Hi Krishna,
If your master data is enabled as "Infoprovider" then you can use an export datasource on the ODS and load the data into your master data.
I am not sure if it will work if the master data info-object is not enabled as "Infoprovider".
The other mechanism would be to use an infospoke to download the ODS data into a flatfile. And then use the flatfile to upload the master data.

Hi,
as suggested by the message, did you update the meta data by doing a replication of datasources for the source system 'myself'? If not, do so and reactivate the communication structure. Then reload.

How do I load SIDs into a Master Data Object?

Hi again,
I created an InfoObject WCUSTOMER with 0CUSTOMER as template (NOT reference). That means the structure of these two objects should be identical. Now I want to load WCUSTOMER also with the same data.
I loaded WCUSTOMER with attributes and texts using the InfoSources 0CUSTOMER_ATTR and 0CUSTOMER_TEXT. But of course, SIDs are missing. Otherwise I won't see any data because WCUSTOMER does not know which attribute tables to refer to. Right?
Now how do I get these SIDs into WCUSTOMER? I can see that apparently 0CUSTOMER is using a DataSource called 0CUSTOMER_LKLS_HIER for that purpose. But (1) the BI does not offer me a chance to use this DataSource as well for WCUSTOMER and (2) it wouldnt even make sense because 0CUSTOMER and WCUSTOMER would then refer to the same set of attribute tables which was not the purpose of creating a separate InfoObject for Customers. Right?
So how can I manage to get some SIDs into my WCUSTOMER object in order to use the attribute and text tables I already filled with data?
I hope someone can give me a hint. I'll assign points of course...

Yes, that is what I did. I also went into the InfoObject under "Masetr Data/Texts" and double clicked the three tables listed there.
Did you activate the maser data ? (Right click on
Infoobject to start from context menu)
Just activated it, but still no other result.
Did you load any "Text" for WCUSTOMER ? The text is
what is shown in a bex query, not any attribute (at
least not initially).
I did load the texts. I haven't tried to see them in the Bex Explorer.
Transaction SE16 show the content of a table. I don't
know the table where you will find customer data in
R3.In BW you can look at the data of your WCUSTOMER by looking at
table /BIC/PWCUSTOMER (at least if your name space is
configured similar to ours).
Yeah I checked the table. But also no data visable.
I also checked the list of requests. All they tell me is InfoSource and Datasource, etc. Nothing I wouldn't have expected.
Two things I will have to try:
1. really check if there is data in the R3
2. export 0Customer data and load it as a flatfile.

One PSA request is loaded many time into master data object

Hi All,
We are loading attribute master data into an infoobject. There is one PSA request. But the DTP is loading multiple data requests for each data packet. Usually all data packets loads in a single request but today it created each data packet into a request and created almost 72 requests. Usually we have 2 datapackets in one request.Can any body help me with the reason?

Hi,
It sounds like the DTP settings for your master data loading has changed. Please check if in the DTP settings the "Get All New Data Request by Request" indicator has been set along with the "Retrieve Until No More New Data" indicator. If so, it explains the behaviour that you are reporting.

How to load data for attribute of Master Data Object from PSA

Hi Experts,
I have a Master data Object, 0Equipment.
I loaded data to PSA from R/3.
I am able to see records for Zxxx field in PSA.
I have added a new mapping object Zxxx in BW.
But, when I loaded the data from PSA to Master Data Object, 0Equipment,
I am not able to see records for Zxxx which is an attribute of 0Equipment.
I do see the records for rest of the attributes of this Master Data Object.
I tried deleting and reloading the data
and treid to check attribute change run
Please let me know if I am missing something in loading the Master Data from PSA

I checked all the records in Maintain Master Data and did set the Zxxx Not Equal To Blank.
No data for Zxxx InfoObject, eventhough there is data in the corresponding field in PSA.
I did 1:1 mapping.

Infoset on two Master Data Objects

Hi,
I have two Master data objects one is time dependent ZABC and another master data object 0Material.
Currently I have a report on ZABC which is time dependent master data object which is built on complex logic to get the data.
There is a time interval variable in the selection list.
Business does not allow me to modify the time dependent master data (ZABC) that means to add new attributes division and Material deletion flag.
The ZABC object does not have Division and Material Flag for Deletion attributes.
The business requirment is to add Division and exclude materials which are marked for deletion as 'Y' to the existing report.
Since Division and Material Flag for Deletion is not there in ZABC, I have gone for Infoset between time dependent master data object and 0Material and did left outer join (which pulls all the records from time dependent master data object) and the join condition is Material.
I built new report in query designer exactly like the current report.
When I run both the reports , the newly developed report is not pulling exactly the same records as the current report.
New report is pulling extra records. I mean the new report should pull only the records which are in the time interval.
This is the issue. Please help in this regard.

