Loading images in browser causes JACK device to glitch/get stuck

Hi,
I'currently setting up my laptop for audio production.
My Problem: any 'graphical operation', that is, clicking on a dropdown menu etc, is
a) slow. even if there is nothing else running, there's a very high latency when clicking, say, Firefox' 'file' menu
b) causes audible sound glitches (NOT xruns in jack, the xrun count doesn't increase).
The sound glitches are not recoreded (seemingly) but very unnverving. If i don't click anything,
there are no noises ...
I tried the proprietary nvidia driver, but that seemed even slower.
My CPU is already running at maximum (performance governor)
Anyone got a hint ?
System Details:
Core2Due (x86_64) / nvidia (using nouveau) / awesome-wm / 3.2.17-rt28 kernel
Audio Details:
Echo Audiofire 4 / ffado / ardour2 / jack 1.9.8 (8.7ms latency setting)

    Why does iTunes SUCK??
    1) Many items greyed out in the menu bar, for well over 2 years, maybe more!
    2) I Can't drag more than one piece of content from your iTunes library to any device (iPhone, iPad)
    If you do it gets stuck for HOURS and HOURS in "Preparing To Update" and the little activity circle never completes, ever!!
    I used to be able to drag over 1000 tunes, movies, etc. go have breakfast come back and it would all be on my device!!
    Can't do it anymore, one song at a time, maybe an album at a time, or one movie, and that is it!!
    If you do a 2nd item the other items stop loading and never continue!!
    This is so BAD, I don't understand how they don't have this fixed yet!!
    Please tell me I am not the only one!!
    ...and If I am tell me how to fix it!
    Very appreciated,

  • Wont load image in browser or on kiosk using flash player 9?

    I have made an swf that runs on a kiosk. It has a huge
    panoramic view that people can scroll from side to side and the
    such. It plays perfectly on this computer and at my home. But when
    I load it onto the kiosk it was meant for which uses winxp and
    flashplayer 9 to run the file; the panoramic view is just a red
    background. I have it set to export hidden files? (not sure what
    that means) Of course I'm desperate for a solution!:) Any help or
    direction to find a solution would be greatly appreciated. (I'm
    only a novice)
    Edit: I might add that the jpg file is huge 13200x768 if that
    helps?
    Edit: The picture doesn't load but you can tell it's
    scrolling from side to side just showing a red background
    color?

    NO !
    You should have ONLY one MAIN projector file that loads
    external SWF files.
    So in your main projector file you will have commands like
    loadMovieNum("name.swf",0)
    That should help you.
    If you need more control over your projector file, i.e not
    right click or
    top menus, disable esc key esc, then please look at

    Connect your phone to iTunes.  You will probably get a pop-up telling your it detected your phone in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored.

  • Images fail to load into the browser

    Hello,
    Sometimes images fail to load into the browser (they show up as a red "X"). Does anyone know why? Refreshing often loads them correctly, but then a different image will not load (and show a red "X").
    Thanks very much,
    Andy

    Hi Vikas,
    Thank you very much for your help on this. I am now using a faster computer and the problem no longer happens. I did understand your suggestion - I was brainstorming ideas to make changes to APEX to account for slow computers, or computers without enough memory. To somehow guarantee a level of service for APEX applications at the end user's browser. Similar to how Oracle Enterprise manager can help guarantee certain SLAs for J2EE web applications, by monitoring performance from the browser all the way back to the disk. (I'm not sure if it 100% can do this today, but I believe this is the direct it is headed).
    Well, I suppose if everyone uses fast computers this is no longer an issue. But, sometimes fast computers are hard to come by.
    Thanks again for your help,
    Andy

  • Save / Load Image on device storage (iOS & Android)

    Has anyone used application storage on iOS / Android ?
    I need to be able to take a photo with the device and save that photo to the application rather than the device camera roll. When my app is opened I need to read these images and load them.
    Any help with how to tackle this would be highly appreciated.
    Cheers!

    So I'm able to get the camera to take the photo or choose from library and get the image added to the stage.  Once I get the image added to the stage.. how do I save that image?     and then when my app is opened .. how do I check if that image exists and then load it up?
    Ideally ..  I would like to check if  1.png exists .. if it does.. add it to the stage in a predefined space. Hopefully that makes some sense
    function addToStage():void {
       trace("Image was added to Stage");
      imgLoader = new Loader();
      imgLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, drawBitmap);
      imgLoader.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, errorHandlerIOErrorEventHandler);
      imgLoader.loadFilePromise(imagePromise);
    function drawBitmap(e:Event):void{
      if (image != null && contains(image)){
    mcHolder.mcImg.removeChild(image);
    myBitmapData = new BitmapData(600,600);
       image = new Bitmap(myBitmapData);
       image.bitmapData = Bitmap(e.currentTarget.content).bitmapData;
       trace("Original Image Width = " + image.width + " Height = " + image.height);
       trace("Bitmap was drawn");
      mcHolder.mcImg.addChild(image);
      createGestouch();

  • Set browser to NOT load images or videos to reduce data usage

    On the Bold 9900 I could tell the browser to NOT load images or videos. This helps dramtically reduce data usage when all Im interested in is the text of articles.
    The Reader mode is not the same since the page with all its content has already been loaded.
    I also find the Reader mode often results in a message that this page cannot load in Reader mode.

    Sorry I misunderstood, although I do understand what you're saying. I received a notification saying that I was being charged by my service provider due to overlimiting my data usage. I then telephoned telus and I was told it is simply the type of phone that is now able for a 4g network and so on. This being said, the phone store also checked my phone to see if I had any apps still open that I was unaware of. I not use facebook on phone but was told that that is a big hog of data. Anyways, it was also suggested that I use wi-fi wherever possible. I found al this to be unknown to me as on my other BlackBerry phones, I had never gone over my little bit of 750mb ever. Now with this phone, 4 days before cycle ends, it's suggested to buy 3 g just "to be on the safe side". All said, I may or may not be able to reduce to 1.5 g. This classic phone requires extra data just to simply be connected to a network is what the telus provider and the store clerk both tell me. sorry I could not provide definite answer for you.

