End Hosts Report I'm not able to understand the output:
User Name    MAC Address    Host Name    IP Address    Subnet    Status    Switch    Port    VLAN    Last Seen
    1.                 Connected        Fa0/2   AK-ETH23  14 Dec 2014, 05:17:44
    2.                 Connected        Fa0/13  VLAN0178  14 Dec 2014, 05:17:44
    3.                 Connected        Gi0/15  inactive400  14 Dec 2014, 05:17:44
    4.                 Connected        Fa4/13  VLAN0924  14 Dec 2014, 05:17:44
    5.                 Connected        Gi0/18  inactive400  14 Dec 2014, 05:17:44
With this output nobody is able to correlate anything; simply a port and a vlan is seen, but no endhost-information/switch or switchport information!
As this can be seen on different LMS installations, it seems to be a general issue.
Anybody out the having further information?
    Thanks for your valued feedback.

  • LMS 4.0.1 End Host display issue

    Using LMS 4.0.1.
When looking at the Device Centre - Troubleshooting view for a device it will display the number of End Hosts in the Configuration Status>Configuration Details section. If I click on the number of devices a pop-up will appear saying "No end hosts found", however if I go to Reports>Inventory>User Tracking and run the report it displays the end hosts correctly
I would appreciate assistance on what could be causing this issue. It was happening with Lms 4.0 but upgrade to 4.0.1 did not change it.

When I use the same Device name or Device IP when running a end host query from Reports>User Tracking>Quick reports I get the correct end hosts displayed. The quantity displayed corresponds with the quantity shown on the Device center - troubleshooting page

  • Cannot set IP address for "enable default host", setting won't stick

    Hi,
My office is using a 3rd party application called Rumpus to give clients FTP access to files that we post on our Mac Mini. I installed Rumpus a few months ago, and it's been working well, until last week when suddenly there's no external web access at all.
FYI we have a static IP from TWC.
In my Airport Utility config, I'm using the Network Option "Enable Default Host" and I'm setting this to the IP address that I've assigned to our Mac Mini which is 10.0.1.110. This way all incoming traffic is automatically getting to the Mac Mini. But since this problem started happening, this setting is now set to an IP address of 10.0.1.253. I don't know how this setting changed. And no matter what I do I cannot get it to save to 10.0.1.110. When I attempt to change it, it looks like it's saving but the setting doesn't change. Additionally, I've discovered I CAN set this to any IP address of 10.0.1.200, or higher, but not below 200. (The Utility's default IP range is from .2 to .200 so I guess this must be preventing the setting from sticking but I don't see why.)
Can anyone help me with this??
    Regards,
    Bob

How do you assign the address to the mini? In the mini itself or via dhcp reservations?
What model airport are you using? What firmware?
Can you remember some firmware update or something that altered the settings??
Reset to factory and try again.. but on 7.6.4 and 7.7.x there are definitely FTP issues.
See posts here. I have been tracking FTP problems for a while.
There are severe FTP issues with the AE.. the last couple of versions of the Gen1-5 firmware as well as the Gen 6.. See this thread.

  • LMS 4.0.1 User Tracking Problem "No end hosts found"

    Hi everybody,
I have problems with devices that do not appear in the user tracking utility.
These devices are a cisco WS-C4506-E with Supervisor II-Plus-10GE and two WS-C6509 with Supervisor Engine 720.
When I start acquisition for the devices I receive following message: "Device unreachable". When I try to watch the end hosts, I get following Message: "No end hosts found."
I have patched LMS 4.0.1 with CSCto06189 Patch.
    Is there perhaps a solution?

400 devices - do you mean 400 end users?
Do they all use a Layer 3 default gateway that is among your discovered and managed devices?
Have you followed the steps and troubleshooting from around page 24 of this guide?

  • End Host IP Address not seen in the UserTracking Report

    hi,
After the successful completion of Device Discover (Common Services) and Data Collection (Campus Manager, whenever the end host reports are generated, only the mac address is seen, the ip address and subnet mask fields are blank.
    The LMS version is 3.2.1
    Campus Manager version : 5.2.2
Ping Sweep is also enabled under the Acquisition settings.

The issue has been resolved. now the IP addresses and the Subnet infomation is displayed in the User Tracking Reports. The problem was, that no Layer 3 device was added in the LMS. as per the document:
ANI reads the ARP table from the Layer 3 devices  it discovered to map the MAC addresses to IP addresses. If UserTracker  shows the MAC addresses, and the IP address and hostname fields are  empty, chances are that ANI does not discover the default gateway of the  host correctly.
Added the Layer 3 switches, performed the Data Collection, Device Discovery and UT Acqusition and now the endhost reports are generated based on IP address.
following is the link for reference:

  • Some end hosts are missing!

    Hello.
I'm using CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1. For one subnet, User Tracking does not show IP address for some end hosts only (printers). All devices are supported, ARP table is populated. Ping sweep is enabled for all subnet.
    Any ideas?
    Regards.
    Andrea

when your MAC is ok, the LMS can query the switch.
The next step for LMS is to query the gateway (router), for the MAC to get the IP.
So when your IP is missing, it could be that the LMS doesnt have access or can query to gateway that holds the Info.
maybe the printers use a different gateway, or the LMS doesnt have the access to that gateway.
Also in the other end , i guess a database problem also can occur, that will give the same result.
have you tried to purge the UT database ?
Also there is  a setting around UT in DHCP environments. are this on ?

  • Cannot see see host drives, Win 7 guest on Virtual PC Win 7 host

I have Virtual PC running on Windows 7 Enterprise with a Win 7 guest OS and integration features enabled (all drives are selected), as per instructions here:
    http : / / technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee449412(v=ws.10).aspx
However after restarting the VM it still does not work, I cannot see the host drives in the VM.  How can I get this to work?

Here's a link to a thread about the same problem.  There seems to be a couple of fixes, and one is to uninstall an RDP update (KB2592687), and another is a list of 8 steps that seems to resolve the issue.  I'd suggest trying the
8 steps first because then you'll have all the updates and a working VM if it works.

    And the eight steps from

I was able to get it working:
Go to Settings for the Windows XP Mode VM.
    Integration Settings
    Uncheck Drives.
Login to the VM and Shut Down the Guest OS.
Boot it back up and login.
    Recheck Drives in Integration Settings.
Shut Down the Guest OS again.
Boot it back up and it should be working.
    Hope this helps.

I am able to unmonitor and monitor the resources manually. What is the cause of these WARNING messages? This from Oracle and we have yet to complete the installation of HA-Oracle. Oracle is not installed and tnsnames.ora and listener.ora is not configured. Is this the reason? If so, could someone explain why you cannot online the resource group until after the application has been installed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ryan

As the manual says for clrs create:
By default, resources are created in the  enabled  state with  monitoring enabled. so when you issue the clrg online -emM it is just simply warning you that these other resources weren't disable. Note they wouldn't have been started because the RG would have been offline.
Does that explain it? If not, ask more questions.

In my case "mod_wl_22.so" was not available but i downloaded this p10051826_1033_Generic.zip file from where i got that file and make it available in the modules directory, changed the file permissions (using chmod 755 mod_wl_22.so) and also changed the httpd.conf file as below :
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl_22.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicCluster wlserv1:7001,wlserv2.com:7001
