Loading apps after iCloud restore is slooooooow!

The loading of apps after restore is 12 hours+ and has far to go. How do I speed up the process?

How are you loading them, I suspect the quickest way might be syncing with iTunes.

Syncing with iTunes after iCloud Restore Syncs Unwanted Apps

All of my apps were arranged and installed as they were before the resoration. I had iTunes set to not automatically begin to sync when I plug in any of my iOS devices, so I can review the device first and then begin the sync. Upon plugging in my iPhone, I checked the applications tab, and all of the apps were arranged the way they were when I would unlock my iPhone; everything seemed normal. It would appear that the content that had not been restored through the iCloud restore would simply be installed though syncing with iTunes. The second I hit sync, iTunes began to restore my iPhone with a very early sync, as many of the apps I had deleted some time ago were being installed onto my phone, and my of the applications added since that specific sync were removed. What can I do to just have iTunes act as it should when finishing the restoration on my phone and not default to a stubborn sync? I'm currently restoring my phone from another recent iCloud backup to have all of my apps and their settings restored to how they were less than 12 hours ago.

First make sure you have the most recent version of iTunes. Use the itunes menu to check for updates and install the latest version if needed.
Reboot your computer and rest your iphone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the buttons and let the device restart. No data will be lost doing this. It's like rebooting a computer.

ITunes sync after iCloud restore

So after retoring from an iCloud backup, I found that I can't sync apps with my computer without deleting all of them from my iPhone? Anyone find a worksround to this?

Thanks! I was hoping there was a way to store page/folder info for apps too, but this is more than fine.
Looks like the backup includes all the user data for each app as well (or it's stored somewhere, anyway), since all the app configs and data seem to be there when I re-download the app. Nice!
Followup question: what is "transfer purchases" for if you can't transfer them back to the device after a restore? I'm not complaining, just asking. What can you do with the transferred purchases?

Photos not appearing after iCloud restore

My previous iPad 2 was fully backed up on iCloud. It failed and was replaced by Apple for a new one. I did an iCloud restore, which seemed like no problem, and no pictures showing up on new iPad. Message that it was downloading X # of photos, but nothing. Tried a restore on another spare iPod, and this time, no photos and no message about the # of photos. Repeated both 2 or 3 times. Same thing as before on each one. Any ideas?

A response I put together from another post. Also going into iTunes and choosing to sync phone to iCloud then back "this computer" sometimes works.
First thing.. Stop where you are. Don't try to sync, update, hard reset, iCloud... Just stop.
Check on your phone under 'SETTINGS' 'GENERAL' USAGE'. It should show some value for PHOTOSTREAM. Also, connect to iTunes and you will notice at the bottom of your phones summary page that there is a large amount of 'OTHER' data.
I used third party software called iExplorer (formerly iPhone explorer). In this program you select 'MEDIA FOLDER', then 'DCIM'. In the various apple folders (IE: 101APPLE) you should be able to preview your photos and copy them to your desktop.
From there sync them back to your device through iTunes or whatever method you use.
There is a simpler solution I'm sure, which may involve using iExplorer to delete some .plist files then restart the phone and let it rebuild. I'm going to try it myself AFTER I've finished copying all the photos to my MAC

Missing Apps after System restore

Yesterday I did a System Restore on my iPhone 3Gs and now all of my Apps are missing. After this I tried to do a Restore from backup again but I still have the same problem.
I don't have Sync Apps ticked in iTunes as if I do it will sync all apps and there is a mix of iPad and iPhone apps there. For some Apps there are separate iPad and iPhone versions and I'm not sure if this will cause any problems.
Is there a way to have the apps restored to the same folders they were in before? I know I can sync selected apps from iTunes but I spent a lot of time organising all of my apps into folders and I'm hoping to avoid having to do that again. When I tick "Sync Apps" but before actually going ahead iTunes shows 10 screens of Apps and none are in folders as they were before.
I thought that doing a restore from a backup that I did just before the restore would have restored the phone exactly as I had it before.

No iTunes content including 3rd party apps are included with your iPhone's backup. If you don't have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes along with the apps selected below that you want available on your iPhone - which can be placed in folders with iTunes followed by a sync, iTunes does not know which apps you had installed on your iPhone. With Sync Apps selected along with the apps in your chosen folders, when restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, your iPhone will be restored in this regard. After restoring as a new iPhone or from the backup, this must be followed by a sync to re-transfer your selected iTunes content including 3rd party apps to your iPhone. What is selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences will be pre-selected prior to the initial sync with iTunes after the restore, and the apps will be transferred back to the same folders as before. Your mistake in this process was not having Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab. With this selected, after downloading an app direct with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
If there is an iPad only app that you select to be transferred to your iPhone, a warning message will be provided with the following sync indicating the app cannot be installed on your iPhone. You can create your app folders with iTunes followed by a sync.

