Loading iWork onto a new machine

Is it possible to uninstall iWork 08 from my current machine & put it on a new MacBook? I want to trade my mini for a MacBook.

It is possible to un-install iWork. But if you are giving away or selling your Mac mini then I recommend you to clean the hard drive so no one can retrieve any private or sensitive information. To do that (after you transfer your files to your new MacBook or back up your files on another hard drive), put in the DVD that came with your computer and restart your computer from that DVD. Go to Disk Utility to erase the internal hard drive. Now about iWork, don't worry about it if you erase the hard drive.

Is your laptop running Windows XP, windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1? If so then I suggest download a tool that will retrieve the serial number from the old laptop which you can use it on your new machine. The tool is called:

Install this and then run it by double clicking on its icon and then wait for about 5 minutes while it generates all the info about your machine and software keys.

I bought my wife a new MacBook Pro, in setting it up for her, I took her Time Machine external drive to migrate onto the new machine but her old MBP not only was on 10.6, it was my old machine which I was still Administrator for.
i plugged in the external drive to start the migration process after entering her name and username from the old machine which gave me the options on transferring the old data over.
I also unchecked the Administrative end that had my info hoping that ONLY her data, files, etc., would be the ones sent over to her new machine which I wanted her to be the ONLY Administrator for. All went like clockwork until the restart.
Normally the screen should show the username and only need the password but both entries were blank, as in ‘Other’ sign in option available only. I entered her name and password, nothing….used her username and password, nothing. Used my old Administrator name and password, NOTHING!
I tried defaulting to factory settings from the Restore feature but it directs me to notify Apple. I tried in Terminal to change the password, nothing. I tried to boot from MY external drive and it doesn’t recognize it. I tried to even use my external drive which actually has the Mavericks upgrade, nothing!
Basically I can only get the startup screen which isn’t accepting the username/password or the Restore feature which doesn’t offer any options helpful!
Please, how do I start from scratch and start over here? Or simply change the Administrator name and password so I can proceed with everything thats already on there? I wish I could even boot from another drive but no luck on anything!

First, on the old machine, make your wife's account an admin one. Log into it and delete yours. Then, update the TM backup. Finally, use Internet recovery mode, ⌘⌥R, erase the HD, and restore the OS. One first boot, follow the steps outlined in Pondini's Setup New Mac guide.

Yes. You are allowed to install PSE on two computers at once, but if you don't need it on the first computer anymore, go to editor>help>sign out to deactivate it and free up one of your activations for future use.

So if anyone is unsure why I need to do this either read my older post (Re: Walking yesterday. Crawling today.) or just look at the top 100 current forum posts concerning the latest updates at any given moment.
In a nutshell I am building a new super machine (so that Adobe can still copy paste their canned "It's your system" response to all of my future problem posts) and I have a large project (short film, hundreds of clips, tons of audio, lots of masks and CC) currently on an old machine using PPro 2014.0 single barrel. I would like to know if it is possible for me to transfer over the entire project/media files to the new machine and load it right into 2014.0 single barrel on the new machine so I can just get this project completed and delivered without nary a hiccup before daring to smoke test the... >GULP!<... latest PPro version on a far less involved/lucrative project.
I feel like when the new machine is ready and I go to download PPro its going to force the latest version on me... is there a way to select a legacy version? Would loading the latest version and then rolling back (like I have done in my current situation) work if the new machine has never had the older version?
Full disclosure I've never transferred projects to new software versions, let alone new machines, in my life... so any insight that spells things out as if I'm in 8th grade would be greatly appreciated.

Well I really (read as REALLY) want to just finish this project so the plan was to go into a test mindset after it was in the can. So get over to the new computer, finish a few tweaks and render it off the new box. Then I am fully prepared to go into test mode.

I'd question those numbers, or the ability to even project them, but regardless I am simply one of the lowly hundreds. I am far more confident and vindicated about my experience/feelings concerning this release than I was when I originally shared my story.

Sorry I don’t know of any download links for PSE6. It may be worth thinking of upgrading to the latest version PSE13. It now has 64 bit support so you should see improved performance if your new machine has more than 4gb of memory (RAM)
The interface is different to PSE6 although most of the tools you are familiar with will work the same.
Why don’t you download the trial version from the link below and use it free for 30 days. If you are happy with it you can purchase from Adobe or any retailer or on-line store. No further installation is required; you simply enter your serial number to make the trial permanent. It’s a good way of ensuring a successful installation before making a commitment to purchase.

