LMS 4.2 notifications per user per device

Hello,
my customer is looking for a notificaiton view in LMS 4.2 per user per device groups, e.g.
user01 can only see in LMS notifications from devicegroup01
user02 can only see in LMS notifications from devicegroup02

Asking questions and answering by myself feels quite funny but I just wanted to let you guys know
about the answer I found.
The answer is quite easy : ) its a NO ... there is no way for alarms and notifications per user per device.
There is a defect/enhancement open against this:

How to realize only one identical remoteApp per session per user per computer?

If a terminalserver 2008 R1 is configured for only one session per user, everything works like it should if the user connects using the 'normal' remotedesktop session. A second connect with the same credentials kicks the first connect.
If a remoteApp is used instead of the 'normal' connect, it's possible to start multiple instances of this app within one user a least from one computer. mstsc do run multiple times and seem to link in the existent connection without kicking it. How to change
that?

The started RemoteApp checks the mutex of all started processes and stops herself if a process is found with the same mutex. This prevents multiple instances of this app within one user with the same sessionID. If a terminalserver is configured for only
one session per user, this RemoteApp shouldn't start multiple within one user. Using a "normal" remote desktop session the app doesn't start more than one time, I tested it. Used as RemotApp, the app starts multiple! Possibly I'm able to change this behaviour
with a code fix instead of configuring terminal services. Any tips regarding mutex and terminalservers?

Per-device/per-user AAA authorization with Freeradius

Hi Folks
I'm using a Freeradius with local username database (no LDAP) for authentication.(working well)
I have various network devices in my network, and I would like to have custom authorization per user per device :
I would like to have 2 types of network admins, and 2 types of network devices, with the following rules :
-"Core devices" must be granted privilege level 15 for "Core admins"
-"Access devices" must be granted privilege level 15 for "Access admins" and "Core admins"
-"Core devices" must be granted privilege level 1 for "Access admins".
-There is now way "Access admins" can access to configuration mode on "Core devices" with enable command.
Any help and config example for freeradius and cisco side are very welcome

Limit on devices per user that can connect to Office Mobile or Office for iPad apps?

We are are on an E3 license for Office 365. What is the maximum number of devices that a user can connect to the various mobile apps? I had hard 5 was the max, but can not find any documentation to support this. We are interested in using both Office Mobile
and the new Office for iPad apps and want to understand any restrictions at the user level. Thanks.

You are correct 5 devices max per user, these devices could be a PC/Tablet/Phone etc... (they all count as a device)

Can we save the printing preference of FR reporting per report per user?

We are using Hyperion Planning and Financial Reporting version 11.1.1.1. Some of our users will generate PDF for printing (HTML format is badly printed out).
However can we have the option to save the printing preference of each FR report? As some reports are in portrait and some are in landscape format, it is preferred users can setup the printing preference per user per report so that they can choose the paper size and printing orientation.

I'm unsure about the best setup for this, but here is some brainstorming:
- In Workgroup Manager or Directory, an administrator can designate a user to 'auto-accept' invitations if the user is available at that time.
- Ideally, one would be able to establish an ACL for auto-acceptance, so that a user or admin could designate a list of users/groups from whom a user should auto-accept invites.
- If a user is set to auto-accept, it is reasonable to assume that this user is either unable to use iCal or does not regularly check their calendar, so invites that are not auto-accepted should be handled somehow. For example, a notification could be e-mailed to the user, an invitation accept/decline message could be sent to the iCal account of a designated administrator or delegate, etc.
I am imagining this for the case of my division, in which we have one person scheduling for lots of people, but I think that the idea of being able to delegate a person to be able to add things to one's calendar without confirmation and to confirm invites from non-privileged users would be useful in other cases as well. For example, a boss wants an administrator/secretary to be able to schedule things on his/her calendar, but does not want this person to be able to see all of the details of existing items on that calendar. I suppose that in this case it would be unclear to which calendar the designate should add the event initially, but I'm sure that for many people the privacy of the boss's calendar is more important than the inconvenience of having to create a throwaway calendar for events created by the delegate.
If anyone has any thoughts to help refine this, please let me know and I will incorporate that into my writeup.

Maximum number of MRAS requests / allocations per user?

I have a test C++ SIP application that registers to a Lync edge server and is able to perform MRAS requests to it.
The MRAS responses allow me to create TURN allocations on the TURN component of the edge server. However, I seem to be hitting a limit with the number of simultaneous TURN allocations I can create with a single registration. I seem to be able to create
a maximum of 50 TURN allocations for that single registration.
Is this a configurable option - either per user / per edge server etc - for the maximum number of TURN allocations a single Lync user can simultaneously have? Or is there anything else I can put in the SIP/TURN signalling to increase this limit?

How to convert per device cal to per user cal

Dear Sir
We've installed windows server 2008 r2 on our server & configured rdsh for the same(as per user cal). I want to use my erp software through rds from my other office. at a same time i want to use it from my 3 machine remotly, pls advise me
which rds cal should i purchased for 3 machine. should i purchased 3 rds cals per device or per user,
I have recently purchased 1 no per device cal open license from my distributor(microsoft part no.6vc-02071).
If i want to use per user cal method, is it possible to convert this device cal to user cal , please tell me the steps for the same.

I think you may need to purchase Per User RDS CALs. As your users need to access the three machines remotely.

After you enable this setting, if users have existing devices they can
continue to use them but won't be able to add any more. Users who only
have one device currently shouldn't be able to add a second though.

RDS (2012 R2, Per User) client issues after moving from TS Licesning (Win 2K3, Per Device)

I run a XenApp environment (mixed Presentation Server 4.5, XA6.5, XA7.6... I know).
I've somewhat recently moved our RDS/TS licensing from an old 2K3 TS licensing vm that needed to go to a 2012 R2 RDS licensing vm.
The 2K3 vm ran with a Per Device mode, and the 2012 R2 vm is using a Per User model.
RDS is working fine as far as I can tell - handing out licenses to their RD Session hosts, in the proper security group which has the ability to Read/Write the MSLicensing user attributes (Terminal Server License Servers). By GPO, I am telling (and they are
applying) my XenApp servers to use their new RDS Licensing server and with a Per User model. The issue I
am seeing is this:
On a give XenApp server, the eventID 1011 - TerminalServicesRemoteConnectionManager
The remote session could not be established from remote desktop client
computername because its temporary license has expired.
When I hit the Details tab,
Windows Server 2003 - Terminal Server Per Device CAL Token.
Which then results in having to remove the MSLicensing registry key. Which is annoying. Anyone else run into this after moving licensing servers and/or models? Feedback would be awesome, danke!

According to your description, it sounds like a known issue. The workwgoup is to delete the MSLicensing key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing. (Note: please create a backup of the MSLicensing registry key and its subkeys on the
client before you remove the original key and subkeys.)

Switch from per Device to per User

I have a few RDS servers in an isolated environment that I was going to use our corporate RDS license server with. I later found out that the servers need to be in the same domain as the licensing server itself (which they are not). The
RDS servers were already built "Per Device" but now I have to build a new RDS licensing server and I am thinking about going per User with this instance. Since the RDS servers are already Per Device (but are not technically pointing to any
valid license server yet) can I switch them to be per User and then point them to the new per User RDS license server?

Hi,
Yes, you can switch the licensing mode of the RDSH servers to Per User. For Server 2012/2012 R2 RDSH servers you would just change the mode in deployment properties, and of course make sure the RDSH servers are part of a collection so that the change
will apply to them.
You will need purchased Per User RDS CALs. If you already purchased Per Device RDS CALs I recommend contacting the reseller and seeing if you can return them and purchase Per User instead. Per User RDS CALs cost more than Per Device
RDS CALs.

Need to create userdefined groups on per user basis in LMS 4.2 .

I am having some 20 nos switches that are monitored by LMS and I have created 2 users and 2 user defined device groups in LMS .
I have allocated 10 switches to one user defined group and remaining to another group.
And Is it possible to assign a user defined group to a particular user .
I want user A to monitor devices only user group A .
Is it possible ? Any comment will be highly appreciated.

Unfortunately LMS doesn't have this option where it can send approval request to only that approvar who is also in the same group of the Job initiator.
Currently all Approvers on the Approver list receive an automatic email notification where the job Approvers approve or reject the job.
You can check this under Job Approval Workflow.

ISE 1.2 & AD & Meraki - Per User Group Policy ?