Re-load apps after upgrade

Did software upgrade that took over an hour, all purchased apps on computer, but gone from Iphone 3G. Followed instructions to "restore" but the restore point date was over a year old. How do I re-load apps from computer back to Iphone?

Under the apps tab in iTunes, is sync apps checked? Checks in the boxes for the apps you want to sync to your phone?

After I restored the iPod I downloaded the main apps I used, but I couldn't find the music app that I payed for months ago. If the app is no longer in your country's store then you won't be able to re-download it. Do you have a copy of it on your computer's iTunes or on a backup of your downloads that you can use to re-sync it to your iPod ? Or if the app is still in the store, does it now need a higher iOS version than you have on your iPod ?

How do I load apps after bypassing activation?

I ran the activation bypass tool (developer.palm.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2051) on my Pixi to use the handset as a WiFi-only device for now. I can enable WiFi and connect to the Internet, as well as email and online calendars. However, when I select the App Catalog, I get a message saying 'The action could not be completed. Try again later.' Is this because it has not yet registered my device?
How can I get around this? I would like to load apps and backup the device.

You need to update the iOS. It appears you hav a first first generation iPod. That iPod can go to 3.1.3. You can get that update (a paid one) by going to this link. You may have to ue a different browser to get the sublink to work.

Mail not working after icloud restore to new handset

Hi all.I have a new iPhone 5 handset replaced under warrenty with full icloud restore to the new handset.All is well except my mail wont work and is saying my password is incorrect. I have gone into settings and everything is as normal but i keep getting this pop up saying password is incorrect.Would anyone know of why this is happening.Many thanks in advance

If this is your iCloud email account, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Mail off, then turn it on again.
If it's a different email account, delete the account and recreate it again.

IBooks not downloading after iCloud restore

After installing iOS 6 on my 3rd generation iPad and restoring from iCloud, about a third of my books in ibooks are stuck in the downloading state. They have an empty progress bar across the bottom, and in the Purchases page in the iBookstore they all show up as "Downloading." I'm unable to select them and delete them.
I've tried deleting ibooks and restarting. When I reinstall ibooks, the same problems are there. Is there anyway to force ibooks to delete everything?

I'm having the same problem. I have the little black progress bars underneath my books but they never fill up with blue. They just sit there indefinitely. I've tried killing iBooks and restarting it but that hasn't helped. I'd rather not delete the iBooks app though because I have other ePub documents and PDF documents that I don't want to risk losing.

Why is my iPhone 5s stuck after icloud restore

Hey I got my new iPhone 5s. This is my second one tho, but after I pressed to restore my setting from icloud to this new phone its started. I got an apple logo with a bar which won't go further and stays arount 5%. I've tried to press the sleep and home button at the same time but once I start it again it just stops again at the same place. Someone who knows how to fix this?

I suggest that you put your phone into recovery mode. Here's an Apple support page that explains this process. It needs to be followed step by step very carefully. Even then it may take several tries before the device enters Recovery Mode.

Unable to Load Windows After System Restore from BIOS freeze

I have a pavilion G6 that froze after a BIOS Update ran. Here's what happened and here is what I did:
Uninstalled HP printer software; upon reboot, BIOS Update appeared and ran.
Upon reboot, Win 7 froze @ Welcome screen.
I was instructed this am on this forum to press F8 and do a system restore, which I did.
This appeared to work until about 30 mins ago when it began freezing again and opening to Safe Mode screen.
Now what??

Workaround:
There are few steps that has worked for few but not always..
Restart and tap F2. F2 will show an option “BIOS Management” . Select BIOS Management and then select “Roll Over to the previous BIOS”
BIOS Management option will not be available if the system do not have HP_Tools partition installed or if it is deleted.
Fix if BIOS Management is not available
i)                    Press and Hold the Windows Key and B key at the same time when the system is turned off or follow the steps from this link: Recovering the BIOS using key press combination
iii)                 Shutdown the Notebook. Remove the Hard Drive and then turn the computer ON and tap F10 to load BIOS. If it loads BIOS then it should rollback to previous BIOS or it might show a black screen. Just leave the system ON for about 2-3 mins and turn it on with the hard drive and check.
   If none of the above worked then most likely we need to bench the notebook as system will not boot from recovery discs.
