Loaded latest vewrsion, now it takes 20 to 30 seconds to connect. Also get Script: chrome://vidbar/content/db.js:312

I loaded the latest version and it takes 20 or more seconds to connect to any site. I have win 7 and fast speed. This started when I did the upgrade. When I use explore it pops right up.
I do not have chrome but I get this error message every time I use fire fox. "Script: chrome://vidbar/content/db.js:312" This just started happening the past week.

Disable "AVG Safe" extension, it was installed by AVG Free , to actually uninstall the extension you would need to reinstall AVG Free without the Link Scanner component as described in Problematic extensions.

  • My BetterPrivacy addon now Freezes firefox, causing a "Script: chrome//bp/content/bp.js:847" unresponsive notification. I'm still running Ff 3.6, and want to keep BetterPrivacy, but I have to disable it now. It worked just fine until recently.

I have to click on "Stop unresponsive script" to get Firefox to load, and then have to disable BetterPrivacy in order to use Ff normally. I haven't changed Ff or BetterPrivacy lately, to the best of my knowledge, but I can't use the BP add-on any longer.
Just in case, I also deleted my Chrome browser, which I had as a stand-by, but it didn't help. I still get "A script on this page is unresponsive: Script: chrome//bp/content/bp.js:847". Any ideas?
I'm not certain which version of BP I had when this problem started, but today I tried adding the latest version, 1.49, but still had same trouble.
Your "educated guess" is correct - Ff 3.616 and Vista.

I turned off the accelrator months ago. That was the first thing I did. It helped some. The problem is getting progressively worse, so it seems like every upgrade in the past 3-4 months is causing the problem.

  • My macbook pro takes 5-10 seconds to connect to my wifi

when I gear up my computer or when I click on my safari, it takes 5-10 seconds to hook up to my wifi
    anybody have any ideas why

Can't vouch for your setup, unknown to me, but I see my MBP take about 3-5 seconds to renegotiate its association to my home's encrypted Wi-Fi ADSL router, whereas the unencrypted base station at work completes the process much faster. I have Personal WPA2 encryption with a 128bit key and this has a direct bearing on the process.
Since the neighbor had the vice of hooking up to my router prior to my enabling heavy duty protection, the time the Mac takes to reconnect is a necessary and unavoidable evil.

  • I upgraded to Mtn. Lion last night but now it takes forever to boot up.  I get to the desktop and my wallpaper is there, but the items on my desktop take more than 5 minutes to load.  It's a ridiculously long time.  Can I fix it somehow?

As I said, I upgraded my MacBook Pro (2011) from Lion to Mountain Lion last night.  This morning I couldn't get it to boot up at all.  The beach ball just spun and spun.  Now I can get it to my desktop and can see my wallpaper, but it takes another FULL five minutes to finish loading my desktop items.  Can I do anything to speed this up?  It's a ridiculously long time to wait.  I haven't even tried opening any applications yet.

  • TS3623 Why is it when I rent a movie from Apple it takes all night to load & then when I try to play it has to load again? Netflix just takes a few seconds to load & play In the same [Apple ] device !

Why is it when I rent a movie from Apple it takes all night to load & when I try to play it starts to load again for a while before it plays ? Netflix loads & plays in seconds [ usually] in the same device!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
One of the main reasons this occurs is because Netflix uses a feature called adaptive quality and iTunes uses a fixed quality. Netflix is able to reduce its quality to such an extent when it detects that you have a poor Internet connection that the data rate of the movie is as low as 0.5 Mb per second, on the other hand if you have chosen to view an HD movie from iTunes U have chosen a movie with a data rate as high as 5 Mb per second.

  • Very slow and I get this error message a lot: A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:927

I get this message a lot on starting up Firefox and it also comes at times while I am in the midst of an internet session. Firefox starts very, very slowly just before this message surfaces (10 to 15 minutes before I get the opening page). Is this a problem with MS chrome or with Firefox and what can I do about it?
Whether I choose "stop script right now" or "continue" , the problem stays with me. I have tried to restart my computer but this often does not work either. Whether I use Firefox 3.6... or 4.0 beta, I get the problem.
I thought it might be a problem with Sync and I removed this add-on. Still have problem. I also just downloaded McAfee internet security software and I got a message that something called "Radial Point" would interfere with the operation of McAfee. But I cannot find any program or any file in general titled "Radial Point". I have never heard of this before. So, of course, I could not remove this program. Would this be part of my problem?
I have also had a lot of trouble with internet connection on my AT&T dsl service ("high speed internet" they call it). Could it be a connectivity problem and has this anything to do with Firefox? Some of my AT&T problem was solved when the 4th tech to visit my apartment noticed that I had a "2 line filter" and I have only one phone line and one phone jack. But I still get some loss of connectivity after the latest help from AT&T.
Thank you for any help you can offer me.

  • When opening FF I'm getting a script error "A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: chrome://tavgp/content/libs/include.js:301"

This started happening after an automatic update to FF. I stop the script and FF opens. I've also lost the Roboform toolbar.

    http://www.roboform.com/support/news <br />
Install Roboform v7.5.0 for Firefox 7 compatibility.
That script message is related to an AVG add-on, or an add-on which is using code from an AVG add-on. <br />

This has been happening continuously for the last few days. Firefox then becomes unresponsive for 5-10 minutes or crashes. It's a real hassle.

  • Thunderbird takes 30 seconds to startup with Unresponsive Script citing mailWindow.js. 6-8 IMAP accounts, mainly gmail.

I have Thunderbird 31.1.2, on my Windows 8.1.
I have about 6-8 IMAP accounts, mainly from gmail.
Thunderbird has always opened within a second or 2 when I click on it. Then all of a sudden it started taking 30 seconds to open.
The main toolbar at the top will appear, with the folders on the left. The main viewing window stays blank and Thunderbird remain unresponsive for 30 seconds. Then everything loads fine.
I couldn't bother to figure out the problem so I lived with it for a few months.
Now the same thing has happened with my Thunderbird on my Windows 7 installation, opening the same IMAP accounts. Just that the Windows 7 installation gives this error after the 30 seconds:
"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
    Script: chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:174"
So now that I have 2 Thunderbirds taking so long to open, I have to find a solution.
    Can anyone assist? Thanks

I wouldn't expect the size of the mail files to be a problem in the first place. However, are you accumulating messages in Inbox? If so, move them to a different folder.

I keep getting script errors when accessing Amazon Seller merchant pages. I get the following A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete. Script: chrome://spautofill/content/spOverlay.js:150, I also get js210 as well. I have cleared all cookies and history and unistalled Firefaox and reinstalled. Been thru my AVS and set the site as trusted in every possible place. Still get the problem. Do not get it with IE on same PC.
== URL of affected sites ==

Same problem but with a different vendor site:
    https://www.webvitamins.com/myfavorites.aspx
Not only does the page hang, but the other tabs also hang.
I contacted the vendor and their reply was "we were told that this looks like a script that is used by "Sticky Password", third-party software that must have been installed on your browser. However, our website did not install it and does not have anything to do with it." As far as I can tell, "Sticky Password" is not installed on my Firefox.
Same problem as above occurs, but with IE 8.0.6001.18702. Therefore, it is not unique to Firefox.
CAUSE DETERMINED: Have determined that this problem only occurs when Kaspersky Password Manager is installed. In Firefox, if the "Password Manager Autofill Engine" add-on is disabled, the problem goes away.
