Load time of reply window

The load time of the reply window is rather long, somewhat of 10-15 seconds (either at home or at the office).
With this feature we will never be able to get into the reach of Dennis/Altenbach/Ben
Laura could something be done about this?

  • Windows Compatibility (IE) / Load Time / PNG Files

I host my website on Mobile Me and have had several Windows users look at my site complaining about load time and scrolling issues (up and down the frame is jumpy). I have heard that some older versions of IE cannot work with PNG files very well. I suppose this "may" be the issue. Any thoughts on how to get the web site working more smoothly for those people on Windows using IE? Also, some Firefox users have stated they too have issues when viewing via a Windows a system. Thanks...

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Long Windows XP loading time???

Hi, I have a very strange problem with my computer.
Whenever I turn my computer on after it has been off for a few hours, the Windows XP loading time is very long. It keeps loading for more than a minute at the Windows XP logo with the blue srolling bar and finally comes to the login screen. This only happens the first time after the computer has been off for a few hours. Once I'm in windows I can reboot several times without any problem, then the loading time is only 17 seconds counted from the second windows starts to load till the login screen. In other words cold boot takes very long to load but not warm boot. What can be the cause of this? I cant figure it out, please help me.
    My system:
    Pentium 4 Northwood 3.0GHz
    MSI P-FISR 865PE
    2 X 256MB Corsair Value RAM
    Hitachi Deskstar 7k250 160GB SATA
    ANTEC SONATA with 380W PSU
    Gainward GeForce FX 5900 128MB
    NEC 2500A Dvd-burner

How many programs have you got that are booting up while windows xp starts?  If you have loads of programs enabled at the startup that can vastly slow your system.
When you are on the desktop.  Click on Start Button
Click on Run.  In the box type: msconfig.  Click on OK.Click on startup, and just disable the programs that you don`t need, ie winrar, win media player, etc.  Infact, give me a list of all the programs you have in the startup and we will take it from there.
Also, you might want to adjust your dram settings of your ram.  I noticed when I changed my ram from generic ram to a brand name, ie in your case crucial, that it performed slowly, but when I adjusted the ram settings accordingly, my bootup speed increased and it boots up in roughly 25 seconds. You need to get to DRAM Timing in BIOS and manually set the timings first start with setting SPD off, then experiment with the timings.
I suggest that you do try to Relax those Timings..Try 3.0-3-3-8-8 or 2.5-3-4-8-8......You may also want to try uping the VDIMM Voltage a little more, try 2.75V or 2.8V.
Get back to me about point 1 and we will have a look.

  • Windows loading time is too long!

After I installed Desktop manager  ver4.6 to my PC .  PC loading time  is very long,
It takes 3 minutes to load  desktop screen when turning on PC .  (without Desktop Manager it takes one and 30 minutes)
Does Anyone have same issue ?         OS: XP pro
After  finish loading  I do not feel slow.
    please help me out .
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Do you have the Desktop Manager set to load when the computer boots up? If so you can disable that by going into Add/Remove Programs, select the Desktop Manager and hit the Change/Remove button. Hit Modify, select the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and hit Next. You want to keep going through the wizard to pick the same options you did when installing it. When you're on the last screen before you hit 'Install' uncheck the box that says to start the Desktop Manager when the computer starts.
If someone has been helpful please consider giving them kudos by clicking the star to the left of their post.

  • Long load times

    I am trying to edit a page and I only have a css page which is local linked to the page. It only affects me when trying to work in split or design view. I hav tried disabling the linked files thing and I have tried this http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/887/cpsid_88742.html also, but I am still getting this long time. It seems to only affect the load time when I have the following in my head tag;
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/main.css"/>
It also slows the performance drastically, If I type the letter "D" then deleete that letter it will freeze up for a for a short period of time. I can not have this when trying to create websites for clients. Any help would be appreciated.

also commenting out the css link in the head seems to fix it =/

  • ICloud load times are extremely slow

Since moving to iCloud my web interface is nearly unusable with iCloud.  I also had slow load times with MobileMe to the point I was nearly going to quit using it.
On the iCloud system at times I'll load up the page and the mail will just fail to load. Other times I'll try to search for mail and it will hang up, I'll come back 10-15 minutes later and it will have either quit searching, or still have not found anything.
I'm using the most recent version of Firefox and Windows 7 64 bit.

