Loading inventory History

Hi,
We are loading Period ending Inventories and Material Prices using Business content data sources 0CO_PC_ACT_02 and 0CO_PC_ACT_05 into Standard Infocube 0COPC_C04.
The implementation was done in early 2002 and we have data from period 12/2001 to till date in BW. Now the user is saying there was some data in 2001 in R/3, and he want us to recover data from 01/2001 to 011/2001.
But functionally, these data sources provide data only of the current period and previous periods. Now we need to recover the history data from 01/2001 to 011/2001.
The data looks coming from MBEW and MBEWH. Building generic extractors looks complex and I assume it will not work.
Any ideas of how can we extract the missed inventory history into BW?
Regards,
Suman

Hi Dave,
I am afraid creating a new database is your only option.
For old data, you may still keep access for certain reports. All open items has to be imported to new db. It is a kind of manual archiving. Your database performance will gain a lot though.

  • ExcelToCI not loading correct history data.

We are using ExcelToCI to load history data on JOB_DATA component. The action used is UPDATE as the data is loaded at Scroll - Level 1. The row is intended to be added between 2 rows i.e. between CURRENT and HISTORY (or between 2 history rows) and only a few fields need to change. The row gets inserted, however the problem is that the data in the newly inserted row is from the succedding/ current row rather than previous/ history row.
Following is the expected behaviour of the system as per the excerpt from Administer Workforce PeopleBook 9.0 page 553:
__When you enter a new data row, the system copies the contents of the previous row into the new row—thus__
__you do not have to retype any information that stays the same. (Ensure that you position the cursor on the__
__data row that you want to copy before you insert the new row.) The only new information is the effective__
__date, which is set by default to the system date (usually today’s date).__
The above is the normal system behaviour but the ExcelToCI is not conforming to that. Has someone faced the same issue?
    Faraz

ExcelToCI is not really designed for and is certainly not guaranteed to work with large, complex CIs. They don't come much larger or more complex than JOB_DATA, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that it isn't working as expected.
Look for the ExcelToCI_Troubleshooting_Guide.doc on Oracle Support, and/or read the "Using the Excel to Component Interface Utility" chapter in the PeopleTools Component Interfaces PeopleBook. The PeopleBook description of the Action setting has some specific advice on handling effective dated rows.

  • Intranet sites do not load from history

Firefox loads the wrong site when you attempt to visit a site from the location bar history, if that site is on an intranet and contains a space in the name.
These sites can be visited if you type the address by hand, and they work from if you select the link from the History tab, but they dont' work if you try to select them from the drop-down list that appears under the location bar.

Here are the steps to recreate the bug:
    1. Visit an intranet site that has a space in the name. http://server/share/look at this file.html
    2. Close the tab
    3. Type part of the file name in the address bar
    4. Select the site from list of suggestions (it will appear as server/share/look at this file.html)
    5. Firefox will use the URL as a search term in your default search engine

  • API for loading inventory org access for responsibilities

    Hi there,
I need to give Inventory Organization Access to more then 100 responsiibilities. Is there an api that I can use that would load this information into org_access table? I am on 12.1.2 version of EBS.
    Thanks
    Irina.

I am not aware of any api for this.
You can consider using a key-mapping software such as Data loader / winparrot
    OR
you can write your own script to insert records into the table. It should be a straight forward insert. You just need to ensure that the combination of organization_id, responsibility_id and application_id is valid.

