Load a Movie into a Loaded Movie?

Okay, so I've got movie1. I loaded movie2 into movie1 using
loadMovie. That works fine.
I loaded movie3 into movie2, also using loadMovie. That works
fine when I preview movie2, but when I preview movie1, movie3
doesn't load.
How can I load a movie into a loaded movie? I don't want to
replace the movie, I want to load into it.
They're all in the same folder.
I'm using a movie clip placement marker instead of levels.
Help!!!

I want to create an iMovie using pictures and videos of my own but I would also like to add some clips from a real movie. I have the movie on DVD and VHS. Is it possible to put clips of this real movie into my home movie?

You can use any compatible movie file in iMovie. Here is a list of suggested file types for use with iMovie: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3356
If the footage you want to use is only available on DVD and VHS (as opposed to a video camera) you have a few options.
Assuming these are your own homemade DVD, you could rip the DVDs (Do a google search for "DVD rip Mac" or buy a product like http://store.apple.com/us/product/TX414LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY) into a movie file and then import that file to iMovie.
You could have a company convert your VHS tapes into movie files for you (there are many companies out there that do media conversion) or buy a convertor like http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS561LL/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY and do it yourself.

How to edit a large movie into smaller, separate movies?

.: Hello. This question is so basic I'm embarrassed to ask it, but I am stuck. I am a new user to iMovie 6, and bought and am reading David Pogue's iMovie 6 & iDVD The Missing Manual, but can't seem to find an answer to what must be the most basic editing task. I have a couple of 40-50 minute movie clips made with a Flip Ultra. I imported one into iMovie 6, and it took about 25 minutes to do so, and appears as a DV-NTSC clip. The movie is 42:21:10, and is of a concert. I want to extract the video of the performance of each individual song, and create a series of smaller movies, each one featuring one song.
I cannot for the life of me determine how to do this. I'm deep inside Chapter 5 of David's book, where he discusses trimming, cropping, splitting, etc., but I can't figure out how to save a cropped clip so that it can be made into a new movie. I am near tears at this point. This MUST be the easiest, simplest thing to do in iMovie, and I can't get past the starting gate.
If anyone can help me with some pointers and advice, I'll be very grateful.

Why does my mac turn my downloaded movies into .m4v and move it to the desktop?

For about 4 or 5 months now I have had this problem. When I doenload a picture to my macs download file the computer converts the file to .m4v and moves it to the desktop, deleting the original download. Why? I dont know what I may have downloaded, it's been a while since this started.Thanks.

Why? Because you told it to.
Remove whatever folder action you installed on your Downloads folder. Right-click the folder, Services >> Folder Actions Setup.
If there's no folder action, then some piece of software you installed and have running is camping on your Downloads folder and doing the conversion.
Don't bother claiming you didn't... computer software isn't magic. The machine didn't just decide to do this one day.

Hi,
You need to delete the old CAP file before loading it again. The problem is that when you call INSTALL FOR LOAD it sees there is already a CAP file with that AID present.
You can try sending a GET STATUS command listing load files to see what is on the card already. You need to delete what is present to be able to load/install again.

okay, my mom has an old imac g4. round base, chrome stand and pivot swival screen. anyway, it was pretty out of date as far as software is concerned. i've since got it updated with tiger and the latest version of itunes. however, when i try to drag and drop movies into the itunes movies section, it doesn't allow it. on my intel imac, it lets me drag them in and drop. on this old imac, it won't let me. what do i need to do to get this working? i would greatly appreciate any help. i can't get the photos to sync either because her iphoto is out of date. the movies i have tried are mp4 and m4v movies that are successfully in itunes on my intel imac. thanks for any help!

I loaded more songs into Itunes. How can I move them to my IPhone?

I loaded some CDs into Itunes and they show up in the Music folder okay. When I connect my Iphone to Itunes, I see a music folder under the IPhone icon in the left column but clicking on that shows the list of songs already on my IPhone. How do I move the new songs loaded onto the IPhone without erasing the songs already on the IPhone. I need to do a "merge" somehow. Advice please...

