Loading long texts ( 60) into BI 7 with Z-tables?

Hello Forum,
I've seen many posts and questions regarding the problem of texts bigger than 60 characters.
Due we can't use the method of various text fields/attributes in one InfoObjekt, we considered using the document option of InfoObjects. Because there are many fields bigger than 60 characters and a lot of records, the number of documents would be huge as they were created by ABAP per character value of each record.
Is there another way or best practice to handle this?
E.g. an Z-table, that contains the whole data, and this table can be used in our web-template with an ABAP function of the customer extension item?

no, unfortunately not.
We get some information that this is also feasible with TREX oder Visual Composer and HTML Docs.
I'll try to get more information.
As a new possibility we suppose to use standard text tables of sap, so we might use function module to read from these tables.
Now we are looking for another function module to write into these tables especially filling the format row.
If someone knows something about these topics?

Use Read_text function module.
you need to pass
ID
LANGUAGE
NAME
OBJECT to the function moduel
To find the Text id name language and object these are the following steps. Example: FB02
1. goto FB02, Enter Document number
2. from menuselect Goto>Header-->header Text..... New window will be displayed
3. select the Header Text. here you can see all the text.
4. click on the TEXT (which you want to know the Text id) , then press log ICON (you can find in bottom right of the text window) it looks like a rolled paper.
5. in the Next window you will find Text Name. Text ID, Language. etc...

Well, you didn't mention Mac, but to my knowledge, TouchCopy works on both platforms. And, my understanding of the OP was to send each one individually, whereas WiseJD was referring to selecting them all so you could copy them all and send, rather than emailing each individual piece.
It wasn't that I thought it was rude, but that it was a complaint about something that someone said a year ago. You did not come here to ask a question, or indicate at all that you were looking for a solution to a similar question. It was just that you came on, slammed a response and left it at that. Those of us that take the time to answer people's questions as volunteers and users just like you. If you spend a great deal of time here, you will see a lot of different types of questions/comments that can get on your nerves. Reading long text from excel file to an internal table

Can any body tell me how to read long text from excel file to an internal table.
When i am using this FM KCD_EXCEL_OLE_TO_INT_CONVERT then it is reading only 32 characters from each cell.
But in my excel sheet in one of the cell has very long text which i need to upload into a internal table.
may i know which FM or what logic i need to use for this problem.

Hi,
Here is an example program. It will upload an Excel file with two columns. You could also assign the Excel structure dynamically, but I wanted to keep the example simple. The main point is that the internal table (it_excel in this example) must match the Excel structure that you want to convert.
Remember, this is just an example to help you figure out how to properly use the technique. It will certainly need to be modified to fit your requirements, and as always there may be a better way to get the Excel converted... this is just one possibility that has worked for me in the past.

Within the program, structure TLINE loads the text.
This structure consists to fields TDFORMAT and TDLINE.
The text exists in field TLINE-TDLINE.
Whereever, we need to give extended text we can use '=' symbol for TDFORMAT. Just like in SAP Script Form(Extended Line).
Alternatively you can use FM: SAVE_TEXT for loading the texts.
Insert a convert routine to split the text in several lines.
You can use the following function module to split your long text into multiple lines.
QADB_DOCU_CONVERT_TO_SAPSCRIPT

Can I directly updating the long text information with the fuction save_text?
The long text is in :
tcode: fb02 -->input document no ... --> Document overview --> select one document
long text --> updating the value.
Becaust I want to update some items in a G/L Account with bdc or other technique, but I found I can't choose the items in the G/L Account with bdc automatically .That means I can't get the selected items and update them.So I try to update them with the function save_text directly (I know the doc no，bukrs,fiscal year ,item no which will decide the long text item).

Yes, you can update directly using SAVE_TEXT.

How to load external text file into a Form?

Hi,
I made a menu with 1-5 in a Form and 5 external text files. I want the user who is able to view the text content of the text file when he chooses one of them from the menu. And the text file screen has a "Back" command button to let him go back.
How can I do it and can it support other languages such as Chinese and Japanese?

Sorry, I made the mistake about the subject, it should be loading local file, not external file through http.
I wrote a method but it throwed an exception when the midlet was run.

Thank you for your answer. This object name is in the table TADIR and the technical name is OBJ_NAME.
The names are from our developer - that are names of programms. So I can't create or change it in the UI, because it is running in the background. It is a pity that I can't use the trace.
It should be a list for our clients, that they know how many and which programs which we have developed. That it makes more sense, we don't want to get only the technical program name. We want include additionally the long text (the description).
Do you have any other ideas?

Well, i need to treat those contents, and calculate values withing those files, so wrinting files using FileInputstream wont do. for instance i need to get line 5 from file 1, split it, grab a value according to its class (value also taken) and compare it with another line of another file, adding those values to asingle file.
that's why i need vector capabilities, but since these files have more than 5 Mb each, an out of memory error is returned by loading those values into vector.
A better explanaition:
Each file has a line like
CLIENTNUM CLASS VALUE
so if the client is the same withing 2 files, i need to sum the lines into a single file.
If class is the same, then sum values, if not add it to the front.
we could have a final line like
CLIENTNUM CLASS1 VALUE1 CLASS2 VALUE2

How to get longer text boxes into iMovie

I'm hoping to input longer quotes and text into iMovie HD 6. I thought I got around this problem by creating a ppt with the appropriate text, saving the slides as jpgs, moving them to iPhoto, and then importing them into my movie (long process!). Unfortunately, the text comes out blurry.
How can I simply write the text into iMovie when it's longer than a sentence? Or else how can I create some image with the text that I can import and it will show up clearly?

I have the same problem - I want to have a ticker-style text scrolling at the bottom, but for texts longer than 200 words the font becomes blurrier and harder to read, and by the time the text reaches 500 words it's completely illegible. This does not seem to be affected by how long the ticker-box lasts (same problem for when it's 7 minutes as 2 minutes), though splitting a 4 minute, 400 word string into two 2 min, 200 word strings helps if you put them into two seperate "ticker" instances. But then you have an unwanted gap in the middle between when one ticker ends and the other starts.
So, why is the text quality so ******?

Loading a text file into a global variable issue - really a global var?

From all the documentation and examples I can find, it appears that it would be
correct to create a global array variable [outside of any functions] to load image names into,
then use these images for a slideshow. I want to make the app dynamic, in that changing the text file gives a new set of images.
The global variable goes null [no values] after the load event listener. Why is that?
Isn't global, well global, and alive for the duration of the SWF?

The statement you quoted from whatever Adobe documentation is correct.
If you want to load the data into the arrays before anything else happens, then have anything else that happens execute via the completeHandler function... after the data is loaded and processed into the arrays.
the command: loadFile() executes before the trace("2:" +images[4]); command. The loadFile function is processed and the loading process BEGINS... but starting the loading does not delay the main processing from continuing down the line--the loading itself becomes a secondary/background task. The command was to execute the loadFile function and the processing of that function was completed. If you don't believe so, then add a trace...

If you add that trace, you should see that the loadFile function execution is completed and the next line in your code is then processed... trace(2....)
The addEventlistener does not stop anything. The addEventListener code is assigning a monitor, not a traffic controller... it is telling the monitor to indicate when the data has finished loading. It is not telling anything to stop program execution.
So if you want to wait until the data is loaded before you do anything else... it goes....
