Loading of hierarchies in BPC 7.5 failing

Hi,
when trying to load hierarchies from an InfoObject (BPC 7.5) i get the following error message.
"No records are returned from <InfoObject Name>"
It's a warning. But as it says no data is returned.
The hierarchy is available and activated in the BI-Source-System.
Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks for closing the loop on your post.
By the way, I created a [How-to Guide|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/c02d0b47-3e54-2d10-0eb7-d722b633b72e] on loading BW master data into BPC 7.5 NW.  If you are interested in the topic, check it out and give me your feedback.

  • Loading Customized Hierarchies in BPC 10.0

    Good day!
Has anyone tried combining the InfoObject Hierarchy of 0COSTCENTER (Cost Center) and 0PROFIT_CTR (Profit Center) into one hierarchy in BW?
I am asking this in order to execute a single load for Master Data Hierarchies of a dimension COST_PROFIT_CTR in BPC 10.0.
If yes, how were you able to load the hierarchy successfully?
    Hoping for your reply.
    Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for your reply, Bishwajit.
I created two transformations connected to a customized InfoObject. When I opened the Hierarchy of the said InfoObject, I saw two separate hierarchies - one for Cost Center and one for Profit Center.
What is the best approach to create a "merged" custom hierarchy in BW if this is the scenario?
There are Profit Centers which have the same ID as Cost Centers. However, in their respective hierarchies in R/3, there are instances wherein the parent of the base member of a Profit Center is different from the parent of the base member of the same Cost Center.
    Thank you.

  • Steps to load Hierarchies into BPC

    Hi All
I am new to SAP BPC.I have the following doubts on BPC.
1.Can anyone let me know how to load hierarchies into BPC. If you have any links which explain this procedure its appreciated you pass on it to me.
    2. Difference between Planning and Forecasting.
Thanks and Appreciate your quick response.
    Thanks & Regards
    ark

    Hi Ark-
There is an excellent paper on how to load master data (including hierarchies) into BPC located at:
    [https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20%28EPM%29%20How-to%20Guides|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/Enterprise%20Performance%20Management%20%28EPM%29%20How-to%20Guides]
The article is titled: "How Tou2026 Automate BPC 7.0, version for the NetWeaver Platform Master Data Loads from BW to BPC".
Planning and Forecasting are business processes.  Planning implies a process that is invoked to predict future performance.  More typically businesses use the terms Budgeting and Forecasting to describe how far out in time a prediction is made.  Budgeting is a process that delivers at least a full future year of performance expectations.  Forecasting is very similar to Budgeting forward looking view; however forecasting is typically focused on the current year's performance.  Forecasting will typically combine some actual values with a projection of the balance of the current year's anticipated results.  Each customer may call these activities by their own internal naming conventions.

  • BPC75NW: Error Loading Master data for BPC Dimensions from BW InfoObject

    Hello Gurus,
I'm trying to load master data for BPC Dimensions from BW Infoobjects.
The ID thats used in BW is 32 char long. When I run the load, the ID is truncated after 20 chars and  the records are reported as duplicates.
Due to this the load is failing.
I cannot use any other ID as the texts will not be loaded in that case.
Is there any work around to handle this?
I cannot load the transaction data either.
I looked at some posts and blogs in sdn, but nothing really helped.
Cube - 0RPM_c05 (Financial Planning cube in SAP PPM)
    Version: BPC 7.5 NW SP5
    Thanks,
    Vasu

    Thanks Everyone.
" you can write a transformation file and give a new name to those IDs who have values more than 20 characters."
Poonam - Could you explain more?
I tried using a additional Dimension property to hold the 32 char ID. But I cannot access this in the transformation.
Is there a way to refer the dimension property in the Transformation file or in the UJD_ROUTINE BADI implementation?
    Thanks,
    Vasu

    ok,
go get BRTOOLS 7.00, you need that version to use brtools on Oracle 10g databases.

  • DBD: Error while trying to load the transport provider for odbc. Failed to load the library. System error: The specified module could not be found.

