Load Testing for IMS 5.2

hi,
is therer any tools available for load testing for ims 5.2? Can mailstone be used? Understand that this is used in NMS 4.x

There is no offically supported load testing tools that I am aware of. You are correct that mailstone was shipped with NMS. I have used mailstone, once, but could not figure out what the thing was trying to do. I think it is badly written and the documentation is extremely lacking, IMHO.
Being that iMS follows Internet standards you can use any testing tools that also follow those Internet standards. I've not researched to know if load testing tools exist for mail servers or not, certainly someone has done it.

  • Do load test for application installed in Weblogic 10.3.4 using OATS 9.31

    Hi Friends,
    I need to do a load test for my application deployed in Weblogic 10.3.4. I went on to use the Oracle Application testing Suite (OATS 9.31). But it says its compatible only upto Weblogic 10.3.3. So pls advice me to find a way to load test my oracle fusion application deployed in the current server.
    Thanks and regards,

  • How can I do the load test for EBS 11i

    Dear Suport
    I start to try OATS.
    I have used a Openscript to record the functional test and it works fine for EBS 11i.
    However, I cannot directly use the script from Functional Test. Is there have any ways to convert the Functional Testing script to Load Testing script?
    Since the fail of using functional script, I create a new Load Testing script in Openscript and record what I do in functional test. However, I got the below error when I record the script.
    !ENTRY oracle.oats.scripting.modules.http.proxyRecorder.ProxyRecorderQueueRunnable 2 0 2010-01-06 11:42:07.354

    !MESSAGE formsRecorder.jar does not exist in C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext
    I have tried to copy the file, formsRecorder.jar, from C:\OracleATS\OpenScript\openscript_configuration\org.eclipse.osgi\bundles\56\1\.cp\lib to C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\ext
    However, the file, formsRecorder.jar, will be deleted when record the test by openscript. (Antivirus too is disabled during record the script).
    Do you have any idea for record the Load Testing script by Openscript?

  • ATS load testing for E-Business Suite using IE8 issue

    Hi,
    I am trying to record a load testing script using Oracle Application testing SUite for E-Business Suite R12.1.3 application. When I start recording I get a pop up asking me to change/disable XSS filter in IE8. I have altready done that and restarted the browser. But the same pop up message comes up.
    My queries are:
    1) Is ATS 9.3 supported for use with Internet Explorer 8? I am using Windows 7
    2) How can I overcome this issue so that I can records EBS script in openscript.
    I have run the runDiagnosis.bat file under openscript install folder and the output is as follows:

    Hello
    1/ ATS 9.3 is supported with IE8, not IE9 at the moment
    2/ Did you disable xss settings for the four different security zones?
    You can also try to add the EBS url to the trusted sites and disable xss settings for that zone only.
    Let us know and good luck

  • Load Tests for (Desgin issue, Servlets with EJBs in real life?)

    I have a very light java program that makes an HTTP connection to a servlet
    on the WLS,
    it uses the GET method for that, and reads the response from the server, it
    logs the time that passes from just before opening the HTTP connection and
    right after finishing reading the response. Below is the code snippet for
    that:
    url = new URL(sURL);
    start = getCurrentTime();
    URLConnection conn = url.openConnection();
    conn.connect();
    readResponse(conn.getInputStream());
    end = getCurrentTime();
    There is a second piece that controls the HTTP connections, it is a separate
    java program that creates
    the HTTP connection process as many times as desired in a loop and waits for
    a specific period of time between every fork of the process (values I used
    are 0ms, 3 ms, 30ms etc), you can think of this as arrival rate for the
    requests to the server. Below is the code snippet that does this :
    for(int i=0; i<nNumOfHits; i++) {
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec(HTTP_conn_command);
    Thread.sleep(nInterval);
    I used WLS 5.1, on a pentium III 866 Mhz., Windows 2000 Pro, with 512 Mb
    Ram,
    tests are done locally, (WLS and the client programs run on the same
    machine),
    after each test I refresh the server to be accurate.
    With the Servlet + Java approach what the servlet does is to instantiate a
    Java Object and
    call an Init method on the object passing the HttpServletRequest to it, and
    call the
    corresponding setters, that's it. There are 7 paramaters which are all
    strings, so 7 setters are called.
    The Servlet + EJB approach does the same thing, but encapsulates the above
    implementation in a single business method of a stateless session bean. Home
    interface is created in Init() method of the servlet,
    so it is used over and over again.
    Any comments on this, greatly appreciated,
    thanks,

  • How to set Proxy for IE 8.0 on doing Load Testing with OATS 12.1.0.2

    I have tried adding proxy server by adding the address to "Localhost" and Port as 8080.
    but nothing is working out, for recording an EBS instance its working fine ,no need to setup anything in the OATS tool, eg, Proxy settings.
    But when it comes to BPM  with ADF technology , the recorder is not starting the Recording even the pointer navigation also not wokring.
    So, is there way to record the ADF applications in BPM ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Wayne,
    Thing is do we need to add the proxy server here?, as for doing Load testing on EBS application,there is no need of adding a proxy server,
    So the same way it should work with the ADF application too, but its not showing any mouse pointer in the Browser tool bar or recording
    the navigation.
    Point to be noted is, we need to connect to VPN in order to access the Application.
    is it because of VPN connection that its not recording?
    But while doing the functional testing I didn't face anyproblem though as its recording everything even if we are connected to VPN.
    In Functional testing also i found ,all the input fields where we add the "username" or any input data via a "text box" the tool is not able to
    record the field information along with the input we enter.
    If you could let me know ,how to do a Load testing for ADF application using BPM , it would be helpful
    Thanks

  • Which tool do you use for load testing?