  • Browsers not loading images, pages loading like text pages.

    I've had an issue for months now that comes and goes where images will not load on any browser I use. When the issue comes up, I'll open all the browsers I have to find its occuring on all of them, they are: Safari, Chrome and Firefox.
    I'm also getting an issue where pages will load like a text or source page. I've tried clearing the cache and resetting Safari, restarting my iMac, but it doesn't work. Then when I used the computer later in the day it'll be fine, it's an issue that comes and goes throughout the day and I'm not sure what's causing it or how to fix it.
    Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

  • Best way to save images streamed from web to device?

    We have an app for browsing a catalog that streams content from a web server. There is an image for each product, some in JPG format and some in PNG format. Our server is fast and reliable so everything has been running smoothly so far, but we'd like to give users the option of saving the data to their device so they don't have to stream every time. I've only worked with SharedObjects before, which are capped at 100kb and won't be useful in this situation.
    What would be the best approach for storing the images, and keeping them from being overwritten during updates? Saving an uncompressed Bitmap will use too much storage space. Adobe's JPEGEncoder class is completely useless as it takes 10-30 seconds to save a moderately-sized image on a typical device. It also doesn't make sense to re-encode the JPGs, and we need to preserve the transparency in the PNGs.
    Right now we're using a Loader to retrieve the images and using loader.content to access the image data in code. Is it possible to save the image file in its original format locally when it is downloaded with a Loader? We would want the images stored in the application data and not accessible through the gallery. As for saving the data for each product (e.g. price, description, etc), would the built-in SQLite support be sufficient or should we create our own files?
    Thanks for any tips!

    We typically use a native extension to do this, but it is certainly possible in ActionScript.
    When the file has been downloaded, we save it to the applicationStorageDirectory.
    Next time, we check to see if exists locally, if so - use that and don't download.
       var file:String = renameFile(_externalHttpImage);
       //see if we already have a copy of the image
       var loader:Loader = new Loader();
       var ba:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
       if( fileExists(file)){
        file = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath(file).nativePath;
        loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, local_loader_complete);
        loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, errorOnChargeFile);
        var f:File = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath(file);
        if( f.exists){
         var fs:FileStream;
         try {
          //now load the size of the file
          fs = new FileStream();
          fs.open(f, FileMode.READ);
          fs.readBytes(ba);
          //  trace("READ " + fs.readUTF());
          fs.close();
         catch(e:Error){
          trace( "Error Loading Image File  '" +file + ": " +  e.message+ "\n"+ e.getStackTrace());
        loader.loadBytes(ba);

    Yes, you're right.
    To solve (until a next release) I done:
    pacman -Rcd gtk2
    pacman -A /var/cache/pacman/pkg/gtk2-2.4.0-1.pkg.tar.gz
    And avoid to do pacman -Su ...
    Thanks and bye.

  • Safari is loading webpages extremely slow and not loading images...

    Not loading webpages a lot of the time and not loading images on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. I'm new to Mac and I'm running Safari on a Mac Mini. Help? Also deleted ~/Libraries/Safari and it didn't work.

    Please answer as many of the following questions as you can.
    1. Have you restarted your router and broadband modem since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
    2. Are any other web browsers installed, and are they also slow?
    3. What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
    4. Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they also slow?
    5. If you can test Safari on another network, is it slow there too?
    6. If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

  • Loading Images into Applets

    I've been having problems loading an image into an Applet. I've found that when the getImage() call is put into the init() method it loads the image fine, also implementing an imageUpdate call. However, now I'm trying to expand on this by putting it into a button click, it hangs indefinitely while waiting for the image to load.
    Another interesting point I've noticed is that the Canvas subclass ImageSegmentSelector uses a PixelGrabber in its constructor to put the Image into a buffer - when this class is created from the imageUpdate() call, NOT the init() call, the grabPixels() call hangs indefinitely too!!
    Any feedback, please,

    You can load a file if the applet itself is run from the local filesystem - it loads it fine from the init(), but not otherwise. But I haven't got the applet to run from a browser yet without crashing (it's OK in the IDE debugger), so that's the next step.

  • I can't find my previous ??? concerning if it is possible to load songs from a "non-apple" device into iTunes

    I can't fnd the question I asked in here roughly an hour ago - concerning if I can load songs from a "non-apple" device. I have a SanDisk that I'd like to load my songs into iTunes - is this possible?

    A.C.,
    These links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…
    Don King Resurrected: Deleted files from hard drive (free user steps – music recovery only)
    MacMuse: Computer Crashed (free user steps – music recovery only)
    Copying music from iPod to computer (a primer on various methods and software)
    Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC (resource for 3rd party software)
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
    Senuti (Mac OS X v10.3 or higher Recovery Utility)
    XPlay (Software For Music Recovery &/or Cross-Platform Functionality)
    XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
    After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation (and many other potential disasters).
    You need at least two full sets of your music, not including what is on the iPod:
    -- One full set on the PC within iTunes (on internal HD or ExHD)
    -- One full set on an separate external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
    -- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
    Music files on just the iPod and only one other medium is not considered having any backup.
    If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer’s internal HD, then create and maintain at least two external sets (any multiple combinations of ExHDs, DVDs, CDs).
    Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). What are the iTunes Library files?
    Here is a post on developing a thorough backup strategy: http://discussions.apple.com/click.jspa?searchID=394618&messageID=1263275