I am working on a PoC for a deployment in an MDU. We are using Meraki switches and access points. There are 250 units in the building, each unit will have it's own subnet. The goal is to have the tenant be able to connect to a common building SSID and be placed into their assigned VLAN. There will also be physical ports in each unit that will need to do the same. I am trying to figure out a way to use ISE to authorize on a per user basis and not based on groups of users. On the Meraki system there are group policies that will assign the VLAN for the user as well as any type of layer 7 firewalling and bandwidth control. So there will be 250 group policies, one for each unit. There is a deployment guide that shows how to setup ISE for use with Meraki and it is great but it assumes that there will be large groups like Employees, Contractors, etc.. that will be used. This is where I'm being tripped up, also... this is my first swing at a NAC deployment so I have a lot to learn.
1.Can I setup each user in Active Directory to have a tag that ISE can then forward on to Meraki for the group policy? Say it's unit 101 and I have a group policy called 101 in Meraki, Meraki documentation says to use the Airespace-ACL-Name attribute in ISE to indicate the group policy to use. This gives me the ability to place a group into that policy but not an individual. Or would this be better done by creating the users in ISE directly? Omit AD entirely?
2. Each unit will have devices that will need MAB because they are not 802.1x compatible. I need to do the same as above with them. I would create a separate SSID for these devices but then use the MAC address to authenticate them but will need to authorize them to go into a specific group policy.
I know this isn't a typical ISE application but I think that this will work really well in the end, just need to iron out these details and get a test system functioning. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

When VLAN tagging is configured per user, multiple users can be associated to the same SSID, but their traffic is tagged with different VLAN IDs. This configuration is achieved by authenticating wireless devices or users against a customer-premise RADIUS server, which can return RADIUS attributes that convey the VLAN ID that should be assigned to a particular user’s traffic.
In order to perform per-user VLAN tagging, a RADIUS server must be used with one of the following settings:
MAC-based access control (no encryption)
WPA2-Enterprise with 802.1x authentication
A per-user VLAN tag can be applied in 3 different ways:
The RADIUS server returns a Tunnel-Private-Group-ID attribute in the Access-Accept message, which specifies the VLAN ID that should be applied to the wireless user. This VLAN ID could override whatever may be configured in the MCC (which could be no VLAN tagging, or a per-SSID VLAN tag). To have this VLAN ID take effect, “RADIUS override” must be set to “RADIUS response can override VLAN tag” under the Configure tab on the Access Control page in the “VLAN setup” section.
The RADIUS server returns a group policy attribute (e.g., Filter-ID) in the Access-Accept message. The group policy attribute specifies a group policy that should be applied to the wireless user, overriding the policy configured on the SSID itself. If the group policy includes a VLAN ID, the group policy’s VLAN ID will be applied to the user.
On the Client Details page, a client can be manually assigned a group policy. If the group policy includes a VLAN ID, the group policy’s VLAN ID will be applied to the user.

URL links for Workflow Approval Email per user & others

Hi all, we have upgraded to SRM7 and understand that we have to switch to using program /SAPSRM/OFFLINEAPPROVALSEND to generate the workflow notification emails. We have maintained the portal information in the SRM configuration to build the link. However, we have 2 issues here
1. We currently output collective email so emails are sent out at specific timing on a per user rather than per work item basis. The URL link does not seem to work in this case (for shopping cart approval example) and we get an object GUID error. The URL looks something like this

Also, even if I run the program for a PO approval example, the BOTechnicalName is still pointing to sc.
However, if I do it on a per work item basis, the URL works.
Does anyone know where the control this setting?
2. External and internal portal
We have some users connecting to the portal through more secured channel (external portal). In this case, I couldn't find a way to generate the appropriate URL for the external. In the past in the older SRM version, the program was using the attribute ITS_DEST in PPOPMA_BBP to build the URL link. Now, I do not know how the system knows which portal URL to take if the control is no longer at user level.
Has anyone ever had this requirement before?
My worse case scenario to resolve the above issues would be to use the BADI to alter the content of the email notification. The purpose of posting this message here is to ensure that I am not missing out any standard SAP functionality which could meet our requirements.

Disable USB per USER

i really need your help to disable USB per User. I have installed Windows WMS 2012 on a server and it is connected with USB to LG monitors, my issue is i have to disable USB devices per Monitor. Can anyone help me it is very urgent !!!

The easiest way is to set the permissions on the
printer utility for only the Admin account.
Go to the Applications\Utilities\Printer Utility.
Getinfo on the Printer Utility and set the "others"
to No Access.
Be sure to remove the printer(s) from the accounts
you don't want to have printing. This is a global
change and there won't be any printers available
under the users account. This will prevent (Kids)
users from adding a printer.
I just tried this and I could not get it to work for me. I changed the access on Printer Setup Utility and removed the proxy printers (~/Library/Printers) and all .plist files having to do with printing (~/Library/Preferences) from a non-administrative user account. I was still able to print from Word without any problems.
Also, when I Repaired Permissions, the permissions for the Printer Setup Utility returned to "factory specs" and "Others" again had Read permission.
Did I misinterpret your instructions?
