Loading music to other ipods

Can I download music from my ITUNES to other peoples ipods?

This is stealing. You do not own the music.
When you buy music, you buy the right to use it for your own personal use.

I just purchased a new iMac. My iTunes account is missing a ton of music and only contains "purchased" music. When I try to load music from my ipod to match my imac it only asks if i'd like to sinc my ipod with my account. How do I access my entire library? Thanks

Unless you subscribe to Match, you will have to transfer your non-iTunes stuff from your old computer:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
If you want to copy non-iTunes music off of your iPod (eg, if your old computer doesn't exist), you'll need to use a third party program.  I don't know of any free ones anymore, but if you google, you can find several in the $19 range.

  • Is it possible to load music onto an iPod in Disc Mode?

    Hi guys,
Is it possible to load music onto an iPod in Disc Mode?
I recently sold my 5th Gen 30Gb iPod on eBay, about a week later the buyer sent it back claiming it was faulty, he could not switch it on etc etc...
Within a few minutes I had it running again, but was making a clicking sound. So I put it into disc mode, connected it to my G4 and found out that the seller had managed to change the name of the iPod, delete some of my music, load some of their music onto the iPod and play that music.
My question is would they have been able to do all that in disc mode? Or would the iPod have to have been fully functional? Let alone using third party software to extract my songs that were already on the iPod.
I think they received a perfectly working iPod, used it, damaged it, were unable to fix it (couldn't be bothered to find out how) and so sent it back claiming it was faulty all along.
Thanks for any help and advice anyone can give.
    Alex

    Thanks, I realise that now.
It turns out that the buyer reformatted the iPod for Windows.
Would they have been able to do that in Disc Mode?
Or would the iPod have to have been fully functional?
I'm trying to prove that the iPod was indeed fully functional when they received it, because they were able to reformat it, rename it, delete some of my music and load some of their own music.

  • How do I load music from my ipod to itunes on my new mac, I do not have my old mac?

How do I load music from my ipod to itunes on my new mac, I do not have my old mac?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss.  To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only purchases from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software.  See this document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

how do I get music from my HP PC windows 8.1 to iTunes folder to enable me to load music to my iPod 2nd generation Shuffle?

    Hey kaygaryras,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
If you have music on your PC already, and want to import it to your iTunes library, use one of the methods in this article:
iTunes 12 for Windows: Import music and video already on your computer
Once you've imported your songs into your iTunes library, see these articles for help with syncing your iPod shuffle:

  • Can't manually load music to my iPod Shuffle

I own a 2nd gen iPod shuffle and a 80GB iPod classic. Both are synced to 2 computers. The classic works fine when I try to load music from either computer but the shuffle will only let me add music from my desktop computer. When I try to load music from my laptop, it asks me to sync to the laptop and erase the music I have loaded from my PC. I can't find a way to manually load music from both computers.

That's the way the 2nd Gen shuffle works...

  • I cant load music onto my ipod without it all locking

how do i put music on my ipod without a little padlock sign coming u next to the information at the bottom?

hmmm idk. i checked for an update but it said that the version i have was the latest version. i got my ipod in the last week of december/first week in january. i opened up itunes a minute ago and it said a new update was available, which i downloaded. now it says i can put photos onto it, but then that error message on itunes pops up saying 'The iPod could not be updated. THe disk could not be read from or written to.'Would it have anything to do with another error message that i get, ever since the first time i plugged it in, reading 'Failed to locate supported file types or there are no photos found on this device'. That one i havent seen in about an hour, and i have been able to edit which photos i put on my ipod for about an hour.

  • Loading Music on to iPod Shuffle

My wife just got an iPod Shuffle and I have a question about loading music on to it. I have a 20g iPod with numerous play lists and about 3000 songs. Can I create a playlist for my wife on my iBook and just load music to the shuffle from my wife's play list the same way I just update certain play lists when I update my iPod?

Yes, you can drag playlists directly to the shuffle, or Autofill it using a playlist as the source.

  • Pre-loading music on an iPod as a gift

I bought an iPod Nano for my fiancee. She's working in Japan for a few more months before moving out here, so I thought it'd be nice for her commute. She's a bit technology challenged so I wanted to load a good fifty dollars worth of music or video on the iPod before I gave it to her.
What would be the best way to do this?
I thought of just creating an iTunes account on my computer, buying the music and loading it on the iPod. She could authorize her laptop when she got it and change account information then. The problem I'm having is, since she has a Japanese address she most likely can't purchase from the US store, and since I have a US address I can't purchase from the Japan store. She'll want music in her own language, and the US iTunes store has pitiful Japanese song selection. I would buy her an iTunes card, but I can't buy a Japanese iTunes card without having a billing address in Japan.
Any ideas on how to either get her an iTunes card or pre-fill the iPod would be appreciated.

She'll want music in her own language, and the US iTunes store has pitiful Japanese song selection.
    Sorry, I missed this part.
Dunno how you can get her a Japanese iTunes store account.
You cannot even gift her songs from your US iTunes account to a Japanese account.
    Have any Japanese language CDs?

