Load plan data online

hi..
we are on BW 3.1 and load the plan data using flat files ..users like to enter plan data on the portal and get reflected next day..can we do this without SEM..any ideas...

Sorry, I read as with SEM.
You can use XML datasources for loading data to the BW cubes from any web page portal in your case. The portal can push an XML file to the XML datasource via SOAP. The attached How to document explains the steps involved in this.

you don't HAVE to create a new cube, as Ravi says you could use the Actual cube, make it Real time and keep on switching the cube behavior between loading and planning.
However what I would do is create a real time cube as a copy of the actual one. Build a multiprovider with exactly the same structure and an aggregation level on top of the multiprovider. The old plan data can remain in the Actual cube and using the layouts and planning functions you can use it without a problems.
Then all the new planning data should be written to the new cube.
This way, once the old plan data becomes obsolete your data will be partitioned in two cubes, with the advantage of reporting using a multiprovider.

Can we use 0INFOPROV as a selection in Load from Data Stream

Hi,
We have implemented BW-SEM BPS and BCS (SEM-BW - 602 and BI 7 ) in our company.
We have two BPS cubes for Cost Center and Revenue Planning and we have Actuals Data staging cube, we use 0SEM_BCS_10 to load actuals.
We created a MultiProvider on BPS cubes and Staging cube as a Source Data Basis for BCS.
Issue:
When loading plan data or Actuals data into BCS (0BCS_C11) cube using Load from Data Stream method, we have performance issue, We automated load process in a Process Chain. Some times it take about 20 hrs for only Plan data load for 3 group currencies and then elimination tasks.
What I noticed is, (for example/) when loading Plan data, system is also reading Actuals Cube which is not required, there is no selection available in Mapping or selection tab where I can restrict data load from a particular cube.
I tried to add 0INFOPROV into databasis but then it doen't show up as selection option in the data collection tasks.
Is there a way where I can restrict data load into BCS using this load option and able to restrict on cube I will be reading data from ?
I know that there is a filter Badi available, but not sure how it works.

We do have other characteristics like Value Type (10 = Actual and 20 = Plan) and Version (100 = USD Actual and 200 = USD Plan), but when I am loading data into BCS using Load from Data Stream method, the request goes to all the underlying cubes, which in my case are Planning cubes and Actual Cube, but I don't want request to goto Actual Cube when I am running only Plan load. I think its causing some performance issue.
For this reason I am thinking if I can use 0INFOPROV as we use in Bex queries to filter the InfoProvider so that the data load performance will improve.
I was able to to bring in 0INFOPROV into DataBasis by adding 0INFOPROV in the characteristics folder used by the Data Basis.
I am able to see this InfoObject Data Stream Fileds tab. I checked marked it to use it in the selection and regenerated the databasis.
I was expecting that now this field would be available for selection in data collection method, but its not.
So If its confirmed that there is no way we can use 0INFOPROV as a selection then I would suggest my client for a redesign of the DataBasis it self.

If you have uploaded values to some cost ele, which should be zero actually, simply upload them zero value

External Data Transfer to FI-SL Using RGUREC00 - Is Plan Data Supported?

I copied standard program (RGUREC00- to load PLAN data into FI-SL ) to z program and changed as per the requirement from client but it dosen't work for 'PLAN Data', it works only for 'Actuals'.
Is there any other program to load PLAN data ?
Please guide me.

Unable to load sample planning data through EAS

I am using planning 9.3.1 version. I installed Planning ,EAS, previously I loaded the sample data a lot of times , right now I installed Provider services now I am getting error in loading the data through EAS when I am loading the data I am unable to select the error file but I can select the load file . Even when I am hitting the online help it is not opening too.Previously before installing APS I am able to load. Does any one face this issue.....

download one key figure data from planning book ( interactive damand plan) and made some changes and need to upload the data back to same planning book
But, may I know why you are thinking of downloading, changing and uploading for just changing the figures for a particular key figure. You can do it in the planning book itself.
However, not all the key-figures can be changed. But, what type of key-figure you are speaking here? Is it like 'Forecast' for which the value is based on other key-figures, or is like a key-figure where some manual adjustments are to be done--so that it can be manually edited? However, in both the cases, the data can be changed in the planning book only. In first case, you can change the values of dependant key-figures and in the second case, you can change the key-figures directly.
And please note that you can change the values of the key-figures only at the detailed level. So, after loading the data in the book, use drill-down option, maintain the data at the detailed level, change the figures, and automatically, this gets reflected at the higher level.
In case you are unable to change the values, go to the 'Design' mode of the book, right-click your key-figure, under "Selected Rows", uncheck "Output Only" option. In case you are unable to see that option, then you are not authorised to change that. See if you can change the authorisations by going to the "Data View" tab in planning book configuration (/n/sapapo/sdp8b), and change the value of Status to 3.

Getting error in loading Text data to Planning

Hi,
I am planning to load text data to Planning. Following John's blog to do this,

I have Completed Data Load Administration task also in the Planning app.
I have mapped Data file and SQL table to the Target. When i map Text_Id with FY13(In blog it is MP3), that Join is showing x(wrong symbol) on that.
Is it means, mapping is not correct??
After that if i click on Flow tab, it is not showing any diagrams. I am getting this msg instead of diagrams,
odi-20350 your diagram contains one or more FATAL/CRITICAL errors preventing display of the Flow Editor
(I guess, because it contains errors in the mapping)
where can i find the error logs or error msg's regarding the issue in the ODI??
Any comments would be appreciated...!

The loading date, transportation date and planned date on the STO are the same as Delivery dates.

We have created a Intra plant STO (plant to plant in the same company code). The planned delivery date is 4 days. So if I create a STO today (27th march), the delivery date is 31st march (excl Saturday and Sunday).
During delivery creation, the loading date, transportation date and planned date are also coming as 31st march. The route determination for the given shipping point and route shows 2 days for transit and 4 hours for pick pack. There is no loading time maintained for the given combination.
Can you please advice why are the dates coming the same as delivery date during delivery creation without considering the duration maintained in route determination ?

Hi,
This is a standard behavior of SAP in case of Stock Transfer PO.
If you want that the delivery date of receiving plant be transferred to supplying plant, please use BADI MD_STOCK_TRANSFER.

Loading Cummulative data in Planning

Hi,
There is a requirement to load cummulative data in Hyperion Planning application and then derive for the month figures for eg.

Can we have an alternate time series to load cummulative data and compute for the month figures?
or any other way be addressed the issue?

Hi,
It is possible to load the cumulative data to alternative period members. Then you would need to calculate and move monthly data to the children of year total.
If your period dimension is dense, creating 12 more members doubles your block size which in return might impact performance and disk space usage. Depending on the database size, the aforementioned calculation might take long time too especially if your period dimension is dense.
I would really take using different versions approach as it also makes reporting much easier.

The user needs to load the data through the excel and click on the save button so that the data is saved in the cube through integrated planning.
The objects used are
customer, material, plant, calendarmonth sales qty, gross billing!!

If you are using bPS you can get the details in Wiki also for the same.
You can then create the hyperlink in Excel ,which user can use to upload data which can then be saved to cube using save button.

Outline load utility Data load error in Planning

Hi,
We are loading the data using OutlineLoad utility in Hyperion Planning 11.1.2.1,but data is not loading and the log file showing the below error.
Unable to obtain dimension information and/or perform a data load: com.hyperion.planning.olap.NoAvailableOlapConnectionsException: Unable to obtain a connection to Hyperion Essbase. If this problem persists, please contact your administrator.

How exactly can I load TEXT DATA to a Hyperion Planning application?

I have a data file that has TEXT data that I want to load to planning. I do not wish for this text data to be displayed in a Smart List, rather I want to use the new Planning data type "Text"
In chapter 5 of the Planning Admin Guide in the Matrix for Data Load Tools, it says the Planning Outline Load Utility can load Text Data values.
I can't make sense out of the the instructions to load data with this utility. Can someone please help me?

I like your idea of flipping the Data Load Dimension and the Driver Dimension. Unfortunately Planning won't let me set Period as a Data Load Dimension.
I only get Account, CCCC, Employee, SCCC, and SAU_CAU_Facility (5 of the 11 dimensions in this application).
So that's why I set the Data Load Dimension and the Driver Dimension as I did. It ran but with some kickouts on missing members. So 16 of the 19 records I sent processed and I understand why these three kicked out in the error file:_
