LMS communication error in Citrix environment

I've recently deployed a module created with Captivate 8 into Kallidus LMS and am finding a number of users are receiving the LMS communication error when they attempt to launch the module:
I've tested the module on our test and production sites, as well as on Scorm Cloud and was able to replicate the error across all three.  The issues seems to mostly affect our users who access the internet from within a Citrix environment - as far as I can tell users accessing the internet directly are not experiencing the issue.
I was wondering whether anyone had experienced the same issue, and if there were any known fixes?
Publish settings are:
Thanks
Alistar

Unfortunately the screenshot you attempted to post, I assume to show the comm error, is not appearing (at least not for me).
What's the error your users are seeing?
The most common issue I've seen with Citrix are permission issues... not sure how that would relate here though...

  • P6 Out of Memory Error in Citrix Environment

    We are using P6 V7 in a Citrix Environment. One of our users is currently experiencing an "Out of Memory" error when he is linking activities. He has also experienced the problem when deleting or copying WBS Elements (containing up to 600 activities).
    The only time that I have seen this error is when trying to import more than 2000 or so Activities from XLS at a time.
    The project that he is working in currently has around 10000 activities.
    Has anyone else had this problem? And, if so, found a workable solution?

    Does it only affect the one user? Can somebody else perform the same functions without error? If so, his user preferences are probably corrupt. Reset them using the following SQL:
    Update userdata set user_data = null where topic_name = 'pm_settings' and user_id in (select user_id from users where user_name = '<username>');
    where <username> is the user's P6 username.

  • Live office database errors in Citrix - underlying WebI reports work fine

    Hi,
    We have a live office report with 30 tabs in the excel file i.e. 30 webi report parts in it. It accesses 20 webi reports, each built on a BEX query.
    Please see below the error which users get while running the report in Citrix environment. The underlying WebI report has no database errors, and we were able to run the Live Office reports at the same time on LAN. The Citirx users get these database/auth errors intermittently, on different tabs of the report at different times - the underlying BO reports are error free and users have proper rights to execute them.
    "An error occured while opening the report. The report does not exist; youhave insufficient rights to open the report; or you cannot make a connection to the BusinessObjects Web Service. (LO 02010)
    Failed to get the document information (LO 26315)
    A database error occured. The database error text is: ...."
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Soumya

    Hi,
    BO Version is BO XI 3.1 SP2 FP2.1
    Datasource - BEX queries BW Relese 701, support pack level 8
    We have made users login to Infoview and checked that they are able to execute the WebI reports. Also, earlier they were able to run all reports, so there is no access problem.
    These errors started occuring when we had to refersh BO Universes after some of the BEX queries changed. We even asked users to stop using the excel files on which they used to get errors, thinking the files may be corrupt. Then we sent them new files which we had successfully refershed at our end. But still they get these errors in their environment.
    Please advise.

  • "Cannot open semaphore" in Citrix environment

    Hi
    I have a TUX running on a Citrix Server in NT box and is having the following
    error in over and over again.
    TRACE:at: { tpreturn(2, 0, 0x14ff8f0, 100000, 0x0)
    TUXNT_CAT:2: ERROR: Cannot open semaphore 'IPC651': The system cannot find the

    I have tried both rebooting the server and re-installing TUX, doesn't help. I
    am suspecting that this is because of the nature of Citrix, where TUX is confused
    with which client it is connecting to. Does anyone have any similar experience?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Manoj,
    Thanks for your response. Well, even through I am not 100% sure, I am fairly confidence
    that TUX does like Citrix architecture after a series of testing. Here is my theory,
    while it remains okay to have TUX client in Citrix environment, TUX server is
    confused with the session architecture in Citrix. While TUX is "routing" "some"
    of the requests and messages, it looks for a semapore that is handled by Citrix
    (and might have destroyed?). And thus it fails.
    Of course... its just my guess work. =P
    Thanks again

  • Advanced setting for all users in a Citrix environment

    I would like to disable the Advanced option "Allow editing directly in cells" for Excel 2010.  It is used in a Xenapp (Citrix ) environment using upm or roaming profiles.  How can i avoid having each user make this setting wich is then

  • Crystal Reports 8.5 and Ms-Sql in Citrix Environment

    Hello All:
    I have a VB application that accessed data from a SQL-2005 database.  We use Crystal (8.5) for several reports. On the network or using VNC viewer all the reports work fine. However when we access te reports from Citrix client, none of the can access the data.  We get a error message saying that the ODBCconnection cannot be found. I dont see how this could be the problen since everythng else works, includng ading and updating data.
    What do I  need to do to get this working?
    Thanks in advance.

    There is a document for Crystal Reports in Citrix environment written for exporting error, but I think it could be applicable for your situation.
    I quote it here:
    "... errors occur because Citrix Server and Terminal Server use the User Path Variable rather than the System Path Variable for clients.
    Solution:
    This solution has been written for Crystal Reports 8.5. The directory path to the Crystal folder may be different in other versions. For example, in Crystal Reports 9, copy files from c:\program files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin to winnt\crystal.
    By default, the Crystal Reports export drivers (DLLs) are installed to the %systemroot%\Crystal directory (generally C:\Winnt\Crystal), which is not included in the User Path Variable. Each user will have a specific User Path Variable making it difficult to update each one.
    Steps to Resolve:
    Therefore, to resolve these issues, copy files from the Crystal directory to the Citrix Serveru2019s or Terminal Serveru2019s System directory.
    1. Copy the files from the following directory:
    %systemroot%\Crystal
    CAUTION
    Do not delete the %systemroot\Crystal directory. Other Business Objects products may require this directory.
    2. Paste the files to the System directory. For example, in Terminal Server, the System directory is generally:
    Winnt\System32
    NOTE
    Verify the correct directory location in your environment.
    With the DLLs in the System directory, the User Path Variable will be able to locate them. The error messages should be resolved and exporting should be successful."

  • Problem Launching BPC for Excel in Terminal Services/Citrix Environment

    Hello.
    We are having an issue launching BPC in our terminal services/citrix environment. This is not the main way that users will be accessing BPC, but we plan to have it available for off-hours/off-site use.
    Here are details on our environment.
    1) BPC version: 5.0.502 (5.1, SP3, patch 4)
    2) Env: 1 web/app server, 1 database server
    3) SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition, SP2
    4) Problem occurs sporadically for any user.
    In some instances, launching BPC for Excel does not bring up the connection wizard, instead, an error message displays saying "Object Variable is not set". We then logoff, delete the terminal services profile, and logon again, forcing the creation of a new terminal services profile, and BPC for Excel will launch the connection wizard as expected. So it seems that the terminal services profile sometimes gets corrupted. Does someone know which Windows registry key would cause this situation so we can determine the root problem? Deleting the profile is not a practical permanent solution. This is only an issue in terminal services/citrix, no other environment.
    I opened this with support, but they said it's my problem. I'd appreciate any ideas to solve this. Thanks, Nancy

    Hello,
    I have exactly the same problem too (Citrix / BPC 7.0M SP6 Client).
    Do you have a solution regarding this issue ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Fatal Communication Error

    Hello, everyone.
    I am fairly new to the world of SQL server, so I apologize for any newbie errors in my question. I am also not sure if this is an SQL, IIS, or Windows Server issue.
    The Environment:
    One physical server running Hyper-V
    Physical server is acting as domain controller, Hyper-v host and DNS server
    All servers are part of the same domain.
    Server version is 2012 R2 in all instances.
    SQL version is 2014 in all instances.
    .NET version is 4.5
    All software is fully updated.
    The Virtual Servers:
    SQL Server
    IIS Web Server
    Test Server with IIS and SQL
    The Problem:
    The IIS Web Server cannot connect to the SQL Server without the application pool crashing.
    The SQL Server logs show the login from the web server was successful.
    The web server’s event logs show a “fatal communication error with the Windows Process Activation service.”
    Other Facts:
    When the IIS server and SQL server are on the same “machine” (the test server mentioned above) there are no issues at all – everything runs normally.
    The website code is identical in both cases, as is the SQL configuration, including users and permissions.
    If the connection on the test (previously working) is changed to connect to the standalone SQL server, the problem triggers, the app pool crashes, and the error message in the event log is the same as in the standalone web server.
    For testing, the firewalls have been turned off on all servers and it makes no difference.
    Windows authentication and SQL authentication both have the same results.
    Using a standalone UDL file, a connection CAN be made to the SQL server from any other server, including the IIS Web Server where the app. pool crashes.
    I realize I am no providing actual examples, but based on the information above, I am hoping to get some direction on where to look for a problem. Most of the information I have found on the error deals with Sharepoint, which is not a variable in my case.
    Since the firewalls have been turned off, the problem only happens when attempting to connect to SQL from an outside server, and only happens through IIS, I am at a loss on what else to check.
    Thank you in advance for any relevant advice.

    Hello,
    By your description, it sounds like an issue with the IIS server. The fact you can connect to SQL Server using all methods except through IIS (where it crashes) means that connectivity is good and SQL Server isn't throwing any errors. My other thought is
    that there may be an issue with DNS and the way you have the virtual switches configured with the host.
    Unfortunately I don't know all that much about IIS or Hyper-V specific host configurations for something such as this. Someone here may be able to help you further, or it could be moved the IIS/Hyper-V specific forums. I'd be willing to continue to help
    out from the SQL Server side if that was to become the case.

  • Can we run InDesign CS6 on a citrix environment?

    We are now working with InDesign CS4 on a Citrix environment and we would like to upgrade to InDesign CS6. Will this work? What version of Citrix is best used?

    Yes is the quick answer to the question.  This is pretty common in large organizations for design departments or knowledge workers that need access to Creative Suite applications.  Although most of the links and documents is on CS5, I have not heard about problems in CS6. InDesign does not require OpenGL hardware acceleration.
    Here are some links on the Adobe web site:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/indesign/documentation.html#citrix
    http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/indesign/pdfs/indesign_cs5_citrix_support _document.pdf
    (unfortunate typo in Adobe's document title)
    The Citrix Ready Community Verified site also has customer comments on how to run InDesign on XenApp 6.x.
    http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=303877
    Judging from the number of votes (11) on http://community.citrix.com/citrixready/product/adobe+indesign+cs4+v6+0, there are numerous companies doing this, both on XenApp and XenDesktop, however it is hard to track who does what in our installed base.
    Hope this helps.

    Duane,
    don't knowwhy you chose to extend VButton, but the following code works for me. Note that I extend the VBean class. Also I am using Jinitiator 1.3.1.9 (this is what I had available for testing). My first test chowed that there was a problem with the way you specify teh URL string, which is why I harcoded the URL string when building the URL.
    Another issue when running it is that you need to sign the file because it needs socket permission (at least this was the error shown on a remote client).
    Here's the code
    package mypackage3;
    import oracle.forms.ui.*;
    import oracle.forms.properties.ID;
    import java.net.URL;
    import java.applet.*;
    import javax.swing.JTextField;
    import oracle.forms.handler.IHandler;
    public class Class1 extends VBean {
    public final static ID PLAY = ID.registerProperty("PLAY");
    private IHandler mHandler = null;
    public Class1()
    super();
    public void init(IHandler handler)
    mHandler = handler;
    super.init(handler);
    public boolean setProperty(ID property, Object value) {
    if (property == PLAY)
    try
    System.out.println("before soundplay");
    URL sou = new URL("http://fnimphiu-lap.de.oracle.com/forms60java/Drums.wav");
    System.out.println("1");
    //Applet testapp = new Applet();
    Applet testapp = mHandler.getApplet();
    System.out.println("2");
    AudioClip clip = testapp.getAudioClip(sou);
    System.out.println("3");
    clip.play();
    System.out.println("after soundplay");
    return true;
    catch(Exception ex)
    ex.printStackTrace();
    return super.setProperty(property, value);

  • Need to resume task sequence after unplanned reboot - Error Task Sequence environment not found

    The task sequence in SCCM 2012 R2 is being used to deploy a Hyper-V host on Windows Server 2012 R2.
    When installing the Hyper-V role, we have a intermittent issue where after the restart, the TRUSTEDINSTALLER installs a kernel driver (vmswitch.sys) and then restarts the system while the SCCM engine is waiting for the SCCM client to initialize.
    This breaks the TSE and it throws the error "Task Sequence Environment not found" a few minutes later.
    Does anyone know of any way to RESUME the task sequence, or to set the TSEnv.dat back to a clean state that will allow it to resume the TS? I am thinking about configuring an AutoLogon/Logon script that will check try and recover & resume these failures.

    Use sc command to put Windows Module Installer to disabled in your script after Enabling Hyper-v Role. When the system completely restarts, change it to Manual or Automatic.

  • While c.lick the print button, communication error is raising

    Hi,
    Environment details:
    OS: Windows 2008 with IIS-7
    Crystal report 2008 runtime deliverables are installed
         I am using aspx to launch the report. The crystal report is getting launched and all the options are working fine. But When i try to print the report. It throw error as Communication error. In this environment virtual directory is exposed to launch through internet. The PrintControl.cab file is getting downloaded.
         While analysing the problem by fiddler, i find out the print task request url additionally contains port number 8080 and the response is Gateway timeout Error(Http response code:504). The report launching process is out the postback url with portnumber.
         Can anyone please help me to overcome this issue?
    Thanks,
    Ramkumar M

    Look for the search box in the top right corner of this web page. Enter the following string: 'Communication error crystal net'. You should get a number of results. See if any of those help.

  • 'MSExchangeSyncAppPool' suffered a fatal communication error

    We receive the following error from SCOM2007 R2 for our Exchange 2010 SP2 RU4v2 CAS. I don't see anything in the event logs. I ran across the below KB but it really doesn't apply to our environment as we have no Exchange 2003. We are still running
    a mixed 2007 environment though. However, that won't be for much longer.

    and is the MSExchangeSyncAppPool still running? You can check in IIS. If the App pool is restarting , it will show
    in the System Logs. If things are working and no one is complaining, then I would simply continue to monitor