Hello! I've had an iMac for 7 years and it is long past time to back things up. All the external hard drives on the market now are USB 3.0 and mine uses 2.0. I plan on backing up only my iPhoto, Documents, and Pictures files since I will be buying a new Apple product to replace this one and it will be preloaded with all the usual software. Will I be able to back up to an external drive that uses USB 2.0 and then load that to a new Apple computer that uses USB 3.0?

Generally you will have to go back to the original download and use that. If you did not backup the download, you may be out of luck. If the new machine is a Win 8 machine, the AA 8 will likely not work anyway. Not sure about PhotoShop. The use of the Standard makes it even harder. There are downloads for Pro, but not Std as understand it. You might try at Adobe Acrobat X (10) Pro, Reader, and Suite Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools to see if you can find a copy.

Depends on how you bought Aperture to begin with..
If you bought it from the Mac App Store simply log in to the MAS using the same Apple ID you used to buy it and download it
If you bought Aperture on DVD you will need to install from the DVD using the serial number you received with the DVD package.
If you bought Aperture through a digital download prior to the MAS, say a trial version you upgraded, things get a bit more complicated. You will need to install from the original DMG package file you downloaded and use the serial number Apple set you went you purchased it.

First use Disk Utilty to make a disk image of the iWork disc on your iMac. Then there are two easy ways to install on your mothers new iMac. One is to copy to your USB thumb drive, visit your mother and install from the thumb drive. The other is to use a free upload and download service like www.wetransfer.com. Upload the .dmg disk image via www.wetransfer.com, then your mother downloads and installs. After installation you'll need to update iWork for Mountain Lion compatibility.

Having trouble loading OSX onto a new harddrive for my imac

I have a late 2009 Imac. I just installed a new Seagate harddrive in it after the old Seagate drive died. I am having a problem installing the OS X 10.6.4 that came with the computer originally. I insert the install disk, start the computer, hold c while it is starting up, then in the next menu I click on English as the language, next it says the OS is loading but stops in the middle of loading and a message comes up saying "OS X could not be installed on your computer". I try to click on disk utilities from the menu in the upper left but all of the options are grayed out. The two things I can choose are to restart the computer or to load from a back up . Any help on what I could try would be great.

After I click the language selection the loading bar opens automatically, I have no time to click anything. When the message "OS X could not be installed on your computer" comes up on the screen I have two options to click either restart computer or Load from time machine backup. I cant exit out of this message, also until this point I can not see the utilities drop down menu in the upper left. Once I do get the drop down menu it is all grey and I can't choose anything. I assume I have to format the hard drive due to it being a new one, but without being able to get into disk utilities I'm not sure how.

yrs ago and uses windows xp operating system. As I needed a new in the field laptop I went for a small new
HP netbook which is ideal for use from vehicle and suited my aim as it is loaded with windows XP!!!
The problem is I also use anold PS Elements 2 to resize field taken pictures and for e.mailing This was also sold for use with Windows XP..
On attempting to install it on this new netbook I get as far as the installation page, I select elements and leave adobe reader out of the install, click next get the timer and then it all goes back to my desktop?
I have tried to install manually but there is no sign of a setup.exe command?
Technical say they do not support this product anymore,can anyone help?

I tried installing PSE2 on two of my computers just now...both have large resolution screens.
On my Windows 7 SP1 system, clicking on AutoRun worked ok and I was able to get past the serial number page but cancelled after that because I have newer versions of PSE on there and didn't want to mess them up.
On my Vista SP2 system, clicking on AutoRun brought up a panel with several buttons including one that would install PSE2 and one that would install Acrobat 5, but none of those buttons worked. Clicking on any of the buttons showed a momentary button-depress change in the button, itself, but no new window ever opened. I had to manually open my CD in Windows Explorer and go down into the Adobe Photoshop Elements folder (as just suggested) and was able to run the setup.exe from there, and it worked just fine.
Setup.exe is in the following folder on my CD where your drive-letter may be different:
D:\Adobe Photoshop Elements\setup.exe

I have the serial number for that but can't find one for InDesign. I have tried to copy from Time machine disk onto macbook but get error message about the licence code 150:30. I have deactivated the copy on the iMac. Please help,

I'd agree with Bob. There's no problem installing CS4. You can download a clean install from here:
