LoadFromXML(XMLstream) from a dynamic plugin
I am trying to get an xml file to load from a .jar file. The complication is the following code is run inside a plugin that is called from the source program. I have tried this code in a stand alone program and it seems to work fine, however when I port it back over to the plugin source It doesn't work. I may be off but I think the issue has something to do with being called as a plugin and how that works with the .getResourceAsStream() method call.
Note: IJ.error just pulls up an error box window with some data. I am using NB 6.5 and haven't figured out how to get stops to work in dynamic plugins so I use the error messages as a crutch.
try{
InputStream XMLstream = getClass().getResourceAsStream("config/ABConfig.xml");
if (XMLstream == null) {
IJ.error("File not found");
//not sure after this point------------------->
properties.loadFromXML(XMLstream);
//XMLstream.close();
//the folloing IJ.errror call doesn't run------------------->
IJ.error("you passed the loadFromXML statement"); //-sh debug
catch (IOException exception){}and my XML file:

<ActionBarConfig>

automatic
<icon>auto.GIF</icon>
<action></action>
<arg></arg>

manual
<icon>manu.GIF</icon>
<action></action>
<arg></arg>

</ActionBarConfig>Any help is greatly appreciated.
Seth
It seems the error had nothing to do with dynamic plugins and more to do with the syntax requriements for properties.loadfromxml(). I changed my xml document to:

<properties>

auto

auto.gif

</properties>and it worked beautifully.

Tip: Loading dynamic plugins locally
One of the questions we've heard on a number of occasions is "why can't I load a dynamic plugin locally?" For a while I assumed this was related to Flash Player security, but I finally got around to looking into this yesterday, and realized that this was due to a bug in our code. So if you sync to the latest in public trunk, then it should be possible to run a player app locally, and have that app load a dynamic plugin locally, provided that the plugin is specified with a "file:" prefix. For example, if you run the AkamaiPluginSample, you can paste the following URL into the "URL" box (assuming that this is the path to the compiled plugin on your system):
file:///C:/Dev/osmf/public/trunk/plugins/SMILPlugin/bin-debug/SMILPlugin.swf
This should make plugin development/debugging a bit easier, as you won't have to post the plugin to a server after every change (or run from localhost).Great. I think it would be flexible to be able to specify the application domain that the player wants to load the plugin into. Similar to the way you can specify whether or not to use the current security domain. We have a swc-swf model where the player has a small api swc integrated and all the logic is loaded at runtime from the swf. Loading into the same application domain allows us to share typed class instances between the player, swc and swf rather than passing them around as raw objects.

Is it possible to enable DOM events from a dynamically inserted QuickTime?
QuickTime in IE uses an as a 'behaviour' template in order to enable DOM events. The behaviour is referenced from the QuickTime plugin instance with IE's behavior style: style="behavior: url(#idof_behaviorobject)".
This works great for all QuickTime instances declared before window.onload, but QuickTime instances inserted into the DOM after that do not pick up the DOM events behaviour.
I do not know exactly how behaviour styles work and what I've read so far hasn't made me any the wiser. Are behaviours called on elements that reference them, only on page load, and therefore can't be picked up later?
Are there any known workarounds for enabling DOM events from QuickTime objects inserted after page load?
Just so you know - I've tried various methods of DOM insertion - innerHTML, createElement, and calling iframes with their own html page containing the necessary objects. None of these work for enabling DOM events on insertion after page load.
( P.S. I've cross-posted this question on stackoverflow here:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1336678/is-it-possible-to-enable-dom-events-f rom-a-dynamically-inserted-quicktime-object
If I get a working answer I'll copy it across. )
Cheers!
Stephen.I found forwarding the impl_processMouseEvent kind of works ... except when the graphics of the transparent child window floats over the owner window's chrome elements - in particular the title bar, minimise/maximise and resized borders won't accept forwarded mouse events this way.
Not true mouse transparency. -
Logic for retreiving the values from a dynamic internal table
Hi all,
I have an issue with the logic to fetch data from a dynamic internal table into fields. let me give you guys an example the sy-tfill = 9 (subject to vary). I need to populate the fields.
Regards,
SukumarHi,
this is for printing out the info in a dynamic table,
it will work likewise to insert data.

FIELD-SYMBOLS:
<fs> TYPE STANDARD TABLE,
<wa_comp> TYPE fieldname,

<wa_field> TYPE ANY.
REFRESH lt_fieldname.
SELECT * FROM dd03l INTO ls_dd03l
WHERE as4local = 'A'
AND as4vers = '0000'
AND tabname = p_tabnam

ls_fieldname = ls_dd03l-fieldname.
APPEND ls_fieldname TO lt_fieldname.

