LMS3.2 - Topology Maps not going red

I'm experiecing an issue similar to that in https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3225665#3225665, whereby device icons on the Topology Services Campus Maps are not turning red when the device goes down, unless I manually close all of the Topology Services windows, and then re-open Topology Services from fresh.
I've followed the steps in the above forum post, including adding entries to my local hosts files and turning on the various status, frontend, core, and corex debugging under Campus Manager > Admin > Debugging Options > Data Collection - but the issue still persists.
Is there anything else I need to configure to get the devices to dynamically turn red/green? According to the logs I can see, the poller knows that the devices are up or down, and the Device Poller is set at 10 minutes, but Topology Services doesn't seem to dynamically refresh the icons.

Resolution
For all those who are interested, the answer seemed to be to update to CiscoWorks LMS 3.2.1 - also known as CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
This seemed to resolve the issues I was having; although I did also have to rebuild my entire CiscoWorks LMS setup by installing from scratch and re-setting all fifty million variables.
Update all CiscoWorks Application Software versions
It's also worth making sure that your CiscoWorks Suite Software Applications are as up-to-date as possible by going to
Common Services -> Software Center -> Software Update.
At time of writing, the latest CiscoWorks Suite Software Application versions are:
       Bundle Name        Version
1.     LMS                    3.2.1
Product Name                            Version With Patch Level
1.         Campus Manager                       5.2.2
2.         CiscoView                                  6.1.9
3.         CiscoWorks Assistant                1.2.0
4.         CiscoWorks Common Services    3.3.1
5.         Device Fault Manager                  3.2.1
6.         Integration Utility                         1.9.0
7.         Internetwork Performance Monitor 4.2.1
8.         LMS Portal                                 1.2.1
9.         Resource Manager Essentials      4.3.2
Ensure you have set the Topology Status Poller
By default, only devices in the Critical Device Poller are polled for reachability (red or green), every 2 hours I think. If you want to ensure all devices on the Topology Services Map are polled for reachability:
Go to Campus Manager -> Administration -> Data Collection -> Device Poller and set the checkbox to "All Devices", then set the polling time as appropriate (ours is set for every 10 minutes, or 0:10:00
You'll probably need to completely restart your Topology Services (main Topology Services window, File -> Exit to close all Java Topology Services windows) for any changes to this to take effect.

  • Topology map not working in LMS 3.1

    Hi,
I recently did a clean installation of LMS 3.1. The topology services is not working returning an error named "Failed to initialize: Java.lang.NumberFormatException: null"in the pop up window.
    Any help would be appreciated

I can't unse this version of java plug-ins because in a screen of Campus
Manager said you need to install java 1.5. I deinstalled all plug-ins of Java of my notebook an then install only plug-ins that LMS 3.1 have jre-1_5_0_15-windows-i586-p_withvbj.exe
Only with this plug-ins, Topology map is working now.
    Thanks.

  • LMS 2.6 VG202, 202, and 224 Not showing in Topology Map!

    Hello,
Would there be a reason for VG202, 204, and 224 not to show in the topology map?
I can see the devices under Device Management in RME, also can see them unde the Topology Services window, however, when the topology map comes up, I cannot see the devices in there, when I try to find them they are not listed, andn ot listed in the Device type within the VTP Domain Topology window that shows a map of the devices on our domain neither!
Do I need to download a MIB for these devices for the topology map to recognise them?
PS: The following is a list of Software Spec I have installed on our network:
    LMS 2.6
    CiscoWork Common Services 3.0.6
    Campus Manager 4.0.13
    CiscoView 6.1.5
    Device Fault Manager 2.0.13
    Integration Utility 1.6.0
    Resource Manager Essentials 4.0.6
    Many thanks,

    Dear Joseph,
Apologies for my late reply, I was away on Holiday.
Checking on our topology map the VG202 and 204 show as a green box with a question mark on it.
I connected to the switch that they are attached to and I can see the devices when I run the sh cdp nei command.
    Any advise please?

  • ABAP Mapping Not getting triggered

    Hi All,
I have implemented ABAP Mapping in my object. My interface mapping contains three mappings, two graphical mappins and the third one is the ABAP Mapping. Data flows from first to second to ABAP MApping (A ABAP Class).
While testing the scenario, i put one break point in the abap class and tried to test the scenario from SXI_MAPPING_TEST. But the control does not go to the break point which i have put in the abap class.
Also i added some code to update a database table with a hard coded value. While testing with SXI_MAPPING_TEST, it didn't update the table. While running the class from SE80 (We can not put SOURCE here), the database table was updated successfully.
What i have concluded is that the control is not going to the ABAP Mapping class. I'm not sure why it is happening. Also I'm new to ABAP Mapping.
It would be great if you could suggest me some solution..
    Thanks in Advance
    Waiting for reply.

red alert when email Is not going out of SOLMAN
red alert when email are not received bask into  SOLMAN

    > I am saying some time all mail goes ok and some time mails doesnot go at all.
    > we have external - internet means it goes to our outlook as well as our gmail also.
    > SMTP IS alredy configured.
Your mailserver is sometimes requesting authentication and sometimes not. The reason for that can't be found in the SAP system but in the mailserver since that is requesting the authentication.
"Webmail" is the application on top but that is not the system sending and receiving the mail.
The SAP system is out of scope here. I'd check the mail server logs why it is requesting authentication sometimes and sometimes not.

