Loaded iWork08 on new MacBook Air, won't accept my family pack SN

Question

I purchased the new MacBook Air 13" basic model, loaded the iWork 08 by establishing a link with one of my iMacs, sharing the drive. The programs were successfully installed, the icons were added to my dock, and all was well. When I entered the serial number upon launching the programs, my serial number is declared invalid, and I was invited to purchase a current serial number. I purchased the family pack and have installed it on two or three iMacs, which should leave me a couple of installs.
Any Ideas what I should do next?
It is good to know you experts on everything Apple are out there to help when needed, I only wish I knew enough to help you sometimes.

Yvan, thanks so much for your response. iWorks was the first program I added onto my MBA. I used the install disc in my iMac, and everthing seemed to appear install fine, just like I remember installing the iWorks on that iMac. I used a prceedure that I got from a forum on MacRumors.
I followed the same protocol installing Office:Mac 2008, and entered on of my serial number, and those programs are working well.
A lot of applications put their components in a single area : the Applications folder.
iWork (without a final s) behave differently.
The three apps themselves must be stored in a single subfolder of the Applications folder and some files are stored in the folder which I described.
This scheme is interesting for users with several user accounts if some have iWork installed in the account and others haven't.
The files stored in the described folder may be used by every accounts storing iWork.
Few files are shared this way in iWork '08.
Many files are shared this way in iWork '09 and I guess that they will be more numerous in the next version.