You need to select the iPhone 'device' (not the Music section underneath it which just shows what is already on the device) and then select the Music tab that will appear on the right-hand side of iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351
You can also just highlight the new songs in your iTunes music library, and drag-and-drop them over to the iPhone device.

aha, ok now i have a problem in duplicating nested movie
clips. like if i have made a movieclip using the code (lets name it
OUTSIDE) and another one inside(lets name it INSIDE) it, when i
duplicate the movieclip OUTSIDE the INSIDE one doesnt exist in the
new copy. i think the reason is something related to the depth but
i'm not sure where is the problem. here is an example:

3GB for a movie? That's almost equivalent to an original DVD.
Have you checked in the Recently Added playlist?
I think this is possibly linear. Select 'normal' in HB, iTunes accepts it; select 'high quality' in HB iTunes doesn't. I can't say why; I don't have any video that anywhere approaches 3GB in size. If that's how iTunes behaves I don't see you have too many options. You either select normal and it works, or you select HQ and live with playing the movie outside of iTunes.
I won't ask what movie because any help with illegally ripped copy protected DVDs is strictly prohibited by the Terms of Use so I'm assuming this is a 6 hour video of your puppy playing on the floor.

How do I load movies into my ipad from itunes?

I'm trying to load movies onto my ipad from itunes, I've already synced my ipad with all the current songs and the movies, but I go to videos on my ipad and do not see it. So I go to itunes, hit movies and still see nothing but movies for purchase only. I'm going on a trip on Wednesday and would love to sync all my mp4 movies into my ipad but can't find them on my ipad, can anyone give me some advice? Problem going to fullscreen after loading AS2 movie into AS3

I've got a loader movie that is written in AS3, and
fullscreen is enabled. I have a context-menu fullscreen trigger and
a keypress fullscreen trigger built into the loader movie. When I
load an AS3 movie or an AS1 movie through the loader movie, I can
go to fullscreen without problems. When I load the AS2 movie, I
cannot.
Does anyone have an idea why this might be? I'm struggling.

even when using a second loader (with a different name) the second
file loaded will not work.
I'm removing any EventListener from the first loader,
unloading and then nulling it.
But to me it seems, that the first content is not garbage
collected and because of that, even when loaded with an other
loader the first loaded swf-file interferes with the second.
I came to this conclusion, because the first loaded swf-file
is still working after trying to load the second file. And just
more weird: the first loaded file is in the same state and also
after closing the Flash-Player.
You can see it for yourself: download the testcase. Start the
testcase.swf. Load a contentfile. Skip a few pages. Quit the Flash
Player. Start the testcase.swf again and load the same contentfile.
You will see it's at the same position like before quiting the
Player.
And I can't help, but that seems like a bug to me...

Load random swf into movie

I need to load a randomly selected .swf into my main movie.
Have found the code below which does all the loading fine...
... however, I need to keep elements from the original, so is
there a way to load the new movie INTO the main one?
I think I might need to load into an empty instance? If so,
what does my code need to look like?

You should use the MovieClipLoader class.

Now you can just call loadFile with a url and it will be
loaded into the
clip 'content', which can be an empty clip on stage. You
don't have to do
anything in the listener, but you can set width, height,
alpha etc. in
onLoadInit.

Need Your Help with Loading SWF into another Flash Movie!

I have created TWO Flash movies. They work just fine
individually, but I get problem when I put one into another one!
The main Flash is a Menu and the second one if a Photo Album.
The Menu is series of animation (Moving Objects) which finally
comes into rest and create the menu. The photo album is another SWF
file which is called with in the first Flash Movie (The Menu). The
SWF file is loaded as follow into the Main Flash.

Problem arises when I click on the Play Button of the
photoAlbum.swf (Photo Album) since the execution of the play button
causes the Flash starts once again from the beginning of the entire
Flash Movie (Beginning of the animation creating the menu) and it
simply jumps into the Firm One of my Flash Movie.
Could you tell me how I can isulate what is in layer 6 (Where
the photoAlbum is loaded to) from the rest of my Flash Movie?
I hope I managed to explain my problem. I would like to take

Hello Anya,
I have realized the problem arises from the Wait Function
which causes the Photo Album to pause for a period of time (Two
Seconds) once a Photo is fully displayed (I have Fade in/out Photo
Album). I realized everything works OK once I remove the function
and rather left the Photos to be flipped without any pausing (This
is an Auto-loading Album which simply Flips the photos!).
Here is the Wait Function which is causing all the trouble.
