Loading flash through ajax does not work in IE 6.

Hi all,
I am having some problems on a site I'm developing. When I
load a video from youtube, etc, and do so dynamically through ajax,
it does not work on IE 6. Mind you it does work on all other
browsers. This problem happens with multiple copies of IE 6 so it
is reproducible. Not sure if there are any web devs here but any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, this probably belongs over in the Flash forum. That's
where the developer questions go.. It's surely a matter of the way
the code is written (or possibly the paths to the different
components. There are security restrictions on certain types of
loading that may also come into play. Hard to tell without more
detail.

I'm using Firefox 3.6.8 (and sometimes IE 8.0.6001.18702IC) on Windows XP Pro, SP 3.
For some weeks now, I have been unable to hear any sounds on anything Flash-based, from YouTube to games at MSN.com or embedded videos on any site using Flash. Initially I had assumed it to be because of having QuickTime installed because I know QT likes to hijack everything. I uninstalled QT (and Real Player) and Flash Player then reinstalled Flash Player (and Shockwave Player just in case) and guess what?
Yup. Nothing. When I uninstalled everything, I used a program called Revo Uninstaller, which includes a registry cleaning option. I then used Abexo and WinASO's registry cleaners to make sure I got everything else that even looked like QuickTime off my hard drive.
When I reinstalled Flash, the following programs appeared in C:\Windows\system 32\Macromed\Flash:

When I check IE's "Tools" and look for add-ons, it says that Flash (Shockwave Flash) is enabled. I even enabled the other Adobe add-ons for Acrobat and such just to be sure. Firefox shows Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director both to be enabled. The Flash control panel settings don't help: I have all sites set to store about 100 KB on my computer to make sure there's enough room for everything but still nothing.
Before anyone asks, my audio drivers are up to date, thanks to the manufacturer's website. I have DirectX 9.0c installed and everything else works fine. I can play audio and video elsewhere with no problems. It's only Flash that's showing me this trouble and there's no hint as to what else could be interfering with Flash.
Any ideas?

Well, great. I tried the uninstall/reinstall before, but not with the uninstaller, so I was hopeful that this time might do it. No such luck. The video still plays, but no sound.
All the sound settings are working with everything else from games to media players. I set Windows' firewall to allow both the ActiveX and plugin for Flash, just in case.
In the Flash folder, I now have:
Flash10l.ocx (10.1.102.64)
Flash Util10l_ActiveX (10.1.102.64)
FlashUtil10l_Plugin (10.1.102.64)
Genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)

I've also done a system restart since then and zip.
I went through IE and Firefox and looked for any file associations (like .flv) that I could manually change over to using Flash, but no go. The settings panels for Flash have all been set to allow YouTube specifically (as a test) and to allow 10KB of storage space for all affected sites.
Now what? I'm really not looking forward to a reformat and reinstall, but it's looking like that's what it's going to take.

Something is strange with your list of modules; you list FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.102.64), but this is really 10.1.85.3
I recommend that you uninstall Flash Player completely (using http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html), then restart Windows, and delete all remaining files in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash.
Next reinstall both ActiveX (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe) and the plugin (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe).

Smartview v11.1.1.3 drill through reports does not work in grids?

I'm using v11.1.1.3 and know there is a drill through function to FDM from Smartview grids. I've tried but it does not work in the grids, only works in the forms. However, I'm able to drill through to FDM from workspace grids. Does anyone encounters the same?? Appreciate any kinds advices. Thanks!

Are you certian that the report is showing an input level cell? Often reports are designed to run at Total dimension members, i.e. <Entity Curr Total> which you can not drill into.

Flash Player 10 does not work on certain websites

Hi,
Just installed Falsh Player 10 onto my imac G5 (mac os x tiger 10.4.9, power g5). It works fine for you tube and plays certain flash content but, when accessing channel 4OD, E4 and ITV player it does play the videos. Also when i try to adjust the flash setings by 'ctrl click' it does not allow me to access any of the tabs or uncheck the options.
Am completely baffled as to why this is happenning especially when i have checked several times to see if the player is installed properly, which it is.
Be absolutely grateful if anyone can tell me what the problem is.
(have also checked my mozilla preferences and they don't seem to be relevant in solving the problem)

Some websites claim that they required Flash Player, when in fact they mean Shockwave Player. Try installing Shockwave Player, and see if this fixes the problem.
As for the Flash Player Settings; on Windows this can usually be cured by deleting the folders where these settings are stored. Unfortunately I don't know where that is on a Mac, but possibly you can find this information in http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html

Lightroom 4.1 flash web gallery does not work in 32 bit Internet Explorer 9.0

I have a web site with a Web Gallery I created in Lightroom 4.1. . The Web Gallery will not work in the IE 9.0 32 bit browser. It does work in the IE 9.0 64 bit browser. Also, all other flash material seems to work fine in my 32 bit browser such as Youtube and other flash sites material. I have a flash menu created from another product on my web site which also works fine in the 32 bit IE browser but I cannot get the Lightroom Flash Gallery to work in this browser.
Any suggestions?

Hi, I am trying to verify my Acrobat XI Pro and the serial number I was given through email does not work.

The Acrobat manager does not accept letter formation while entering the serial number. Where my serial number does contain letters and numbers. How do I enter my verified code ?

Texting through messages does not work

I am unable to send any text messages from the iPad2.

Check under settings->messages at top " learn more." You cannot send text messages to anyone who
does not have ios5 on their iphone. So if they don't have an iphone you cannot send them a message.

Why do u keep saying loading interrupted, and google does not work

Example trying to load Mozilla Firefox is one loading interrupted, Google say mobilitydisabled vehicles nothing happens or you get loading interrupted try again.
WHY does Mozilla-FireFox not answer these questions or is it to much to ask, or do they not care. Or is it to difficult for them.

The inbuilt load to ftp-host does not work

When I use this alternative in muse all the files are not upploaded or mismatched. When I save as HTML an upload the files by a third party FTP-client it always work.
The problem occurs only with one of my websites.
Does muse have a working directory that perhaps is corrupted?

Select the "All Files" option during the next FTP upload, then go back to using the default "Modified Files" option.
Also, if you alter the contents of your site using an external FTP client, Muse will be unaware of those changes so in order to get things back in sync you'll need to use the "All Files" option.

Sound through HDMI does not work on eeebox eb1501p

When trying to play a wav file:

No errors, but no sound either, and this is true on all nvidia devices listed in aplay -l.
So what do I do next?

On my laptop, I have to add "options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=0xffff,0xff2" to a modprobe.d conf file. You can try that.
sudo su
echo "options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=0xffff,0xff2" >> /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf
exit
After that, restart and hopefully it will work.

Loading messages in mail does not work - HELP!!

2 nights ago my comcast account went crazy and now, I cannot see all of my inbox on my iPhone, it shows 15 messages, then a blue menu item that says load more messages, but this does nothing. How can I fix this?

Reboot your phone, If that doesnt do it ,then delete the mail account and redo it. You wont lose anything.