    Which tool do you use for load testing for J2EE application?

    hi,
    i use jmeter for without issues..
    first make sure that the system from where you are doing load testing is in the same lan(without firewall) to that of server. Here you are testing the capacity of server and not the network bandwith.
    So assuming very good network connection what is the servers performance level...
    If u have to decide which tool is decent enough to load testing,
    i would suggest go for jmeter. its reliable and i have used it without problems.
    Here is my quick tutorial for jemeter which i made for my teams reference.

    RECORDING A TEST.
         Add a HTTP proxy server in workbench by right clicking on it and selecting Add->Non test Element->HTTP Proxy Server.
         In Test Plan Add Thread Group
         In HTTP proxy server select Target Controller as Test Plan > Thread Group.
         Go to Internet Explorer and go to internet settings and set proxy server as localhost and the port
              which is configured in Jmeter proxy server.Save Settings.
         In Jeter proxy server start by Clicking on Start button in the HTTP Proxy Server Flap.
         In browser navigate the application which you want to test.
         The nodes will be added in the Thread Group.
         Once Navigation is done stop the proxy server and save the test plan from file menu.
    LOGGING INTO APPLICATION.
         When we have to login into system and then navigate the system
              we need a cookie to be tracked after login. This could be achieved
              simply by Add -> Config Element -> HTTP Cooie Manager.
         After adding the HTTP Cooie Manager simply run the test.
    LOOPING COUNTER.
         When a request is made multiple parameter is sent to server.
         Parameters are sent from the HTTP Request node added in the Thread Group
              in "Send Parameter with the request" table.
         If we run the loop count 10 times the parameters will be sent same in every request.
         If you have to send parameters like user1,user2,user3,user4....
              then add -> Pre processor -> Counter.
         Put start as 1 and and Maximum as 10 or whatever required.
         Put Referene name as iCtr or whatever.
         In the "Send Parameter with the request" in value column put user${iCtr}

  • Best load test software for RTMP application

    Hi everyone,
    I'd like to run some load tests for my application (AIR 3.4, Flex 4.6). I'm using flex messaging protocol RTMP and I was wondering which software could easily (or not) simulate my Producer job and how.
    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Fabien

    Hi Fabien,
    Have you heard about NeoLoad from Neotys?
    It is a load testing tool for Web applications. It is very focused on all RIA’s included Flex and RTMP.
    I’m working for the company, and you could think that my opinion is biased here.
    I then invite you to have a try yourself and download the trial version at www.neotys.com.
    It includes all RTMP and Flex capabilities. You’ll see how NeoLoad makes easy the handling of that protocol.
    Our website gives explanation on RTMP load testing, that might be helpful too.
    The last but not the least, we’re Adobe partner. Our tool has been designed accordingly to all RTMP requirements. You can go ahead with confidence.
    Regards,
    Olivier Hanoun.

  • Remove test run from Load Test Manager in Visual Studio Online Load Testing

    I have been using the Visual Studio Online Azure load testing for a while now, and I have a number of test runs that I would like to remove.  I am not referring to my local Load Test Results Store (on-premise SQL DB), as I can remove test runs no problem.
     I mean, how to remove them from "the cloud" so we can no longer re-download the test results.

    Hi David,
    As far as I know, it's not supported for Visual Studio Online to run load tests for solutions hosted on GitHub. You can submit a user voice
    here.

  • Abandened Transactions during Load test

              Hi Guys,
              We are frequently seeing the following trace message in Weblogic console as attached
              at the end of mail.
              Actually we are conducting a load test for a JMS based applications running on
              Weblogic server 6.1 sp4. The test stubs are spawning multiple threads and sending
              both synchronous and asynchronous messages. During the course of tests we are
              not getting any application specific error. Please let us know as to how we can
              track root cause of these abandened transactions.

    During a two phase commit of a transaction, the coordinator
              will try to do the second phase commit operation for each
              participant for 24 hours (you can configure this
              time period using the "AbandonTimeoutSeconds" attribute of JTAMBean ).
              If it fails to complete the commit by then, it logs this message and
              abandons
              the transaction.
              I'm not sure why it can't complete the transaction.

  • Oracle Application Suite Load Testing

    Hi,
    This is regarding Data Bank Settings in OLT. I am trying to a run load test for 50 users. I have a databank of 400 records. But I want the 50 users to run just once and pick any 50 from 400 records in the Data Bank. What are the Databank settings required for this case? Highly appreciate your inputs on this.
    Thanks,
    Shobana

    Forgot to mention. My script uses getDatabank("User_Parameters").getNextDatabankRecord(); in initialize() function.
    Thanks,
    Shobana
