Loading Custom CD-Rs into iTune Playlists

I have about 20 custom music disks that I would like to enter into separate Playlists in my iTunes. What is the easiest method to keep each disk separate in the library and enter them into its own playlist. The problem I have is that if I import two or more disks you get Track 01, Track 01, Track 01, Track 02, etc in the library and they become very very hard to separate our into playlists. Thanks in advance.

Insert your CD-R and wait for it to appear in iTunes. Highlight all the tracks on it (click on the first track and go to Edit>Select All). Drag the selection to the playlist area of the iTunes source list (below the icons for Music, Movies etc). iTunes will automatically create a playlist from the selection and begin importing the tracks. You can rename and add information to the tracks in the playlist so you don't have to try and identify them in the library. You could also add the info in the usual way to the tracks on the CD before importing them if you want to avoid creating a playlist altogether.

We are having no luck with the thousands of songs we have to manualy add to a particular playlist in iTunes alone. .. there must be a simpler way! How can this be done . . . if there is and it's complicated, is the Genius allowed to help us out with this? They seem to only master Mac's only. . or can they help us? PL E A SE E E HELLPPP!

I for one appreciate all the hardwork and help you have been giving the people on theses lists, especially with the problems associated with the "importing playlists" from windows media. Unfortunately I need more help if you or someone else can provide it. I followed all the steps you have instructed so far in the threads I have seen. Unfortunately nothing so far works for me. Maybe you or someone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. I tried the notepad++ method and when I click on save I always get a notepad file that my iTunes can't do anything with. I click the "convert to UTF-8 without BOM" then click save as and it still saves as a notepad file. I am also unable to find the \n\ file path to replace with my \C:\ filepath. Here is a copy of the first part of one of my playlists:

Now I went and switched the part from <media src="..\ to <media src="C:\ in all the files in hopes that was where I am supposed to have my drive letter but it didn't seem to help. Please forgive my encoding ignorance if that's what my problem is. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion. CD's are clean; no finger prints or dust. Still can't import into iTunes. A little background-- I had iTunes on a PC previously. When I transferred the library to my MacBook, I noticed some CD's were not transferred. This is one of the CD's I had in iTunes on my PC, but is now not in iTunes on my MacBook. Why can I not add this and some other CD's to iTunes on my MacBook?

Can't import songs into itunes playlist folders from itunes music folder

Ive got to be an idiot. ive had my ipod for years and ive yet to figure this out:
how do i put music into my playlist folders? The only playlists ive been able to successfully create and use are the ones ON my ipod. but that requires me to plug in my ipod every time i want to hear music at home.
I've created the playlist folders. They are blue folders, found under the playlists tab on itunes. I select music from the music sections, and drag to the folder, but all i ever get is the Circle and line "No" symbol, i never get a plus sign. Ive ever tried popping the playlist folder into a new window and dragging from one window to the other, and its doesn't work. its there some ridiculous safety feature of iTunes that i need to turn off to make playlists or? I can't imagine that something would be this confusing, but i just don't get it.

Sounds like you are trying to drag single music files into a playlist folder.
You can only drag a pre-existing playlist into a playlist folder.

Can't load/import converted video into itunes for sync

I converted a video into ipod format by 2 diff software. They seem to have converted correctly as I can play them in apple quicktime. I tried to bring them into itunes for sync, but can't bring them. I tried dragging into movies, tried import, tried add files. Non of them working. Can anybody help me in this, ho can I bring the file into itunes? I am using itune 7, should I go back to old ver (6.x..)?

I just converted some TV shows with iSquint, and drug them over to movies and presto they were there... I then when into Info, changed them to TV shows and they moved over to TV Shows.
It works.

Loading custom override stylesheet into custom wiki theme

I'm trying to set up a custom wiki theme on 10.5 server. I haven't had any trouble using .xsl overrides. I created a .css file based off the overrides.css stylesheet and I'm trying to get it loaded as part of my custom theme, but haven't had any luck. I'm trying not to modify any of the default .css files, but rather just have my override stylesheet get loaded last. I've read and re-read "Extending Your Wiki Server," but haven't seen any reference to this specifically.

Is there an easier way to load songs and albums into itunes library?

I have MP3 files on my computer, is it possible to load songs to my library from the file location itself, rather than opening itunes, then adding it to the library by directing itunes to the folder?

Easier? No idea how File -> Add folder to library could be considered in any way "more difficult" than any of the following but...
Double click the songs.
Drag them to the Automatically add to iTunes folder inside the iTunes media folder.
Drag the top level folder or the entire drive to the iTunes icon.
If iTunes is open, drag the drive, top level folder, lower level folder or file(s) to the library icon in iTunes.

I can't load custom camera profiles into Lightroom 4.3?

I have googled this found some posts about puting it under the Users folder. However I don't have a library under my username it comes under a folder called Shared.
I'm using a Mac computer
I placed my custom profiles in there , however it still won't work.
Can anyone offer any help in the matter?