Load Failure for Master Data object

Dear Sdns,
                    Am doing daily master data loading for VENODR_ATTR master data object.... Am loading it through DELTA Update.... I got an error in Status Tab.
rror message from the source system
Diagnosis
An error occurred in the source system.
System response
Caller 09 contains an error message.
Further analysis:
The error occurred in Service API .
Refer to the error message.
Procedure
How you remove the error depends on the error message.
Note
If the source system is a Client Workstation, then it is possible that the file that you wanted to load was being edited at the time of the data request. Make sure that the file is in the specified directory, that it is not being processed at the moment, and restart the request.
The Error Message is : - Update mode R is not supported by the extraction API.The application program for the extraction of the data was called using
update mode R . However, this is not supported by the InfoSource.
Kindly Help me if any of the Snd people might have face this kind of problem...

Hi Aluri,
The file might be used or being edited by some other person when you are doing the delta.
CHeck the source system connection @ AWB.activate it.
Follow these steps
1. Activate transfer rules for data source in source system.
2. Activate the ODS
3. Activate the update rules (ods to ods and also ods to cube)
5. Right-click at the ODS, choose 'Generate Export Data Source'
6. Replicate the data source
7.se38---->RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL for source system .
Then start data loading again.

Loading to Master data object

A master data object is loaded on a daily basis from R3 (Full Load). In the past there have been loads to the same object via flat files.
A full load from R3 does not overwrite records which are not part of R3 but part of a flat file load, is that correct? Thanks

Just to add (even though it is answerd )
If you had the zero-fill property set in OMSL(?) for material no, these two would values have been treated as one (with zeroes filled on the left). Check table value for field TMCNV-FLAG0 (this should be set to 'X' to have the numeric values zero-filled automatically).
Caution : once this setting is done and materials loaded, it shall never be changed.

Loads to Master data object

If I have created selection packages to load to a master data object for example:
1. Load to 0MAT_PLANT
2. Five packages created filtered by plant range
If I kick off the first package do I need this load to finish before the second package can load into the object i.e. 0MAT_PLANT is locked by the first package or can I load packages in parallel to a master data object? If so how? Thanks

Thanks for that, have carried that out. I have observed the following would be grateful if someone could confirm
1. Have a package running 2+ million lines
2. Kick off a package with a few hundred thousand lines after the first package, will complete before first package
3. Get an error since the extract completes in R3. However cannot load to the object since it is locked by the first
4. Message below:

Can a master data will have loading from more than one data source

Dear gurus,
I have a master data object which has every day loading from one particular data source. Now I got a requirement to load data from another data source. If we load data from more than one data source , will there be any problem with data? Will it accept loading from more than one data source.?

Hi Ram,
We can load the data to target morethan one datasource.Thats advantage in BI compare to BW. It will accept loading from more than one datasource.but you have to take care about characteristic and attributes are the same in both datasources like that.

Summing up key figure in Cube - data load from ODS

Hello Gurus,
I am doing a data load from ODS to cube.
The records in ODS are at line-item level, and all needs to be summed up at header level. There is only one key-figure. ODS has header and line-item fields.
I am loading only header field data ( and not the item-field data) from ODS to Cube.
I am expecting only-one record in cube ( for all the item-level records) with all the key-figures summed up. But couldn't see that.
Can anyone please explain how to achieve it.
I promise to reward points.

It is "summation". And it cannot be changed. (Or at least I do not know how to change it.)
There are other dimensions in the cube - which corresponds to the field(s) in ODS.
But, I just mentioned these two (i.e. header and item-level) for simplicity.

Problem when loading from ODS to the CUBE

Hi Experts,
I am facing an unusual problem when loading data from ODS to the cube.
I have a first level ODS where the delta postings are updated. I have checked the active table of the ODS and the data is accurate.
I have deleted the entire data from the Cube and trying to do a full load from ODS to the CUBE.
I am sure when I run a full load the data goes from Active table of the ODS.
After the full load the the keyfigure values are 0. I have tried doing the testing by loading couple of sales documents and still the keyfigure values are 0.
I wonder when I load the full. The data should be picked exactly the way it is in active table of the ODS.
I also dont have any fancy routines in the update rules.
Please help me in this regard.

