Loading digital photos to the 5th Generation iPod from laptop

It's not a crisis, and I really enjoy my new 80GB iPod, but why can't I get all my digital photos downloaded into the iPod from my Window's-based computer? I have photos placed in files in 'My Pictures' and after the pictures were downloaded into the iPod, it only seemed to 'accept' a certain amount of pics from each file (example of one I noticed...one of my files has 8 pics, and it transferred only 2 to the iPod under that file name). Am I doing something wrong? Thanks to anyone who can help...

my friend the same thing happened to me.
I am still not entierly sure what the problem is or how to fix it so if you find an answer well both of us will earn;P

  • When is the release date for the 5th generation iPod touch

When is the release date for the 5th generation iPod touch?

Nobody knows (except for apple of course). All it says on the ipod touch page that it ships in October so it could be any date. I predict that it is in the first two weeks of October but when it says buy it now instead of pre-order you know its about to come out.

Does the 5th generation ipod nano have blue tooth capabilities?
    Thanks for your help!

Unfortunately, the fifth generation iPod nano does not have a built-in Bluetooth chip. The seventh generation iPod nano, introduced in fall 2012, is the only iPod nano as of now that does have Bluetooth built-in.

  • Why You Can't Load Some Images On Your 5th Generation ipod

Why You Can't Load some images on your 5th Gen ipod.
    - OK here is the scoop: I could not load some images on my 5th gen ipod and yet other images would load no problemo. Images were JPEG, jpg, PSD (all approved image types for the 5th gen ipod)
    - After doing several tests like restoring the software on the ipod, reinstalling itunes I still could not find the problem, then I noticed as soon as I would open an image in Photoshop CS2/CS3 that was otherwise loading on the ipod no problemo, when I would save that same image in Photoshop the image would not load in my ipod.
    - So after playing with several settings in Photoshop I found the problem:
-In Photoshop go to File handling:
    -Image Previews:
    - And click on:Never Save
You do not want to save a photo with a "Image Preview" when saving any file type that you want to load on your 5th gen ipod. it would seem the ipod will not accept any images with a "Image Preview" embedded into the file, JPEG, PSD, jpg etc.
I hope this will help some of you because I just waisted a whole day to find this out the hard way.
    Cheers,
    Mac Fans
    BTW I use a Mac Pro/Intel OSX Tiger 10.4.9

Also I just found out when you are saving an image in Photoshop uncheck the " Embed Color Profile" box.
So do not embed your images with a "Preview" and DO NOT embed a "Color Profile" when saving images in Photoshop or the images MAY not load on your ipod.

  • What is the battery model in the 5th generation iPod Classics?

I'm trying to determine what type of battery (the model number) is in my 5th generation iPod. I'm considering purchasing a replacement batter because it no longer holds a charge. I purchased the iPod in December 2006.

    Hello buck2825,
Depends on what size hard drive you have.  Here are the default battery capacties for each.
    80 GB - 600 mAh
    60 GB - 600 mAh
    30 GB - 400 mAh
Each of these iPod models can actually handle a slightly higher capacity than what they were originally designed with.  Here is a good site to purchase a replacement battery from.

    Hope this helps.

  • How do I change the format of my 5th Generation iPod from Windows to Mac

How do I change the format of my 5th Gen iPod from a Windows format to the Mac?

But this will delete all the songs I have? I have a lot of them on my iPod classic
    Yes.
I want to transfer (well copy) all my songs from the iPod to itunes on the mac - and then have the itunes library as being placed on the external drive. The last part I think I know, but I can't work out how to copy music from my iPod
See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering the different methods and software available to assist you with the task of copying content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Then see here about backing your iTunes library onto an external hard drive.

  • Why is the repeat button close to the shuffle on the 5th generation iPod touch?

I'm asking because on the previous generations it was different how you could repeat and shuffle songs. Why did Apple change it?

Apple has not said why, the very seldom do.

  • Using the 5th generation ipod with the battery taken out

Hello everyone. My battery recently died and I thought instead of buying a new one I would just use it without the battery inside. I removed the battery from the ipod and it can only be used if it is plugged into a power source. Since I primarily used my ipod in my car (which has a AUX adapter for the ipod) I thought I might as well just keep it in the car. I was wondering if using the ipod only while it's plugged in with no battery would damage the ipod or force my car to put a higher charge into the ipod and therefore deplete my car battery faster. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

... if the power source for the iPod stays ON when you turn OFF the ignition, that would be fine; the iPod has continuous power until you turn it OFF. However, if the power source goes OFF when when turn your key to shut off your engine, and the iPod is ON at that time, it would suddenly lose power. If the iPod as a battery, it just runs off the battery at that point. If it has no battery, it is being shut OFF unexpectedly.
I assume the iPod's hard drive works the same way as ones I've worked on in the past. That is, while running, the read heads (the little arm that moves across the hard drive disks and finds the information) are prevented from hitting the hard disk by the fact that the disk is turning. (It's a bit more involved than that, but I've simplified it - I hope!) When told to "power off", the read head arm is told to return to home and uses power to do this, then powers off. I think the danger in the above scenario would be that with a sudden removal of power, the hard disk would not be able to return the read heads to home and this means the read mechanism would crash into the disk itself. This is known as a head crash - it's not good.
I'm surprised to read that this iPod works with no battery in it. Normally, if the battery in the iPod is fully drained, when connected up to a power source nothing happens for a while and then a message appears saying "please wait, batttery very low". At this point, the iPod will not work. In other words, until the iPod senses that it has enough power to run on its own (and protect the hard drive), it will not run at all. So with no battery in it, how does it sense the "sufficient reserve" condition?

  • Movies on the 5th generation ipod

Hi - I know my 30GB ipod can play music videos, tv shows, short films etc..., but is there any way to transfer some of my DVDs to my ipod?

The only way is by 3rd party.
    Recommendation(s):
DVDDecrypter (free - found on google)

For the movie file conversion to iPod try using Videora iPod Converter which is also free and found by google.

  • 5th generation iPod nano compatibility with Linux?

Why not let the customer choose to use iTunes or not ?
Be able to add individual files just by copying them from any computer (any OS, with or without iTunes installed), and use a filesystem browser on the iPod to select which file to play in which directory.
Only Apple would know the answer to this. However, based on the history of the iPod, it seems unlikely that you're going to see this happen. One of the major differentiating features of the iPod is that one doesn't have to mess with a file system browser, it's all handled automatically by iTunes. Now, that's not to say that everyone is going to like players that work this way. Hence, the continuing market for other brands of players.
Please, release a new iPod firmware supporting this feature.
Again, seems very unlikely as it runs counter to the entire Apple design philosophy. However, if you want to make your feelings known to Apple (as opposed to just the fellow users who are going to be seeing this post), submit your feedback here:
