Lms 4.2 discrepancie update

Hello,
in the configuration>dashboard>configuration i have a portelet Discrepancy but "Por is in Error Disable State" don't uptade automatically i have only one switch indicate it's error disable port the other switch are not reported even if they have a port switch in errr disable.Why?
Thank you very much

Hi.
There was a bug in earlier versions of LMS (4.0.1 and earlier) where the LMS was polling the wrong MIB objects (see CSCto31795), however, this was resolved in LMS 4.1 and later.  Are you sure you are running LMS 4.2?
If you are running LMS 4.2, please check your snmp configuration on the switches in question.
If you find you are running a version earlier than LMS 4.1 and you don't want to upgrade, you might want to think about working around the issue by forwarding syslogs to the LMS server and then set-up syslog reports to look for:
%PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: [chars] error detected on [chars], putting [chars] in
err-disable state
You can set the mnumonic to check for "ERR_DISABLE" in the syslog reports.

-Joe

  • Can't get CP7 to refresh SumTotal LMS on exit or update status

    Does anyone have the same experience in CP7 not being able to refresh SumTotal LMS on exit or update the course status? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    We've experienced this many times in the past and on our current LMS Learn.com, which is now Taleo.
    The problem came when we started using the SCORM 2004 player which launches courses in a frameset. THe Previous 1.2 player launched courses in a popup window. We had to parse the url to exit 1.2 courses run in a 2004 player to the course menu.
    The following function (mod_close()) is called after the terminate, we parse all of the user and course info so we can return them to the menu:
    function getUrlVars()
        var vars = [], hash;
        var hashes = window.top.location.href.slice(window.top.location.href.indexOf('?') + 1).split('&');
        for(var i = 0; i < hashes.length; i++)
            hash = hashes[i].split('=');
            vars.push(hash[0]);
            vars[hash[0]] = hash[1];
        return vars;
    function mod_close()
    window.top.location="/learn6.asp?sessionid="+(getUrlVars()['sessionid'])+"&rootclass="+(ge tUrlVars()['rootclass'])+"&classid="+(getUrlVars()['classid'])+"&c=&courseid=0&mode=";

  • LMS 3.2 device updates failing?

    Have upgraded from LMS 3.1 to 3.2 then applied all the software updates ok.
    Now applying device updates - they are failing but can't see a clear reason. The Activity Log > Event Log doesn't really provide any clues. I'm guessing the relevant log file would be the psu.log ? [see attached]
    Not sure if messages like
    oid : 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.7.5.19 not found in E:\CISCOW~1\lib\classpath\com\cisco\nm\cwcs\mdf\mdfdata.xml
    are part of the problem?
    Thanks for any troubleshooting pointers

    The SYSobjectID you mention is of an HP device so that is not likely to be your problem.
    Got any problems with devices not being recognized?
    Tail of psu.log looks normal to me.
    Cheers,

  • LMS 4.2.3 Update Issue

    Is anybody else seeing an issue in applying package updates in LMS 4.2.3?
    I am getting an error whether going via the GUI or CLI. The key issue appears to be (acroding to the PSU.log):
    [ Sat May 11 16:41:25 EST 2013 ] ERROR  [PsuPkgResolver : pickUnselectedBasePackages]  : Consistency check failed for base package SharedSwimRtr800(2.2)
    I have the version 2.0.1 of SharedSwimRtr800:
    327.
    SharedSwimRtr800
    2.0.1
    SharedSwimRtr800 device package
    ...and I can't seem to find 2.2 anywhere in the downloads section for LMS 4.2.

    The patch is a zip file which includes both the patch and a readme file. Follow the instructions (excerpted below) and the patch will invoke Perl to run a script that copies a bunch of files from one location to another on your server
    It takes about 10 minutes to complete - wait until you are presented with your command prompt again to know that it's done.
    The readme states, in part:
    Patch Install Instructions:
    Step 1. Download the patch to any temp directory other than NMSROOT, the directory where CiscoWorks is installed.
    Step 2. Untar/Unzip the patch.
    Step 3. Go to the directory to which you Untarred/Unzipped the patch.
    Step 4: Execute the following command:
    On Solaris: NMSROOT/bin/perl CSCue69689-1.pl
    On Windows: NMSROOT\bin\perl CSCue69689-1.pl
    On Soft Appliance: NMSROOT/bin/perl CSCue69689-1.pl
    Note : NMSROOT is the directory where CiscoWorks is installed.

  • LMS 4.0 software update, wrong package?

    Is this software update correct for this version of LMS?
    (Successfully downloaded package(s) cwcm5_2_1_sol from cisco.com)
    Per all the readme's and other docs, this seems to be for LMS 3.2.
    I downloaded this via the gui Software Center in the application.
    Now I am reluctant to do any auto scheduling of the device downloads.
    OS = Solaris 10

    This is not for LMS 4.0 and yes it is a CM patch update for LMS 3.2.
    We are having issues with LMS and cisco.com for Software/Device Upadates.
    It seems te URL used by LMS is fetching wrong details from Cisco.com.
    Needs an investigation.

    I assume that in your case you could have a problem with the sequence of the patch installation. You should have installed cwcs33x-win-CSCto46927-0 as the last patch because there is at least one (CSCtj20850) wich reverts the settings of the patch for Bug CSCto46927 - i.e. re-install cwcs33x-win-CSCto46927-0 and see if it is working.

  • LMS 4.2 Device Update without a proxy server

    I'm running LMS 4.2.2, and when I try to initiate a device package update via the webinterface, it fails because I do not have a proxy server configured.  Is there a way to tell LMS that I don't want it to use a proxy?  I have my cisco.com creds in place, and the proxy fields left blank, but it tries anyway, and I can't find anywhere to tell it to ignore the proxy.

