Loading a cd to i-tunes

Hello,this is a simple process except that i-tunes seems to put the songs i load from a cd all over the place.all i want to do is put cds into their own file or page so i can easily access these cds when i need to.all i need is for the program to load the cd in its own file,not too much to ask,i get doubles of songs spread all over and then it mixes up the order of songs.i have had this program for years and i never have solved this,but now it is at the point of no return,its not worth the trouble if i can't get this simple thing to work,i have gone through the preferences and unclicked everything,i just tried to load a cd into i-tune and it did load it,but to where?ya got me,i want to load it,then burn it from my hard drive to a blank cd,thats it.

I have no problem. iTunes adds/rips tune to your library based on Artist>Album>Song. It is best to let iTunes do the work. In iTunes prefs select Advanced>General> - select the keep and copy options. iTunes will put all the tunes into one place on your HD. If you already have tunes all over the HD then use the 'consolidate' option from the 'Advanced' tab in the iTunes menu bar. Then iTunes will move all to one location. Default is HD>Accounts>User>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music
If you are ripping a bunch of tunes on an album - like a sound track CD that has multiple artist - then select the 'compilation' option when loading the CD.
To locate a tune on the HD - select the tune from the iTunes interface - +R - will 'reveal' where the tune is on the HD.

I had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. The old app will remain on the ipad. Hope this helps, good luck

My I pod 4th generation and when I down load my playlists off I tunes they load in reverse and I can't correct then once they are on my I pod

Since the I tunes up grade I have been unable to get my I pod and I tunes to talk to one another in a consistent positive way as they had in the past. Sometimes when making a play list off of my library it looks fine and in the order I need it to be but when I disconnect my I pod and I go to use it the songs are in the reverse order from what I loaded on to it. Then too sometimes they are fine the first time I call them up on my I pod but if I go in to load another unrelated playlist then nextime I use my I pod the other lists have reversed themselves. I then try to correct the play lists by going back and I tunes won't let me change them or they are changed when I am in I tunes but do not change on the physical I pod even though I did it through the I pod apps. I have tried to reset and it has worked maybe twice correctly but then the same thing happens all over again. Help It wouldn't be so bad if I was just listening to music for enjoyment but I use this I Pod in my exercise classes and beginning with the cool down and stretch music is not a real motivator. Have you tried on another computer to help determine if you have a computer or iPod problem?
You need iTunes 10.7 or later on the computer.
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

- If you backed up the iPod after taking the photos then restoring from backup will recover the photos. To restore from backup see the restoring topic of:

If you restore via iTunes make sure that autosyncing is turned off. Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and check the box that says prevent iPods...".
- Otherwise if the photos ore not on the computer or iPod they are gone uless you can get them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

Why can't i down load a movie from I-tunes using the 3 g wireless network? I have no wi-fi at home power is out.

I need help with downloading movies without having a wi fi connection, during this recent snow storm in CT we have lost power to our house, so no WI FI. I would like to use the 3 G network but it doesn't work to down load I-tune rented movies? I don't understand this. This is why I bought the IPAD to watch movies away from home, or in the home if the pwr goes out.

There is a 20 meg download limit per file over 3G - if the film is larger than that (and unless it's a very short film it most likely will be) then you will need access to a wifi network.

Photos that you sync from your computer can't be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync - so you need to include all the albums that you want to be on your iPad in each photo sync, what you are effectively currently doing is telling iTunes to replace the last synced album with the new one.

If it was a recent purchase you could take it back to the store and return it as "not fit for purpose", then buy a digital version. If it is too late for that I suppose you could try contacting the record company but I doubt they care at this point since they have the money. Can't really go into any possible workarounds without breaching the TOU.

When you say "download," you are referring to your iTunes library syncing to the iPod, correct? Not something downloading from the Interent to your computer...
If you want to use automatic syncing, you need to set it up in iTunes. First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. The iPod appears under DEVICES in the sidebar, when connected.
Select the iPod in the sidebar. The iPod's Summary screen appears to the right. Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary; click on Music next toSummary. This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to your iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music. This setting enables automatic syncing. If your iTunes music library is small enough to fit on the iPod's storage, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library. That syncs everything that is music. Otherwise, choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Then, select (checkmark) what you want on the iPod from the lists below. One convenient way to set this up is to create one or more playlists in your iTunes library, and put ALL of the songs you want on the iPod on those playlists. (Or you can use existing playlists.) Back on the iPod's Music screen, select the playlists under Playlists.
When you click Apply, the songs in your selection(s) sync to the iPod. Going forward, to update songs on the iPod, update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). The iPod does not need to be connected. The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes automatically.

