Load balancing when creating Broadcast setting

Hi guys,
how can i use the load balancing possibility when creating a broadcast setting of a workbook?
i have 2 precalculation server determined in RSprecadmin. When the first precalculation server has status maximum capacity reached the next free available precalculation server is used. But in my case the first 10 workbooks are precalculated with one server then the other free and available server is not used anymore.
How can i have  more than 10 workbooks in the queue?

  • EIGRP load balancing when using HSRP on LAN

    Hi 
    I have a question about my topology. I have two routers  with EIGRP on both of them connected through 2 ISPs to other site. On those routers i have HSRP runing. Now my question is: HSRP is standby/active protocol so when one router act as active will it send data to other site only through one ISP??? will load balancing work on WAN side? will routers use both ISPs or just one- the one which is active in HSRP when sending data???

    Hi sotiris_pafitis, may be I didn't understand what you mean but if the idea is to configure one static on each router  (pointing it's ISP) and redistribute it in EGRIP, I disagree: is useless because the other router will prefer the static route due to its better administrative distance. Using EIGRP unequal load balancing is useless because  it balanced EIGRP path with different metric, not different Administrative distance. Isn't it ?
    If you want to use static route simply configure two static route on each router: one though WAN interface and the other through the LAN.
    For example:
    R1#conf t
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.13.3
    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.12.2
    The result is:

    In any case I think static router is not a good choice: in case of a fault on ISP 1, WAN interface can remain up producing a routing blackhole. If possible it's better to have a dynamic routing protocol between router and ISP, receving the default route and changing delay on interf to have the same metric for both  the path

    What project settings do I use to create broadcast quality television in a widescreen format. Note I use a mac book and also I'm in NZ so we use PAL. I'm only using animation and still pictures so haven't got any video to import.
    I work for a charity museum and my boss has asked me (last minute) to make the ad as we have no money for a professional studio. I'm used to making videos for exhibits only.

  • IPTV load balancing across broadcast servers.

    I know that across Archive servers in the same cluster that IPTV control server will load balance , is there is a similar function with Broadcast servers. I know broadcast servers use a different delivery mechanism (Multicast). We have multiple broadcast servers that take in an identical live stream, but the only way to advertise thru a URL is a seperate URL per server. Is there some way to hide the multiple URL's to the client population?

    No. There is no way to load balance across multiple broadcast servers for live streams. Since this is going to be multicast, there should not be any additional load on the servers when the number of users are more.

  • Load balancing MQ 7.0 Foreign JMS Server and Weblogic 10 MDBs?

    We have the following configuration and we are trying to troubleshoot what appears to be a load balancing issue.
    We have 3 Solaris servers. Each Solaris server has two Weblogic managed servers running on it. There are a total of 6 managed servers in the Weblogic cluster.
    MQ Series 7.0 is also installed on each Solaris server. The MQ queue managers are in a MQ cluster. Each queue manager has the same queues defined.
    We have a foreign JMS Server configured on Weblogic that has destinations and a connection factory defined. There aren't many configuration options available for the connection factory. The destinations are bound to the queues defined on MQ using the MQ bindings file.
    The MQ bindings file was generated using the TRANSPORT(BIND) mechanism. Each bindings file points to the queue manager running on that machine. So the 2 managed servers running on one machine are accepting messages from the queue manager on that machine.
    The MDB's listenning for messages on the MQ queues are configured as follows in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:
         <max-beans-in-free-pool>16</max-beans-in-free-pool>
    We also created a custom work manager with min threads constraint=5 and max threads constraint=16. The dispatch-policy of all the MDBs is set to the custom work manager.
    The open input count on each MQ queue managers shows up as 32 which is expected.
    The default load algorithm on the cluster is round-robin.
    When we run a load test (injecting 40 messages per second on one MQ queue), we notice that one managed server ends up being significantly loaded than the other. Each MQ queue manager in the MQ cluster receives approximately the same number of messages in the load test. But it seems like one managed server is preferred over the other in Weblogic.
    What can be done to equally balance the load among the two managed servers on each Solaris server?

    Load balancing generally applies at determing how many consumer threads has to be created on each of the clustered queue instance. In that sense you have achieved perfect load balancing as your queue instances has the same no of consumer threads.
    Once you have set 'x' consumer threads on a queue, it is upto messaging provider to decide which thread to deliver a particular message and you will hardly have any control over this. Since your 32 threads are listening on the same queue, MQ can select any thread for delivering the message and the behaviour could be non deterministic.
    One option to change your design is to have a dispacther mdb which picks the messages off the MQ and then routes to a weblogic distributed destination and you can have your core mdb which does all processing listen to this distributed destination. You can enable load balancing when the disaptcher mdb routes the message to the distributed destination. Since dispatcher MDB is nothing more than a router, the unbalanced consumption off the MQ shouldn't seriously affect the server.

  • Load balance DSP with DSPControl

    We need balancing and failover in our calls to the DSP from WLI. The networking guys setup an F5 hardware load balancer to do this, but t3 connections are not working.
    Questions:
    1. Is there a known configuration of F5 that will work with t3 protocol?
    2. Can the DSP control work over another protocol, such as http, without loss of functionality? If so, how do I set that up?
    3. Is there a recommended approach to what we are trying to do?