  • Error loading Inventory Service

Just completed several installs of Zen for Desktops 6.5 SP2. No problems
except for one server that will not load the Inventory service. Tried
renaming the Zenworks folders and reinstalling, deleting the objects and
reinstalling, etc... Found the following TID:
    http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/se...i?10098429.htm which
describes a situation where the security folder is not created in <ZENworks
install volume>ZENworks/zws. The fix is supposed to be just creating a
security folder and copying a zws.properties file from a working server.
This does not work. I looked at one of my functioning servers and there are
2 files: .keystore and keypair.dat located in the working servers security
    folder.
How do I generate a new .keystore and new keypair.dat files? Is there
something similar to tckeygen.ncf I can use to recreate these files?
    Many thanks

  • Preventing duplicate form submission when page is loaded from history

    Hi
We have record insertion forms some of which insert unique
records into sql databases and some which may not. Is there a way
of stopping the user pulling the page from history (or using the
back button) and then resubmitting the data?
I have put a trigger on the databases that basically updates
existing data rather than re-inserting it if a duplicate is entered
but as some of the record submissions are not unique this isn't
always possible. I would also rather restrict the submission client
side to reduce bandwidth and database calls.
I have tried various 'no caching' techniques on the page but
none seem to work. Anyone have any bright ideas ... I am all out of
    ideas bright or not!!!
    TIA
    Karen

    Karen
I have used session variables to control this sort of thing.
    Basically the
insert/update statement tests for the existance of a variable
    with a
particular name. If no variable exists then this will
    indicate that the
request is coming from a history file, and it will not allow
    the process.
Equally as part of the insert process change the value in the
    variable and
do not allow and insert if the variable holds that value.

  • Inventory data load from Inventory Cube to another Copy Cube

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to load Inventory data from the Inventory cube(say YCINV) to a copy cube  say YCOPY_CINV(copy of Inventory cube), but the results appear inconsistant when I compare the reports on these 2 cubes. I am trying to populate a fiield in copy cube so that I can populate the same data back to the original cube with the new field in it, I am doing this reload back and forth for historical data purpose only.
I have seen lot of posts as how to run the setups for Inventory data, but my case does not need to perform set up runs.
Does the note 1426533 solve the issue of loading from one cube to another ? we are on SAP BI 7.01 with SP 06 ,but the note specifies SP 07 ?
I have tried note 375098 to see if it works, but I do not see the options as mentioned from  step "Using DTP (BW 7.x)" in BI to perform this note
Please advise on whether to go with implementing note 1426533 or is there any other way to load inventory data from one cube to other.
    Regards,
    JB

    Hi Luis,
    Thanks for your reply,
I do not see any setting like Intial stock in DTP except "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative". I did try using the option "initial non-cumulative for non- cumulative" ,but the results still do not match with the inventory cube data.I do not see the check box for marker in the copy cube (under roll up tab). Please let me know if we can really implement this solution ,i.e. copying from inventory cube to copy cube and then re-loading it back to inventory cube for historical data. Currenlty, I am comparing the queries on these 2 cubes, if the data matches then I can go  ahead and implement it in Production, other wise it would not be wise to do so .

  • Inventory Management Loading clarification - loading BX , BF and UM

    Hi,
I want to load inventory management from scratch.
I have ready lots of documents from this site related to this but still unsure.
In SAP document, It says that BX should be compressed with NO MARKER UPDATE and  while BF and UM should be compressed with NO MARKER Update box checked.
I also read some where that
BX and UM should be compressed with No marker update not selected while only BF should be compressed with marker update box checked.
which is the correct version or whats the difference between these two.
    thanks

