Loading data from existing DS to a new data target

Hi All,
I have an active Purchasing ODS 0PUR_O01.
It has 2LIS_02_ITM as data source.
Now, I want to have Purchasing Cube 0PUR_C01, which is inactive in BWD and not present in BWP.
I want this cube to have the same DS i.e 2LIS_02_ITM as data source.
How can I do this?
And before I do this I want to bring 0PUR_C01 as active in BWP. As I know I can do this by transporting it from BWD.
But I want to know what will happen if I activate it from BI content in BWP (if this is possible)?

Reg to have 2LIS_02_ITM as data source ,u have to create a update rule on 0PUR_C01with the infosource option as 2LIS_02_ITM .
and then map the fields according to your requirement.
It is always advisable to activate the Cube in BWD create a transport request through transport connection and send to BWP.

Now I would like to MR from existing RAC database to newly installed standalone database.(Sun SPARC 64)
Is it possible0? If yes, how? If no, Why?
source db platform is Sun X86 and destination db platform is Sun SPARC64.
Source db is using ASM file system and destination db is using normal filesystem.
After the move, my application server should work. (Because this is production system).

The document you suggested me is really useful but I want to make sure this document will surely applicable for my case. Our concern is to move the entire database which is also MR for Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.3.0. Let me explain you more about our architecture.
Dbnode1& dbnode2 (Sun X86 – OS: Sun Solaris 10)
We have two node RAC db and created MR on that db by MRCA. (Oracle home 1)
We installed Oracle AS Infra tier Identity Manager. (including OID, HA, DIP but excluding SSO component) (oracle home 2)
Midnode-1 & Midnode2 (Sun X86- OS: Sun Solaris 10)
We installed Oracle AS Infra tier Identity Manager. (Including SSO, HA, DIP but excluding OID) (oracle home 1)

We need to move whatever running on dbnode1 and 2 to another couple of Sun SPARC64 – OS: Sun Solaris 10 machines. We know binary migration is not possible between X86 and SPARC64. Therefore, I have installed a new database with SPARC64 installation media and created fresh MR by running runRepca.sh script. In one of the document Oracle recommend to do RMAN backup to move entire data from existing (original) database to new (target) database.

In this procedure, new database also must use the same Oracle home, datafile location, SID, and global database name as the original Metadata Repositorys. Our newly installed database is not RAC database with ASM but this is standalone database on qfs file system. We could not create database with the same datafile location as the original MR.
• Can we do full database export/import? (your document only talking about portal schema but in my MR there are around 60 schemas related with MR and we need to import all the schemas)
• Is there any other possible solution for case?

Adding new date field to already loaded data target.

Hi,
we have a cube containing date feild such as 0CALMONTH. the data is being loaded to the cube. now they have added new date feild (0FISCYEAR). how to get data to this feild. there is no data coming from source system for this feild. please can any one tell me how to include this feild and load data into it.

If Record creation date is the right field for deriving fiscal year, Why cant you derive the year from the date...by using automatioc time conversion...?? In update rules...??

Create PR00 from existing Sales area to new Sales Area

I have an existing sales area S001 SA.
I wanted to copy my condition type PR00 from S001 SA to a new DC S001 SB.
Is there a tools to mass copy the condition records?

The ABAPer for making a copy of reports RV45* is if you need to copy a field in the second step no covered by the standard fields. What is the tables in the determination of PR00. Please, see in V/06 the sequence access and check the tables in V/07. And do the proper customizing if you have changed the customizing.
See the reports availables.
If you need to copy a different field (in tables A+++), then create your own ZRV15CC* using one of the former reports as a template.

Hi,
After creating Start variant, select Data Targets in left side, find out which one you want to create PC. Drag and drop that Data Target ODS into right side, and select info package and ods activation.
For Master data also the same you have select Attr Change run.
Connect the links from Start variant to data targets.

How do I load iWork from old imac to my new one?

I just purchased a new iMac. I had iWork '08 on my old one. How do I install iWork that I already own onto my new computer? I have discs, but of course the new computer doesn't have a disc drive.

Assuming you still have the old Mac, and the two Macs are on the same network you should be able to do it using DVD or CD Sharing.
On the old Mac in System Preferences>Sharing, tick 'DVD or CD Sharing', and the disk should appear on the desktop of the new Mac when connected over the network. From there you should be able to install.
Once installed on the new Mac you'll need to update iWork using Software Update to be compatible with MLion:

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same itunes library, there is no limit. You can decided what content you want on each device & itunes will keep everything straight, by device, on subsequent syncs.