    Jeff - you have a case open and both you and the customer support guy are chasing this down as and ALDSP and WLI issue. It's not. The problem you have occurs in creating an InitialContext when giving the URL of the load-balancer. Look in the stack trace - there is no ALDSP - just your code and WLS. You will get better results if you investigate it as such. For instance - if you post your question on WLS/EJB/RMI forum - the right people will see it. ( deleted remark about creating a CR)
    Also - from the case description - it's not clear why you have the load-balancer there. It sounds like the ejb is hosted on the same machine as the client (it mentions that it works fine if you use localhost instead of the load-balancer ... maybe that was just something you tried). Also the WLS EJB stubs do load-balancing (and fail-over, too) so again I'm not sure of the purpose of the hardware load-balancer (if you give a good reason and it all makes sense, it's easier to diagnose).
    Also posted on the case is a forums.bea.com posting that says you need to set the ejb server's "external server address" - the ejb stubs report the address that the clients should use for calling them - normally it is their own address - but if you have a load-balancer in between - they should be using the address of the load-balancer.
    Also posted on the case is a reference to a CR about problems using a load-balancer when the servers have different port numbers. I didn't read the details on that.

  • Load balancing for specific services in RAC

          I have a two node RAC database 11gR2 version.I am planning to create 2 services for the database.For one of the services I dont want to enable server side load balancing and for the other one I want to enable load balancing.Will the following setting work
    services:
    srv1  --  load balancing not to be enabled
    srv2 --  load balancing to be enabled
    DB configuration:
    For srv1 I will not use SCAN ip and I will connect using the vip of the servers.
    For srv2 I will use SCAN ip and i will set the remote_listener(to SCAN:port) parameter and local listener parameter accordingly.
    Will this serve my purpose

    If the database is admin-managed, I shall suggest that rather than playing with the remote_listener parameter , set one service as preferred for one instance.For the other service, let it be preferred on both the nodes. The service with just one instance as Preferred won't be able to use loab-balancing as there is just one instance available for its disposal.

  • Bug with Network Load Balancing Services and SkipAsSource always reverting to true

    Steps to reproduce:
    Add an IP address to the cluster (2 nodes running Windows Server 2012) using the Network Load Balancing Manager
    Using PowerShell set the SkipAsSource flag on the IP Address to true (Set-NetIpAddress -IpAddress 192.168.1.10 -SkipAsSource $true). The flag is correctly set.
    Try to reverse the setting (Set-NetIpAddress -IpAddress 192.168.1.10 -SkipAsSource $false). Flag stays as true.
    It appears as though Network Load Balancing Services is remembering the setting from someone.
    Things I've tried all without success (in no particular order):
    Removing the IP address from the cluster and adding it back in
    Using PowerShell to remove the IP address and add it back in manually (on each host).Flag stays set as true on the 1st node but takes a second before it reverts back to true on the 2nd node.
    Using netsh to remove the IP address and add it back in manually (on each host). Flag stays set as true on the 1st node but takes a second before it reverts back to true on the 2nd node.
    Deleting each host from the cluster (one at a time), removing the registry keys CurrentControlSet\Services\WLBS and
    Removing both hosts from the cluster
    Restarting the hosts
    Using processmon (sysinternals) to try and find a registry entry that might be set when SkipAsSource is set
    Does anyone know:
    How to resolve this issue? I'm guessing resetting the TCP/IP stack would work but that's a last resort as it requires an on sight visit to the datacentre.
    Where the SkipAsSource flag it stored?
    How to reset the master/global cluster config?

    I am currently in the process of setting up a web dispatcher for the Backend systems via the Portal.
    I have already installed a web dispatcher to handle the Portal load balancing and this works perfect.
    The SAP system landscape will be created using load balancing, currently it is set to Dedicated.
    Question:
    Do i change the ITS and WAS settings to point to the web dispatcher or leave them currently pointing to the backend systems?
    ITS = hostname :8000
    WAS = hostname : 8000

  • Load balancing with only one Real Server on CSM

    Other than create a VSERVER with only one real server in it - is there a way of load balancing when you have only one real server now and may be additional servers to be added later?

    the only way is to use the vserver.

  • Broadcast Setting - Bursting : Could not determine recipient

    Hello,
    I created broadcast setting for template using option bursting.
    Template is broadcasted by district (attribute of 0plant).
    Here is the option for broadcasting.
    Chracteristic for receipient determination : Generate Document with Variable Value      
                Variable : District
    Selection of the Characteristic Values : By Following Selection      
    It had worked sucessfully for several months, by now from time to time ,
    I would say 60% of broadcastings ended with error: Bursting: Could not determine recipient
    When I run broadcast setting the second time , it's always ended sucessfully, and send templates to districts.
    Could you please advise how to fix this.
    I can not imagine what could cause this strange behavior,
    so I'll be very appreciated for any help.

    can you install  http watch on you internet explorer and run it and it will show you where its holdin gup.. or i am not sure if you can broadcasting from back end system..

  • T3 Load Balancing with Weblogic Server 6.1

    We are using rwo weblogic 6.1 servers A and B behind a load balancer with a DNS name (eg. www.loadbalancer.com). We are using T3 for Java client to application server communication. The client creates the Initial context with the load balancer url,creates remote objects using the context, closes the initial context and then tries to get a new initial Context. What we noticed is even though the client closes the first context and gets a new one, the client is always hooked on to only one server making load balancing ineffective. Is there a T3 configuration to release the connection when we close the context ? The documentation says only one T3 is established per client JVM.
