i am trying to load Acrobat 9 Standard upgrade to a new laptop and it is asking for previous version SN. i have already loaded this on my desktop pc a while back and can't find anywhere the old version SN.

You do not need the older version installed in order to install the upgrade version, but you do need the serial number from CS4 to prove that you qualify for using CS5. During the activation process for CS5, after you successfully enter the CS5 serial number you will be asked to select the qualifying version (CS4) from a list and to enter its serial number.
If you registered CS4 when you originally installed it then you might be able to find the serial number available in your Adobe account online in the Products section.

I own PSE 7 on disc. The laptop it was loaded on died. My new laptop doesn't have an optical drive so I downloaded PSE 7 from the Adobe site. It downloaded fine but I cannot start using it until I enter a S/N. The S/N on the disc box doesn't work.

Those links weren't particularly helpful to me. They convinced me to install the drivers for my USB 2.0 card, but that didn't make a difference. Still no OS X without a PRAM reset if I've dared to venture into OS 9.
It's always been my understanding that an unblessed System Folder will not be selectable in OS 9's Startup Disk control panel. My folders are blessed and healthy. Of course I'm running 9.2.2, as stated in my first message. I also frequently verify and repair my disks and permissions.
I did a verbose startup of OS X, and noticed something funny about "ATY...too old." Perhaps this problem is related? I ventured into my system.log file and there it was, repeated over and over, everytime I've booted this computer:

Anyone know how to interpret that? Is it related to my problem? I googled it, and all I found was a web board of people arguing over whether the Apple installed stock ATI Rage video card that came in the G3's is appropriate for Panther. The Ye's have it as far as I'm concerned...as long as I leave OS 9 alone, my video is fine on this computer!

I contacted Adobe support Chat and they confirmed the serial number and gave me a response code number to enter. Once that was entered the product downloaded immediately. The whole process took 10 minutes. Thank you for your response. I'm all good now.

If you have access to your old laptop (and it's still working), ideally, you should transfer your complete iTunes library from your old PC to your new PC. If you can and want to do it that way, please post back.
Otherwise, iTunes syncing is generally in one direction, from iTunes library to iPod. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library.

That sounds like you are saying you do not have a DVD drive on your computer to insert the discs. No problem. You can download the installer direct from Adobe. All you will need is the serial number.
Download CS5 products Photoshop CS5 installers are available for both Windows and Mac.
For Windows there will be two files, an .exe and a .7z that must be downloaded. The exe will create the installer when run.

Hi,
The upgrade installer tries to detect the qualifying older version in order to continue with installation. In case it cannot detect the previous version, you can use the serial number of the CS4 suite and installation should continue without any problem.

A single Lightroom license entitles you to two installations but for your personal use. There is no activation process for Lightroom, so you can simply uninstall from a computer you are no longer using and have it installed on two computers that you use. I bought the new Adobe Elements 11 bundle a couple of months ago. Laptop recently crashed and the new one I purchased does not have a CD drive. Since I purchased the new bundle and registered it online, can I download the software from online? I desperately need my Photoshop and Premiere programs again.

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
