Loading ODS

Hi All,
Scheduled a load to an ODS. The request has turned red. It has already loaded about 3 million records.
In the 'Details' section of the Monitor, the TRANSFER(IDOCS TRFC) , 3 data packages, say 1, 2, 3 are red. The same data packets1, 2, 3 are green under PROCESSING(DATA PACKET) tab. The job is till running when checked in SM37 though nothing is happening for about 12 hours now. RFC is in place.#
Any suggestions on what to do?

Hi,
check the processing tab. In case the number of records of that datapackages is somehow realistic and comparable with the others it will be fine. Then check if the process is really still running. Also check the source system for that. In case it has finished and no more data packages arrive, set the status to green and activate the request in the ods manually.

Dear All,
I am loading through Process chains with 2 Delta Loads and 1 Full load from ODS to Cube in 3.5. Am in the development process.
My loading process is:
Start - 2 Delta Loads - 1 Full Load - ODS Activation - Delete Index - Further Update - Delete overlapping requests from infocube - Creating Index.
My question is:
When am loading for the first am getting some data and for the next load i should get as Zero as there is no data for the next load but am getting same no of records for the next load. May be it is taking data from full upload, i guess. Please, guide me.

Hi,
The reason you are getting the same no. of records is as you said (Full load), after running the delta you got all the changed records but after those two delta's again you have a full load step which will pick whole of the data all over again.
The reason you are getting same no. of records is:
1> You are running the chain for the first time.
2> You ran this delta ip's for the first time, as such while initializing these deltas you might have choosen "Initialization without data transfer", as such now when you ran these deltas for the first time they picked whole of the data.Running a full load after that will also pick the same no. of records too.
If the two delats you are talking are one after another then is say u got the data because of some changes, since you are loading for a single ods to a cube both your delta and full will pick same "For the first time " during data marting, for they have the same data source(ODS).
Hope fully this will serve your purpose and will be expedite.

Flat file data load - ODS - Look up data in Startroutine

Hi All,
There is a requirement that I have two ODS say 1) ABC and XYZ.
For Both ODS , We load flat file data.
First we load data to ABC for current fiscal period
During the data load to XYZ, We lookup part nos data in ABC for current fiscal period , if data there , for those part nos we load XYZ Flat file data.
My requirement is that , I need to fetch part nos data from ABC for Fiscal period < current fisacl period. Then I need to extract already loaded data for those part nos from XYZ and Mark the flag field as Non reportable .
How can we achieve this ?

Thanks for your reply.
I have done so. When I add lines of My Internal table data to DATA_PACKAGE, It gives the syntax error that both structures are not unique. We have several fields in XYZ ods but they are not in Communication structure.
Thats the problem. Also , if I write the code , will it be executed for each datapackage. I mean , for each datapacket process , my code will fetch whole data from ABC and then from XYZ. Repetion will be there?
Any other logic can i use ?

Problem in loading ods

hi,
when iam loading my data into ods iam getting this problem,
up to the final step there is no problem, iam getting green color signal in each and every step in request processing which we could see in the DATA PROCESSOR MONITOR SCREEN and when we go for the next step that is activating the ods so that we could get that ods in reporting level there only iam getting the RED color request, i have tried to solve the problem but no use, our basis team again installed the software also then also no use,
I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM , IS THERE ANY PROBLEM WITH THE WORK BENCH ITSELF
pls suggest me and help to solve this problem

Hi Sriramakrishnan,
I think some one already suggested you to delete all existing RED (failed) requests and then relaod and activate your ODS.
Activation cannot happen if there are existing RED requests.
To delete RED requests:
Right click on the ODS--> Manage --> Requests.

Loading ODS - Data record exists in duplicate within loaded data

BI Experts,
I am attemping to load an ODS with the Unique Data Records flag turned ON. The flat file I am loading is a crosswalk with four fields, the first 3 fields are being used as Key Fields in order to make the records unique. I have had this issue before, but gave up in frustration and added an ascending number count field so simply create a unique key. This time I would like to solve the problem if possible.
The errors come back referring to two data rows that are duplicate:
Data record 1 - Request / Data package / Data record: REQU_4CNUD93Q3RCC80XFBG2CZXJ0T/000003/ 339
Data record 2 - Request / data package / data record: REQU_4CNUD93Q3RCC80XFBG2CZXJ0T/000003/ 338
And below here are the two records that the error message refers to:
3     338     3902301480     19C*     *     J1JD
3     339     3902301510     19C*     *     J1Q5
As you can see, the combination of my three Key Fields should not be creating a duplicate. (3902301480, 19C(asterisk) , (asterisk))   and (3902301510, 19C(asterisk) , (asterisk)) I replaced the *'s because they turn bold!
Is there something off with the numbering of the data records? Am I looking in the wrong place? I have examined my flat file and can not find duplicates and the records that BW say are duplicates are not, I am really having a hard time with this - any and all help greatly appreciated!!!