    Hi Vaidya,
Inventory calculate all non cumulative values based on a reference +/- delta principle.
The reference is called the marker.
Answer to the question when should I do a marker update?
Initially, for first load to BW, if R/3 system has gone live earlier, each material would have some stock value in the plant. But if BW has to load only deltas , then it should have this initial stock figures.
So we do a statsitcal run for BX. This statistical run.. consider intial stock of R/3 when it went live + incoming material movement documents - outgoiong material movements and loads BX.
So after this load in BW, we compress the request in BW to create our marker to say 100PCS for material A in plant A as on 31.03.2009.
Now if you are interested in seeing on what were material movements(incoming/outgoing)  for 01.02.2009 in BW, you would have to load BF to BW.
So you rean intialization for BF and loaded BF in BW.
But this movement of material A on 01.02.2009 was considered in getting our marker value when we did BX load. This is because in our statistical run for BX we had calculated = R/3 initail stock + incoming movements - outgoing movements until 31.03.2009. So if we consider this historical movement for marker uppdae again our marker would become incorrect.
So when we load BF until 31.03.2009(initialization run) we do not update the marker. So we compress the marker without update.
From 31.03.2009 onward when you load detlas to BW for BF and UM every day, you would like to update the marker to keep it current as of date.
ie say material A moved out on 01.04.2009 - 20 pcs.
say material A moved in on 03.04.2009 - 40 pcs.
So on 4th when you load delta and update the marker , the marker value would be - 100 - 20 + 40 =120.
You update the marker because business is most often interested to see stock of previous or two to three days before. If the marker is updated then it has to check fewer records to get the delta to goe the the stock figure then.
Thus, for all future delta loads you would compress with marker update.
    Hope this helps,
    Best regards,
    Sunmit.

  • Loading History Data

    Hi All.
I have some data loaded in BW flow from Nov 13 to Till date. Its a daily load. Now the client wants the data before Nov. 13 also. One month data has above 2 crore records. Its an FIGL Load.As its a daily load,i have a small window of time to load the history data before the daily data load happens. So i plan to load data for 1 month at a time.
How to go about this.Repair Full i need to do?Have not done it before, can anyone guide?Any chance of PSA getting corrupt? How will delta work
?Will it affect the daily load?Do i need to make the history request red in PSA to load and then load into my flow maually when the daily chain is not going as the FIGL load goes into many other flows. Its in the Production so if anything goes wrong.Everything will be impacted.
    Thanks
    Aditya

    My understanding was this:
You enhanced BW cube with 2 fields, move to prod. everything was fine.
On BPC Side you loaded data from BW Enhanced cube by usig DM pkges as-usual. But your BPC cube was doubled after this load.
If yes then, Check as suggested above.
One more major point here. You did bw cube enhanced as your business in BW only(guess). For added fields you may be loaded historical data.  am i right.think so.
So now your BW cube have historical data till now. When coming BPC cube, you may not be deleted data from  BPC Cube (old data) which you loaded, because its not necessary. If your BPC have some data before this load, then after this load its may doubled. because BW Cube have historical data.  BPC Cube old data was lied in bw historical data, whatever option you used at DM pkg, you get double.
Even if you loaded delta pkg at BPC side also you will get doubled. because source bw cube have old data in new request form.
for BW enhancement - BW deleted data and reloaded
For BPC - didn't deleted, without deletion, data requested from bw cube, so bpc data will be double.
Work around: if above my points are right then you just delete BPC cube data and reload whole again.
When enhancing BW cubes which are used in BPC models. need to remember about this data issue.
    Thanks.

  • Inventory Load

    Hi
I am loading data for inventory .. I have 3 dataources BX, BF and UM.
My question is once we complete setup table filling and loading into BI, shall we delete the contents of application area '03' every time before proceeding to setup table filling for next datasource e.g for BF after filling BX.
    Kindly advice.

These three datasources are related to inventory. BF is for opening stock, BX is for material movements and UM is valuations. Before loading this data into BW you need to maintain some settings in R/3 side.
According to SAP NOTE:315880.T-code BF11.Activate the flag NDI will reflect in table "TBE11" For the entry "NDI".
    2. set the application indicator 'BW' to active using Transaction 'BF11' . which will make tick mark(x) for the field AKTIV for the APPLK ='BW' in table TBE11.
    3. Activate the PROCESSKEY under "Maintain Industry Sector"
    4. Generated "STOCK INITIALIZATION" for 2LIS_03_BX.
    5. Filled setup tables for "INVENTORY CONTROLLING"
    6. Scheduled the InfoPackage for 2LIS_03_BX with update mode "GENERATE INITIAL STATUS.
    then load BF and UM
There is a PDF available how to load inventory..just search for it in SDN.
