LO26620 Messages in XCelsius 3.5 Dashboards

Hi community!
Created an XCelsius-Dashboard receiving data from 4 Crystal reports via 7 live office connections.
XC refreshes minute-by-minute, Crystal reports are scheduled to run a synchronous 2 minutes beat.
Initially it worked fine, but is now getting more and more unusable due to tenacious exception throwing:
- LO26620 ('failed to load persistent view')
Often:
- LO26000 ('some kind of error...' - not very helpful, alas)
Sometimes:
- LO26610 ('no report connection' - sound like a more general LO26620)
- LO26002 ('wrong BO web service version' - but why does it work here and there?)
Number of exceptions per refresh varies from 0 up to 7, in average near 5.
The dashboard has 5 - 10 parallel users.
As a test tool I built some quite simple dashboards receiving data from just one of the LO connections.
Nearly same behaviour shows up, though, no matter which crystal report or LO Object is used.
Environment: Windows Server 2008 | MSO 2007 | Flash Player 10 | BO Edge 3.1 SP3, BO XI Integration 3.1 SP3, LO XI 3.1 SP3, CR 2008 SP3, XC 2008 FP 3.5
May it be a kind of sync problem, LO likes to read data but there's a new crystal instance in progress and the previous one thus 'hidden' somehow? Or something completely different?
Any suggestion is really appreciated.

The current state is
- FP level adjustment towards 3.5 is still in progress, however, the story started some weeks ago on a (as far as I know) clean 3.2 level
- anyone connecting to the dashboard from anywhere suffers from all these exceptions
- the exception frequency reduces with the number of concurrent users of the dashboard - being the only one, everthing's nearly fine
- at least while all CRs pause, there are no exceptions
After all, there is just a single server for both BOBJ development and business application.
I strongly agree to have a separate development and test server, but any progress on this may take some time. Thus I will examine the impact of the Crystal reports in more detail as soon as we have a clean FP level. The progress will be posted.
Beside this: Am I right to take your tips stating there's presumably no rather simple cause?

Hi Team,
I am new to BOBJ and its components. I want to integerate SAP CRM system with Xcelsius to generate dashboards. As per my understanding only through three sources we can generate Xcelsius dashboards
1) Excel sheet 2) Web services 3) Live Office
Now in this case, how can I generate Xcelsius dashboards. How can I connect it to CRM system and How can I fetch the data from it?

to create dashboards with xcelsius is not a big issue, just you've to understand how u get the data from ur database , for the excel sheet its a primary thing that make the xcelsius dashboards work, for the other things its just a work arounds to let ur data come live
like "Live Office" , or "Web Service" or "XML Data map",,,, etc
based on ur business and ur available tools, you can use anything of them to get the data life to the Xcelsius dashboards, read the xcelsius developer guide from business objects thats may help you much around this issue

Import xcelsius sheet in dashboard and also keep my current sheet in place

Dear Gurus:
Is it possible to import xcelsius sheet in dashboard and also keep my current sheets in place because what is happening now is when I import xcelsius sheet it is replacing it with my current sheets whereas I don't want to replace the sheets, I want to add the sheets.
I have a dashboard containing A,B,C,D,E,F sheets but there is another sheet G, which is in another dashboard, to avoid the repeatation of work I want to add G sheet along with A,B,C,D,E,F. I first export the sheet from dashboard and then importing this in another dashboard but when I import it A,B,C,D,E,F sheets lost.
Is there a way that I add sheets while importing instead of replacing sheets while importing.

1st export your A,B,C,D,E,F sheets
and save it
2nd open your A,B,C,D,E,F sheets excel file and also
open your G sheet excel
right click on G excel sheet
select MOVE OR COPY option
select TO book where you want to copy the G sheet excel in your case select A,B,C,D,E,F sheets excel file
after that save your excel file
you will see all the sheet in one excel file
after that import that file to dashboard

How to automate refresh of the existing Xcelsius 4.5 dashboard

I have bunch of dashboards developed in 4.5. These dashboards are manually refreshed via updating the spreadsheets and importing and exporting to swf file. Now my company wants all this process to be automated. I would like to know more about automation i.e about QAWS option etc ?Information like what are components I need to implement this automation and how to do etc. Please help. Thanks,Veena.

