Loading photos on ipad3 from SD card

Why does Ipad3 not recognise JPEG files  loaded onto SD card from a PC?

Lawriemcb-
The SD card must be MS DOS "Fat" formatted, preferably formatted in your camera.  The JPEG files must be stored in a folder named DCIM, and they must have 8 character names plus the .JPG suffix.  In other words, just as if they had been named and placed there by a camera.
Assuming you have the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit, you can also use a USB thumb drive if you follow the same rules.

  • Can't upload photos into iphoto from memory card

    Hi there
I have been using iphoto for a while now and have never had any problems before. Today I have tried to upload some photos from my memory card (inserted directly into my macbook).
Iphoto reads the card (all pics come up in iphoto) but the "import selected" and "import all" boxes are greyed out.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks....

Open the memory card on the Desktkop and drag the folder containing the photos to the Desktop.  From there see if you can import them into iPhoto.

  • I keep getting duplicate photos when downloading from my card reader.

In my PSE11 Camera and Card Reader preferences I have checked "Copy new files only".  Yet whenever I download a camera card that still contains photos that were previously downloaded, I end up with duplicate photos in PSE11.
I prefer to leave my photos on the camera card as a "backup" in case of a hard drive crash or other loss of data on the computer.  Once the card is full I archive it.
Why do I get duplicates even though this setting makes it clear that I should not?  It is very annoying having to look through my photo collection and manually delete dozens or hundreds of duplicate photos.
    Thank you.
    Jon

First, try contacting the developer of the app here >  http://support.aspyr.com/home
If you do not get a reply within three to five business days, report the issue to Apple here > Apple - Support - Mac App Store - Contact Support
Apple's policy states, "all sales are final" > TUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE -TERMS AND CONDITIONS but if you explain the error and you haven't received areply from the developer, it can't hurt to request a refund.
You're sure there's enough free space on the startup disk?

  • HT4101 Exclamation point in red when I try to import photos onto iPad from SD card

I get an exclamation point in a red circle when I try to import photos from my SD card using the CAmera Connector accessory. I have successfully used this method for over a year, but all of a sudden, I'm unable to import. I have installed iOS 6. Please help!

    Hi mpt95,
I have the same problem with met 3rd gen iPad.
I tested with 2 camera's and 2 different sd-card. Here are the results:
Canon Ixus: SDHD class 4: Connection oke, Import just fine
Canon Ixus: SDHD class 10: Connection oke, Import just fine
Nikon D3500: : SDHD class 4: Connection oke, no import! Get the red Exclamation point
Nikon D3500: : SDHD class 10: Connection oke, no import! Get the red Exclamation point
Problem is not related to the SDcards, but the combination with the Nokon D3200.
Read on the net that pictures should be in the DCIM folder, and should bet no longer then 8 Characters.
I checkeg this, and it was correct. The red exclamation mark is a mystery and I cannot find the solution on the net. So far.
    What camera are you using?

  • Off loading photos and videos from ATT/US iPhone in Italy

    Hi -
I'm taking my US purchased ATT iPhone 4 on a backpack trip to Italy to use as a photo/video camera.  I have a regular, US customer ATT account - not a business or international account.
If I understand it correctly, to avoid getting socked with massive roaming and data charges I should:
    - keep the phone on Airplane Mode,
    -  turn off Mail accounts and Push,
    -  turn off WiFi until I'm in a wifi zone (like a hotel).
    I still have some questions.
What would happen if I left Location Services on so my photos would be geotagged?  Does that incur data charges?
I'm planning on taking a LOT of pictures and I'm not bringing a laptop so my next biggest concern is -
what would be the smartest way to back-up the photo/videos somewhere safe, so I can delete them from the iPhone to make room for more images?
    - If I use Photostream (only when in a wifi zone)- when I delete images from the phone they get removed from the stream - right?
    - iCloud (only when in a wifi zone) won't store photos - will it?
Remember - I want to do this data transfer without ATT charges. Do I understand these things correctly??
Is there a portable iPhone hard drive I can use without a computer interface?  That would be ideal - to just copy photos and videos over to an external box via "hard wire".
    Thanks for your input.

Moving photos from old iMac to memory stick
         Open Photos in iPhoto
Select All photos (which happens to be 2193 at the moment in my case)
Drag Photos on to the Memory Stick icon
That is not moving an iPhoto Library. It will not retain Faces, Titles and lots of other metadata. That's moving the Previews (only) from one Library to a thumb drive and then importing them to another Library.
    To move a Library:
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
I'll ask the same question that I posed
above - can you do this for Mail and iTunes?
Most certainly not. You need to ask on those forums for the correct way to move those databases.