I'm having the same issues, no matter if I use OS X or Windows to check my mail.  Searching is virtually useless and keeps me hanging forever.  I can't even search for items on my phone any longer - it NEVER seems to find anything that I'm looking for if it's not in my immediate Inbox.
C'mon Apple - this is something Google has been doing for years with Gmail.  You've got to fix these nagging issues.

  • Long Load Times on Graphic Intensive Games

I'm experiencing some absurdly long load times (1-3 hours) with many games (SPORE, Portal, X:3, etc...) that I believe may be related to how graphically intensive they are. Older games with lower graphics quality (WoW, Civ 4, etc...) load up fine.
When I load any newer game the icon appears in the tray and the computer does nothing else for at least an hour, whereupon the program loads and begins playing immediately--often without any further delays or issues.
I also use Boot Camp to run Windows Vista (Ultimate 32) and experience no delays when running SPORE on Windows.

  • Itunes Load Times

    Hey all.
I would just like a bit of input regarding the Itunes load times? How long on average does it seem to take from when you first click on the itunes icon, until it pops up? Because it seems to take quite a bit longer than my other media players, and I was just wondering if I am facing an issue.

You have posted in the Mac forum, you will probably find more help in the Windows forum.

  • Long loading time if no internet connection available (VS 2005 Redist)

    Hallo forum members!
I've been searching for a solution for my problem for a while - without success. It isn't really a critical issue, but quite annoying anyways.
Here's the problem i'm dealing with: I've developed an .NET application using Visual Studio 2005 and the included Crystal Report classes. When deploying my module everything works  as expected, offering a decent performance when loading the Crystal Report assemblies provided by the redistributable package - if an internet connection is available. If the system doesn't offer such a connection (e.g. not properly configured proxy settings) the module takes a huge amount of time to be loaded. An examination (using ProcMon) leaded to the conclusion that the Crystal Report assemblies try to retrieve the system connection settings from the registry in order to establish a connection to the internet. This is done only once when loading for the first time.
Has anyone experienced the same problem? What is this connection used for? Is there a way to suppress this behaviour on systems without a valid internet connection in order to avoid this annoying long loading time?
Thanks on advance for your help.
    Greetings,
    L.F.

Nothing like a good vacation. And I got your christmas present early :). While you were away we (actually one other customer) figured it out. I have written a note re. the resolution that was supposed to be published yesterday, but it's still not out there, so here it is as I submitted it:
    Symptom
When a report is loaded is takes between 150 - 180 seconds to display
This is only reproducible on computers with no internet connection
There are no error messages and the report comes up eventually
    Reproducing the Issue
Create a Windows application with the following function calls:
              new Report()
             report.SetDataSource(dataSet)
The function SetDataSource takes 2 plus minutes to execute
    Cause
On SetDataSource() an attempt is made to connect to crl.verisign.com
SetDataSource() uses the framework and as per the Microsoft Knowledge Base specified under "Resolution", it is actually the framework that is attempting the connection
    Resolution
Solution is described in this Microsoft Knowlege Base:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936707
The following Microsoft article also discusses the issue:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb629393.aspx
An alternative workaround to the above is as follows:
Open IE and go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options...
    Go to the Advanced tab
    Find the Security heading
Under the Security heading find "Check for publisher's certificate revocation"
    Uncheck this option
    Keywords
long time load crl.verisign.com certificate revoked internet
The note will be published here:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/businessobjects-notes
and the number will be 1270414

  • Can't open new message window or reply window in mail

I just started having issues where I cannot open a new message window or a reply window. I also cannot open a new Note or To Do. I restarted, zapped the pram (8 times), and was going to trash the plist but couldn't find it. Does anyone know if there is a plist for mail. Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Hi ulua & welcome to discussions...
Try this - find the /Library/Preferences folder in your user/Home folder and then locate and delete this file:
    com.apple.mail.plist
*Caution* - doing this may clear your account settings so be sure to note those first in the event you are required to reconfigure, etc.