How to load music to my iPad from other devices  and from iTunes

    Hello Mbelizaire55
Check out the article below to learn how to sync music and other media to your iPad and other iOS devices. Pick the article that represents the type of computer you have at home. When a device is plugged into your computer, it should show up in iTunes. Once there, you can navigate to the Music tab and then it is a matter of selecting what to sync.

  • Itunes wont load music onto my ipod touch

Ever since i updated to ios 4.3.5 and itunes 10.4, itunes wont transfer my music to my ipod touch 4g. It just says finishing sync and wont do anything else. Please help me

If it is purchased music from iTunes make sure your iTunes is still authorized on your computer.
If it is, try to manually sync the music to the ipod touch. Below is an article that will assist you in doing this.

  • Best way to load music on the Ipod?

what is the best way to do this?

That really depends on the type of iPod you have and the size of the library. I prefer having iTunes do the work so I prefer to sync things automatically. Since my library is smaller than the iPod I use the option "Sync Music - All songs and playlists".
When your iPod is smaller than your iTunes library you can still sync automatically using the setting 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' which I think is a better way to update an iPod that is smaller than the iTunes library. Syncing selected playlists is just like syncing your whole library only on a smaller scale and more "selectively". When your iPod is is set to sync selected playlists it automatically picks up any changes you made to that playlist in iTunes since you last connected. Anything you added to the playlist will be added to the iPod, anything you deleted from it will be deleted from the iPod. In other words the iTunes playlist and the iPod are kept "in sync".
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preference tabs.
Connect your iPod to your computer and when it appears in the Source list click on it to show the preference tabs in the main pane. Choose one of the following options and click "Apply".
    1) Sync Music - All songs and Playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method. You'll find this in the Music Tab.
    2) Sync Music - Selected playlists. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer. You'll find this in the Music Tab.
    3) Manually manage music and videos. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod. You'll find this in the Summary Tab.

  • Is there a way to load music to my ipod from purchases from Realplayer, etc

    Hi.
Let me start off by saying I am a computer idiot. It took me 20 minutes to figure out how/where to post my question.
I apologize if I ended up posting in the wrong place and I apologize in advance for my babble.
    Here is my question(s).
    I have a Ipod60.
I have managed to upload songs that I had accummulated over the years that are in my music library.
Unfortuantely, I seem to be having a problem with 3 things.
    1) is a audio clip my cousin sent me. The clip is in .wav.
I can add it to my liabray. I can play it on the computer when in Itunes. I can see it on my ipod. HOWEVER, when I try to play the song on my ipod, the title appears on the screen but it immediately jumps to the next song. How do I get it to play on the ipod?
    2) I purchase a song from the Realplayer store because I couldnt find the song on Itunes. They said that it was compatible with my Ipod. Unfortunatley, Itunes will not let me add or import the song.
    What am I doing wrong?
3)I have one song that is a mp3 extension that will not let me upload it to the ipod. Again, I can add it to my library, but it will not save onto the ipod.
I tried to look at the various "help" sections. They say something about programing the darn thing to manual additions/updates but that doesnt seem to work.
    Am I doing something wrong?
If anyone has any suggestions or knows of instructions that are in simple /"for dummies" terminology, I would greatly appreciate it.
I also have a question about why I can't upload varios videos that I have...but that is another battle.
Thanks in advance and once again, I apologize if I am posting in the wrong place or babbled.
      Windows XP

Once again, thank you both for taking the time to answer.
Camoracer - thank you for the suggestions on the transfer programs. I will look into them, once my 1 semi working brain cells stops hurting from this little technical puzzle.
I quickly check Videora out and it seems to be able to convert other formats TO IPOD. It doesnt seem to go the other way. Are there others that allow for that or is it impossible to copy IPOD "stuff" into other formats?
Is there a "silver bullet" of a program that works on most types video & audio (.mp3, m4p, mp4, avi, .flv, .mov. etc) ?
ED2345 - thank you for trying to make me feel better by saying that "it is a common mistake". It doesnt make me feel as stupid as I feared...but I did warn you that I am a moron when it comes to this stuff. I just thought that by changing the extension from (for example) .mp3 to .avi or .wmv was enough....heck most of the time it seems to work.
Anyway, I tried to do what you suggested. But before I click and change anything on my settings I want to make sure I THINK I am doing what you said.
I go into Itunes and get into Importing and I see the following
ON CD INSERT: ask to import CD
    IMPORT USING: AAC ENCODER
    SETTING: HIGH QUALITY (128 kbps)
(then in a little box under it is says:DETAILS
    64 kbps (mono)128 kbps(stereo)optimized for MMX/SSE2
then under that box it has a few bullit points (* = lines that are "checked off" & activated:
    * Play songs while inporting or converting
    * automatically retrieve CD track names from internet
    * create file names with track numbers
    and
use error correction when reading audio cd's
    Now
all that said, where to I make sure the preference is set to mp3 at 160 kb/s.??
Do I change to MP3 in the IMPORT USER by clicking on the drop down and changing to MP3 ENCODER?
Do I change the 160kbs by clicking on settings => custom=> and then change the STERO BIT RATE??
Knowing me, I will click on the wrong thing and cause my computer to self destruct.
Once again, thank you both for your time.
