Thank you for your Reply. I found out the problem was with the USB cable supplied. I swopped it for a different one and the Colorfly C3 icon appeared on the desktop.

IPhone 4S - No "Load Earlier Messages" Button

My Problem:
I purchased an iPhone 4S about a week ago. Since then, I have been texting various people, with the assumption that all of our conversations would be saved. Much to my surprise, this morning while checking previous conversations, I noticed the Load Earlier Messages button was missing on a lot of conversations. It was as if what we have previously talked about never existed.
I know there was more than 50 messages in the conversation, but they seem to have been deleted automatically. The Messaging App was only displaying about 10 previous messages, with no option to load earlier ones.
I know the messaging database has been reduced to 15MB, but there is absolutely no way I have sent 75,000 text messages in the past 7 days.
I only have the option to Load Earlier Messages on 2-3 contacts. The rest of them have their conversations automatically deleted.
My Questions:
Is there an option on the iPhone 4S to store ALL messages?
Would an application like PhoneView be able to recover all of the deleted text messages?
Is there any way I could get the Load Earlier Messages button to appear on ALL conversations?
Any help is greatly appreciated, just please don't repeat any information I have already addressed in my discussion.

Hello, I believe I figured outthe issue with the LOAD EARLIER MESSAGE BUTTON. Bare with me please. This is going to be kind of lengthy but I will try to explain the problem the best I can.
First, I think the PROBLEM is because iMessage is turned ON for your device. When iMessage isactivated it only allows you to view and scroll 50 messages on the screen. Youcan count the messages to make sure. Once iMessage is turned on, it will notallow the user to view or scroll more than 50 messages; however, your messagesfrom months ago are still there unless you deleted them. They appear to behidden.
This is a test which allows youto see an older message to make sure that they are still there. First theconversation between you and your friend must have more than 50 messages in the log.
Now go to the top of themessage screen. You should see the buttons (Call, Facetime, and Contact) Youwill notice that LOAD EARLIER MESSAGE BUTTON is missing.
NOTE: Remember your First message.
If you delete a recent message,one of your older messages will appear at the top of the screen.
You will notice that the first messagethat you had before has now become your second. Basically, the messages shifteddown.
In contrast if you receive anew message the your oldest message on top will shift up making you think youlost your message on top; however, they are still there. Do not worry. They arehidden, but they are still there. This was the test.
NOW the important part. How tofix the problem? Some people like reading messages from months back. To read all your old messages you must have the LOAD EARLIER MESSAGE BUTTON. In order to make this appear, make sure your iMessage is turned OFF. By turning OFF iMessage, you will not receive any iMessagesanymore. Your messages sent will not be BLUE but GREEN SMS messages.
This may be bad for those of youor your friends who do not have an unlimited text messaging plan
Since the recipient turned off their iMessage every message sent and received will be a SMS text message. Tell your friends that you turned OFF iMessaging, otherwise when they text you, they may be charged for sending you text messages if they go over their plan notknowing that it is not Free. MOST people have unlimited text messaging plansanyways so it does not really matter much.
NOTE: iMessaging is only FREE ifboth you and your friend have an iphone 4/4S with ios5 with iMessaging turned ON.
Just a reminder.
They may think that sending atext to you is free because both of you have an iPhone 4/4S while it is not.
If your friend sends you a textmessage when you have your iMessage turned OFF, the message sent will from yourfriend will be a SMS message. This cost money depending on your friends plan.
NOTE: If someone sends an iMessage,there should be an iMessage notification on top of the conversation.
Now to make the Load Earlier Messagebutton appear, with iMessage turned OFF, you must send out a message to yourfriend for example: How are you? This message will be sent as a SMS textmessage. Also remember, the conversation with this friend must have more than 50 messages otherwise you would not have any earlier messages to be shown.
Sorry, I apologize but I do notremember if you have to receive a message from your friend as well to make theLoad Earlier Message appear.
Either way with iMessage turnedOFF, once you send and receive a text from your friend, Load Earlier Messageappears.
There is probably a bug in thesystem. Since I have unlimited text messaging, I do not even bother withturning iMessage on anymore. I think, but I am not certain for those that just use SMS text messaging and have never ever used iMessage they will not have this problem. However, if you went from iMessage to SMS in a conversation whichI did for some individuals you might see some messages that are blue and green.This means that some were iMessages and others were SMS. To read your oldmessages you must unlock the LOAD EARLIER MESSAGE BUTTON.
I followed the steps that Imentioned earlier and my LOAD EARLIER MESSAGE BUTTON appeared for ONE of my friend's conversations. Now I have to fix it for the other ones. I think once the LOAD EARLIER MESSAGE BUTTON appears you can turn iMessage back ON and your LOAD EARLIER MESSAGE BUTTON should still be present. I am not a 100% sure though.

On my iPhone 5 i OS 6.1.2, I have over 1000 texts in a conversation with someone in Messages. I want to look at some old texts I've sent to and review from this person; please someone tell me how I load old messages more quickly than using the 'Load Earlier Messages' button!? It's incredibly slow and then it freezes, so I can never get to the beginning of the message that I want to read.
Any help would be appreciated!

My load earlier messages button for some contacts has dissappeared, but for others its still there. I know the messages havent been deleted because if i type it in to spotlight search they come up, but when clicked on cant be read. Have tried a back up and restore to no avail. Help!! thanks in advance.

You need to turn on Photo Stream in iPhoto on your laptop to view the last 30 days of photos.
The rest of your camera roll can't be viewed but can be restored when you get the device back.

No "Load Earlier Messages" when using iMessage

i send a lot of messages via normal sms and imessage
on Normal sms there is a load earlier messages button when you scroll up to let you see previous messages
on imessage there isnt that option, is there a way where i can see all previous imessages sent and received?

TS2755 Why cant i load earlier messages when im looking at text messages with a certain contact?

whenever i try to load earlier messages with one of my contacts it only shows a couple more of the previews texts we sent using both imessage and normal texting. Then i tried deleting a couple of our texts and tapped on load earlier messages it would show a few more. But it only does this with one contact and theres plenty of space left too so thats not the problem, how do i fix this??

I disagree, the old way was worse. If you were searching for a particular text or photo and didn't know exactly when it was sent, each time more messages loaded below the button you would have to scroll down through that new batch to see if the text was there. And if it wasn't, you'd have to scroll all the way back up through the same messages to get to the button again. Plus, each time you loaded more messages and scrolled through them, you'd have to remember where the previous batch ended so you wouldn't keep searching through the same messages over and over.
The new way is much more logical. Load more equals "load more from this point". However, I agree that more control over how many messages are loaded, or ways to narrow your search, would be better.
Besides, there is a super simple solution to your complaint. Tap on the time at the top of the screen to automatically scroll back to the top of the list (and the buttons). If you're really in a hurry, use one finger to hit the button and another to hit the time.
There does seem to be an actual problem though. After I click the button a few times, it starts scrolling back to the very bottom of the list instead of staying at the same point. That's not the new way (stay at this message) or the old way (scroll to the top) and is obviously useless.

I can't find message saved in "Load Earlier Messages", "No Result"

I can't find messages saved in "Load Earlier Messages" in both "spotlight" and "search" bar in Messages. After input the keyword or the whole content of the message which saved in "Load Earlier Messages", the only result is "No Results". But the message is actually exist, if I push "Load Earlier Messages" button, it comes out. How can I solve it?

Start off by trying to reset the ipad. Press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time until the device powers down and you see the Apple logo.

Can't load any websites. I do not get any "error messages", the "enter" button has no effect in the address bar. Works fine in the FF search box and in IE.

Tried most of the recommended fixes under the "Error loading websites" article with the exception of "DNS refetching", as typing "about:config" in the location bar does no good as the "enter button" won't function. I've removed and re-added FF back into the windows firewall, removed ZoneAlarm from my system, edited proxy settings, deleted and reinstalled FF several times. NOTHING WORKS!!! You have a lot of information in packed in the "More system details..." (in the right-hand column), where it looks like you found a solution. If not take a look at "Problematic Extensions" the AVG Free installation of their "'''AVG Free Search'''" can cause such problems. Directions to fix that are specific and involve reinstalling AVG Free without the Link Scanner component.

When I click on the Home button, I get a message saying "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded????????"

When I first turn on Firefox, I only get a blank "new tab". It does not go to the Firefox Home Page. When I click on the Home button in the top right, I get the message "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded." How can I fix this so when I open Firefox it goes right to the Firefox Home Page (or a home page of my own choosing)??

How can I read non-deleted text messages from months ago without having to continuously press "Load Earlier Messages"?

I never deleted text messages from a specific person in case I ever wanted to go back and look at them. Now months have gone by and I don't feel like continuously pressing "Load Earlier Messages" for hours trying to get back and look at them. Is there anyway I can upload the whole conversation on to my computer and read the entire conversation from the beginning?
