They will be deleted from the PhotoStream folder in iPhoto, but if you have sync'd them then they will still be there in your Events or whatever new Folder you may have created for them. Also, deleting photos from PhotoStream does not delete those same photos from your Camera Roll, so either way, you will still have them.
Or, conversely, if you are asking if you would need to delete them from both PhotoStream and iPhoto (if they have aleady been sync'd), then yes, you would need to delete them from both places. PhotoStream is a separate entity from your actual photos that get sync'd.

Congratulations on your new iPhone 5s! It sounds like you are trying to delete photos from My Photo Stream to save room on iCloud.
The photos in My Photos do not count toward your iCloud storage:
Does My Photo Stream use my iCloud storage?
No. Photos uploaded to My Photo Stream do not count against your iCloud storage.

If you would still like to delete the photos from My Photo Stream, use the steps below. I understand you are not seeing the trash can icon. You may need to tap on the picture one more time to see it, or you can delete multiple pictures by tapping Select when viewing the My Photo Stream album:
On an iOS 7 device
In the Photos app, tap Albums, then tap My Photo Stream.
Do either of the following:
Tap a photo.
Tap Select, then tap one or more photos.
Tap , then tap Delete Photo or Delete x Photos.

If you are still not seeing the option, I recommend restarting your iPhone and trying again, and then trying a reset if the issue persists.
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

I'm just confused, so if I delete a photo off my photo stream on my iPhone will it be deleted on my computer the next time I connect the two together? Or will it still be on my computer
If your computer is signed into your iCloud account with photo stream enabled, it will. Deleting a photo stream photo on any of your devices will delete it from photo stream an your other devices that are syncing with your iCloud account with photo stream enabled.
However if when you say "the next time I connect the two together" you are talking about connecting your phone to your computer with your usb cable, then no. When you connect your phone with your usb cable you are only importing camera roll photos, not photo stream photos. Thus, nothing you do with your photo stream photos will have any effect on this. -

you can't delete individual pictures from it. You can only reset it, so that the cached pictures are reset to zero by turning off photostream on the PC/Mac as well as on the iOS5 device.
Once you turn it on again, the same pictures randomly start populating it. Always the recent 1000 pictures . You can't select really which one will go there and which wont. -

Somehow when I take pics the go into my photo stream and not my camera roll. first issue
When I hook up to itunes on my Windows 7 computer only the camera roll shows up.
I don't know where to fix what file the pics go into and I don't know how to get pics from the stream onto the camera roll or some other file.
The same thing happens on my Iphone too so I'm sure it's pilot error. There's a lot of I don't know's in this question

I downloaded some pics from my camera, many of which were rubbish. I deleted them in iPhoto, but they have gone to my photstream anyway and I can't delete them from there. Can anyone help please?
not so straight forward i'm afraid. I use Aperture and in my case resetting photo stream and switching off and back on photo stream from icloud preference panel resulted in all my imported photo stream photos in aperture being cancelled. i.e. not only the photo stream but also the automatically imported project named "oct 2011". And as you might know, restoring from time machine is not that easy in aperture as it might be in iphoto. Very dissapointing bug.

Any easy way to do this??Hello and THANKS! Copying ALL the pics works doing the Command+A, but if I want to do a group of pics the Shift key does NOT work the same way as my PC. On the PC I can click on the first one in the group and the last one in the group, then the Shift key. All the pics in-between will be highlighted. Then I can right click to copy or move to the external hard drive. I have had soooo much trouble making the transition from a PC to a Mac........it is frustrating. And one of my hard drives is older and I don't think it is formatted right so I can only view the pics on it---not copy or change it in any way........

Delete them from the my photo stream album, as well as your camera roll on your phone. Then delete them from your computer if you imported it to your computer from the camera roll. At that point, they would only be contained in any device backup made while the photos were still in your camera roll, but could only be accessed again by restoring an iOS device to the entire backup. If you're still concerned, delete the backup(s) as well.

I had a one on one with my apple rep yesterday. They backed up my camera roll from my iphone as well as my ipad on my computer as I was not able to backup to icloud due to lack of space.
They advised me to delete photos from my photo stream on my iphone and ipad and then do a back up.
I deleted the photos from photo stream on my iphone and ipad.
I was able to backup my iphone but NOT my ipad as it is saying that there is not enough room on icloud to do this back up.

I changed jobs and had to change email/AppleID. Before doing so, I did not copy the pics on the photo stream of my iPad to the album and now the only pics being synce with my iPad are new pics either saved or taken on phone. Old pics are still on phone. There has to be a way to get these pics to be able to stream them on to iPad, right?
You have a couple of options to get them in your photo stream:
Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot. This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll. This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once. Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll. These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream. (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.)
Or, you can add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99). The shared stream will appear on your iPad and you can either leave things this way, or save them to the camera roll on your iPad and delete the shared stream. They won't be in your photo stream but they will at least be on your iPad. -

I canot delete pics from my photos on ipad. During synching process to my mac the pictures started to suddenly be downloaded back to the ipad. I now have 900 pics in photos and the same in photo stream on the ipad. There is no trash can, only an "edit" choice.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.
