911!! i loaded accidentally, not sure how, my husbands contacts onto my iphone
any easy suggestions on how to clean up this mess?? obviously both of us are on iphones

Do not change or delete a contact in the contacts app! Just go to "Settings > iCloud" scroll down and then delete his account from the device.

We both use the same email address which is linked to our itunes account (ithink) I registered mine yesterday and all my husbands contacts came on to my phone, so i deleted them and he lost them all on his phone :-( now if he adds or deletes anything i get it or the other way round please please helpIf you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted. The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync. You need to use different IDs. You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps. But use different icloud IDs.

i just got the iphone 4 and my husband already had on. we share an itunes account and i signed up for i cloud and now ALL of my husbands contacts are on my phone ... so I started to delete them (because i thought it would just be off my phone) and he called screaming ..." please stop deleting ... they are coming off my phone!" so two things ... how can i get the contacts back ( i got up to j) AND is there a way to get them off just my phone
Unfortunately there's no way to get back the contacts you deleted unless he backed them up somewhere else. He'll just have to recreate them. This happened because you are both syncing contacts with a shared iCloud account. When you do this, the synced data is merged and any actions you take on one phone (such as deleting contacts) is also reflected on the other. To fix this you both need to have separate iCloud accounts (you can continue to share the same Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and app stores). To do this, on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone. After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud. The other phone will not be effected by this.) Next, set up a new iCloud account on your phone using a different Apple ID and turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload your data to your new account. At this point you will have two different iCloud accounts, one for each phone, with identical data on them.
You will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the unwanted data (such as deleting the your husband's contacts from your account, and vice versa). These changes will be reflected on each phone. When finished you will have individual iCloud accounts with just your own data on them. -
We have a mac book and my husband used the Iphone 3g. he has bought a new iphone 3gs and also syns with the same mac book. I have taken over the old iphone 3g and tried to syn to the same itune however my own contacts have been over written by my husbands contact.

If so, the first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes for the first time that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or eyeless device to the iPhone or set up the iPhone as a new iPhone. How do I load extracted contacts to my iPhone?
I load all my personal contacts because ones at work were sync'ed to my iPhone 5s. I bought a program from iPubsoft to extract contacts from my iPhone. I put the extract file into an html file. How can I load this structure .html file back to my iPhone? I can't bring it into iTunes, or can I. I can't figure out how to turn it into an Outlook or Windows file with which I could sync. It has about 10 lines per contact so when I make it a .CSV file it does load import one contact per line (because there are 10 lines per contact). Does anyone know how to load this iPubsoft .html file back to my iPhone contacts?

I ended up using "Backuptrans iTunes Backup Extractor" to recover them.
Wish I would have done that before reverting back via iTunes to an earlier backup version. I didn't lose much but the final solution for my contacts would have allowed me to lose nothing. -

Yes, you can go apply for a new AppleID, which would be <your account>@icloud.com.
Then put this new AppleID into the icloud account field.
After this action, you will not be seeing the same contacts and appointments.
But for the itunes store, you still can use the same AppleID so that you can share purchases.
My wife and I use separate icloud accounts, and then we use a 3rd appleid for our itunes store. This allowed us to have separate contacts but still share itune purchases. -
It is difficult, to organize my contacts on my iPhone.
It is easy to do this on my iMac addressbok.
So why can't I load my well organized contacts from my iMac (addressbock) on my iPhone and overwrihte my disorganized contacts on my iPhone?Read the User's Guide, it will reduce the number of questions you ask which reveal to the world your intelligence or lack there of.

You synced your iPhone with iTunes for the first time after how long?
And this didn't happen by syncing only. This means you transferred the backup for another iPhone or you restored the iPhone with iTunes. It is not possible for everything to be lost by syncing alone. All iTunes content on your iPhone can be lost but not any photos in the Camera Roll and the same for contacts unless you synced contacts with an empty address book application on your computer. -
How do i remove my wife's iphone contacts from my iphone?

So I recently bought an imac to make things easier instead of our old pc. but in the process of setting it up, i imported all my contacts from my iphone and ipad onto the icloud and as a result, they appeared in my husband's iphone - he had around 100 contacts, and now has around 3,000 with mine too. I am now in serious trouble with my husband as he cannot find his own small contacts quickly. How can i remove my contacts from his phone? and will he lose all his contacts if he deletes them all from his phone?

How can I remove all my outlook contacts from my iphone contacts
Well, Thats was the first time I`ve used Icloud, so I don`t have much experience, and I just active Icloud on my devices and I dont know why all my outlook contacts went to my iphone contacts. How can I remove it on a easy way otherwise I would delete them one by one and that wont be nice, because are too many.

PedroDepending how many contacts you started with and where they were from? were they on your sim card before? to remove ALL contact from an iPhone go to iTunes / info un-tick Sync Contacts and change Outlook to another addrss book that has nothing stored in it (ie. empty) sync your phone with that and that will leave your phone with no contacts. Next look for the backup where you had your previous contacts loaded (group) and re sync it to put them back. Chech iTunes when you plug in your phone that it doesn't sync immediately when you plug it in to eliminate future problems.

Syncing issues with Outlook when I add a contact to my iphone
I'm using the icloud to sync my calendar and contacts to my iphones and Outlook. Everything seems to be working perfect except one thing. When I add a contact to my phone it will not show up on my husbands phone or Outlook. I have checked my defaults and it apears to be se correctly. Can anyone please help?
Hmmmm....But even when I do that, the two playlists go into the general music file and mix together. So I don't understand the point of a playlist if it all just gets thrown into the general mix. Seems like if you create a playlist, it should be separate--otherwise, what's the point? Or maybe I'm missing the point. Sigh...

Replaced contacts on my iphone by mistake. Can I recover my old list?
Hi all! Last night I bought a new iphone 5 and gave my old iphone 4 to my husband. At the store they transferred my contacts to the new phone and his contacts to his iphone 4. At home I realized I hadn't done a full backup of my old phone but wasn't worried beacuse I has been synching frequently. I thought I had unchecked the contacts from the itunes back up and went ahead and did a back up of the old phone so I could get back the txt messages and everything else except the contacts since my husband's were now in that old phone...I only wanted the rest of the data that was still there. Since I had my contacts in my new phone I thought I was fine. Ejected the old phone and plug the new and restored from back up. All data I wanted was on my new phone but my husband's contacts too. My contacts gone! Is there anyway I can get those contacts back??? Help!
There is no option to include or not include contacts with the iPhone's backup. There is an option to include or not include syncing contacts with a supported address book app on your computer, which is separate from the iPhone's backup.
When you updated the backup for the old iPhone, this included his contacts. You transferred the backup for the old iPhone to your new iPhone and contacts are included with the backup with no way to exclude contacts.
Your contacts should be available in the Address Book app on your Mac. You can replace the contacts on your iPhone with your contacts available in the Address Book on your Mac. Under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, there is an option to replace data on the iPhone with Contacts, Calendar events, etc. Select Contacts followed by a sync. This will replace all contacts on your iPhone with all contacts in the Address Book app on your Mac.
