Loading iPod on One Computer and Using on Another

I've purchased an iPod as a gift and want to load it with music before giving it to the person. She's in the hospital and can't set it up herself. What does she need to do when she gets home to make her computer the home computer for the iPod instead of mine?

This will delete the music on the ipod and reload it
with her own music in her iTunes.
She doesn't have an iTunes library. I'm creating it for her on my computer with her music. Her husband has sent me all of her CDs since she's in the hospital for a month or more.

yes.. you will need to find a third party program that will take the songs from the ipod to the computer.. you wont be able to do it without a third party program.. they consider it sharing music, which as i am sure you know is illegal.

I have a iPod mini but share a computer with my sister who just got the lastest nano. Can I add her ipod to my computer while my mini is already on there? Can we share the itunes and import the same songs to our ipods? How does it work? I use Windows XP but don't want to go through the hassel of have to Itunes running off one computer.

Don't know what an iPod mini is. To answer your question about sharing computer. You can use the same library if you want. THere are many ways to do that just make sure to not have them both plugged in at the same time.
Te easiest way to share would be to use one user account. Both iPOds would get the same libary and music.
The next way is to have two different user accounts. Have the music in a shared folder and you can both use the dame music files but can have different playlist and ratings.

Connecting ipod to new computer and using itunes library

Can anybody help. Iam ready to throw my ipod in the bin. I recently bought a new computer and downloaded itunes onto it. When I connect my ipod it keeps saying the ipod is linked to another itunes library and it displays a new itunes library on the computer now with none of my old songs, but they are still on my ipod itself. I do not have my old computer either.
The new itunes library that comes up will let me download music onto it but wont let me sync it to the ipod so i cant put anymore tunes on it. Any ideas?

Connect your iPod to your new computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

Two iPods on one computer *BUT* using two computer accounts

Just got another ipod for my son, so we made a new computer user in windows for my son to use (so now he has a windows account and I have a windows account), and added itunes to this new user's site. Now when I plug in my iPod mini on my computer account, I get the following message:
"Another user on this computer is using the iPod software, so iTunes is unable to communicate with this ipod. Please ask the user to log out."
So I've tried switching users and when I do, the iTunes has popped up and my mini icon is on my son's iTunes which has opened up. I've tried exiting his program and logging off his windows account but the same thing happens when I plug in my mini. Is there a way to stop this?

OK ,try this when you are logged into your XP account
1) Quit iTunes
2) Eject the iPod using Windows Explorer.
3) Go to Task manager > Processes tab.
4) Click on the Image Name column to sort alphabetically.
5) End iPodService.exe and iTunesHelper.exe.
6) Click Start > Run and copy this string into the blank box
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"
keep the quotes, they are needed
7) Start iTunes
8) Plug in your iPod

Can you take sofeware written on one computer and use it on another.

We have a problem with the apllication maybe or the gpib. The apllication was working on one computer, but we change out that computer now we can get the program to work. A error message is generated (-107---) and fail to set up the test equipment.

Is there a way to un-sync my iPod from one computer and then sync it to another computer with iTunes without losing all my data or downloading software?

Hi, I'm selling my current computer that my iPod is synced to and want to un-sync (I think the correct term of phase is) my iPod from my current computer, so i can then sync it to my new computer without downloading any software or deleting all my data. Is this possible? If so, please tell me how. As usual, any help would be helpful.

Do this:
- iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
- Then import into your new computer
- Copy any synced photos to the new computer
- Backup the ipd to the new computer

currently I'm using LR 5 (Windows) on a laptop computer which I'm planning to replace with a newer one in some days.
I've searched on the forum about how to transfer a license from one computer to another but could not find a solution the works for me.
There where some threads dealing with this question but for other Adobe products (PS ...)
I also installed a version of Lightroom on my Desktop computer
I suppose somehow I have to make sure the LR get's deactivated on my laptop before I can install it on my new one ?

I was just asking because I've read some people had problems and got error messages saying the "maximum installation of 2 computers were reached".

So is there a difference in activation using the "stand alone version" which you can by for about $150 and the CC subscription version which is about $10/month ?

How to create a slideshow on one computer and edit on another?

I have created a slideshow on my home computer but need to be able to edit it on my work computer. I have all of the photos on both computers, but I don't see how to transfer the slideshow. It is an extensive show with a lot of editing that has already been done.

I am trying to manage 3 different ipods from a single library, but as my daughter wants to use the album cover feature, the suggestion of separate playlists doesn't work.
When I attached her ipod, the ticked items from our library are those on my ipod - is it possible for itunes to recognise which items she has on her ipod from the main library without using playlists.
I can't see from this article "http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1495" how to share a library and just select different tunes (other than doing it entirely manually which means everyone time we connect an ipod we have to remember which songs belong to which ipod).
Ideally we want a central repository, but with different selections for each ipod from the same repository - is this possible?
