Loading Apps updates only via sidebar

I use version 11.0.1.12 of iTunes.
Consider the following situation:
- on the iOS device there are nortifications for app updates
- connect the iOS device to iTunes (setting: search automatically for available downloads)
Is it right that I have to use the (old) sidebar on the left side to download app updates?
(I cannot see any button for updating app via iTunes if the sidebar is not shown.
Furthermore there is no setting for automatic download of app updates in the settings of iTunes.
So app updates have always to be downloaded manually.)

Simply select Apps from the content selection drop down at the top left of the screen.
Then in the lower right corner (where it has always been), click the "Check for Updates" button.

    Hello all, after updating to version 10.5.0.142, iTunes doesn't load apps updates anymore.
    When I attempt to do it, receive back a screen message saying that there are no updates available ......! but I know there are updates because if I do it from the iPad or iPhone it works fine. Anybody experienced this trouble?

    Can't offer a solution but see my posting on apps updates on my Iphone and iPad hanging.
    All a **** mess and I blame the latest IOS 5 update.  The first one certainly made a mess of my stuff.

  • Unable to load App update until old App deleted

    I've been having a problem with updating Apps. I download the App update and move it into applications, I'm asked to Authenticate and when I do nothing happens. I then have to go to Applications And delete the original App. I can then Authenticate and load the App. Then I am unable to Eject the dmg. I have to relaunch Finder and then eject? This has been happening since installing Yosemite.
    Have I missed a setting? Any suggestions?

    I agree with you but the software that is doing this always worked prior to OS X. It works that same way until I try to Authenticate then nothing until I delete and do it again?

    The message app only works in the sidebar. I could write new messages and reply only in the sidebar.
    No overall view, no conversations are available...
    The message app didnt work really. All the buttons in the app are grey. I have no option to make settings in the menu.
    It works really good till tomorrow.

  • Load apps to phone via PC from Ovi Beta

    Just a heads up, if you go to the Ovi Store via pc and select send to phone on an app, you can install on phone by connecting your phone by usb to Ovi suite , it's a beta, but I've successfully installed apps on my phone using it and is a great improvement IMO 
    Think it will be useful for people with no data plan or having problems with ovi store on there handset !

  • Apps updating only manually on the bb world. no hub notificati​on

    Hey, guys.
    I'm facing this problem here and I would like to share if you and maybe someone could help me. I'm only able to update an app when o check one by one inside BlackBerry world. Maybe I'm wrong, but o think the correct way was receiving notifications on my hub. Do, I don't know when I have an update available unless I check manually inside the hub.

    Weird I get the updates normally don't know which your referring too but most apps, You can go to the application it self make sure the settings is mark "check for updates" hope that helps!

  • FCPro will not open after Pro Apps update

    Did recommended software updates at the end of the day yesterday. Quicktime, Pro App Support, Pro App Update, Audio Update, Security Update and Compressor. (Also iTunes, AirPort and Security 2007-07.
    Now Final Cut just freezes on the splash screen. Tried to trash the prefs, but FCP does not even load enough to see that the earlier prefs are gone.
    Am frustrated that I have again just taken Apple's word that an update will make things better, not worse.
    Any suggestions, gang? My client is not as patient as we are.

    Thanks, Randy and Ed. I repaired permissions and restarted twice and the issue disappeared. For whatever reason the Pro Apps update only crippled iDVD and FCPro for five hours, then quietly went away.
    The prefs-trashing and permissions-repairing you suggested are what my dad used to call "kicking the mule"... there is no one reason that banging the side of the TV or resetting an unrelated thing on a computer helps it any more than giving the mule a kick, but sometimes that's all that is needed.
    That said, no actual mules or any other animals were harmed in the correction of this glitch. I may have to kick my client though.

    What model iPod do you have? If yo have a 2G iPod. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

    Are you looking in the "About" panel of your old Aperture installation or the Trial? The old version will show the licence number, if it has one. After installing a different version this chance is gone.
    I bought Aperture 3.1.2 on March 2011 in the internet App Store.
    If you bought from the App Store and not the Apple Store, your Aperture version has no serial number. Are you sure, you did not buy from the Apple Store? Then you should have received a serial number by email.

    No, sorry I cannot. The serial number is bought with Aperture and only licenced to the person who bought it.

    Other than what you have already done, you should clear the cache from your browser and, if you use it, your Facebook app.  Also, deleting old texts can free up some room.

  • Cannot Load the iTones Store page from iTones and collect apps Update

    My iTune account and credit card am belonging to Hong Kong, but often travel to different countries. I have recently purchased iPhone and MacBook Pro, and also purchased some apps when I was staying in Hong Kong.
    This week I visit Singapore and noticed that there are two purchased apps has update. When I click "Update All", it said it was disallowed for my account to download apps in Singapore.
    After studying a lot of discussion thread, I think I neglected an important legal term that I cannot purchase or rental apps outside Hong Kong.
    However, here I am not trying to access Singapore iTunes apps store, but only visit Hong Kong iTunes apps store. Would there be any possible way for me to only visit Hong Kong iTunes apps store and purchase or collecting apps update?
    Right now, I even cannot use iTunes to access iTunes apps store home page. The loading of the iTunes apps store page would stop in the middle. Perhaps iTunes would really check my own public ip address. I connect to internet through Singapore local carrier 3G data access.
    Now, many people in the world would travel or even move between countries frequently. Most of Apple fans are willing to spend money on valuable apps, songs or movies. It is pretty ridiculous for blocking us accessing other countries' iTunes store. Even it is copy right issues, at least it should allow me to access my own country iTunes apps store, when I am physically staying at oversea.
    Please help suggest me any kind of solution for my situation.

    After a month and I am back to Hong Kong, I called to local AppleCare for assistance. Finally my problem has to be fixed by resetting iTunes preference. Here below is the procedure:
    0. Quit iTunes application
    1. Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
    2. Choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
    3. Type /Library/Preferences
    4. Click Go.
    5. In the Finder window, locate the file named com.apple.iTunes.*
    6. Drag all those com.apple.iTunes.* files to desktop or trash
    7. Open iTunes application
    8. Follow the instruction to setup the iTunes again by clicking Yes
    9. After loading all your original audio files, click to iTunes store and try Sign In
    With above procedures, now I can access to iTunes and sign in with my account.
    AppleCare also said this is part of regular iTunes troubleshooting procedure. She guided me to open a new testing user account in my Mac and open iTunes there. I found that I can access to iTunes Store and sign in with my account. Therefore, it means the iTunes access issue is not because of my computer internet connection issue, but related to my own Mac account iTunes preference setting. That's why she guided me with above procedure to reset iTunes preference.
    She said there is a lot of solution about (-50) error documented in "http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3288".
    I appreciate very much for this AppleCare technical support. She is so nice and patient for giving me instruction step by step. However, I forgot what her name is. She is worth for being praised.

    I have iPhone 5s. I have account info to  my Facebook app. I know I can update my status "via iOS" with a picture.
    My question is:
    How can I update my status ONLY "via iOS" without having to upload a picture.
    When I had my iPhone 4s I used to do it sliding down my notification bar up top. Is there a a way to get that feature again? Or is there specific steps I have to do to get that feature again?

    When I'm on my own page there is a selection to Write Post near the top. When I'm on my newsfeed there is an Update Status section in the upper left corner.

    Here are several things that you can try. These have all worked for other users in the past however YMMV. One of the first two might be the way to go.  BTW - by "resetting" - I assume that you are talking about the two button hold down and wait for the Apple logo reboot.
    1. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
    2. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
    3. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