Cards app quits on trying to load picture from existing photos

When I try to put a picture into the cards app on my iPad from "Choose Existing" the app quits. I can do it from my iPhone with out a hitch. Just the iPad quits. I can take a picture and it works, but cant use existing photos. ???

How do I move movies that I loaded manually from my old computer to new computer

I had an old computer crash on me. I bought a new one and I am trying to get my movies, that I transferred from disk to my computer, and my free apps to download from my I-pad to my computer so that I do not have to reload them all. Ideally you would have backed up your iTunes library from your old PC so that you could simply migrate the iTunes library into the new one. If you don't have access to the old hard drive or a backup see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

I just bought a new computer, and I need to install my Photoshop Elements 9 (which I have on my old computer). When I purchased it in the past, I had downloaded from the web and registered it online. I still have the serial number. I really don't want to purchase this again.

On windows you need both File 1 & File 2 from Adobe. After downloading is finished, both files need to be grouped inside a single folder for the set-up to work.
Click on file 1 to start the download
Click on file 2 to start the download
Go to your downloads folder (or wherever you saved them) and place the 7z file and the application file into a single folder e.g. create a new folder named: Install PSE9 and drag the two downloads inside it.
Then double-click on the application and choose run which should start the file extraction and installation.

We are very interested in loading hierarchy from infobject 0CUST_SALES
to a new infobject ZCUST_SALES in order to use the hierarchy exit EXIT_SAPLRSAP_004 in CMOD.
The export datasource 80CUST_SALESH cannot be tested in RSA3 (an error 6 - function module RSS_PROGRAM_GENERATE occurs) and in our BI 7.0
datasource appears as emulated one.
I have read that new concept of transformation cannot be applied to hierarchies
but the 3.X flow is mantained.
And I read that while it is not possible to build a generic extractor for hierarchy it is possible to bind a new infobject to the existing one (by means of export datasource) in order to manipulate the hierarchy in exit (as Dirk Herzog states in his new interesting book "Abap development for SAP BW" - page 22).
It is curious to notice that we can load data to this ZCUST_SALES (hierarchies as well from 0CUST_SALES) while it seems that we are not allowed to use our abap code in CMOD in BW.
Does anyone knows something about this issue?

The only way to build a hierarchy on BPC MS is by using the dimension member sheet. All 5 hierarchies must be built on the same member sheet, using 5 columns ParentH1,ParentH2,... ParentH5. And of course you'll have the original columns of ID, EVDescription, etc. on the same member sheet.
Unlike the way you add other dimension properties, the ParentHn property is one that you must add directly to the XLS member sheet by inserting a column. There is nothing to do on the "maintain dimension properties" screen of the admin console. The properties and hierarchy are created automatically when you process the dimension.
If you have a complex dimension with 100's or 1,000's of members, I'd recommend trying it out first on just 10 members or so, to make sure you have all the mechanics working properly. Then you should be able to bulk load the full list pretty quickly.

I have taken a look at several threads which talk about loading data from .csv file into existing /new table. Also checked out Vikas's application regarding the same. I am trying to explain my requirement with an example.
I have a .csv file and I want the data to be loaded into an existing table. The timesheet table columns are -
timesheet_entry_id,time_worked,timesheet_date,project_key .
The csv columns are :
project,utilization,project_key,timesheet_category,employee,timesheet_date , hours_worked etc.
What I needed to know is that before the csv data is loaded into the timesheet table is there any way of validating the project key ( which is the primary key of the projects table) with the projects table . I need to perform similar validations with other columns like customer_id from customers table. Basically the loading should be done after validating if the data exists in the parent table. Has anyone done this kind of loading through the APEX utility-data load.Or is there another method of accomplishing the same.
Does Vikas's application do what the utility does ( i am assuming that the code being from 2005 the utility was not incorporated in APEX at that time). Any helpful advise is greatly appreciated.

Tried to sync iPod Touch, noted "new" iTunes. iPod won't sync ("iTunes is unable to load data class information from Sync Services"). Tried the fix, but iTunes hangs when I try to open Preferences.

Just tried to download new audiobooks to my iPod Touch 3, and noted new iTunes. iPod won't sync ("iTunes is unable to load data class information from Sync Services"). Tried to Reset Sync History per Support Article, but it didn't work. My purchased audiobooks are also gone from my iTunes Library. Any fix, or is my best bet to uninstall new iTunes and reload earlier version??
