Loading Itunes TV show to Video Ipod fails

I purchased an Itunes season pass for BCS football games. The pregame content and the the short cut version (approx 20 minutes runtime each) loaded fine. When trying to get the full broadcast transfered from Itunes to the Pod (2+ hours of content) it will stop about 10 minutes shy of completion with error message saying the disk can neither be read from or written to. This has happened 4 times now. i even bought a new song, downloaded it, and moved it to the pod with no problem. I reset the Ipod and it still fails. All software for tunes and pod is up to date. Any help?
pc xp pro

That article doesnt address my issue. In troubleshooting, i went and bought another Itunes song, and it loaded fine. Further, this error occured twice prior to me loading one of the smaller video selections. The smaller file loaded fine. If a purchased video selection is corrupt, how do i get a replacement?

  • Downloading TV Shows to VIdeo IPOD

I downloaded some tv shows through a tv tuner onto my hard drive. I also purchased Quick Time Pro and have it installed on my desktop. Somehow, while fiddling around with the tv videos, I got them into itunes. The videos play in itunes, but I cannot get them downloaded to my ipod. How did the videos get into itunes and how can I get them into my ipod? I purchased some video from itunes and they work perfectly on my ipod.

I'm not too sure why but I think iTunes (video) is featured to be able to playback most of quicktime format videos. Handy for most but lil confusing for new ipod users. Meaning you're able to store any quicktime videos in iTunes for instant playback on desktop. But for iPod to be able to play it back, it has to be of a specific format. Either m4v/mp4 with mp3/aac audio with average bitrate no more than 640kbps.
Having quicktime pro should help you a bit with the conversion. In short it can help you compress prefereably higher quality video to the lower quality iPod format and never vise versa. In QTPro, Open the video/mov file that you want to have into your iPod. Then select Export As (Apple+E).... and you will see one of the choices as Movie to iPod (320x240). The rest should be dandy from then on. Import the exported file into iTunes or directly into your iPod's video folder.
If you're refering to wmv video which is played back with quicktime thru 3rd party plugin like Flip4Mac, these are definite no go for iPods which only takes quicktime format.
These advise are all from personal experience. Best to ask the video experts or google-up on video conversion and compressions for ipods. Good luck!

  • Can't put iTunes Store items on Video iPod

Hi everyone... hopefully someone can help me out!
I have a brand new Video iPod, a flat panel Mac G4 using Tiger 10.4.4, and iTunes 6.0.2.
Every song and audiobook that I have purchased from the iTunes store will NOT go on my iPod. It keeps telling me that "some of the songs in the iTunes music library were not copied to the iPOD because your iPod software is too old." Ok, I know that's not the case because it's brand new, but I updated everything anyway.
What I finally noticed is that the songs are locked. When I see them in my music folder on my hard drive, they have a little lock icon in the upper left corner of the music icon which, coincidentally, is in a M4P format. All the songs I have purchased, and the 3 audiobooks as well, are all like that- locked and M4P format (or MP4).
Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, do you know how I can get this stuff on my iPod? Every question sent to Apple has been met with the same "solution" of either update it, restore it, restart it, etc. I've done all that. It appears to be something to do with the fact that these things are locked. Can I unlock them somehow??

Yes and no... I am TRYING to use the latest update of the software, which is "iPod updater 2006-01-10." It says I am updated, so I tried to put my "purchased" music on my iPod and it still gives me the message that I am unable to add those songs because my iPod software is too old. So I went to restore it instead, and the updater software says I need to connect using the firewire. But when I use the firewire it doesn't recognize the iPod!
I took the songs giving me trouble and put them on a CD. I imported the CD onto my laptop. From there I was able to restore the iPod, finally, and I was able to put those elusive "purchased" songs on the iPod, but when I connected it back to my main computer, I was back to square one. I needed to reconnect the iPod to my main computer because after the restore on the laptop I lost all my original songs, so I had to get the songs from the main computer. By doing that, I lost the "purchased" songs because iTunes wouldn't let me keep them AND add the my old songs back on because they are from different libraries! ARGH!
Apparently I just need to take it in to be fixed because I've serioulsy tried everything. If there was a way to transfer the iTunes library from the main computer to the laptop, everything would probably work. Is that possible?

  • "Loading iTunes Match" showing each time I start Music

    Hi,
I've recently had some trouble with iTunes match, where it wasn't downloading songs, although I could stream them fine. I spoke to someone from Apple who suggested turning off iTunes Match, then do a 'Reset All Settings', then re-enable iTunes Match. This seems to work fine, as I can now download songs.
Since performing the above 'reset', each time I start 'Music', it displays 'Loading iTunes Match', the progress bar gets all the way across, then I see my songs (not my playlists though - but that's a separate question). However, if I come out of Music, and go back in, I see the same message..
I've now tried about 10 times, with re-boots and turning off/on iTue

    Hi,
There may a problem track amongst those tracks that are waiting. Firstly, add iCloud status column to song view - go to menu > view > view options and tick box.
Next is to examine those tracks waiting - is there anything unusual or large? You may need to remove all those tracks waiting from your library. Next hold shift key whilst turning off match. Close iTunes, reopen and turn on match. You will be asked to add this computer, do so. The match process should be quick, match will remember previous matches and uploads.
Once process complete, readd those tracks, a small batch at a time. This will help you find any track that match does not like.

  • HELP- video bought on itunes not showing up in ipod

i bought the first part of a two part episode of monk off itunes today and, for some reason, part one is not showing up on my ipod. part two is on there and you can play it and it works just fine and everything, but for some reason part one does not show up on there at all. is there some reason why this is so?

