Loading flatfile with 4400 fields

Hello,
A client wants to load a flat file with 4400 fields (tab delimited).
The easiest would be creating a table with 4400 columns, but Oracle has a limit of 1000 columns.
What's the best solution to load that flat file in and oracle table.
Thanks

The best solution is to get a psychiatrist for your client. There is virtually no rational excuse for attempting to load 4400 fields into anything.
If you can not do that then I would suggest finding a tool in your operating system that will allow you to produce multiple files from what they send you or, load the entire ugly thing into a CLOB and then parse it inside the database.

  • Sql Loader fails with newline fields

Hi,I have a csv file delimited by "|" which is exported from MS Access. One of the fields contains a newline (e.g. notes column) which sql loader treats as beginning of new record. Can anyone tell me how to force the loader to ignore this newline. Is there a way I can tell the loader to read the optional '"' and continue with the record till it finds a closing '"'? Or is there a way to export data from access an force it to skip newlines and make a flat file with one record per line? I hate fixed length columns since it adds up pain in wrting the control files. Also the loader still fails to read the record if it encounters a newline as discussed above.
    Thanks

Unfortunately there is no command that can make sql*loader treat two lines in a text file as one record. Some one asked tom kyte same question, see what he had to say about it:
    http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950%3A8%3A%3A%3A%3A%3AF4950_P8_DISPLAYID%3A4972732303253
Why don't you create a staging table where you first load the data, and then from the data inserted into this table populate your original table in the form required.

  • Where to down load assets with Asset Capitalization date and Book value..

    Hi All,
What is table/Transaction code  to down load Asset with below details:
    1) Capitalization
    2)  Acquisition value
    3) Book Value
    4) Book Dep Value
    5) Cost center
    Thx In advance..
    Regards,
    Shirisha

You can try the Asset History Sheet report S_ALR_87011990 (which has all fields except for cost center) and if you want additional fields you can choose to add new fields through the link [Include own fields in FI-AA standard ALV |https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPFI/IncludeownfieldsinFI-AAstandardALV] the relevant report for Asset History Sheet should be Asset History Sheet -> FIAA_SALVTAB_RAGITT includes CI_REPRAGITT (out of RAGITT_ALV01). Else a quicker option would be to perform a vlookup process from another report that has cost centers like S_ALR_87011979.

  • How to Pass XML Data to a PDF Form and Load it into form fields

I have xml Form data in a string. I would like open a programatically launch a pdf document and pass the xml data as one of the parameters and this xml data needs to load all the form fields.
Any Idea as to how this can be done?

I have the same requirement as Daminu, but from the research I have been doing it seems your reply is only partially true.
If your PDF is an XFA PDF form, with Reader Extensions enabled, and you want to keep the Reader Extensions functionality for a user to use after your programmatic manipulation, then neither of these tools will work (FDFToolkit or iText).
Upon the user opening the file once it has been programmatically modified, the user will see the following:
From what I have read, this requirement can only be fullfilled by use of LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server?  Please confirm?

  • Repository not loaded after creating images field in main table

    Hi Experts,
I have added an Image field to Main table in Materials repository(by linking the images table).
after this I tried to load my repository, it is still loading. It is taking lot of time but no response yet.
It is showing message like "Loading  Processing charecters indices for 'Products' under repositories list of MDM server.
I am using MDM build version 7.1.01.46. Please let me know what will be the problem.
    Thanks,
    RDNPrasad

    Hi RDNPrasad,
Apart from verifying and repairing your repository, load your repository with update indices. SAP recommends that whenever you do some structural changes to the repository or modifying it through MDM Console, MDM cannot know precisely which indices need to be updated. And as in your case you are adding some image fields to your repository so at the time of loading repository, load it with update indices.
I hope I am able to solve your problem

    Thanks...

    The following should work to load both the date and time (as long as it is not rejected for some reason)date_cancel date "YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS"To display the date and time after it has been loaded, you will have to use on of the following:ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-YYYY HH:MI:SS AM';
    or
    SELECT to_char(<column_name,'DD-MON-YYYY HH:MI:SS AM') from <table_name>;

  • Exception message, failed to get value, could not load managed metadata, invalid field name

Hi, i have created some site collection columns with managed metdata and taxonomy term sets. I have then created some site content types of those site columns. Some of them function properly and some don't.
When i have created or uploaded a document to the document library i start to "tag" the document by first choosing witch conent type i want too use, but when it comes to save the document it renders an error message(its not the full content
    of the message):
"exception message, failed to get value, could not load managed metadata, invalid field name"
I have created some other site content types before and with the same site columns and they do not generate a error message. Is there a solution for my dilemma?

  • How to edit the cube with new fields without changing historical  in BI 7.0

    HI,
I have requirment that need to edit cube with new fields and without changing historical data on it.
Please some one can advise me abt the above scenario.
    Note:I am using BI7.0

    hi Krish,
    In BI 7.0,
we cannot add a characteristic to an existing dimension if the data is not deleted from the cube.
It can go to a new dimension and that will not change the existing structure of the cube tables, but will just add to it (as another dim table).  or use remodeling.
for more details, please seach threads.....

  • Create survey/poll with text fields

I want to create a survey in a meeting with text field type answers.  How would I do this?  I am using the hosted version of Connect and saw some reference to a Presenter add-in for PowerPoint, but don't seem have that.  We would like to have fields such as:
    Participant information (name, contact information
    Suggested future topics
What should I use to do this since the Poll Pod obnly allows for multiple choice or multiple answer options and not key-in fields?
    Karl

Adobe Presenter 7 is a product sold separately from Adobe Connect. Adobe Presenter can be purchased from many resellers.  It is a plug-in for MS Powerpoint and has the ability to upload many times of quizzes and polls in lots of types of formats.  You can download a 30 day trial from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=presenter&loc=en_us
Adobe Presenter is only available for the Windows platform. MS Powerpoint for Mac does not allow third-party plug-ins like Presenter.

  • To capture the selected rows along with edited field contents in alv report

    Dear All,
I do have requirement where, in alv report output one field is editable and need to save the content of the edited field along with the selected rows.
For example If there are 10 records displayed in the alv output with 20 fields.
Out of this 20 fields one field (say XYZ) is editable. Also i have already created a new pushbutton (say ABC) on alv output. Now in the alv output if we maintain some value in the field (XYZ ) for the 2nd and 4th record and select this two records, and when clicked on the pushbutton (ABC) it has to update the DB table.
I am using the Func Module  'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
Your early reply with sample code would be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance.

    HI Naveen ,
There is an import parameter "i_callback_program" in the function module,
plz pass the program name to it.
Capture the command by passing a field of type sy-ucomm to "I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND ".  Check the returned command and
and program a functionality as desired.
u can try the event double_click or at line selection. there u can use READLINE command to c if the line has been selected.
In case it is , process the code segment.
    Regards
    Pankaj
