Load RCproject in iMovie HD?

Hello! I have a question which I cannot find the answer to.
I need a way to open an .rcproject file in iMovie HD... dont have access to a computer with iMovie 8 or 9 only HD... is there any way to do this?

They are 2 separate apps, there are no trailers for the IOS version.

How do I get iphoto to load instead of imovie when I plug in my Kodak Zi8?

When I first got my Kodak Zi8 I did not like the way it loaded iPhoto and imported my video into it when I plugged it into my Macbook, so I switched it to loading iMovie instead. However, having read up on it, I would prefer it to go back to the default of loading iPhoto and importing my videos directly into that program. I can't seem to figure out how to do this. Any suggestions? This should be easy, but when I plug in my Zi8 it mounts a hard drive but doesn't associate a program with it.

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware on your pc.
*please go to the firefox ''menu [[Image:New Fx Menu]] > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc).
*also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there.
*finally, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

Can no longer import or open a rcproject in iMovie 11 (9.0.9) - the file however is still there

I do have an urgent problem. I was working on an imovie-project. Imovie asked to create thumbnails - after that I no longer see this project in iMovie - other projects are still there. The funny thing is, that the file is still in the library (imovie-folder) - but cannot be opened via doubleclick or imported in iMovie either.
I do have two different version of iMovie on my Mac - the older one (9.0.9) and a newer one (10.0.5) - but I`ve always been working with the older one and the other projects have beeb created in version 9 and can still be loaded - and are in the same folder in the library. (see screenshot)
I`ve been working on this project for several days - I desperatly need held on this!

Just want to say I am having a very similar problem. I've been working iniMovie for a couple years, and I have never experience this before. I do have the latest update iMovie11 9.0.2. I have about 1400 pictures imported from iPhoto (and really didn't experience major issues importing them), but now I am trying to go in and adjust cropping and transitions, and every slight adjustment takes approx 20 - 30 seconds, so it's taking me FOREVER to edit this project. Am seriously frustrated!! Any ideas out there?

Best way to load videos to iMovie?

I have recently bought Canon EOS 5D mark iii and I am using Apperture for managing my photos. I have started taking videos as well now. I can load the videos from Apperture into iMovie for editing. But could I load them directly from my camera? Apperture database seems to be only one event in iMovie. If I could load videos directly I could get events by years and months. However, iMovie does not seem to recognize my camera.

Import rcproject into iMovie 09

In the past, I could move iMovie events and projects from one machine to another and viola! They appeared in iMovie, worked flawlessly, no problem.
Since upgrading to Lion, I've tried doing the same thing. The events showed up but not the project. I can't figure out anyway to import it.
Any advice?

I did that, even restarted my computer. No joy.
The .rcproject file is in the /iMovie Projects folder, the corresponding events are in the /iMovie Events folder...it's worked many times before. I just haven't tried since upgrading to Lion.

Iphone videos load sideways into iMovie?

I have an iPhone 5C with 8.1.1 and iMovie 6.0 . Safari OSX 10.6.8. THe videos from the iPhone have been loading and playing sideways. Is there a rotate possible for the videos?

iMovie 6.0.3 is pretty old so I do not have an answer for you. However I can confirm that you can rotate video in iMovie 9.0.9 as well as the current version 10.0.6. Are you shooting your videos in Portrait mode? If so, you should get in the habit of shooting your video clips in Landscape mode as it will conform to the 16X9 aspect ratio.

Which dslr 25fps loads easily to iMovie without converter? One around £500 or less please?

The apple list is very long with all sorts of extra info and I feel baffled - one or two best buys to use with imovie would help me. Or do I need to get
final cut pro x ? but gather that is not straight forward without converters either.
Does the conversion of files alter the quality of the video?
I want to just put the card in and it go!

What are you using the framed photos for, display only or printing?
Have you looked into Photoshop actions that create frames around photos? There are a lot of them out there but I don't know if PSE 6 can use actions. If it can give some a try.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Having troubles loading videos in iMovie trailers

Imovie has been really great up to now? I tried to create a movie trailer with some videos and I get half way through it and it locks up on me? Wont accept anymore videos? please help. I have the updated ver. 9.0.8 imovie '11

Imovie 08 refuses to load after upgrading to Leopard

I got Leopard for christmas and after upgrading imovie worked fine until I upgraded to imovie 08 with ilife. Now it refuses to load after it bounces it just stops and acts like as if I didn't even do anything. I've tried disk utility, and a bunch of other stuggestions but it dfidn't work.

Yes I did all of them. All of them appear to load except for imovie. and I did the installment of ilife 08. For some reason a folder appeared for the older version of imovie and that works fine even though i installed iLife 08, it suddenly made a folder today saying imovie (old version).
I don't get why it is doing that when the others work just fine.
Yes the display options are correct
The only one I know of is the divx codec I believe that is it.

I don't know what version of iMovie you are using, nor the Mac OS X version (that's always helpful when posting questions).
However, usually when iMovie has the type of problem you mention, it's advisable to firstly trash the preference file. Here's how to go about it for iMovie '11 on Mountain Lion (similar methods apply for other versions):
Go to your Home folder <your user name>/Library/Preferences (NOT the Library folder at the top level in Macintosh HD). Similar to Lion, on Mountain Lion (10.8.3), the Home Library folder will be hidden (unlike pre-Lion OS X versions). To access it, click and hold down Go in the Finder menu bar, then press and hold down the Option key on the keyboard - the Library folder will appear in the drop down list. Slide the pointer down to Library and, as you release the pointer, the folder will open in Finder. Now you can navigate to the Preferences folder.
In your user Library/Preferences folder, locate a file named "com.apple.iMovieApp.plist". With iMovie closed, drag this file to the Desktop. When next opened, iMovie will create a fresh preference file with the default settings (this happens in the background as iMovie is loading).
If iMovie now opens and appears to be working properly, you can change the default settings in the menu item "IMovie > Preferences", as desired. Also, it's now safe to drag the old preference file to the Trash. Trashing the file will not harm any existing Events or Projects.
Note that these instructions are for iMovie '11 (currently version 9.0.9). For users on earlier versions, the preference file has a different but similar name. For example, for iMovie '09 (that's version 8.0.6) the file is named "com.apple.iMovie8.plist". Earlier versions may or may not have a number in the name, for example, "com.apple.iMovie.plist"
If this doesn't fix the problem with iMovie crashing, please come back as I have another possible solution to offer.

My Cannon HF 100 native format is 50i but when iMovie loads it up it says the it is at 30 fps - for PAL 25fps 50 i would be ideal one would hav ethought - any experts out there. movies in NSTC seem to be without the interference patterns (jiggling leaves)

my canon HF50 is set to a native 50i frame rate. When I load it into iMovie from the chip iMovie says it is at 30 fps. Interestingly editing it int NSTC (american TV format) I do not seem to get the horrible interference patterns (twitching leaves, vibrating paralell lines that I have with doing the same clips as PAL, )the british format).

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Photo rotate not working in iMovie or entourage

I'm running iPhoto 5.0.4 and ever since the most recent update, photos that are vertical are shown horizontally. When I go to rotate the photos so that they appear correct, it shows correctly in the main library view, but when I click on it to the edit view the orientation is back to horizontal, and when I go to email the photos or load them into iMovie they continue to display horizontally despite any rotation I do to them in iPhoto. Help!

It sounds like your database is slightly damaged. You can try an automatic rebuild. Hold down the Option and Command keys while you launch iPhoto. Check the first 3 options in the dialog box, then click Rebuild. It can take a while if you have a lot of pictures. Imovie saves and stills duration

I'm having really frustrating problems with iMovie 11. Every time I quit and re-open the application it randomly doesn't save parts of my work. Some changes are there - others are lost for ever. This has been happening consistenly over about 5 movies now and it's beyond a joke. I know others have submitted questions about this but I have found no answers.
Also, if you place a still image in a move and specify a duration, iMovie always ignores the length of time you specify and inserts something else. So if you type in 3 it will change it to, say, 2.1 or 4.5 or 1.9. It doesn't make the editing process easy!

I am using iMovie 6.0.4 (267.4) on my G4 DP 1.25 GHz, 2 GB RAM. Now when i save my 12 GB iMovie to another drive in my G4, iMovie reloads the movie that was just saved and closes the original. The reloaded 8.4 MBversion is empty. How can the reloading step be prevented?
I tried saving as, and iMovie takes about 11 minutes to save. iMovie then loads an empty 8.4 MB iMovie file. I repaired permissions and tried to save again getting the same results of loading an empty iMovie file with the same name as the saved file. I close this file and don't save.