I was about to answer your questions but I wanted to try one more thing, and it actually worked. I simply moved the MOST unique Key Field to the TOP of my Key Field list. It was at the bottom before.
FYI for other people with this issue -
Apparantly the ORDER of your Key Fields is important when trying to avoid creating duplicate records.
I am using four data fields, and was using three data fields as the Key Fields. Any combination of all three would NOT have a duplicate, however when BW finds that the first two key fields match, sometimes it apparantly doesn't care about the third one which would make the row unique. By simply changing the order of my Key Fields I was able to stop getting the duplicate row errors...
Lesson - If you KNOW that your records are unique, and you are STILL getting errors for duplicates, try changing the ORDER of your key fields.

OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED when load ODS

In the end it solves to the error applying note OSS 987104, since the error takes place when loading the ODS of a table

"Error occurred in the data selection" on init delta load ODS- InfoCube

Hi, gurus and experts!
I'm trying to do Init delta load from 0FIAR_O03 ODS into 0FIAR_C03 InfoCube in PRD env. by InfoPackage "Initialize with delta transfer (with data transfer)". Immediately after the load was started I got error
"Error occurred in the data selection"
with details
"Job terminated in source system --> Request set to red".
Where are no any short dumps. There are 1 activated init load in ODS - nearly 6 500 000 records.
Any ideas about error? And the way I can load data?

Hi Gediminas Berzanskis,
I faced the similar error when I tried to load data from an ODS which contained huge amount of data to a Cube. Even in your case the volume of data is more (around 6.5 million records). The error could be due to the table space issue, please contact your Basis team to check if enough table space exist for both the data targets.
Meanwhile you may also check the RFC connection of the Myself source system.
You can replicate the DSO datasource once and then reactivate the transfer rules using the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.
Try load with a small amount of data with a Full load option and then with a delta option..

it failm...i have controlled the details in the monitor and i have these informations with the red light signal:
- Overal status: errors occured: or: missing message
- Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Errors occured
. Data Package 1: arrived in bw; processing: data packet not yet processed
- Processing (data packet): Errors occured
. Data Package 1 (98934 Records): Missing messages
- subseq. processing (messages): errors occured
(orange signal) . ODS activation (change-log): not yet activated
my problem is that there is a query bex based on multicube (2 cubes and this ods) and the person who use this query has tried to execute today and return no. applicable data found, and when i have controlled the multicube i see that is some relation between that query and this ODS and when i have controlled the menu manage in the ODS i see that this loading had finish with this error...

Loading ODS from Infosource 7.0

Hi guys:
I am struggling at loading an ODS with DTP´s that have an Infosource in the middle. My data flow is this
ODS ->
ODS ->     Infosource -> "Destin" ODS
ODS ->
When I execute the three DTP´s and then I activate the subsequents three requests, I do not have the result that I expected, and some fields of the destin ODS are blank when they should have data.
Do you know how to load an ODS from others ODS´s with an Infosource in the moddle? Is there any way to "compress" the data in the destin ODS in order to mix the different requests??

My InfoSource is:
Infosource: PK1...PK2..CH1...CH2..KF1...KF2...KF3..KF4
And all the transformations between ODS-Inforsource-ODS are 1:1
After the Infosource, in the destin ODS, once I execute the three infopackages and I activate, I think I should have:
..............PK1...PK2..CH1...CH2..KF1...KF2...KF3..KF4
final ODS     A........B.......X......Y......1......2......3......4
and waht I have is:
...............PK1...PK2..CH1...CH2..KF1...KF2...KF3..KF4
final ODS     A........B......................1
It is like the ODS is not mixing the registers properly.
Do you know how to get to the right answer?

Turn QM status to green automatically when loading ODS

Hi,
I am loading zero record to the ODS but it is in the yellow status. I manually change the QM status to green and it seemed to have worked. How can I set this to turn to green automatically?

Thank you for the valuable info. Would you happen to know if there is a workaround on this? For some reason I was able to manually activate the ODS from the Manage and the Monitor to green. Would you think that adding come code to the Update Rule routine by setting some RETURNCODE to zero would work?
We're working with Ascential, and I am not familiar with this third party software. In ABAP, there is a away to not send any transfer request to BW if there is no record. How were you able to handle sending zero record to BW ODS? Please advise.
I am also running into a problem that Ascential is saying that it is sending zero record to BW, but when it gets to BW it has 1 record with blank field values.

Loading ODS to Cube Creates two records

I am using one ODS to load data into Cube 1 and Cube 2.
Cube 1 is a delta load and Cube 2 is a full load. The design is that Cube 1 will have all the daily updates from R/3 and Cube 2 will be loaded with a snap-shot of the ODS data at midnight. When the snap-shot is loaded into Cube 2 an update rule will change characteristic infoobject "Snap-Shot date" to the current date. So, cube 2 will contain all the nightly snap-shots with different dates
The initial load of Cube 1 runs fine and it loads 1488 records. When I run Cube 2's full load it add 2976 records (double). When I look at the Cube 2 data I see one record with the Snap-shot date that is blank and one with the current date in it.
I have to click on a key figure that has an "Update Type = Addition" to get to the characteristics update rule for "snap-shot date". Is the fact that the key figure is additive causing the creation of two records?

Yes, that was my problem I didn't have the update rule applied to all the key figures. When I put in the update rule and I saved it, I said "no" to the pop-up "Apply to all key figures".
I just re-edited the update rule and this time I clicked "yes" apply to all key figures. Load is working fine now...

Issue in loading ODS to CUBE(URGENT)

Hi All,
We are facing an issue in loading AR,AP and G/L ODS to Cube.
The steps we done are
1) Repair full request is done in ODS got around 35 lack records.
2) Done Full load in Cube n got 35 lack records.
3) Done delta load in ODS got 189 records.
4) Done delta load in Cube got 1 lack records.
This is where we guys couldnt find out what went wrong??
1 lack records to cube is not possible...??
Did we went wrong any where..??
Could any one guide us to do What has to be done??

No we didn't do intialization . We did repair full in ODS and full update to cube,.
What we have done is
We planned to do the selective deletion from G/L cube for Q2 2007.
Done a repair full request to ODS
From ODS to Cube a full load. (as we have deleted the data from the cube)
Problem is after doing this it has pulled data for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.(past five days)
But the problem is wilth delta.. it is still pulling only 189 same records that got pulled in yesterday evening data load
Can you tell me wat are all the methods to load those days records also delta records to CUBE.

Load ODS data into multiple cubes

I have an ODS that has global data. I need to load the ODS data to multiple cubes based on region and year. The delta is setup between ODS and cubes. How do we go about doing this in 3.x and 7.0 and is there any difference in the procecure between these two versions.

Hi Ram.
In BI 7.0, you need to create separate Transformations from your Data Store object (DSO) to all the Multiple cubes. For each transformation you then have to create a Data transfer process (DTP). In the DTP you can select data based on the Region and Year.
DTP data selection
1. Open the DTP
2. Goto the Extraction Tab
3. There will be a "Filter" button opposite to the Extraction mode.
4. By using this Filter button you can do data selection on different fields.
In BW 3.x you need to create update rules instead of transformations. The following link should give you more details

Issue loading ODS having single Data field when it is set to "No Updpate"

Hi Gurus,
I have a standard ODS object with 6 Keyfields & 1 Datafield.
I am updating it from an Infosouce with help of Update Rules.
In the Update rules:
The 6 Keyfields are mapped from the Infosource fields which has relevant data.
The one Data field needs to be set to "No Update" because there is no relevant field from the Infosource.
Issue is surfacing with this Data field being set to "No Update"
when I run the Infopackage even though there are relevant fields in Infosource for the 6 Keyfields none of them are getting updated.
But when I set the Data field to "Overwrite" and for Update method give some constant or write some Routine and give the Result as 0, the rest 6 Keyfields are also getting updated from the Info source.
My question is....
If ODS is having only one Data field, is it mandatory that I have to update it with some value ?
Can't I set it to "No Update" and load just the Key fields ?

Even I had to agree if there is only one Data field in the ODS I have to set to some kind of Update...
But.....I couldn't find it in writing (in document) no where from the Web.
Could anyone point out a document which confirms/explains this ?

Load ODS data to Application server file

I need to upload ODS data to application server.
I can not use Open Hub service. I need to do the upload process in background as there is around 5 million data in ODS. Can anybody please guide

Hi,
You can use Analytic Process Designer for your requirement.
Use 'RSANWB'.
It will allow you to select the source as DSO and also you can choose target as some logical path where you can define Application server path as Physical path. Use "FILE'
Also you can schedule the process in background.