Try manually draging the video to your ipod. If it is on your ipod delete it and transfer it back onto your ipod. Try resetting your ipod by holding the middle button and the menu button for 10 seconds. Also try checking your ipod video settings to make sure that the settings are the way you want it.

  • Purchased Movies purchased in itunes not showing in video's on iphone

I Just purchased the Extended Lord of the Rings Trilogy.  It shows up on my mac, shows up on my ipad in video's but on my iphone 5, it does not show up?  I can see other cloud movies I have purchased, but these three will not show up at all.  I logged out of icloud, got back in, reset phone, turned show videos in icloud on and off, I think it is an application issue.
I am running the lastest iOS v8.0.2 on an iphone 5 (T-mobile as service)
This maybe fixed when I get my 6 plus in a few days, but I wanted to report it non-the less so that it maybe on someone's radar to fix this issue.
    Thanks

RogerOut makes some good points and this feels to me like a ham fisted attempt by Apple to take control of my media in a way that I don't want.  The stuff it is choosing to call "home movie" is 100% legit movies, but not ones I bought through the itunes store.  So I load a movie and then it mysteriously does not show up in my Apple TV because it has defaulted to "home movie".
What I still fail to understand is what the heck is the purpose of this apart from annoying users who's stuff now does not appear on ATV without explanation or warning.  So glad to have this forum to help me, but why should I have to do this to figure out how to overcome a stupid thing that Itunes is doing to my movie (it is a movie!)?
As I say though, what possible benefit is it for a users media to be labelled in this way and anyway, why does calling it a home movie make it unreadable in ATV?

  • I have a new iPod touch. I've synced it through Itunes. None of my iTunes purchases show on my iPod now. Help....

I've been trying to download some games to my son's iPod touch. I have several now in my iTunes library and have synced the iPod many times. They still do not show up on the iPod.Also, when I click on the purple iTunes app on the iPod it says that it cannot connect. I have no idea what to do!

To fix the cant connect load up the iTunes Store or page that displays the error then go to settings > general > date and time
    Turn off automatic
Set the time for a month into the future
Go back to iTunes should work
Switch auto back on and time will fix and store will continue to work
About the syncing I really have no clue are you sure they are selected to sync under the device and apps.

  • Can't burn cds to library, can't load itunes store, can't recognize ipod

I downloaded the new version of itunes and now it doesn't work very well....
    1. I could not burn the a brand new cd into my library, the process was stuck "connecting to gracenote"
    2. My itunes store will not load
    3. my ipod is not always recognized by the computer
How do I fix these problems?  I tried to reinstall itunes, but that didn't seem to work.

I'm assuming you have already resolved the issue, but if you have not, I would recommend that you uninstall iTunes completely and remove anything related to Apple on your computer including Quicktime. See this post for what you need to remove: http://mismike.blogspot.com/2008/03/itunes-wont-close-on-windows-xp-sp2.html. Good luck.

  • Puchased movie in iTunes not showing in Videos

I bought a movie via iTunes ...it shows in my "purchased" and I got a receipt of the charge.
Although I'd expect to be  able click it there and play (come on Apple!), I finally figured out I had to go to Videos . But only music videos are showing up there. I'm swiping, poking, anything... Nothing!

    in short: video codecs.
    ATV can play:
    QUOTE: "
H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High or Main Profile level 4.0 or lower, Baseline profile level 3.0 or lower with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
If you videos don't meet those requirements, then they won't play...

  • ITunes  Tv shows and videos

Sorry if this is in the wrong category-- I'm new and I couldnt find anywhere else to put it. Is it possible to convert videos/tv shows that you buy from iTunes to a format that you can download to a blank readable DVD? Also, what is an AAC?

Welcome to Apple Discussions "technically challenged", and "lockthedoor".
You could put your videos/tv shows on a DVD by possibly backing up your iTunes library. Here are two Apple Support articles about this, see if this helps:
How to make a backup of your media in iTunes 5 or 6
How to make regular backups of your iTunes library (using a Smart Playlist)
I'm not sure if you can use that format for a DVD player, for example.
    Hope this helps!

  • Should iTunes Artwork show on the iPod?

I have the new iTunes 7.0.1.8 (for Windows XP Home) and my iPod has version 1.2 (formated for Windows of course) and it shows album covers I dragged into an MP3, but none that were downloaded with the new iTunes feature.
Is it supposed to show them on my iPod or just in iTunes? If it's not supposed to show them on my iPod then why not?

A lot of what are from the iTunes Store?
Your post doesn't make much sense really. Where did you get the songs from?
If you purchased them from the iTunes Store, then the artwork should have come with the song when you downloaded it.
But since you have not specifically stated that you have purchased from the Store, my question is have you downloaded songs from a different store or from yet another source? If so, did that source undertake to provide artwork?
Have you imported these songs from your own CDs?
MP3 files from other sources, such as (legally obtained) downloads from artist websites etc. do not always have artwork imbedded in them.
Amazon MP3 songs do have the artwork embedded. I assume other MP3 stores also provide the artwork. But then, assumptions are not always correct.
Songs that you import from your CDs do not have the artwork embedded in the CD version. The artwork is obtained for you by iTunes - if you have the setting turned on (see in iTunes, Edit/Preferences/General>>When you import a CD>>automatically download missing artwork) In this situation, if artwork is not supplied, it may be because iTunes doesn't have (legal) access to that artwork. In other words, they don't sell the album, so are unable to supply the artwork. In that case, a simple Google of the album should find the artwork which you can then copy into the album in iTunes.
As a last resort, I use my printer's in-built scanner to scan my CD cover and then paste that into the album's artwork box.
If I haven't answered your question, it's because you haven't supplied enough information.
