LMS.exe using 25% CPU

Noticed that the LMS.exe on my new T510 is constantly using 25% of the CPU, I assume this is not normal, anyone know what I need to tweak please?

I don't know why it's constantly using 25% CPU, but i belive the file belong to "Local Manageability Service" (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-74374). You could try to upgrade to the latest version if not already done so. I'm also under the impression that very few people actually use this so you could uninstall as well and disable in BIOS if you don't need it. I don't have it installed and keep it disabled in BIOS since i don't need it. Like to only install what i need to keep it as simple and clean as possible.

I upgraded to iTunes 10.5 on XP and now it and applemobiledeviceservice.exe use 100% CPU. How do I fix this?

When I called Apple Support to ask about the 100%  CPU usage, they wanted to charge me because my Ipod was out of warranty.  I insisted on talking to someone and finally got to talk to a software engineer for free.  He said that he had never heard of the problem in his three years at Apple.  Nonetheless, he sounded really interested and suggested that it might be a conflict with anti-virus software.   I deleted the antiviruse and that DID NOT HELP AT ALL.
It seems as if Apple could care less.    There is no official response.   Their primary response is to look at the Forum.   At least you find out that the problem isn't your fault, it really is Apple!!!!
So far the best solution is just to delete iTunes and use Mediamonkey to sync your pod.
    Apple, please fix this!!!!!

  • EP 6 SR1 -  jlaunch.exe using 25% cpu under no load

    Hi,
We installed EP SR1 (patches SP9) on virtual machine on MS Virtual Server 2005.
J2EE server (jlaunch.exe process) is using 25% cpu on average without any load (no user interaction).
Response is slow when accessing the portal.
I assume this is not a normal behavior of J2EE engine.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, suggestions on how to resolve it will be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
I have exactly the same problem with EP 7.0 on NW2004s under Windows 2003 x64.
Does anybody know how I can solve this problem ?
    Thanks,

  • A process java.exe uses 100% cpu

This problem stops me start database 10g on Windows XP. I am wondering anyone might have same experience before and could share how to fix the issue. Here is situation:
Every time when 10g database starts, a process java.exe which is loaded by nmesrvc.exe (I think it is OracleDBConsoleMyInstance, right?) uses 89% cpu forever. Because of this, OEM couldn't work! Shutdowning the database and restarting it didn't solve the problem. Killing nmesrvc.exe can stop the java.exe. SQL*Plus still works. But iSQL*Plus didn't works.
If I stop process OracleDBConsoleMyInstance from Services of Windows, I got error: Error 1053.
What is wrong here. Your help will be appreciated,

I had the same problem and was able to resolve it.
I am using 2 W2K3 servers, one for infrastructure and one for mid-tier (Portal). On the infrastructure machine I used the Administrative Tools -> Services Management Console and first stopped the OracleDBConsole, CPU was still 100% busy. Then I stopped the OracleINFRAControl and the CPU went to 0%. Then I restarted the OracleINFRAControl and then OracleDBConsole and now the CPU is hovering around 2%.
I ran some tests from another machine and everything seems fine.

  • Webcached.exe uses all CPU on IAS server

Hi, I'm having trouble with a process called webcached.exe according to Windows task manager, this process takes all available CPU resources, so our IAS server hangs. Anyone why this is? Any help highly appriciated! I'm pretty new to Oracle Application server, and have not experienced this before...
Is there a way to "go around" web cache until this issue is resolved, i.e. not use cache for a while perhaps? Longer responses are better than complete hangups....
I've tried to just stop the webcache process, but this apparently is not the way to go...

Your post is a while ago... but you should upgrade Web Cache to 10.1.2.3, or install it in a separate location and configure it against your backend application. This is supported.
Webcache 9.0.4 is known to have some performance issues :)

  • Ituneshelper.exe uses 50% cpu

I walk into the room and my wife is playing her games on Pogo. I hear the dell fan running like mad and ask her how long it has been running so loudly. She says for over an hour and it won't stop. I look at task manager and see ituneshelper.exe is using 50% of the cpu.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Ok, stopped iTunesHelper and then ran iTunes and quit iTunes: everything is now behaving. (I'm not even seeing iTunesHelper in the Processes tab when I open iTunes now.) Odd? I've also just restarted and run iTunes without any any spike in CPUs by iTunesHelper as well. ??? (Tentative cheers!)
When I first upgraded to 7.5, iTunesHelper was immediately using major CPUs, even after I closed iTunes (but not of course after ending the process). I restarted the computer and opened iTunes (and had to reinstall missing files) and ran into the same CPU situation, which seemed to be upon opening the program if I recollect.
I'll post again if this issue has not resolved (as it currently seems to be). Thank you, thank you!!

  • Apple mobile device exe used excessive CPU

I am running iTunes on Windows 7 32 bits and as sson as I open Itunes, Apple Mobile Device exe. will start to use up to 50% of my CPU. Even when I have closed iTunes this contnues. Is there a fif for this since it will of course mean that all other processes will be slowed down and that the heat from the CPU finally will lower the life of my lap op.

You can try looking at some of the previous posts on the right under the heading "More Like This" with your same problem.

  • Service Host (svchost.exe) Using 99% CPU

    Hey guys-
I know this question has been asked for other Windows OS's, but none of their fixes apply on Windows 8.
When I log in, everything is fine, everything is very smooth and even faster than when I used Windows 7, but after a few minutes my CPU becomes locked at ~99%, mostly because of svchost.
As it appears on Task Manager, the process is Service Host (No Impersonation). The sub-processes are Function Discovery Resource Publication, SSDP Recovery, Time Broker, and UPnP Device Host. I tried several fixes that worked in XP or 7, but they either
can't be used in 8 or detect nothing is wrong.
This is the only thing that makes me dislike 8 so far, a fix would be fantastic.

Make a xperf trace to see the cause. Install the WPT (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/4847.install-the-windows-performance-toolkit-wpt-en-us.aspx),
open a CMD prompt with admin rights and type this:
xperf -on latency -stackwalk profile -buffersize 1024 -MaxFile 512 -FileMode Circular && timeout -1 && xperf -d highCPUUsage.etl
after you captured 30s of the cpu usage, go back to CMD prompt and press a key to stop the logging. Now compress the highCPUUsage.etl as 7z (LZMA2, ULTRA) to reduce the size. Upload this file to your SkyDrive or Dropbox and post a link
    here.
If you have upgraded from Windows 8.1 and you have a high CPU usage that you can't detect in Process Explorer like shown here:
you have an issue with a scheduled task. Look at the green "sdclt.exe". This means the sdclt.exe is started very often. This causes the CPU usage.
You can see this best in ProcessMonitor:
The solution is to disable this task in the task scheduler:
Also phone the Support and open a case so that MS can fix this issue.

  • Major issues with plugincontainer.exe using high cpu freezing firefox 34

Plugincontainer.exe is ruining my experience with firefox by constantly causing it to freeze due to high cpu use. Please advise of a work around or other solution. Thank you.

The only solution I have found was to downgrade to Firefox version 30.
The odd thing is that the high cpu does not happen on all web sites. wsj.com (Wall Street Journal) is fine, but cspan.org is not.
My PC does not freeze up, but it has a sustained CPU usage of 70 to 80 percent. I am running an Intel Dual Core on Windows XP.
Is this the case that my CPU is just to slow? This should no be the case since version 30 runs at the regular 15 to 30% usage.
Forgot to mention that this is the Adobe Flash player that is causing the high CPU readings.
    Thx

  • ITunes v7.7.0.43 syncclient. exe using excessive cpu

I recently updated iTunes to v7.7.0.73 and my orginal iPhone to v2 and the syncclient.exe process is going nuts! As soon as iTunes is started, this process consumes almost all available cpu and creates constant disk reads (VERY BUSY) until I kill it.
I found similar posts on the iTouch Discussion so this is clearly a iTunes problem. Disabling Sync in iTunes will prevent the process from starting but...

  • Qttask.exe using 95%+ CPU

I've installed iTunes on my PC and it's now virtually come to a halt.
The culprit appears to be something called qttask.exe which is taking 95-99% of my CPU power.
I understand this is something to do with updates for Quicktime.
I've uninstalled once and re-installed again, but still the same result.
Any clues on what's wrong and how to solve this?

In QT settings uncheck system tray icon. Then go to Start>Run and type in msconfig and click OK then click on the Startup tab and uncheck qttask.exe. This will stop it from loading on startup and let you know if QT is the culprit, which unlikely it is

My question is: How can i debug on this issue ?. I was thinking bad data or something could lead to this high load.

  • Solution: iTunes 10.5 using 100% CPU / Not backing up your iPhone.

This solution has been documented on this forum by several people, but the solution is usually deep in multiple threads.  I really don't know who came up with it first, but it does indeed work.
I had an issue with iTunes.exe, APSDaemon, and AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe using 100% CPU per core.  (Showed as 25% in Task Manager.)
I could not backup my iPhone and the CPU spike happened as soon as iTunes 10.5 was started on Windows 7 Home Premium x64.
    This solved it.
    Sounds stupid but works:
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click "Command Prompt" -> "Run as Administrator")
    3. Once in the command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset" and hit ENTER.
    4. Reboot your machine.
    5. Restart iTunes.
    6. ???
    7. Profit!

The netsh winsock reset resolved both the problem of AppleMobileDeviceService.exe using 100% of my CPU and the blank iTunes blank store issue.
XP Pro user here that had gone through the detailed step-by-step process of uninstalling iTunes as described on the support page but both problems still existed.
    Glad I saw this. Thanks.
    Now on to :
          7. Profit!

  • New x301 - Taskmgr.exe uses "constant" amount of CPU. My t60 does not why?

When I click on "Start Task Manager" I notice that even with ALL programs closed, the only process to use CPU between 2% and 10% is the Task manager (taskmgr.exe).
I also have a t60 (xp pro sp3) and noticed that task manager users 0% CPU. I know its not absolute zero but not enough to count as 1% and does not kept using up CPU.
This is my first 64 bit system. It's 1.4 dual core with 4gb ram and 128gb solid state drive.
Why is taskmgr.exe using up so much CPU %? How can this be fixed?
Anyone else with an x301 or 64bit lenovo with this similar behavior?
    Thanks