  • Invalid record not going into E$ table

    Hi,
I am using Oracle as source and target but source and target table is on different database.lets say
base table EMP_SRC table --> ABC database
fact table EMP_TRG table --> XYZ database
and some dimension table are also in XYZ Database. and all FK constraint are there in fact table.
I created one interface in which on source dataset i drag base table and dimension table for lookup and join the code columns with base table code and on target side i am populating keys and measures value correspondence the  base table data which matched with dim table.
    I am using KM
    LKM SQL to SQL
    IKM SQL incremental update
    Option:
    Flow control : true
    CKM SQL
when i run the Interface it is getting successful with valid records but in base table there is some invalid record also which is not going into E$ table
why it is happening ? did I miss something ? Please help me
    Thanks.

I am doing little modification here
    BASE_DATA:
    RSN_CODE
    QUANTITY
    DATA_DIM:
    ID_RSN (PK)
    RSN_CODE
your join need to be BASE_DATA.RSN_CODE = DATA_DIM.RSN_CODE(+)
your target table will have as mapping
    TGT_DIM:
    ID_RSN (PK): DATA_DIM.ID_RSN
    QUANTITY: BASE_DATA.QUANTITY
    Now
    Base_Data
    RSN_CODE       Quantity
    1A                    120
    1B                    260
    1C                     130

    1                    1A
    2                     1B
    3                    1C

    After execution
    TGT_DIM
    ID_RSN          QUANTITY
    1                    120
    2                    260
    3                    130
    and in E$ table
    ODI_ROW_ID    :    F
    ODI_ERR_MESS  :   ODI-15066: The column ID_RSN cannot be null.
    ODI_CHECK_DATE  :   24-JUL-13
    RSN_CODE   :    (null)

    ODI_ERR_MESS  :   ODI-15066: The column ID_RSN cannot be null.
    ODI_CHECK_DATE  :   24-JUL-13

  • LMS 4.2 bent or crooked Topology Map links

    Hello all,
I'm trying to include as much info as I can, so forgive the lengthy post. I have an ongoing issue with reoccurring bent or crooked Topology map links. Imagine two devices that are in the same region, even installed in the same data closet. The map link between device A may go off across the map, take a 90 degree turn, run a little bit, then take another 90 degree turn back to device B. The bent links are not between all devices and seems to reappear even after I right-click and delete the link(s). The bent links may even reappear between numerous different devices, even after I cleanly log out of my map and LMS. I have worked with at least two Cisco TAC support CSE's who have never seen this issue (scary), and have been unable to provide a solution except to delete my "Layer~2~View.xml" server profile file, but this is no guaranteed fix.
    Here is my LMS setup:
    > Windows Server 2008 SP1, with all Important updates
    > Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.3
    > Workstation is Win7 Enterprise, fully patched
    > Internet Explorer 9
    > Java SE 6 Update 38
This issue was also happening under LMS 4.2.2.  Based on another article I found on these forums, I have deleted and recreated all of my LMS databases to defaults, to no avail. I am also fighting another issue where my Topology maps are not saving, producing the "Unable to save map..." message in the lower-left map corner (I added my comments to an existing post about that annoying issue.)
See attached picture for an example.
Any suggestions or comments are welcome.
    Thanks!

    Hi,

I cleared the java from my computer and opened the LMS by IE. The java was intalled but topology map did not started.

2 days in a row i was on the phone with verizon. my mail is intermitly being sent to my phone. anybody else having that problem?

    First try this solution:
Re-validate the integrated account. To do this, complete the following steps:
Log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service account.
Beside the invalid integrated email account, an icon of an envelope with a red line through it will be displayed. Click the icon.
If you are still having the issue then you would go thru steps of :
(Associating an email account using the BlackBerry smartphone)

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2: How to rebuild Topology Maps?

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with the Topology Map feature introduced in PI 2.2. There are switches/devices in the topology map wihtout a single managed link. The device just sits there all alone. I think this must be some issue with the topology map building process, since all my switches are connected directly to the core switches and some of them show up with managed links and some do not. All the switches are basically configured the same and run the same software image (15.0(2)EX4, 15.0(2)EX4). I would like to rebuild the topology maps from scratch to see if there is an issue with the topology data already stored in the database. Is there a switch in PI that triggers a rebuild of the topology maps? Of course, any other solution or hint is appreciated as well.
    - Benjamin
PS: Google didn't come up with an answer on this one and I couldn't find a solution in the PI documentation, that's why I'm asking here :)

I think I found the solution: All the switches without a managed link are connected via vPC to the NEXUS Core. So obviously vPCs are not shown in the topology maps ...