I can't load my music from i-tunes onto my new iphone 5.

I got the new I-phone 5, and I can't seem to get my music library from my PC and I-Tunes onto the phone. I sync it and it says it went but nothing comes over.None of my previous purchases from TV or Music come over either. It just remains blank. Do I unistill I -tunes? I would hate to have RESET the phone again.

Cannot load Garage Band '09 tune into Final Cut Express 4

Just bought FCE 4 and am trying to load a Garage Band '09 tune into it. Receiving a file error. Do I need to convert into some other format before loading into Final Cut Express 4?

Open your music in GarageBand and select Share>Export your song to disk.
You can then choose either "CD Quality" or "Compress".
If you select "Compress" you can alter the format from AAC to mp3, which will work in FCE after a quick render.

I tunes downloads help

Recently I down loaded a movie from I tunes onto my iPad . I took another of my iPads , signed out the existing apple i.d. And signed in my apple I.d. Which was used to purchase the movie and downloaded it on my second iPad. It worked but when I signed out of the iPad and my mom signed back in with her apple i.d. The movie was no to be found. How can she access the movie. FYI , I bought the iPad, and the movie.
What changes should I try.

Tunning Pro*C code

Hi,
I have a pro*c program which reads data from txt file and load this into database. It also have some select sql statements to validate data before loading. I have to tune this pro*c program. The database optimization mode is Cost based i.e. first_rows. I am checking each SQL statement using explain plan in sql*plus.
Pro*c code take time when it perform insert operation. The select statements have realy low cost as they are well tuned. cost is like 2,3,7 ,8 etc..
execution plan for Insert statements shows cost = 90 , 40 , 60 etc.
I couldn't under stand why insertion cost is so much...?
The more data in txt file the more time it takes to load. can some body advice me in this regards?

Hi,
If inserts are taking a lot of time (more time and more cost may not be the same), my primary conclusion is, there are too many indexes on the table you are inserting. Check if that is the case?
If that the case,
a) Check if all those indexes are really required, get rid of any if possible
b) If you are adding data to the same table frequently (like daily or 4 times a day), partition the table and create local index. Also, you can have the partitions for each day, that would help in case of a daily load
c) Check if you can further tune the SELECTs and let the inserts take their time
d) If its not a frequent load, drop some heavy indexes ( with 3 to 8 columns ) before the load and create them after load (or disable them and rebuild). This will make your space usage efficiant also

Error 1606 when installing i-tunes and i-pod updater

Have searched for answers to this problem with no luck so apologies if this is a repeat. I have tried down loading latest version of I Tunes and I pod updater. Neither would install and came up with the following error - error 1606.could not access network location %userprofile%\begin menu\program\startup".
I followed the instructions on the link to the Installer Web site for this Error and edited the registry (states that all entries (as listed) should refer to the correct drive i.e C: but did not show any examples.
All but one registry key was correct. I ammended a string of keys that all had %userprofile%\ as the start.
This allowed me to install ITunes however it would not add the several thousand songs that were alreday on the computer no matter what i did. So I changed the registry back and hey presto there was 4.9 with all my songs.
However I still can not intstal ipod updater either from the disc that came with shuffle or from the download.
Can any one please help??? Either tell me what to cahnge the registry keys to or explian how this has happened anyway.
I have purchased 5 pods of one type or another for various people on three different computers. Updated all software regularly and never had this problem.

Yes ...followed the link and all instructions on it but not very confident about editing registy keys. Have also checked Microsoft but all that gave was more info on Registry editing.
I have managed to by pass this problem by logging in as another user and installing software. Worked without problem but I have compared the registry entries and all seem the same!

When CD loaded to itunes tracks are shortened

Hi there, I hope someone can help me. When I load my CDs to I tunes sometimes the tracks are shortened in length and another annoying intermittent fault is that the tracks are loaded out of order.
I have an 80GB ipod classic.
Any ideas ?

Hi Katrina S. I have solved it ! Before I went to the expense of buying another DVD drive, I went to the Microsoft site to see if I was missing any updates and there were a couple of suspicous ones with nVIDEA in the title, but Microsoft indicated that they were optional and unimportant. Anyway I downloaded them and I tunes now works.
What I have learnt from your advice is that Windows Media Player has an advantage over I tunes in that when you load a CD disc, the artwork for the album cover automatically comes up rather than physically having to scan it as in I tunes.I will now try to learn how to fully operate WMP.
