Loaded FlyTunes Radio Application - Works Great !!!!

Just loaded this app on my ipt - cool radio feature
almost an abbreviated "satellite" radio
reasonable genre selection plus BBC and NPR

I really feel that I shouldn't HAVE to be teaching Nokia software developers to think - but, here we go ....
To add a radio station to the favourite station list you have to tap the station from the list which then highlights it, and then tap a button at the bottom to either Add or Remove it from your favourites list. (this single button conveniently changes - if the station is already a favourite you can, of course, only remove it, so it says Remove - and if it isn't a favourite then this button says, of course, Add). Now that is 2 taps. What is wrong with each tap on a station on the list changing the choice for that station - if it already is a favourite, then it is Removed, if it is not a favourite then it is Added. One tap. This is a touch screen - if I tap something then presumably I wanted to do something with it - as it is already a favourite, goodness gracious, I probably want to remove it - WHY MAKE ME PRESS A BUTTON SAYING REMOVE? Even if I make a mistake, and accidentally tap the wrong one, another tap and it is reversed.
It seems that in every application the philosophy of Nokia developers is "why use one tap where two, three or even more can be designed in" - have they never heard of KISS - keep it simple, stupid! No wonder Nokia UI and software is getting pilloried by the media generally - even new applications cannot be written intelligently.

Why don't you try any another software for opening CSV files then Notepad ? According to my experience, you can use these softwares to open an CSV files and they are:-
Microsoft Excel
Open Office Calc
Google Docs
Also there is an additional tool available known as CSV viewer. You may try this, download it from here http://www.csvviewer.com/
I've never used Notepad for opening CSV files, because sometimes it contains some symbols which are not not at all compatibile with Notepad.

Oracle Applications 11i Load Balancing does not work with RAC one Node

Hi all,
Could you help me to resolve this issue.
Architecture environment is :
- One APPS tier node
- Two nodes Oracle Database Appliance (Primary node 1 holds INSTANCE_1 et Secondary node is configurured to holds INSTANCE_2), i.e RAC one Node.
- The primary node have instance_name SIGM_1 and the secondary node have instance_name SIGM_2, but in RAC one node, the secondary instance is not alive.
We convert our EBS 11i environment to RAC following note ID Using Oracle 11g Release 2 Real Application Clusters with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i [ID 823586.1].
When testing Database failover, Oracle Applications 11i load balancing does not work anymore.
The root cause is that, when the primary node of the Rac one node is down, the INSTANCE_NAME_1 is automaically relocating to the surviving node,.
During test failover, we imagine that when the primary node goes down, the secondary node start or relocate database with instance_name SIGM_2, and in that case the Oracle Applications load balancing works.
Currently, when the primary node goes down, the instance_name SIGM_1 is relocated on the secondary node, which cause failure of Oracle Applications Load Balancing.

This is something I observed a long time ago for Safari (ie: around version 1). I'm not sure this is Safari, per se, but OpenSSL that is responsible for the behavior. I'm pretty sure Chrome does this and I've seen some Linux browsers do it.
What I have done at the last two companies I've worked for is recommend that our clients do not use SSL SessionID as the way of tracking sticky sessions on web servers, but instead using IP address. This works in nearly all cases and has few downsides. The other solution is to use some sort of session sharing on your web servers to mitigate the issue (which also means that your web servers aren't a point of failure for your users' sessions). (One of the products I supported had no session information stored on the web servers, so we could safely round-robin requests, the other product could be implemented with a Session State Server... but in most cases we just used IP address to load balance with). The other solution is to configure your load balancer to terminate the SSL tunnel. You get some other benefits from this, such as allowing your load balancer to reduce the number of actual connections to the web servers. I've seen many devices setup this way.
One thing to consider through this is that - due to the way internet standards work - this really can't be termed a bug on anyone's part. There is no guarantee in the SSL/TLS standards that a client will return the same SSL Session ID for each request and there is not requirement that subsequent requests will even use the same tunnel. Remember, HTTP is a stateless protocol. Each request is considered a new request by the web server and everything else is just trickery to try and get it to work the way you want. You can be annoyed at Safari's behavior, but it's been this way for over 5 years by my count, so I don't expect it to change.

I just spoke with Tesco technical support (having been transferred to them by Clubcard support), who told me that the problems people are experiencing when visiting the Tesco site via Safari aren't currently being addressed because "not enough people have called to complain about it".
I asked what percentage of people he thought might make the effort to call instead of just giving up. He replied that he would be one of those who just gave up.
So it would seem that if we would like the problem to be resolved, we each need to take a few moments to CALL TESCO and ensure our complaint is logged by the technical support team.

Am agree with the guys, i just add the beejive application on my iphone and it just works great, it has a great interface and good looking, just like on ur computer, but the only thing that still missing is the profile pic, it doesn't have that feature yet. Just go to www.beejive.com and u'll see, and the best of it, is free for iphone.

I have had my ipad in Mexico for 3 weeks. For the first two weeks it worked great. Suddenly I can't access my itunes, my ibooks, facetime, etc. At first I thought the problem was with items I was trying to purchase but it is more than that. Ideas???