Retrieve data from a dynamic page via loadURL
Hello.
I would like to ask you how it is possible to retrieve data
from a dynamic page (asp classic in my case) using the loadURL
method.
I would like to create an html authentication form (with
username and password fields). The loadURL method should call an
asp page and then pass to the usual function 'DoIfSucceded' the
results of the elaboration.
Of course I'm going to have a switch in the function in order
to make different actions depending from the results of the asp
page (authentication succeded or failed).
I had a look to the examples at this page:
Adobe
samples
Is there anyone who can explain clearly how the results data
must be written by the asp page and how the success function can
retrieve them ?
I thank you in advance for your help.loadURL() uses the the XMLHttpRequest Object so if the
content you return is XML, you have 2 choices for accessing your
data. You can either access it as a text string via the
XMLHttpRequest object's responseText property, or as a DOM document
via the XMLHttpRequest object's responseXML property:
function MySuccessCallback(req)
// If my data is XML, I can access the data that was sent
from the server
// as DOM elements via the XMLHttpRequest's responseXML
property.
var xmlDOM = req.xhRequest.responseXML;
// OR, you can access the data sent back from the server as
text via
// the XMLHttpRequest object's responseText property.
var xmlAsAString = req.xhRequest.responseText;
var req = Spry.Utils.loadURL("GET",
"/app/book.php?id=1&code=54321", true, MySuccessCallback);
If your serverside script wants to use some other format as a
response like JSON or plain text, then you can only access the data
as text via the responseText property.

How to transfer data from a dynamic internal table
Hi All
I want to transfer data from a dynamic internal table<dyn_table>
to a non dynamic internal table itab which should have the same structure as <dyn_table>.
How can this be done?
Regards,
Harshit RungtaAs stated earlier this can be done only through field symbols...
You cannot create an non dynamic internal table with ANY structure...using DATA statement
If the strucutre is defined well and good...you can create an non-dynamic internal table...
If you do not know the structure then the internal table has to be dynamic...and to be generated using field symbols
DATA: lv_ref TYPE REF TO data.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_dyn_table> TYPE STANDARD TABLE.
* You create a dynamic internal table...
CREATE DATA lv_ref LIKE (your_dynamic_internal_table).
ASSIGN lv_ref->* TO <fs_dyn_table>.
Now...do the transfer.
<fs_dyn_table> = "your_dynamic_internal_Table
Hope it helps! -
Calling a procedure from a dynamic link
I have the following situation-
I have a report created using SQL Query.
I need to call a Stored Procedure(move_to_portal) through a link from one of the fields in the report (Exec_id field of the report).
How can I do this?
The links do not allow me to choose a stored procedure as the Target component....so maybe I have to create a dynamic link.
How to do this? Any help would be appreciated.I have just another question-
I have a procedure testing_del_archive which is being called with 2 parameters...from a dynamic link in my SQL Query.
The following is my code....
SELECT re.report_exec_id, re.exec_userid,
NVL(re.batch_exec_date, re.begin_date) report_date,
re.rows_returned,
re.status, re.error,
f_file_url(re.filename) file_url,
re.comments,
''Archive''archive
FROM metadev.report_execution re, metadev.report r
WHERE re.report_id = r.report_id
AND r.spec_number = :v_spec
AND re.status <> 'DELETED'
AND re.exec_userid like (DECODE(:v_user_filter,'ALL','%',:v_user_filter))
ORDER BY begin_date DESC
The first parameter is the value in the execution id field and the second argument is hardcoded "Archived"...
IT GIVES AN ERROR....
Do you guys know where I am going wrong... -
Hi All,
I'm trying to debug a crash in Photoshop after returning from a filter plugin.
In the case that the filter plugin has “done nothing” or the user has elected not to save the work, the filter plugin sets the value of *result to be -128 or 2. If the plugin has completed successfully and some work has been saved then *result is of course set to 0.
When *result is set to other than 0, though, Photoshop immediately crashes after the plugin has returned from PluginMain.
The backtrace of the crashed thread is at the bottom of this message.
If I alter our filter code so that *result is set to 0, without any other change having been made, there is no crash, which leaves me a bit stumped. Clearly this isn't appropriate, since it results in the new filter layer being created, which the user doesn't want if the filter was cancelled!
Any suggestions about where to start investigating?
The sample backtrace below occurs immediately after I return from PluginMain (having been passed a selector of 5) having set *result=2, *data=0.

If purchased, I would try to contact the company that made it.
If you are developing, then I would get the original Dissolve (or other) example and make sure it is working correctly with the OK and in the Cancel scenario. If so, then copy that example and start modifying and working your way towards what you now have. You should be able to tell when things go wrong and that would help me figure out your crasher. -

Make it a business case that the files should be stored in specific location(s).
Oracle uses directory objects to point to locations on the file system and, whilst these locations can be altered, it is better practice to set up specific locations and grant permission to the correct users for those locations so that there is full control over who is accessing what on the server. Whilst filenames may be dynamic, I wouldn't recommend using dynamic locations. -
How to upload and overwrite a file from a dynamic list
I need to come up with a way to upload and overwrite and existing image file from a dynamically generated list. For instance, there would be a drop-down select box with Company A, Company B, Company C, etc. and when the user selects one of them it should display a prompt to upload a new logo image file, overwriting the existing logo file. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not sure why you need a prompt. Sounds like an unnecessary annoyance to me.
A simple form with a select and input type="file" should get you started. Then I would probably do something like:
1. upload the file to a temp folder on your server.
2. Rename it according to what company was selected.
3. Move it to it's permanent folder. -
How to delete(remove) one row(record) from a dynamic table
Hi,
I have adynamically created table.
I want to delete 1 record(Row) from that Dynamic table.
Say if my dynamic table contains 5 records(rows);after deletion of 1 record(1 complete row)from that dynamic table,the number of records(rows) should be 4 .
Please suggest me how to proceed.
Please provide me some sample code.Its not working
I tried with these code:-Its not working-->
IPrivateExportexView.IEt_WriteoffNode node=wdContext.nodeEt_Writeoff();
IPrivateExportexView.IEt_WriteoffElement nodeEle= node.createEt_WriteoffElement(new Zfrm_Writeoff_P());
node.removeElement(nodeEle);
Please suggest
Thanks
-SandipHi,
*int n=wdContext.nodeTable().getLeadSelection();*
*wdContext.nodeTable().removeElement(wdContext.nodeTable().getTableElementAt(n));*
Further more , an example is given below for better understanding , do modifications according to your need.
node :
value node - Table (cardinality - 0..n , selection 0..1)
no ( value attribute - string )
name (value attribute - string )
// create node elements
for(int i=0;i<5;i++)
IPrivateClearnodeElements.ITableNode node = wdContext.nodeTable();
IPrivateClearnodeElements.ITableElement ele = node.createTableElement();
ele.setNo((101i)"");
ele.setName("name :"(i1));
node.addElement(ele);
// Apply template Table -- select -- table node or
// create a table UI element and set the property Datasource - Table ( of the context)
Insert Colum , in that column, next insert celleditor , of type text view , bind the property text -- to "name " of Table node of the context
Insert Colum , in that column, next insert celleditor , of type text view , bind the property text -- to "no " of Table node of the context
// create a action "removeElement"
// create a button "Remove Element " --> Event action -- removeElement
// under the action write down the code :

