"load path as a selection" deselects my path layer

When I "load path as a selection" the path layer deselects and I have to reselect the path layer to add, subtract or intersect.  What am I missing?

I have to reselect the path layer to add
Paths are not Layers.
Why Selections anyway, why not change the subPathItems’ individual settings?

  • Path Layer Deselecting after Making Selection

    Hello,
         As I use this tool for multiple fast renderings, I love to use the Path Selection tool to modify the selection as such in quick succession. However, it seems as though after my slection is made, usign the path, the path layer disappears, needing reselection in the Path Window to do so. Here's what happens:
    Step 1
    I my paths, in which I want to first select this box, and then combine them at differing feather overlays. So naturally, I select the center most item, and...
    Step 2
    Up comes the dialog box as normal. I set the feather, hit enter and...
    Step 3
    Where did my other paths go?!?!
    Step 3 (Previous to CC, at least in CS5)
    Here I had the option to grab another path with my tool, overlap a feather at a different amount. Why does this happen?
    Is there a way to revert the tool back to the CS5 way of Selecting? Please let me know, thanks.

    I believe your paths are still there, if i look at the path's palette.
    When you deselect the path in the path's palette, no path will be visible in the stage. Try adding fill color and see.
    Step 01 and 02, your path was still selected in the path's palette but in step 03 it wasn't. Once you made the selection click on the path in the path's palette and see if it is visible or not.
    Check my tutorial on 'How to hide the path when adding layer style'. If the path is not selected in the path's palette, then it looks like it is not there.

  • Load Path as Selection

    I completed my path and clicked Load Path as a Selection.  I have 2 cut out areas (holes) in the path, and the selection process did not include the holes, even though the path shows them.  I had the button pressed "exclude overlapping path areas" when I made the path.
    How do I get the path to select the outline, minus the "holes"?  Kind of like a coffee cup profile with the hole in the handle excluded to show just the outline of the cup.

    Here's the problem with working with paths in Photoshop: the stacking of the shapes inside the path is very important but you can't easily change that.
    The uppermost shape interacts with all the shapes beneath it acording to the settings in the Options bar, if you want to rearange them you will have to select the path you want to bring to the front, Cut it and then Paste it back in place. You won't notice any difference on screen but now the path you just pasted is at the top of the stack
    So if you first make a large circle and then you make a small circle in the middle of it, to cut out the small circle from the large one you have to select the small circle and from the options bar select Subtract from Shape area because the small circle is at the top. But if you first make the small circle and then the large one and want to achieve the same result then you have to select the large circle and select Exclude from Shape area. Or of course cut/paste the small circle so that it's at the top of the stack and then with it selected chose Subtract from Shape area

  • Load Path as Selection Problem

    I'm not sure why this is happening. When I draw a new path using the pen tool and then try to load it as a selection it sometimes adds shapes that I did not put there. The first image is my simple path. The second is what I get when I try to load it as a selection. The rectangle on the left was not in my original path. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I thought of that but I don't have any selections hidden. This happens right after opening PS with nothing else on any layers or anything. All I do is create a path with the pen tool and try to load it as a selection. Then this happens. I don't understand where the other shapes are coming from. The layer is empty.

  • Option to select/deselect "SYNC" function no longer exists on Windows 7

    iTunes, version 9 (64 bit) no longer has an option to select/deselect "SYNC." I can choose to manually sync & if I REINSTALL iTunes, it RESETS to AUTOMATICALLY SYNC, but the option to choose AUTO-SYNC mode still does not appear.
    In the past, this function was available. SYNC funtions fine, but this feature is no longer available.

    This is resolved. Probably obvious for most but coming from windows 7 I didn't know. For anyone who finds this on a search if you will go to windows update and on the left select recovery, then under advanced setup click on restart now. When this menu
    finally loads you will have the option to change this here. Somehow mine was set from a 30 second menu to 0. I didn't change it or if I did I don't remember it. Any, Cheers!

  • Image Library select/deselect ticks are not visible

    Hi,
    We are using Sharepoint 2013 (version

    "Uncaught ReferenceError: InitImglibView is not defined".
    I can't find the reason of this error. Can you help please?

    Thanks for the reply. Yes, i mean it. But i change the style as "Basic Table" from "Modify View" options. Screenshot is below
    When i change the style from "Default" to "Basic Table", ticks are getting lost.

  • ADF Table with CheckBox - Select/deselect issue

    I have seen couple of threads and blogs for ADF table with check box . but none of them exactly matching with my requirement . My Database table does not have any field for check box .
    Here is my DB Table
    tableA_
    A_Id
    A_Name
    tableB*
    B_Id
    Requirements :*
    1. Display the above tables data with Checkbox . ( if A_Id = B_Id then the checkbox will be checked , else unchecked ) .
    2. Select / deselect the check box and save the data . Saving the data , will update only tableB . i,e when a new check box is selected then A_Id value will be inserted to tableB . Similarly , deselecting a checked in data will remove the entry from tableB.
    Development :
    1. Created a VO where tableB has marked as updateable .
    2. Created a transient Boolean variable for checkBox . and modified the getter method of checkbox for returning true/false based on the below condition in the ViewRowImpl Class .
    if ( A_Id = B_Id )
    return true;
    else false ;
    3. I have not modified the setter method .
    Using the above concept i can view the data with selected checkbox . but the problem is to save the data . because , when I select a checkbox the above coding in the getter method will return false .
    Therefore , though i am selecting the checkbox but value of the checkbox has been set as false .
    While saving the Data , I am iterating through the VOIterator and observed that a newly selected checkbox value is false . and realized its because of the getter method condition .
    Can you please suggest how can I overcome this issue or shall I need to take any other approach ?