As i stated initially, everything worked great for two weeks. The first problem I noticed was not being able to open Itunes. It would seem to load, click to a blank screen, and then go back to my icon page. The problem has spread to include anything that I want to browse and purchase, such as apps. Last night I found I could not use facetime either. Also I cannot use my NPR app. It downloads but when I touch an article I would like to read, the screen goes black and then returns to my original icon page.Not knowing what anything has to do with the problem, I have noticed that there are several apps that are in the process of being updated but will NOT update: Pinball Wizard, ibooks, Where's My Water, The Daily, and Pandora Radio. I am in Morelia, Mexico. We have a good internet provider. That does not seem to be the problem. When I purchased my Ipad, I was told that it was usable internationally. Is that the problem? Any suggestions or advice? All will be appreciated. Thanks!

The fix for loading web pages-What works for me.

Ever since I went to Tiger I have had problems with Safari and any other browser while at work on my dsl connection. I knew it was not the connection because my G4 with 9.2.2 would work. At home on cable Tiger worked fine. What I found out is that the router/server combination my ip used were Sisco and for some reason Tiger does not work well with them. I asked a programmer familiar with linux to help me and he gave me some code to type into terminal and guess what it works great!... almost! Every time I start Safari I have to enter the code and all is fine. Here is the code
sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.rfc1323=0
See if it works for you and let me know. You will find terminal in Applications/Utilities just copy the code and paste if you want. I had problems before just getting web sites like ups.com to load or even google search pages to load.

N8 Dab Radio Application

I have just got the Nokia DAB radio, and downloaded the DAB radio app from the Ovi Store. Everything works fine, apart from Nokia using about 75% of the screen for the word DAB and still using the menu structure to control functionality rather than populating the screen real estate with useful buttons to allow things to happen with one click rather than having to go through the normal multiple-press menu functions.
As this app is ONLY available for compatible phones - touch-screen devices - why, oh why did they not, for instance put a pile of buttons on the screen instead of having 75% of the space wasted - say 4 buttons to switch between your 4 most used radio stations (which could even optionally be populated over time like Bots does with Contacts, by learning which stations you play most often) - another button to bring up the full channel list, another button to pull up you favourites list, etc. etc.
In addition there is no 'sleep' function, a major omission for any radio application these days.
Does anyone know of an application that is compatible with the N8 that is capable of closing a named application after a set period of time. If I could close the DAB app after say an hour, automatically, then that would function as a sleep timer.
Apart from these gripes, I have to say that the kit works fine and reception is great - excellently engineered bit of kit, as always from Nokia - just a shame the associated software is badly designed, a pain to use, and lacking essential functionality if they had reallt thought about it. It is the sort of app I would have expected to be suitable for my N95 but falls way short of what should be coming out for the newer Symbian^3 devices. This is now a HIGHLY competitive marketplace and the quality of Nokia's own applications leaves a lot to be desired - even for a lifetime Nokia fan like me - it is now 2011 Nokia - get serious and develop an attitude of excellence with the software/apps - not one of stunning mediocrity - or fall by the wayside!

2.1 Works great!

Hello since this is my first post i am just going to say hello!
I have a 8GB Iphone on the Rogers network in Canada and the 2.1 Update has done wonders to my phone i live kinda out in the sticks but am 5 minutes away from 3G Before i would get 2 to 3 bars in that area now its full the contacts load allot faster and the typing has no more lag the phone was working great before but is now even better!
I still do wish they would of made it so texting could use the landscape feature but other then that this update has made the phone 100% more reliable.
I was thinking about skipping the update because of all the topics and bad experience but i took the leap and could not be more happy! Great job apple

My honest and true experiences with 2.1:
-Seems faster, although there is a noticeably small lag that occurs between touching the application and when it actually opens
-More stable in many more areas than before, applications crashed a lot less
-iPod has new option of displaying the albums under the songs which is a nice touch and use of space
-For me, battery life was dreaful
Before 2.1: iPhone on sleep for 12 hours usually got me at least 95% battery life
On 2.1 update: iPhone on sleep for 12 hours drained down to only 35% full...
Nothing has changed in settings, battery made worse for me.
-The Settings app reduced in time in opening
What usually took 8 seconds to load up has dropped to about 4 seconds on average.

LocalConnection issues- works great and then fails

I'm having trouble with LocalConnection. I'm using it to have a button in the main swf file control another sub swf file.
This is my AS2 in the main swf:

Basically I'm telling the button in main to load a movie in the sub swf with about_btn and then go to frame 2 in the main swf, then when they hit the other button, it loads a different movie and goes back to frame 1 in the main swf file. The sub swf is basically empty with a holder movie in it and this AS2:

The two movies buenosaires_text.swf and empty.swf have content but no actionscript. Also- it might be worth noting that I have 4 pages on the site that have this action taking place, but they are 4 separate html pages that house the swfs.
It worked great, and then became unstable as it was tested more and more, it would work and then the user would navigate back to it and try the buttons again and they wouldn't work. All is remedied when the browser is refreshed, but you can't put a disclaimer on a site to have the user refresh every time it stops working. (this site has been tested on 2 different servers and locally all with the same outcome)
Any help would be greatly appreciated... I've been killing myself over this and my inability to figure out what is wrong with my apparently possessed script.