Yes, it won't work if you put them in a folder called Shared. It's looking in this location: Macintosh HD / Users / [your username] / Library / Application Support / Adobe / CameraRaw / CameraProfiles /
There should be a Library folder under your username - I've never heard of a Mac install without one (i.e. as far as I know, the Mac OS won't work). It's a hidden folder though.

Can't seem to figure out why I can't load my music into Itunes??

Ok so I updated my itunes lately and for some reason I can't seem to load any new songs into itunes (I do it the manual way *file *add file to library *click or highlight songs and press *open) and it still wont show up on itunes. Is there a simple solution to this??

There appear to be no problems with the feed; all the episodes appear when subscribing in iTunes. Sometimes the Store does seem to get stuck and fail to update; and there have apparently been some problems about updating recently which might be related. Apple's engineers know about those and are working on them.
I can only suggest emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to re-index your podcast: this might do some good.

How can I get my (vinyl) record music into iTunes Match?

I have a rather large collection of music on CDs, Tapes, and records.
Now that iTunes Match exists I would like to include all of my music into my iTunes library.
There is no easy way (that I know of) to load anything except CDs into iTunes. So for the rest of the library one must either buy all the music again or buy equipment to play the music one time and convert it to a newer format.
My CD collection is mostly loaded and since 99.999% (virtually all) of that music is already in iTunes Match it is not uploaded to iTunes again, but it quickly becomes available to play on all my iTunes Authorized Devices.
With the exception of that 1 in ten thousand songs that I may have that iTunes does not have in the Match library there is no reason to import the music at all - other than to prove I have the actual CD's. (In any case I suppose I could have borrowed them for that anyway.)
However for CDs at least they can be imported - but for tapes and records I know of no direct way.
With something state-of-the-art like iTunes Match and my PC(s), iPhone(s) and iPad, why use stone-age-like means to prove ownership of outside-of-iTunes music?
Why not provide some other information to identify albums owned and have them available in iTunes Match without the 99.999% useless step of loading them?
In fact for most tape music it is no longer playable (to convert) as the rollers in the tape devices deteriorate and they no longer play.
Vinyl records play just fine, just not easily into a PC without purchase of expensive equipment that would be used only for the one-time load (which is really just for proof-of-ownership).
What a ridiculous waste of time, energy and funds for that 1 in 10,000 songs that may not yet exist in the iTunes Match library. Okay, as the music gets older it may even be 2 in 10,000 - but I doubt it.
I remember that each album (and 45 rpm single) has identifying information scratched into it (around the inside of the innermost track) - can that (or something else) suffice as proof of ownership to get the music into iTunes Match?
Please respond with ideas to quickly and easily get already-owned vinyl record music into an iTunes Match library.
I personally do not care if 1 (or 2) out of 10,000 of my songs gets lost because it is not in the iTunes Match library - couldn't be that good in that case anyway.

I too have not figured out how to convert my vinyl collection to iTunes match. Here is what I have tried:
I record my vinyl records onto CD using a Sony RCD-W500C which makes a very high quality recording. I make sure the song lengths are the same as those from the same album at the iTunes store.
Then I import the CD into my iTunes music library. I have to enter the names of the tracks manually because Gracenote cannot identify the names of the songs. I do this while the music is in my iTunes music library and the CD has been ejected from my PC.
Then I try to get the iTunes Match, but it never works. I do, however, get the artwork from iTunes. iTunes then uploads my songs into the iCloud. When I download them back onto my PC and iPhone 4s, I get the identicle recording that I imported onto iTunes. I know this because I can hear the static and crackling of the vinyl. I don't necessarily mind that noise, but I figured if I paid for the iTunes Match I should get the AAC 256 bps music. After all it doesn't cost iTunes anything to give it to me. And there's no way I'm going to purchase all my vinyl records again. I have about 500 albums.
I do buy all my new music from iTunes because I think it is the best system available. I just think it could be so much better if they would let me download the highest quality recording of the music I own from them.
I have also tried the Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio which records my vinyl records into a music file on my PC. But that doesn't get the match either.
THERE HAS TO BE SOMEBODY OUT THERE THAT CAN TELL US WHAT ITUNES MATCH LOOKS AT IN OUR MUSIC UPLOADS THAT DETERMINES WHETHER THEY GIVE US THE MATCH!!!!!!
When you download a CD, there is some information embedded in the CD that iTunes matches. I don't believe there is any information embeded in the vinyl albums, but when I burn them onto a CD-maybe I could add the info onto the CD before trying to match it if I just knew what they looked for.

I lost my recent purchases again! My phone synced automatically and didn't save any new purchases. Not the 1st time this has happened!! I don't want to have to go into tabs in iTunes to tell it to remember to save my purchased iTunes items!! It should save them automatically. How can I get them back??? Also , please enable dropping music straight from a folder into iTunes playlist. iTunes is unbearable for me to use now!! I liked apple because you made things simple. You should transfer all purchases to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