    You need to go through the ADF page life cycle concepts. In simple words the boolean value in the model is not set while in valueChangeListener. Try adding valueChangeEvent.getComponent().processUpdates(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance()); on top in your listener method and see the effect.

  • JTextArea artifacts when selecting/deselecting text

    I just bumped up against a font rendering issue with JTextArea. I have no doubt that it's a bug, but does anyone know of a workaround?
    Run the program below and select/deselect text by double-clicking words. The text is painted in a different location when selected and deselected. Try selecting by dragging the mouse or pressing shift and left/right arrow keys -- same problem, but the actual pixel location of the artifacts sometimes differs depending on the selection start and end, and the way the text was selected (keyboard/mouse drag/double click).
    Now try selecting the last word ("dog") by double clicking.import java.awt.Font;

    The fix using System.setProperty worked 100% for all font and attribute combinations I tried -- thanks again.
    2) Does it work to set the property after the GUI is already created and shown? (shall test that myself in a few hours, but would be nice to know earlier :)No. However, you may set this property as a component client property (on the JTextComponent), but before that component is made visible.This didn't work for me. edit Setting this property seems to remove the ability to render underlined and strikethrough attributes. Changed the code above to add these. When "i18n" is set, they are ignored.
    edit2 GlyphPainter2 also doesn't appear to support foreground/background colors and swap_colors. It's beginning to look like whoever wrote that class solved a single problem of cumulative integer math error but introduced several others. Or maybe just didn't reimplement the features that weren't inherited..

  • Load from Infoprovider with selection package error

    Hello,
    Requirement: Data transfer from one application to another application in BPC
    Version: BPC 7.5 NW SP08
    Source application: MGMT
    Target Application: LEGAL
    Transformation File: Yes
    Conversation File: Yes for Location Dimension
    Source records: 103 (The data is for only one Location)
    When I run Load from Infoprovider with selection Package (/CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI package) i am able to load 99 records loading and 4 records are getting error.
    Error Message: 121 ,41513000,,N,AVER,Y,2011,,1030,1030,,,0.0000000
    Line 121 :Dimension:LOCATION member: convert failed in line 121; rejected
    Analysis: Location conversion is already in place and other 99 records are able to success on the same conversion rule. I have checked transformation, Conversion files. When I validate the transformation file with data then also i am seeing same error.
    Note: I am using same package to load data from BW Cube to  MGMT application that time i am able to load without error, When I load the same data from MGMT to LEGAL then this error is coming.
    I appreciate any clue on this error.
    Thanks,
    Sri

    We are able to solve the problem,
    In the Account Dimension for one of the property we maintained some value with comma in it. That created a bad data and system throwing error.
    After changing Account dimension attribute then the package is working fine.
    Thanks for the support.

  • Radio button selection, deselecting others

    My experience with "radio" buttons in GUI libraries is that selecting one in a group deselects any other button in that group -- kinda like a car radio (hence "radio" button).  How do we do that in LabView?  I thought I had seen a property to do that (though I may have been using some other GUI at the time)
       ...Dan

    Hi Dan,
    If you are using LabVIEW 7.1 or later, you can use the Radio Buttons Control in the Boolean palette to accomplish exactly what you're looking for.  If you're using a previous version of LabVIEW, you will have to write the underlying code to do this selection/deselection yourself...I'm sure you can find an example of how to do this on these forums somewhere.

  • Files disappeared while selecting/deselecting them in Bridge CC.

    Hi all! I was selecting/deselecting a number of files on a SD card from my camera. It was attached via a card reader. All of a sudden a message appeared quickly so I could not read it fast enough and all the files are now gone! Any ideas? Seems Adobe has decided to stop helping people in person.

    Sounds like you lost connection.

  • Help implementing mouse multi record select deselect with shift/ctrl click

    Forms 10.1.2.3 on Solaris Sparc 64 bit
    We are trying to implement mouse multi record select/deselect using shift and ctrl click. I have read that you need the appcore library to do this but because we aren't using Oracle Applications (EBS) we can't have the appcore library.
    Has anyone implemented this function without the appcore library?
    Thanks

    Why not just use a CheckBox to indicate the selected records? The downfall to almost all methods is that you end up looping through the block to see which records are selected. An alternative to this is to use a record group to record which the selected records. I created a nice little wrapper package to work with Record Groups (RG). Take a look at Forms - Record Group Processing (Duplicate Value Checking). As the name suggests, this example demonstrates how to use an RG to perform duplicate checking, but you can easily adapt the process to keep track of selected records. I use RG's for this all the time. By using the RG, it eliminates the need to LOOP through the datablock - which can be very time consuming. Instead, you loop through the RG and only navigate to the specific records you need too in order to process that record. Looping through the RG is much faster than looping through the block - especially if you have a lot of records displayed in your block.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • Is it possible to Select/Deselect All checkboxes using single button

    Hi all,
      I want to Select/Deselect all check boxes in my table using single button. I tried using single button ,but it is not working correctly for all the cases.

    Hi karthik..
    You can do this ..
    1.Create boolean variable..
    2.Create Select all button..
    write this code in Select all action ..
    IPrivate<View>.I<Table>Node tNode=wdContext.node<Table>().;
    for(int i=0;i<tNodesize();i++)
    tNode.get><Table>ElementAt(i).setCheck(true);
    Like Deselect all..
    IPrivate<View>.I<Table>Node tNode=wdContext.node<Table>().;
    for(int i=0;i<tNodesize();i++)

    Are you saying that the tick-box shown in my screenshot, isn't there? (Yes, this is iTunes 11 - I've turned on the sidebar and the Menu bar. So you can see, this is a CD in my drive that we're looking at.)
    If it isn't, go to Edit/Preferences/General and turn on the tick-box box
    You can show the Menu Bar (with Edit on it) by using CTRL + B