Calling procedure with 2 parameters from a dynamic link
I have just another question-
I have a procedure testing_del_archive which is being called with 2 parameters...from a dynamic link in my SQL Query.
The following is my code....
SELECT re.report_exec_id, re.exec_userid,
NVL(re.batch_exec_date, re.begin_date) report_date,
re.rows_returned,
re.status, re.error,
f_file_url(re.filename) file_url,
re.comments,
''Archive''archive
FROM metadev.report_execution re, metadev.report r
WHERE re.report_id = r.report_id
AND r.spec_number = :v_spec
AND re.status <> 'DELETED'
AND re.exec_userid like (DECODE(:v_user_filter,'ALL','%',:v_user_filter))
ORDER BY begin_date DESC
The first parameter is the value in the execution id field and the second argument is hardcoded "Archived"...
IT GIVES AN ERROR....
Do you guys know where I am going wrong...You missed the ampersand symbol in between the parameters.
This should be
''Archive''archive
instead of
''Archive''archive -
Looking for a solution or service to export data from a dynamic form into a database
As the title of this discussion states, I'm looking for a solution or service to export data from a dynamic form into a database to be used for reporting. Creating the dynamic form is not a problem, it's getting it into a database that's more of a nuisance. A dynamic form is needed in order to provide skip logic, hide/reveal, and other similar dynamic features.
The database hasn't been created, so just looking for the easiest, more effective and dependable solution. The key is being able to run reports off the data later.So i set up 2 residential grade routers to test this out. Seems to be working okayish. I believe with directional antenae routers I should achieve what I need.
As for security I configured each device separately. I set them so only allow the MAC address of the other through wireless. This seems to be the best system for me. Once they are connected even if a MAC is spoofed of the other router it drops automatically because they are always connected. My wired devices get plugged in and recieve an IP from my main network.
There more testing to be done, but it seems to be working.
Thanks for your input and suggestions guys. I will be marking this topic as answered. -
How to filter results from 4 dynamic list menus depandant on how many of them are selected
I have a search page with a form with 4 list menus and 1 submit that post the results to the results page. I can create a record set that either retrieves the correct data from my database if a selection is made from all four menus Or i can create the recordset if only 3 menus have a selection or the same for 2 menus and 1 menu. However i want the user to be able to make a selection from either 1, 2, 3 or all 4 of the menus and the exact data be retrieved. At present if i try to combine the recordset using AND and ORs the results are not specific enough, for example the 4 menus are Location, Type, Price & Style if a user selects from all 4 i only want to retrieve data that matches all 4 criteria, but at the same time if the user selects only 2 of the menus the i want it to retrieve data that matches specifically those 2 variables. I´m not actually sure if i should be creating a more advanced sql query of if its the php side of things that i need to look at. This is my first dynamic site so please be aware i´m still a learner where php and sql is concerned. Please can anyone help?
Hey there,
Thanks for replying,
I too am using Dreamweaver recordset, my local server is XAMPP ( apache php mysql), i´have pasted my sql recordset below to give an idea of what i´m trying to do, however this does not work as i´m trying to select the exact data based on 4 menus PRICE TYPE LOCATION and BEDS, and also want the search to work if the user only selects options from either 1, 2, 3 or 4 of the menus, with the code as it is if the user select only two options from 2 of the menus the results don´t just find (for example) all results for location AND price they find all results for the location varibale OR the price variable rather than a match for both, if you see what i mean?
Any suggestions?
SELECT trueprice,`desc`, `propid`, `bathrooms`, `photo1`, locationtable.loc, typetable.style, bedtable.`number`
FROM detailstable JOIN locationtable ON detailstable.location=locationtable.locid JOIN typetable ON detailstable.type=typetable.typeid JOIN pricetable ON detailstable.price=pricetable.priceid JOIN bedtable ON detailstable.beds=bedtable.bedid
WHERE (location=varloc AND price = varprice AND type=vartype AND beds=varbed ) OR (price=varprice AND location=varloc AND type=vartype) OR (price=varprice AND location=varloc AND beds=varbed) OR (price=varprice AND beds=varbed AND type=vartype) OR ( location=varloc AND type=vartype AND beds=varbed) OR (price=varprice AND location=varloc) OR (price=varprice AND type=vartype) OR (price=varprice AND beds=varbed) OR (type=vartype AND location=varloc) OR (type=vartype AND beds=beds) OR (location=varloc AND beds=varbed) OR (price = varprice OR beds=varbed OR type=vartype OR location=varloc)
ORDER BY detailstable.trueprice ASC
Look forward to receiving your thoughts,

Subject: how to filter results from 4 dynamic list menus depandant on how many of them are selected
Hiya,
I'm just doing my first dynamic site too, and am at a similar level to yourself.
Can you give us more info re the site. What software, eg Dreamweaver etc are you using, and is your server using PHP or ASP etc?
For what I've used, I amended the SQL side of things in the recordset in Dreamweaver. That way, you can test the SQL as you're setting up the recordset.
Let me know how you're going on anyway
Cheers

Call a Automatic Row Fetch from a Dynamic Action
Hi,
can I execute the Automatic Row Fetch from a dynamic action?
I only found this post (Dynamic Actions to call Automatic Row Processing (DML) but the link where the solution is does not work :(
Thanks,

I forgot to say, for several reasons, I don't want to submit the page. So that's where I find the complexity in calling the ARf.
Thanks.You cannot fire the ARF because it is designed to run when the page is rendered and it cannot be called as a standalone
Create a dynamic action as follows to fetch the form detials
Action: Execute PL/SQL Code
PL/SQL Code:
begin
select ename, job, mgr, hiredate, sal
into :P4_ENAME, :P4_JOB, :P4_MGR, :P4_HIREDATE, :P4_SAL
from emp
where empno = :P4_EMPNO;
exception
when others then
null;
end;
Page Items to Submit: P4_EMPNO
Page Items to Return: P4_ENAME,P4_JOB,P4_MGR,P4_HIREDATE,P4_SAL
See this working example: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=32940:4
Login as test/test
If you want to make it more dynamic you can query the APEX metadata to find the form items on your current page
select * from apex_application_page_db_items
where page_id =:APP_PAGE_ID
and application_id = :APP_ID;