  • Cannot load photos onto iphoto from kodak easyshare

I previously was able to load my photos onty iphoto (version 2), now that I have connected a new external hard drive, iphoto recognizes the camera and the photos to be imported, but after it starts to import them a message comes up saying "cannot import photo..." and asks me to continue or stop. Help please

An easier way to upload your pics , would be to disable launching iPhoto when you camera is connected. and use a 2 step process to upload pics on an empty folder and then to iPhoto.
    - Do you see the camera icon on the desktop?
let me know if you want to know more!

  • Having difficulty loading bill pay info from credit card company to pay my bill using Internet. How can I fix this problem?

I can open and view billing but when I click on Pay Bill the next screen has only white space from left margin to small column with some account information (only half of the column is visible). The right column is approximately 20 percent of full screen width. I tried to pull an update but link in Tools says that no updates are available..probably due to the fact that I have a 3.6 Firefox edition of browser.

  • UP-LOADING PHOTOS & RIPPED MUSIC FROM IPHONE BACK TO COMPUTER

My computer crashed and I lost everything, but thankfully my iPhone has all the photo's and music albums stored on file. The problem is, I can't find a way of re-installing that data back onto my computer! I have managed to re-install music I purchased on the Apple site, but there is no facility available that I can locate that allows my photo's and ripped albums to be re-installed back onto the computer.
    Please help!

That's because Apple makes no provision to do what you want. It's expected that you maintain a backup of your music, photos, and other data. The iphone is not a backup device. You can recover this data, but you will have to use third party software to do so. Bear in mind, photos synced to your phone were reduced in resolution for display on the iphones screen. There is no way to recover their original resolution if you did not make a backup of your computers data.

  • HT4101 Can I load photo's from my IPad back onto my SD card through the Camera Connection Kit?

Can I load photo's from my IPad back onto my SD card through the Camera Connection Kit?

No, it only supports the copying of photos and videos to the Photos app on the iPad, not from the iPad. You can copy photos that you've copied to the iPad via the kit to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

  • Aperture 2.1.2: Can't import the loaded photos from card reader...

All of a sudden when loading photos from a card reader into a folder in Aperture 2.1, I fail to "OPEN" neither a NUMBER of them, nor ALL of them...Any suggestions please....Mamster37+

Hi Tony, thanks again for your readiness to help. Have tried out the suggestion in the second paragraph of your thread, same result as you. That means when first taking the photos from the card reader to the desktop and then IMPORTING them from there into Aperture, there is NO problem. But when from inside Aperture, using Aperture's load/import feature from the card reader, it will NOT work! However, I have found out that the problem seems to be related to RAW-files only (in my case Nikons "NEF-files"), jPEGS open/import fine that way. My possible conclusion: in the light of the rather many recent adjustments/upgrades of various RAW-converters - lately also within Photoshop CS4 - I put myself the question as to whether the latter "Camera Raw-converter" might have overruled the converter of Apples Operating system, or that of Aperture. There seem to be a "collision" somewhere...What do you or other readers of this thread mean about my findings? Oeksen37+

  • Import photos from SD card into iPhoto

Santa gave my wife a new camera for Christmas and I am trying to load photos from the SD card using the SanDISK MicroMate (plugs into USB port) that came with the card. My daughter also got a camera, a Digital Blue Disney micro that uses a cable to attach to the USB port. Neither will show up in iPhoto, Image Capture, Windows Media Player, or in a finder window. Both do show up (with correct information as far as I can tell) in the Apple System Profiler. The Digital Blue website states that they do not have Mac software, but that Mac users can plug in to the USB and drag and drop as a "mass storage device". With our old camera, I used a compact flash (CF) with a compact flash reader that plugged into the USB port and never had any problems. The CF always showed up in iPhoto and the finder windows. Any ideas out there. I will probably be upgrading to a 2.4 GHz iMac soon, but would like to solve this before that happens. Thanks for your help.
    Scott

    The SanDisk website has a PDF owner's guide that says the following;
Macintosh Disk Icons: When you connect the MicroMate Reader/Writer on a Macintosh operating system, a removable disk icon labeled
“untitled” representing the MicroMate Reader/Writer will show on the desktop when a card is inserted.
It also has directions to drag the removable disk icon labeled “untitled” to the trash to remove the disk. There is also a support link to a ebox page on a secure site that won't let me go farther (I think I need a newer browser), so I can't find drivers.
My problem is that the icon doesn't show up and I can't find it in any applications I try. I know the Disney camera is a toy, its for my 5 year old, but I am having the identical problem with both the Disney camera and SanDisk.