    I solved this myself, it seems I had my DNS entries on the Soft Appliance entered incorrectly, so it threw a "cannot find proxy" rather than "cannot resolve hostname" error.

  • LMS 3.1 Device Update problem through CCO

    If I use the correct CCO password, I get "Connection to Cisco.com failed. Please check log files. Download operation cannot proceed." All I see in psu.log is "FATAL  [DevUpdate : performAdd]  : Error while trying to connect to Cisco.com. Return Code = 1". If I use a bogus password, I'm told so, which leads me to think, without digging further on the LMS or proxy side that there's problem on the CCO end. Am I off base here?

    I was able to download via Device Update with a different CCO account, which makes me think it's an account entitlement problem. Does it sound plausible given the error message ([DevUpdate : performAdd]  : Error while
    trying to connect to Cisco.com. Return Code = 1) that it's CCO's way of saying the first account was not entitled to download RME & CiscoView pkgs?

  • LMS 3.2 Device update

  • LMS 3.2 Archive Update Job Failing

    The scheduled archive update job is failing for all devices. Every one that I've checked is failing with the same message:
    Execution Result:
    Unable to get results of job  execution for device. Retry the job after increasing the job result wait  time using the option:Resource Manager Essentials -> Admin ->  Config Mgmt -> Archive Mgmt ->Fetch Settings
    This setting is at 120 seconds. I've tried adjusting this setting and get same results
    Attaching job logs from most recent failure.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi ,
    Archive purge can fail for many reasons. I can suggest few things , If it did not work. You can open up a TAC case for troubleshooting.
    Try  this :
    Increase the ConfigJobManager.heapsize as “1024m” in the following file:
    NMSROOT/MDC/tomcat/webapps/rme/WEB-INF/classes/JobManager.properties  (ie,,ConfigJobManager.heapsize=1024m)  ·
    Restart the daemon manager  ·
    Once the daemon manager is started successfully,  Go to Admin > Network > Purge Settings > Config Archive Purge Settings,  increase the “Purge versions older than:” to 12 Months  (Also configure large value  for no. of versions that you would like to have per device) and trigger the job.  ·
    Once job is completed, decrease the number of months gradually, until the desired no. of days & no. of versions required is reached.  This exercise is to reduce the number of archives loading in memory during a purge job, which will cause job hanging.
    Thanks-
    Afroz

  • Retake Quiz results not updated by LMS

    Does Captivate 7 send out a score update every time a test is taken (through a SCORM 1.2 LMS server)? I have the following situation
    Quiz failed on first attempt
    As designed, module presented trainee with retake offer.
    Trainee passes quiz
    LMS score does not update
    What is the likely issue and how can I check for the score information that is being communicated to the LMS?  I am not the LMS admin so I don't have access to the LMS.
    Thanks,
    Nadeem

    Is this the screenshot of your Manifest settings? It is because I do not see something in the fields 'Score identifier'/'Course object title'. The mastery score is not activated in the screenshot, and should be the same as in the Quiz settings. Can you check?

  • Creating plug in for LMS

    Hi,
    1.Can we write plug-ins/ add on to LMS components? If yes please let me know how? any links would be helpful.
    2.Does LMS support discovery based on LLDP? If no, can we write our own plugin to take care of device discovery?
    Regards,
    ram

    The EnergyWise "plug-in" for LMS consists of two updates: RME 4.3.1 and HUM 1.2.1. The RME piece is mainly for provisioning while the HUM piece is purely for monitoring.
    Once the updates are installed, you will see each application offers features for EnergyWise management (e.g. reports, tasks, pollers, etc.).

    I don't have a quiz in my course, but I was able to get mine working by setting the last "next" button on the slide before the last as a quizable object set to give 1 point in the properties panel for that button. Then, in the publishing preferences, I use:
    This works for me, but some LMS's are more picky. I had to play around with the settings in these panels until I got it to work with my LMS.

  • LMS 4.0.1 Java installation 1330.A error

    I'm installing a new platform LMS 4.0.1 under VMWare and Windows 2008 R2.
    I installed via Windows 2008 R2 Patch without problem in LMS 4.0, then updated in LMS 4.0.1.
    I'm facing several issues during this installation.
    The first issue I have is the following:
    When I launched topology services, java jre file jre-6u22-windows-i586-p_withjacorb.exe was downloaded and I saved it on disk.
    I clicked on file to install it and get the following message during the installation:
    Error 1330.A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file C:\Users\lms\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_22\Data1.cab has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corrupt.
    It tried to install certificate without success.
    I have internet access to java.com but it seems publisher is not trusted.
    Help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    I opened a TAC SR and I got the following workaround explained in this link:
    http://www.dabcc.com/article.aspx?id=17272
    Workaround:
    Java Development Kit includes a public version of the JRE that does not require certificate verification. THe goal is to extract JRE part of JDK kit.
    - Download JDK 6u22 from Oracle site: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
    - Begin to start JDK installation from exe file (jdk-6u22-windows-i586.exe) but STOP at the first Next button (do not install JDK kit).
    - Locate JRE 6u22 .cab file (sj160220.cab) under c:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Sun\Java\
    jdk1.6.0_22 or c:\users\UserName\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\jdk1.6.0_22 for Windows 7 or 2008.
    - Double-click on .cab file, right-click and select extract to save files in a temp directory.
    - Cancel JDK installation
    - Double-click on jre.msi file to install JRE.