Hi Veena,
I can provide feedback on Liveoffice at the moment.
Here is a summary of the steps.
1. Install Liveoffice (once you install this you will see a Liveoffice menu in excel)
2. Create the webintelligence reports (or crystal reports) that fetch the required data.
3. From excel go to Liveoffice >> Insert >> Web Intelligence Content (or crystal)
4. Select the required webi reports/tab/table.
5. This will bring the data into the excel file. (you can set options to refresh your data here within the Liveoffice component)
6. Use this excel file for your dashboard.
7. Insert a Connection Refresh button from Xcelsius.
These are high level steps, you might need more details for setting up connection to the server in question.
I believe you might be able to fish out some more detailed documentation elsewhere on this website.
Yes, it would mean that you have to create all the web intelligence reports in question if you already do not have those.

Flash Player 10 throws error messages for Xcelsius 2008

Version 5.0.0.99, Build Number 12,1,0,247
Flash Player Version WIN 10,0,32,18
Operating System: Windows XP
Steps to reproduce:
If I copy a Horizontal Slider component and open its Properties panel to change Title or Data through Cell Selector button, the General tab and click OK I get the following error message

Send a message with Xcelsius instance

I have made a flash file by Xcelsius , through liveoffice it can show the latest contents,now I exported it into infoview,the people can login infoview and see the results .
but it don't like the other Web Intelligence file ,can not make a plan.
I want to konw whether infoview can send Xcelsius instance ? would you have some measures to slove it ,thank you very much!

Sorry may have read that wrong, if your using iMessages on iPad on a wifi connection then no, e.g I could send lots of web texts to mobile on my wifi connection, I thought u mean using a hotspot from a mobile to use your iPad..

B1i Dashboard message

Hi,
I installed the b1 integration server.
If I start now the dashboard I got the message.
Error: The requested dashboard does not exist. Dashboard: /com.sap.b1.dashboards/0010000100.sap_dashboard_001.dab001/default.html
If this dashboard is newly imprted, ensure that the SAP Business One EventSender Server has been started; then wait for several minutes and try again.
The service is running. B1 version is B1 8.81. The message is in the widget window not in a message box.

Just to pass along some useful information, I opened a case with SAP on this issue and they promptly returned a solution that worked for me:
1. Open B1i Framework UI (Start > Programs > Integration solution for SAP Business One) and log in
2. Press SLD in upper menu. Check that your companies are listed under B1i Server node.
3. Click on company you want to use, press Test connection buttons (there should be no error)
4. Now deactivate cockpit in your company in B1 - Disable My Cockpit and also disable cockpit in General Settings
5. Run EventSender Setup (in first step try to avoid using localhost or IP addresses), in third step press Test Connection, in fourth step make sure that your DB is marked as checked, press also Recei ver button and then Test Connecion. Finish EventSender setup
6. Go back to B1i Framework UI, click Scenarios in upper menu, then select Control in left menu and (re)activate Xcelsius scenario.
7. Restart EventSender service in Servies (Computer Management)
8. Now you can enable cockpit in your company in B1 - enable cockpit in General Settings and then enable My Cockpit
Please also check B1i user licence (it should have B1iINDIRECT_MSS and B1i licences assigned).
If there are more companies on your demo server, please wait little bit longer after steps 6 and 7.

I want to Email the Xcelsius dashboard. Whenever the backend data changes ,notification have to send through mail like scheduling the report.
Is it possible to schedule the Xcelsius dashboard?

Unfortunately that is not possible.
Below is what we did for the similar requirement...
--> Developed dashboards in Xcelsius.
--> Published dashboard on the portal.
--> When ever data is loaded in SAP BI, using "Information Broadcasting" an email is triggered to the end users, like "Data is now available for 06/2009"
--> Users access dashboards logging into portal.

Error while getting SSM75 data to Xcelsius (WSDL)