  • Can't open reply window on Mail 2.1.3

I can't get the reply window to open. And I can't get the spell check to work either. I have not used Mail for a very long time - I had been using Entourage. I recently decide to move to Mail and I imported from Entourage OK, but it's very flaky and I can't even write a new mail - I can bang on the keys until I'm blue in the face and nothing shows up in the body of the email. I've tried removing Mail from the "cache" and Envelope from "Mail" and rebooting without success. I have another ibook and everything works on it OK. Should I move any files from that computer to this one? Or ???

Thanks Mulder for your response. I have been very busy and am just getting back to this problem. (I updated my profile to reflect my true OS as 10.4.11).
I did as you suggested and ran repair permissions, however that did not solve the problem. I did notice that one of my partitions gave an error message that it could not unmount it. This partition has system 9 stuff in it, however I have not used anything in that partition for a long time. I use it mostly for storage now and as for as I know there is nothing running in there that would stop it from unmounting, unless it's some Classic functions that come on at startup.
Anyway, I have a second identical machine and system and Mail works fine there, so I replaced my Mail application with the one from the working machine, but that didn't solve anything either. I think that tells me that there are other files I need to also replace with working ones but I don't know which ones they might be.
One of the interesting things is that I can't compose or reply to an email but it will let me forward. strange.
If you have anymore thoughts I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.

  • Mail won't open reply window & can't type since upgrading to 10.4.6

like the subject says, ever since I updated my OS to 10.4.6, Mail won't open a reply window when trying to reply to a received e-mail. Also, when trying to type a new email message, can only type until the space bar is hit, then get the error sound and no more characters can be typed. Tried repairing/verifying disk permissions several times and checked disk as well, but still won't work properly. Mozilla mail works without any problem, so it must be a Mac Mail thing...
thanks for any ideas...maybe this stuff needs to be tested better before OS updates are put out...will this and all of us be abandoned to Intel MacOS in the near future?

Most people having this issue have successfully solved it cleaning up the LaunchServices cache. The following article describes how to manually reset LaunchServices. The notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved.
    Resetting Launch Services
The following article also describes the side effects of cache cleaning:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
The following article provides links to some utilities that can be used for troubleshooting and cache cleaning:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
It seems that the most appropriate utility for solving this particular problem is Tiger Cache Cleaner.
In addition to the utilities mentioned above, you may also consider OnyX, if for no other reason, because it's free. If you want to try OnyX, after installing it, do this (be sure to read the articles about the side effects of cache cleaning first):
    1. Quit all applications.
    2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
    3. Click Maintenance. In the Reset section, check LaunchServices database.
    4. You may uncheck any other pre-checked options if you've already done them using other utilities.
    5. Click the Execute button.
If that doesn't solve the problem, you may try again checking the Links between documents and applications option in step 3 instead.
Please let me know whether you were able to solve the problem, what worked for you and what didn't.

  • Optimization on Load Time (Large Images and Sounds)

    Hi,
I have an all flash website that works by having each portion of it to load and unload in the center of a frame based off the navigation chosen.  Load times on everything but one part of my site are ok.
The dimensions of the part inside the frame are 968x674.  I know that's relatively large for a flash file, but that can't be changed at this point.
Within the page there are objects that come up when you find an item on the screen.  Its a dialog box and it shows text, an image, and has a voice over that reads what the text says.  After you're done looking at it, there is an x-button to dismiss the window.  There are 15 of these and they are exported to the actionscript.  I add them in the actionscript via addChild.  I figured this is a huge spot that could be reconfigured, but I'm not sure if it would make much a difference.
The other huge thing is there is a ton on the screen.  It starts you off in an environment, and when you click 3 different sections, it zooms into that portion allowing you to look for the items you're trying to find.
There is also a man that talks and animates in the beginning and at the end.  We are planning on taking out the end part and putting a text box up.
Here is the website..  its a propane safety site for kids.  I know its kind of a weird idea, but it works and people seem to like it.
    www.propanekids.com
The two parts of the site we are trying to optimize is the main menu when you first are at the site, and the "Explore" section.  (Just click on the cloud on the front page.
If someone could take the time to give me some new ideas of how I can get these loading times down, I would greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks

Ok, who ever posted this message is hacking me  and i can't believe you guys are helping