    Hello Everyone,
We are getting an error while trying to create an Universe via Microsoft -> MS Analysis Services 2014 -> OLEDB for OLAP Provider under Connection in UDT -"DBD: Error while trying to load the transport provider for odbc. Failed to load the library. System error: The specified module could not be found."  We have installed BI 4.1 SP05 in our system. As per earlier posts in scn in BO XI 3.x this issue used to be for improper installation of Integration KIT but in our scenarion Integration KIT is within the BO 4.1 package so no seperate installation is required. Moreover I have checked whether all the driver is present under file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers" and seems everything is fine. But still I am getting this error. One important point is we could use IDT because in IDT still we don't have option to connect with 'Microsoft Analysis Services - 2014 (XMLA)' as we are using Microsoft Analysis Services 2014 version.
Kindly help if anyone has faced the same problem with SAP BO 4.1.
    Thanks and Best Regards,
    Ghosal

    Hello Everybody,
The problem is solved now after installing "OLEDB drivers from SQL Server 2012 Feature Pack". We had OLEDB drivers that comes directly from SQL Server but that did not worked out in our case.
    Thanks for your support.

    Any suggestions plz?

    Hi,
Just follow the docs in "How Tou2026 Automate BPC 7.0, version for the NetWeaver Platform Master Data Loads from BW to BPC"
where you will get detail step-by-step procedure to load data.
    Check the url:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00380440-010b-2c10-70a1-e0b431255827
Before that you have to transport into BPC system the load to work fine.

    Hi,
I am trying to load test scripts into mtm but action fails saying : "The work item cannot be saved because at least one field contains a value that is not allowed."
My guess is that this issue is due to the parameters/attributes we give to a test case([testmethod], [description()], etc.). I am unable to find what all parameters/attributes that can be given to a test case.
Please help me with this issue.

  • Hierarchical reporting w/ duplicate children -- fail?

I have a hierarchical report in CR XI displaying a directory structure that is mostly working fine.  However, there are some duplicate folder names in various spots in the tree, and they are being grouped together under one of the parent folders instead of arranged separately under their various actual parent folders.  Example:
    ParentFolder1
      Development
      Production
    ParentFolder2
      Development
      Production
    ParentFolder3
      Development
      Production
    Is being reported as
    ParentFolder1
      Development
      Development
      Development
      Production
      Production
      Production
    ParentFolder2
    ParentFolder3
The directions for a hierarchical report specify that you group by the child object, so I can see why two different child objects with matching names would be grouped together, but with Hierarchical Grouping Options indicating the parent folder of each child object, shouldn't both factors be taken into account, so that the child objects with matching parents get grouped together?  The rest of the hierarchical report is fine, it's only having trouble with these matching-name children.
    Thanks!
    Brad in Raleigh

Nope, the grouping is by child folder name, just as it says in the hierarchical grouping directions.
I created another employee/manager example as a test case:
    Employee            Manager
    Smith                   Harris
    Harris
    Jones                  Davis
    Davis
    Morrison              Harris
    Davidson             Davis
    Jones                  Harris
    Murphy                Davis
Put those into a report, group on Employee (the child object) and then use Hierarchical Grouping Options to make Manager the parent.  The grouping on Employee name is taking precedence over the parent/child relationship in Hierarchical Grouping Options, resulting in the Jones(es) being grouped together and not spread out among their separate managers.
I'm guessing it's just a feature that duplicate children throw off the Hierarchical Grouping Options, that HGO fails when your children are not all unique, but would love some confirmation of that.  Thanks in advance!

  • Hierarchies in BPC

    Hey,
i have a question about Hierarchies in BPC.
How deep can these hierachies be? Is there a limitation? Because i get failure while importing data with my hierachie wich look like this:
    ID PARENTH1
    All
    Invest     All
    Depot     Invest
    VV     Depot
If i change the VV parent to Invest everything is fine .. no errors
    Any ideas?

    Hi Vadim,
Ok, thank you. What about the SAP Planning and Consolidation version for Microsoft? (forgot to mention before).
And is it possible to convert data to a parent? There is a conversion file that looks like this:
    EXTERNAL INTERNAL
    4711      Depot
    1911      Depot
    2014      VV
    1337      VV

    Hi Neeraj,
The only thing you can do is go in to theMonitor screen of that IP and select the datatargets from the Monitor screen. In the next screen you can see all the targets included in the IP at the top.But the only bad thing is you have to manually delete the Bad request only from each target.
