Loaded cs4 on windows7, won't open

Hello. I loaded photoshop cs4 on my Dell with windows7, and it reads "Adobe Photoshop CS4 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Thats as far as I got. Is there any ideas? Does the version of windows support cs4?

yes, but you may need to install using compatibility mode. did you see any errors when installing?
if not, hold down alt-ctrl-shift while launching ps cs4 (to reset your preferences). a confirmation dialog box should appear. confirm that you want to reset preferences.
if that fails, either shutdown running processes to see if you can find the conflicting program or
uninstall cs4
run the cleaner, http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
restart you computer
reinstall.

Does anyone know why my Iphoto won't open? I can't figure out why it just stays on the opening loading sign stage and won't open up any more - was working previously but seems to freeze in that opening symbol stage now whenever I try to directly open it or use it through the application field to open any jpeg format.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Illustrator CS4 mac file won't open on a PC

Hi,
I'm trying to open a .AI file made on Illustrator CS4 for Mac on a PC at home and it won't open. Do the two versions talk to each other or I'm just losing my time? On my PC I have CS4 as well.
I've tryied saving an EPS for CS4 and CS3 and it won't work either.
Can anybody help?

I had to wait to get the lines of the crash. To be more specific, then:
Mac: Illustrator CS4. Using a Mac OS X 10.4.11
PC: Illustrator CS4. Using Windows Vista Ultimate.
About transferring the file, I tried sending it by e-mail form Entourage (with "Encode for any computer, Apple Double") and also saving it on a pen drive. Saved the file as a CS4 .AI
About opening the file, I tried to open it by clicking on the file and dragging it on the opened Illustrator window.
Error (The same for other files):
Cant'open the illustration. The illustration contains an incomplete or garbled object description.
Offending operator: "%AI10_EndSymbol"

CS4 Uninstall app won't open

I just bought a new computer. In OS X Mountain Lion, I was able to restore from a time machine backup to the new computer so my CS4 apps are installed on the new computer. However, the uninstallers on my old computer won't open. If I select the app in the finder, the image has a big bisected circled over it. I get the message "You can't open the application "Uninstall.app" because it may be damaged or incomplete." Any suggestions?

Try these things in order and then see if the app will open.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Premiere CS4 capture screen won't open

I was capturing video from mini DV tapes. after 7 tapes of capture, Premiere CS4 capture screen wouldn't open. I had the thing working fine and for some unknown reason the capture screen quit opening. .I've tried restarting the program restarting the computer, I've clicked on the file drop down menu and clicked capture, I've pressed f5.... NOTHING IS WORKING! ARRRRH!!!! Any hep will be appreiciated,?

I also have this problem, I got around it by using video DVD maker (http://www.protectedsoft.com/) (chose the 'capture' option) and then editing the avi in premier (cs4). This works fine.
A little additional info on my problem:
I am also using mini DV tapes and capturing through a USB, using windows vista 32bit. I do this every day and it has been fine for a year, but suddenly one day it didn’t want to. At first the capture window would open but 'capture device offline' would show, even with the mini dv plugged in and switched on, tape running/paused/stopped. After clicking on the window, it would then turn black, then white and then freeze. Trying to close the capture window by clicking the red 'x' would crash premier, prompting window's 'this programme is not responding' window that meant that a crash report would not be generated.
As I have said before the usb cable and mini dv are fine as I have successfully managed to capture through another programme. I have also since run the adobe updater which has updated all my adobe software. I have restarted the programme, computer, opened old projects, started new ones and all have not been successful in making any change in the capture crash.
I remember this happening on my old laptop, and it was solved by just waiting for the programme to respond after 5-7mins. I guess this was to do with the computer being low spec. However This same waiting game does not have any effect on my current laptop, I have waited for 30mins and thought that was enough, the current computer I am using has been absolutely fine for about a year, so why the problems suddenly?
Only things I can think of that have been changed recently on my laptop are: re-install of windows service pack 2, firewall modifications.
However the rest of the premier programme works fine, rendering, effects, exporting etc.

DW CS4 crashed and won't open! Help!

I was working through files from lynda.com and DW crashed, now it won't launch. I have tried multiple times. restarted the computer twice, removed the dat file from my personal configuration - now what?? I can't get it to open at all.

InDesign1.5 / Windows7 / won't open existing files

'Cannot open the file "bn66y.indd". InDesign may not support the file format, or a plug-in that supports the file formay may be missing.'
I have been using InDesign1.5 for some years on an XP system, and recently on one under XPx64 with no problems. I've now got Windows7 running [on the same machine as I have been using for XPx64]. InDesign will create and save new files and open them, but will not open any of the files I created while using XP. The above dialog is all I get.

Taking something of a shot in the dark here. The earlist version of ID I started using was version 3 or CS running on XP Pro at the time. As I've never used ID 1.5, I cannot vouch for its performance on XP / XP 64.
As for Win 7, you may have run into an upgrade brick wall. Old software can do odd things on a new OS. Anything from not installing to issues you are experiencing.
An upgrade to CS4 is probably in order, or is this out of the question?

Error Message when Double-clicking a CS4 InDesign File; Won't Open

I recently installed CS4, upgrading from CS2. Before installing CS4, I could double-click the icon for the file and it would open in InDesign CS2. After installing CS4, when I double-click an InDesign file icon, I get an error message that Windows cannot open the file and needs to know which program should be used. I check the "Select the program from a list" and a window opens that lists several of the applications I have installed. Neither InDesign versions are on the list, so I "Browse" to the Adobe folder in which both InDesigns reside. I then select a version (it doesn't matter which one; neither work) but then it doesn't appear in the list and my "selection" reverts to the "recommended" Photoshop CS4.
I can understand if this function has disappeared in CS4, and we now have to open a file using the "open" menu item, but I can't understand why neither verison "sticks" in the "Open With" window.
Any suggestions? I'm using Windows XP SP2.

That's what I thought. I tried the folder options association trick at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2864550#2864550, which kind of worked. Now, when I double-click on an InDesign file icon, InDesign CS4 opens, but the file does NOT open. Looks like I'll have to reinstall, unless someone has an addition to the solution.

Adobe Illustrator Won't Open

I installed Adobe Illustrator CS4 and it won't open. I tried deleting all the Adobe preference files and it still didn't work. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program and it still didn't work. Any ideas?

XP Pro on computer won't open Blackberry Desktop software

I have been unable to synch my BlackberryTour with Outlook 2010. We run XP Pro as an operating system on the computer in question. Various versions of the Blackberry Desktop software haven't helped. Either they will open the BB Desktop Software (Version 5.0) but won't synch to Outlook 2010, or the BB software loads apparently successfully, but won't open on the computer (Version 7.1). My husband says he tried all the BB desktop versions in between unsuccessfully. Any ideas of what to try?

DW CS4 Won't open

DW CS4 [part of a Master Suite Collection] ... Windows 7 ... won't open without renaming configuration folder as 'old' ... happens everytime, and have to wait while DW loads site cache files. Is there a permanent fix?

If you have to keep remaking a new configuration folder you have 1 of 2 issues. Either a permissions issue or a corrupt user profile. Have you tried making a new user account on the computer? If that works, the simplest solution is just to start using the new profile and bring over other settings as necessary minus the Adobe settings.

I have regularly been using CS4 on Windows7 64 bit but today, it won't open. Windows comes up and says "stopped working" and can't find a solution. Any suggestions?

Do you get any messages on the screen apart from "stopped working". you normally get an error number. Without this, the only solution I can think of is to re-install the package from the disk. You will need your CDs/DVDs and serial number to get this working again.
First try to repair the package by going to the control panel. The screen looks something like this:
You get options to uninstall, Change or Repair and you want Repair.
The above picture is from my Windows 8 machine but your Windows 7 should almost be identical. But you get the ideas.

AE CS4 bounces in the dock and won't open

I already read this other post
but my problem is slightly different: I had installed a trial version of CS4 Master Collection, now I purchased the license so I uninstalled the older version and run the Cleanup Script.
Well, so after the install of the CS4 Master Collection (and also installed all the updates before opening apps), everything works fine but After Effects just bounces in the dock once and then won't open at all.
This is the message in the console:

The curious thing is, if I hit command+shift+G in finder, writing
/Applications/Adobe After Effects CS4/Adobe After Effects CS4.app/Contents/MacOS/
an invisible folder opens under the CS4 app and from there I can run an executable Unix document called After Effects that opens terminal and After Effects application without problems.
What's the explaination for that ?
Please I'm going crazy let me know what can I do to fix this!!

Sounds like your original dock item was linked to the previous installation. Delete it, launch AE from the applications folder, select the item int hte dock and Leave In Dock.
The item in your app folder is not a Unix.exe, it's probably just an unassigned icon. All unassignede itmes look like .exe.