Check the procedure did u do that exactly or not. just follow the the laymen steps here:... and let me know ur issue
o     First prepare a flat file in Microsoft excel sheet for master data and transaction data and save it in .CSV format and close it.
o     First select info objects option and create info area then create info object catalog then char, & key figure. Then create id in Char, Name as attribute activate it then in key figures create no and activate it.
o     In info sources create application component then create info source with direct update for master data and flexible update for transaction data. The flat files would be created for master data create info package and execute it.
o     For transaction data go to info provider then select the file right click on it then select option create ODS object. Then a new screen opens give the name of the ODS and create other screen opens then drag character to key fields.
o     Activate it then update rules it will give error to it then go to communication structure and give 0Record mode then activate it then go to update rules it will activate it.
o     Then go to info source then create info package then external data then processing update, Data targets then the scheduling then click start then the monitor.
o     Then other screen opens there we can see if we doesnt able to see the records then come back to the info provider right click on it then other screen opens then select the option activate data in ODS then a screen opens.
o     so select the option QM where it would be in a yellow co lour then by double click then another screen opens then select green color option then click continue it and it comes to the previous screen then select the option and click save it would be underneath of it just click it up and close it.
o     Then come back to the main screen to the info source to the info package go to the package and right click on it then a screen opens then click schedule without distributing any of the tab directly click the monitor tab. Then refresh it until the records come to the green.
o     Once it is green the click the data target and see the file executed.
o     Now go to the info provider then a right click on the file name then create info cube. Then a new screen opens and gives the name and activates it. The drag the key figures to the other side, time characteristics to the other side, and chacetristics to the other side.
o     Then create the dimension table then assign it and activate it .Then go to file name right click on it then select the option create update rules select ODS option and give the file name and activate it .
o     Then come back to the main screen and refresh it. Whenever you see 8 file names you will know that it is undergoing the data mart concept.
o     In the main screen click ODS file right click then a pop up screen opens select the option update ODS data target. Then another screen opens in that we are able to see 2 options full update, initial update then select initial update.
o     Then another screen opens info Package there the external data , data targets , scheduler select the option later in background option then a another screen opens just click immediate then click save automatically it closes then click start option.
o     Then select monitor option then the contents then the field to be elected then the file to be executed.

Master data object - Available for reporting related

Hi Colleagues,
I want to load some 'duplicates' to info Object X. Meaning I have all values same but differ in one attribute. (Key is same). I do not want to use compounding for few reasons. I have not explored on functinality masterdata for reporting (Flexible update, not sure i used correct word) Can you please extend help in understanding the following..
Questions 1:
I understand that I can make available for reporting the existing master data object.
2) Can I add some code to allow duplicates there?
3) Can still the infoobjet navigational attributes has the same functionality - meaning they can be reported from reports of this newly extended masterdata?

Infoobject alread exists with out the attribute below at the monet. It is also available in the cubes for my reporting on cubes..I would like to add the following attribute for my phase 2 for my new reporting needs..
Data:
<u>Infoobject - Attribute,</u>
SKU1 - GRP1
SKU1 - GRP2
SKU2 - GRP2
The issue is with the 1st 2 records.. As I do not have the componding.. My Cube already have Infoobject with lots of data... I do not want to add attribute componding as it demands for the presence in the cubes also. So I have to double the current data base size.. Ahh I do not want this..
Coming to reporting on the cube
I would like to report on both the things.. Like..
Including attribute
SKU1 GRP1 abcd
SKU1 GRP2 abcd
SKU2 GRP3 xyz
excluding attribute
SKU1 abcd
SKU2 xyd
We do not have any keyfigures..none is related with time..

Unable to activate a Z Master data object

Hi All,
We have a master data object already with some Attributes loaded. I have added few more info objects as attributes to the same and marked them as Navigational. But I'm unable to activate this Master data object. "Error in activating the info objects". I repaired the info object from RSD1 (RSDG_IOBJ_REORG), and then tried to activate it. But in vain. Tried to activate it back ground. The job IOBJ_ACTIVATE is successful but in the job log it says . "Characteristic Z_ORD_MD: Error when generating master data routines
Error when resetting InfoObject Z_ORD_MD to the active version"
We have recently upgraded our BW system from 3.5 to BI 7.0. Requesting your expertise in solving this issue.

The load from ODS - 0FIAP_O03 to cube 0FIAP_C03 is duplicating records

I need some help/advice for the following issue
SAP BW version 3.5
The Delta load for ODS - 0FIAP_O03 works correctly
The load from ODS - 0FIAP_O03 to cube 0FIAP_C03 is duplicating records
NB Noticed one other forum user who has raised the same issue but question is not answered
My questions are
1. Is this a known problem?
2. Is there a fix available from SAP?
3. If anyone has had this issue and fixed it, could you please share how you achieved this

Hello Pushpa,
I assume that you are using the Delta load to the initial ODS and then to the CUBE as well.
If the Delta is placed in both the places then there should not be any issue while sending the data to CUBE.
If you are using the FULL Load then normally the data will gets aggregated in the cube as objects are with the Addition mode in the Cube.
Can you post the exact error that you are facing here as this also can be of the design issue.