Hello Everyone,
Recently weu2019ve been assigned to an Xcelsius 2008 SP3 dashboard implementation over Strategy Management data.
We are trying to reach SSM´S data through the strategy management SMData Service and the CubeService web services so Xcelsius can later consume the corresponding WSDL files.
We are also trying to establish a connection between Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 Designer and Strategy Management with the Strategy Management ODBO Provider.
The documentation we are following is the u201CConfiguration Help SAP BusinessObjects Strategy Management 7.5u201D, following each procedure step by step but we are not getting the expected results pointed out on the documentation:
Process for Xcelsius
1. Add users of the SMDataService Web Service to SAP NetWeaver UME.
2. Add users of the CubeService Web Service to SAP NetWeaver UME.
3. Set Basic Authentication for the SMDataService Web Service.
4. Set Basic Authentication for the CubeService Web Service.
5. Export the WSDL files from SAP NetWeaver CE.
6. Prepare the WSDL files for importing into Xcelsius.
7. Import the strategy management WSDLs into Xcelsius.
8. Map input and output values to the Xcelsius Excel spreadsheet.
9. Configure Xcelsius Components to use data from the Excel Spreadsheet.
1. Start Web Services Administration in SAP NetWeaver using the following URL:http://nwa/WSAdmin
2. In the Search By drop-down list, select Service Definition Name and click Go.
3. From the list of services, select jee-default_SMDataService.
4. Click the WSDLs tab.
5. Click the WSDL links for SMDataService. A window appears with SMDataServiceWSDL data.
6. Click File Save As and save the opened WSDL file using the .wsdl extension to a directory accessible by Xcelsius.
7. From the list of services, select jee-default_CubeService.
8. Click the WSDLs tab.
9. Click the WSDL links for CubeService.A window appears with CubeService WSDL data.
10. Click File Save As and save the opened WSDL file using the .wsdl extension to a directory accessible by Xcelsius.
After this step while attempting to import the wsdl URL we get the u201CUnable to load the URLu201D pop up error. We were wondering if we have to pass certain parameters as login credentials or query type functions from Xcelsius to SSM. Also we are not sure if we have security issues.
Procedure for Universe Designer connection
1. Start BusinessObjects Enterprise, open Designer, and log in as the administrator.
2. Click the Create Universe button on the toolbar to launch the wizard for creating a universe. If this is your first time running Designer, the wizard appears automatically.
3. In the Welcome Screen, click Begin.
4. In the Enter the universe name box, specify the name for the universe.
5. Click New to create a new database connection to the strategy management Provider.
6. In the first Define a new connection window, click Next.
7. In the Define a new connection window for database middleware selection, do the following:
1. In the hierarchical list, select Strategy Management. Strategy Management appears because you defined this value in the oledb_olap.sdo file.
2. In the Connection Type drop-down list, specify whether to make this a secured connection.
3. In the Connection Name box, specify a connection a name.
4. Then click Next.
8. In the Define a new connection window for login parameters, do the following:
1. In the Authentication Mode drop-down list, select the method of
authentication such as single sign or user specified username and password.
2. Specify the username, password, and server for the connection, and then
click Next.
We cannot pass from this step, Designer fails to connect and displays message stating Designer has an error to connect to database.

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with xcelsius and using the keyboard. I have now tried the Enterprise Edition Xcelsius 2008 SP4 on 3 x Windows 7 machines (and the Xcelsius SP3 with hot fix 3.3 on 2 windows 7 machines) and if I open a new project drag a pie chart onto the canvas (or anything) and try to replace the heading pie chart with "MyChart" as soon as I hit the M the software locks up and I get the following message.

The strange thing is that if I write MyChart in a cell in the excel sheet and copy and paste it over Pie Chart it works fine as soon as I hit a key (even the backspace) I lock up the program. We tried on a clean image Windows 7 machine that IT hadnu2019t given out yet and same thing happened then we loaded it on an old XP machine and it worked!
I Tried changing the compatibility to Run on XP SP3 but that didnu2019t help and turning on run as Administrator made no differance
. Any ideas?
This is the same for changing the timing for the xml maps thatu2019s where I first noticed the keyboard locking up the software, you can change the time with the 2 arrows via the mouse but if you highlight 5 and then hit the 6 key its the same error as above
Extra weird just opened it up and went to the help thought Iu2019d type in u201Ckeyboard locks upu201D and guess what as soon as I hit the K, same error
All our images have Office 2007, Dasault Draft site and a few other bits of software I was running 4.5 Xcelsius and that was OK
Any ideas would be most helpful.

Thanks for replying this is really bugging me. Sorry I've been a while replying I've been overseas on a course last week and didn't have work email access.
Firstly the machines that I have tried it on are HP desktops about 1-2 years old with USB keyboards
I tried the on screen keyboard and it locked up as soon as I clicked on a character whilst trying to rename a pie chart, this was the same for a remote net support session, and a remote RDP login to my machine by our IT department.
Our IT guy said the keyboard drivers were current but I may just try and do an upgrade and reply a bit later on that as well.
Does not happen on any other software on this machine.
I'm checking for Flash upgrades but we currently have 11.1.102.55 and the newest is 11.1.102.62 so will load that and reply later also.
Do you think it possible to download a corrupted version of Xcelsius the stupid thing about that idea is that I downloaded SP4 but if I load SP3 hotfix 3.3 that also locks up and I have that on an official DVD from Rockwell Automation as Xcelsius comes with their Factory Talk Vantage Point software as a dashboard builder.

Xcelsius is unable to load this file problem because the file is corrupt

Hi me name is Luis Diego and im working in a dashboard.
The first time i update the file was ok. After that the file start to send me the next message:
"Crystal Xcelsius is unable to load this file. The file may be corrupt or have features cannot be supported by this version of Crystal Xcelsius."
I try to open the file in other computers and in that computers the file was open it. All the computers have the professional version 4.5 so do i.
I reinstall the Crystal Xcelsius in my computer because i thought that the problem was a wrong install in the first time. But after i reinstall the software the problem doesnt go away.
So i need the help of someone to fix this.

OBIEE 11g: Dashboard not invoking simple javascript alert

Hi Experts,
I'm trying to invoke one simple ALERT command with javascript in obiee 11g dashboard. The purpose is when it loads, it should print one ALERT message and also when we change something in the prompt and clicking Apply button.
Here is code written in a text item (Checked html markup option) after prompts;

The Javascript alert message is showing when the dashboard page loads, but its not coming when we click the Apply button after changing the prompts.
Can anyone give helpful hint, how to check it and why its not showing up when we press Apply button?

You just used code and I would say the default event is onload of the page, thats the reason you are able to see alert.
Since you didnt ask or written code onClick event to show alert, its not showing.
You need to tell to browser when to prompt alert message instead of onload.
Hope you are more confuse about 'how to do'

give some more info about your actual req. that helps any other gurus to help.

Xcelsius crashes while exporting to flash

Hi,
I am having one large Xcelsius report which I have created from XML datasource. When I try to export the report after connecting directly from XML datasource to flas, the Xcelsius crashes or hangs in between.
When I connect the same model from Excel I am able to export the report successfully.
Would be great if you can let me know a resolution.
I am currently in Xcelsius2008SP1FP1
Latest Flash player.

Dashboards html5 mobile not displaying correctly in IE10

Hi,
We've recently put together a fairly large tabbed dashboard using Dashboards 4.1 SP4. We currently don't have a SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform to publish the dashboard to so we have been publishing it through the export to PDF or html with embedded flash. The problem is that as the dashboard is quite large it is taking around 30secs to load the embedded flash and then longer as you navigate between the tabs.
I saw this great post Making A Mobile HTML5 Dashboard: Follow-Up Q&A and have managed to get the html5 to run fine on a webserver we have available. The HTML5 dashboard looks and runs as expected on Firefox (v32) and Chrome (v36) but it fails to display in IE10. It displays the tabs and some text labels but doesn't display any of the chart components.
Can anyone help with why the html5 version is not displaying in IE10? Or can anyone suggest a way of speeding up the loading times for the flash version?

The issue is, if you save an Xcelsius (SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards 4.1 Support Pack 4 Version 14.1.4.1327) as a HTML5 dashboard, it is viewable on a desktop PC using Chrome, Firefox etc. It is also viewable on Internet Explorer (version 10 & 11) on Windows 8, but only Internet Explorer 7, 8 & 9 on Windows 7.
The reason the dashboard doesn't display with the combination of Windows 7 with IE10 or IE11 is due to a bug in one of the SAP javascript libraries. The MSGesture object is not supported on Windows 7, but the code to detect that combination fails to detect the Windows 7 issue.
The sap.riv.modules.js file needs to be changed, as the test for window.navigator.msPointerEnabled is not enough.The code needs to be changed from:

to
if (window && window.navigator && window.navigator.msPointerEnabled && typeof(MSGesture) !== "undefined") {
It's a simple fix that other javascript libraries have had to make.
I've tried to raise this as an issue, but I'm told that HTML5 dashboards are not supported on the desktop, so it won't be fixed.
I'm now trying to escalate the issue.

Dashboard: 3rd party widgets won't load

odd problem I can't figure out. for some reason, Dashboard stopped loading third party widgets. they will appear in the widget bar and in the widget manager, but double-clicking on them simply closes the dashboard view without loading the widget. details:
*only affects one user account
*normal Apple widgets load correctly
*no error messages generated in console
*deleting dashboard and dashboardclient plists has no effect
*downloading fresh copies of the widgets has no effect
*seemed to begin around the 10.5.8 update (though I had some other issues at that time, relating to the fact that I needed to reset the PMU)
does anyone have any ideas, because I can't seem to get a purchase on this issue.

I've fixed the problem for myself.
I've found the problem was around Parental Controls and Dashboard preventing third party widgets settings.
Although Parental Controls was turned off on my account, it appears Dashboard was still picking up the parental controls setting for Widgets.
I tried to force the removal of the settings which are held in
/Library/Application Support/Apple/ParentalControls/Users
The Users folder is accessible only to 'root' so I've su'd as root and removed all the settings found for my account. Logging out and in again though did not fix it.
I then went back into System Preferences->Parental Controls and used the menu option at the bottom of the users list and selected 'Turn Off Parental Controls for <user name>'. This seems to have forced the settings and now I can add third party widgets again.
